Simon wandered into the break room, headphone dangling out of one ear, and a can of Red Bull in his hands. He grinned at all the people in there, and sat himself down on the couch, kicking his feet up onto a table near to it.

"So, how is everyone today?"

Emily looked up at the voice that spoke and smiled as she saw Simon walk into the breakroom. "Ahh, Simon, we were just talking about you." She said, nodding as she put her cup down and folded her paper. "Jocelyn was looking for you. I think she's still here, somewhere." She stated, frowning slightly. She had always been horrible at faces, names she could remember, but faces, nope.

Jocelyn had taken a seat in the corner with her cup of coffee and a book while she waited. Then at the mention of her name she looked up from her book. Though she has not heard all what was said she stood up walking over toward Emily.

"I am sorry- what was that you said," she asked looking at the women.

Emily turned, seeing Joceyln approach her. She smiled and repeated, "I was just telling Simon you were looking for him." She pointed to the man who had just entered. "He's over there." She then turned back to gaze once more at the Spirits division head, wondering where exactly he was from.

As Jocelyn heard Emily's response she shook her head at the fact she had not heard her the first time around, "Oh I see-sorry- I didn't hear you." She had been reading her book and tuning out the others around her until she heard her own name mentioned.

She looked over at the man Emily pointed out to her, "Hi- my name is Jocelyn.” She took in the man’s appearance and noticed the headphone hanging from his ear. Laughing to herself Jocelyn thought, and I was nervous about starting here.

Katherine's eyes widened as Jack introduced her to the mystery French guy. Ummmmm, she thought before finally speaking. "It's nice to meet you, Mr. Venin. Or do you prefer to be called Vladimir?" She felt like a complete idiot for her earlier curiosity.

Turning back to Emily, she realized that Jack had answered the woman's last question. She was utterly at a loss for words. And that hardly ever happened to her.

Padme was sitting in the chair in the corner and listening to everyone's conversations and getting to know the other people in the department. She wasn't eavesdropping, just getting to know who the people were and everything.

Padme was a bit shy and it taken a lot of courage to introduce herself to Katherine before and she didn't feel like she could do it with everyone and she decided to just stay where she was sitting.

Vlad smiled at the woman, Katherine, and took her hand and bowed to her in a courtly manner. "It's a pleasure to meet you madame Katherine," he let go of her hand, wondering if she felt the coolness of his touch. "You can call me Vlad, it's short and sweet." He set his coffee mug down on the table, making a note to get another cup later.

Simon looked at the woman and nodded.

"Hey. I'm Simon, Simon Sandford, head of Beast Division." He could barely hear his own voice over that of his headphone, but it was barely audible.

"What can I do you for?"

Katherine's eyes widened even more as he bowed to her like she was in a different era. "Um, ok, Vlad", she managed to stammer out. She had noticed how his hand was cool, but figured it was a circulation problem or something. She knew some people who had problems like that. But the head of the Spirit division was getting curiouser and curiouser. She kept chanting her husband's name in her head, Christopher, Christopher . . ., trying to remain as detached as she thought a married person should be. But she still felt a faint flush creeping over her face.

After finally finishing all of his paperwork, Teal walked down from his office and made his way into the break room to kick back and relax a little. As he came in, he saw his Department Head, listening to his music... of course. Teal smiled slightly, "G'day Simon, you got anything interesting yet today?" he mused, in reference to any cool cases with regards to beasts and dangerous creatures. Teal looked around the room, and definately recognized some new faces, there must have been another hiring, because the work load had been getting large as of late.

Teal made his way over to the refrigerator and pulled out a butterbeer, popping it open with his bear hands. With a slight sigh, Teal made his way over to the table and sat down, taking a large swig of his butterbeer as he did. Sitting near him was one of the new girls, and he was pretty sure he heard Venin say her name was Katherine. With a curt not and a smile, Teal turned to her, "I don't think we've met yet. I'm Teal Andrus." he said conversationally to the younger girl. "I'm over in the Committee for the Disposal of Dangerous Creatures... it's not all as bad as it sounds." he added , because over the years, his profession has always been tagged as tyrants, 'killing' innocent creatures. Teal was very the opposite, he had saved almost all of his cases.

Jocelyn listened as Simon introduced himself, "Hi Simon. I believe you are my new boss." She laughed slightly thinking how stupid she must sound, yet she could still feel her nervous thumping in the back of her heart.

"I have been assigned to Centaur Liaison Office," she finally stumbled out. She stood very still for a moment before adding, "I just wanted to introduce myself as well as meet you."

Teal turned his head as the other new girl in the room mentioned that she was in the same division as himself. With a smug smile, Teal looked to the woman that was assigned to the Centaur Liaison Office, "Looks like we are in the same division." he said with a slight nod.

Teal took another large swig of his butterbeer and set it back on the table, "I'm Teal Andrus, I can show you around some time if you feel lost." he said conversationally, finishing his butterbeer and tossing it into a nearby wastebasket with great precision.

Jocelyn heard another man speak to her and she turned, "Hi Jocelyn Paisley." She extended her hand towards the man as she introduced herself. "It is nice to meet you Teal. Yes, thank you that is quite nice- as I can see myself becoming lost in the near future." She gave a slight laugh, "What department is it that you are located in?"

Teal nodded as she mentioned her name, "It's nice to meet you as well." Looking behind him, Teal gave the notion of 'hold-on one second' and got up to get himself another butterbeer out of the fridge, and again popped it open with his hands and took a big gulp. Sitting back down, Teal nodded to her and said, "Yeah it's a pretty big place around here. It takes awhile to get used to it." he said with a nod, all those years ago, it was eighteen years to be exact, when he first walked into the Ministry as an employee, and he remember the confusion was crazy.

Teal took another quick sip from his butterbeer and answered Jocelyn, "I'm in the Beast Division... I work on the Committee for the Disposal of Dangerous Creatures, but I do alot of other stuff involving dragon's and other creatures." he said with a shrug, he had years of experience under his belt and was very efficient in working with just about any sort of magical creature. After once again taking a swig from his butterbeer Teal furrowed his eyebrows, "So you're in the Centaur Liaison Office? It's a pretty neat position, you'll like it." he reassured her, he had worked with centaurs before, and they seemed like decent creatures as long as you gave them utmost respect.

Jocelyn nodded her head as she waited for Teal; he had excused himself for a moment as a he got a drink. Then nodding once more in agreement to the fact the Ministry was a rather large place. As she listen to Teal talk Jocelyn got the feeling he had been here for a rather long period of time and thought it might be wise to befriend someone in his standing (plus he seemed like a nice fellow.) At the mention of disposal of creatures Jocelyn made a face she hoped Teal didn’t notice- one that expressed dislike. Jocelyn know that some creatures were dangerous; however, what about the non dangerous that some people thought to be – did they share the same faith.

Jocelyn glanced around to Simon and then again back to Teal. “Well this is my first ever job-but yes I think I will,” she answered in an almost whisper. “I have had my rounds with all types of creatures,” then realizing that Teal probably would think her uncertified for the job seeing how she had no experience she thought to share a little of her past. “Centaur especially,” she said quickly. “I have traveled all over learning about how different habits and environments effect the way different creatures act and relate. The Centaurs I found was the most affected of all the creatures- I believe.” She realized she was starting to ramble on about her travels as she always did and decided to ask Teal more about himself. “How long have you worked with the Ministry?”

Teal took a quick glance to the left to avoid eye contact as he saw Joselyn's almost flinch at the mention of Teal's job, he was fair, and he'd find a way to elaborate on that without it being awkward later. Giving her a smile, he took another long swig from his butterbeer and set it back down on the table. Teal listened to her story about how she studied magical creatures, and Teal definately could relate as he followed a similar path. She seemed actually pretty knowledgable for someone that looked to be in their early twenties or late teens.

Teal nodded in agreement when she said that centaurs were the most affected of all creatures, "I agree. With all of the deforestation happening, I can see some more violent revolts breaking out. Which of course, makes my job hell." he said with a shrug, he didn't want to have to deal with crazed centaurs attacking wizards and muggles. Teal took a look behind him, to see who all was in the room out of curiosity and turned back to answer Joselyn's question. "Well, right out of Hogwarts I applied for a job here at the ministry and I worked in the Beast Division on the Dragon Research and Restraint Bureau." he said, taking another quick sip from his bottle of butterbeer. "And after about seven years, I got really tired of my desk job so I went to work abroad. I finally stopped in Romania and I worked with the Dragons there for about eight years. It was really exciting but after a while I decided it was time to move back to London." he said, with a smug grin as he was probably boring her with his life story. "So I applied again but I wanted a change so I applied for a job on the Committee for the Disposal of Magical Creatures so I could be sure that each creature put into trial would recieve a fair one." Teal exclaimed, rubbing the hair on his chin as hopefully Joselyn understood why he took the job now. "So I have been here for the past three years, and it's proved to be really interesting, dealing with all sorts of dangerous creatures from around the world." he finished, with a small shake of the head, and he downed the rest of his butterbeer and put the empty bottle on the table. "I don't know if you have seen our holding room yet, but it's usually pretty neat. We don't have much in there right now, but that's where the creatures that are being put on trial usually go." he said with a shrug, thought he might as well point that out. Right now there was a sphinx and an erkling in there. The erkling had been involved in the death of seven muggle children, and the sphinx had randomly attacked its owner at the opening of the wizard's Gringotts vault, very compelling cases indeed.

Jocelyn stood listening to Teal’s history at the Ministry as well as out of. His appearance did not show a man who had been with the Ministry as long as being described rather he looked about late twenty rather then late thirties. She smiled and nodded as he spoke of traveling to Romania as she herself had been there for a few months stay.

Then she nodded as he explained why he had taken the job and she had a feeling of understanding of why he had taken the job, “I don’t mean to be or sound judgmental- that job just…well I see what you mean and I respect that.” As Teal described the holding room Jocelyn’s eyes widen with interest, “You will really have to show me around because I didn’t even know about the holding room.”

Teal shook his head sympathetically as Joselyn tried to apologize for being judgemental, Teal had gotten much worse reactions to his profession before and small stabs here and there didn't even phase him. "Yeah, well the job has to be done. Better me than some bloody idiot that just signs death consent forms without a thought." he said, with a wry smile.

Teal laughed as Jocelyn looked evidently excited about the holding room, is was actually quite an interesting place. "Alright, well the holding room is just down the hall if you want to go check it out right now." he said, taking a glance at her from the corner of his eyes.

Jocelyn gave a sigh of relief to herself as Teal explained he had worse reactions to his job. Then flashing him a bright smile as he asked if she wanted to go see the holding room, "Of course- that would be wonderful." She noticed the tone of excitement in her voice and she shock her head slightly to herself, don't sound such like an idiot.

As she followed Teal to the door she looked in the glass to she her own reflection looking back, wow- my hair looks horrible, she thought. She glanced over to Teal to see if he was looking at her as she reaches up flattening and fixing her hair.

Teal smiled as Jocelyn said she wanted to see the holding room, she really did seem extatic about it. But who wouldn't be? Dangerous creatures were always interesting to look at, maybe even humbling. Once they reached the door, Teal gave an unnoticable glance over to Jocelyn as he spotted her fixing her hair, I've still got it.., he thought to himself, smiling slightly as he opened the door.

Walking down the corridor, the holding room was six rooms down. When they finally reached it, Teal stopped at the door and sighed slightly. "It's usually alot busier in there, we only have a few creatures in here right now." he said with a shrug as he opened the door. "After you." he said with a half-smile, slightly peering into the room full of strange cages.

Katherine was so distracted by her current situation that she almost missed another man introducing himself to her. By the time it registers in her mind and she turned to address him, he had already left the breakroom again. You idiot!, she mentally chastised herself. You should really get to know all these people, and here you are basically ignoring them. Good job, Katherine.

Of course, time for a break, and Rosalie was spending it reading. She’d been accepted into the last department she ever expected. She’d be working with Magical Creatures, werewolves to be more precise. Could they have placed her in any more awkward a department? Though Rosalie was as good with creatures as the next person...it wasn’t what she was best at, it wasn’t what she had a passion for. The only good aspect was that it got her back in touch with AJ Silverstone.

It seemed that the attention of every person in the room was on one figure. It was a male, a rather pale one, that seemed to be going over some files. It was easy to see the appeal in the man. Even from across the room Rosalie could tell that there was simply something about him that was alluring. Something that made her want to get closer...to talk to him...to get a better look at him. However, she refrained.

There were more important things to be done. Like reading up on werewolves. Her knowledge on them was rather slim, and had gotten rather dusty with disuse. Rosalie needed to read up on her work subject-matter. She moved towards the seating area, which was swarming with the people talking to the handsome pale man. Rosalie felt her shoulder bump a woman as she moved past, towards a vacant chair.

“OH, I‘m terribly sorry.” She said politely before moving past them all. Rosalie seated herself in the chair, and crossed her legs over one another before settling her book against them, and opening to the first page. A curtain of waist length auburn hair spilled over her shoulder, hiding her face and the book from her view when she shifted her weight. Rosalie didn't move to right it.

Jay entered the breakroom his eyes scanning through the stack of papers he had in hand. he shifted to the next page before he stopped next to the coffee maker an poured himself a cup. he glanced around the room as he took a drink he made his way over to a vacant seat and sat down. placig his coffee on the table he looked up politely at the person he had sat near " Hello"

Rosalie was half way through the third page when a voice spoke from beside her. Her brown eyes continued to move across the page, finishing the paragraph she was on before looking up to see who had spoken to her. It was a man she'd never seen before with a cup of coffee, and a stack of papers. It was an epidemic in this room...coffee and paperwork. So thrilling.

"Hello." Rosalie greeted him with a pleasant smile on her lips. Rosalie combed her fingers through her long, thick hair, and got it out of her face. She then closed her book. No need to be rude right? It was only for personal reference. Something told Rosalie she'd pick up on werewolves pretty quickly...

"I'm Rosalie Hale." She introduced herself, offering a hand to the man seated next to her. He looked to be a few years older than her...perhaps around AJ's age?
