"You live in Italy, you are so lucky both of you," he said amazed by the invitation, "I have a small cottage in Italy because I was a university teacher there," he added. "So er... how many people are you inviting to this wedding?" he asked her. Maybe Thomas could come to the wedding too because in his letter was written that he was friend who's is getting married. "Do you have a niece called Victoria Jaimeson maybe?" he asked, thinking that might be the name of the girl.

"Yes, I do! Your wife and children are invited too, it is a beautiful villa we can't wait to have kids" she was so excited about starting her new life with J.J.

"Well my son wrote nearly a whole paragraph about her and I think he kinda likes her," he said thinking about will Thomas and Victoria get to the wedding they can't just run away, can they? "Just to tell you, in every magical or muggle wedding my son Thomas will get drunk or he faints because bored most of the time so please make sure he doesn't eat or drink to much or you'll regret you even had a wedding."

"Well me and my niece are both half veela!" she thought that she had better tell him, "I will get my niece to keep a close eye on him!"

Larry gave Kat a small smile she was really nice to him and he was looking forward to be in her wedding. "Just how will Thomas and Victoria get to the wedding because I don't think that the school staff would let them out," he said.

"Well I am going to leave and maybe I'll meet you in my next break," he said getting of the chair. He walked towards the door and just before he left he waved at her with a smile, it is a shame that they are not in the same division.

"I could just say that they have a wedding to attend and Victoria is a bridesmaid. See you in the next break!" She waved to him as he left.

Pandora noticed a tall woman with long hair that was glossy in a way that her own could never be enter the break room and come over to Violet and herself.
Pandora tried to give her a welcoming smile, but it was difficult to do as Violet was still healing her teeth.

Without actually waiting for an answer to her question the woman walked away again. Pandora thought that it was odd, but decided not to say anything.


"Oh, thanks!" Pandora flicked her wand over the tear in the skirt of her robes, repairing it. "I will go and introduce myself once I've found where my desk has been put since we were combined. I'll have to appologise too. I hate being late, my father trained me to be ten minutes early for everything, so being late just feels wrong." She blushed again. "I suppose that the world cup will be fun if Quidditch is your thing but to be honest it's a bit violent for my taste. What was decided in the meeting, anything I should know about?"

Violet smiled. "Actually, you were only a few minutes late. I doubt he even noticed. Don't worry about that." She nodded. "What office were you in before? I can tell you what it's been merged with if you don't already know." She grinned and nodded a little more vigorously. "I know! I've never really loved Quidditch either. I'm really not a sports person. What we decided is that no magical creatures apart from wizards will be allowed. If the master of a house elf has bought him or her a ticket, he or she may attend but that's it." She shrugged.

"I'm Goblin Liason" Pandora replied with a tight smile. It wasn't where she had wanted to be or where her experience was but she would make the best of it and move whne she got thet chance to. "Would you like a coffee or a tea?" She stood and started to walk accross to the kitchen area of the break room. I quite like chess, but I just don't see the point on Quidditch. It just seems like an elaborate way in which to break your neck to me." She frown slightly. "How are we defining Werewolves? I know it's a touchy subject right now, with what happened at Hogwarts." She chewed the inside of her lip and tried to keep her face impassive.

"Goblins are merged with the werewolves and house-elves," said Violet. "There's a sign on the door. You should be able to find it pretty easily." She smiled and held up her thermos. "I'm all set, thank you." Speaking of which...she'd quite forgotten she was holding it. She took a sip of her cocoa. "Well, I don't really follow Quidditch anyway, but it does seem like it would be safe enough if you knew what you were doing." She nodded; this had been bound to come up. "We decided that since the Cup is being held so close to the full moon, werewolves will not be allowed to attend the match. If it weren't the case, they would be since they're in human form most of the time. At the moment, werewolves are classified as beasts, though the subject has been a problem for years. I personally believe that they should be beings." Violet shrugged; it wasn't her decision.

"Oh, so all we beasts are together, that should be fun" Pandora poured out some coffee and looked around for a honey pot. There wasn't one that she could see, so sugar would have to do. "Hmmm, maybe you have to be confident on a broom." She listened to Violet explain the decision about werewolves and hoped that her face wasn't reflecting the anger that she felt. Which idiot planned it so close to the full moon? she thought. "I agree that they should be beings. They're only werewolves for 12 nights a year after all." She hoped that she was sounding rational, but she could feel a muscle in her cheek jumping. She took a scalding sip of coffe to cover it. A change of subject was needed "So have you got a lot on in your department at the moment?"

"Yep, it's by Division and then by office," Violet confirmed. She watched Pandora prepare her coffee with a slight smile. She had always found it fascinating to watch other people do ordinary things, like watch the way they held a pen when writing, or how they held a coffeepot. She couldn't get over how people had just learned to do the same things in slightly different ways.

She pulled her mind back to the present as Pandora reacted to her words. "I'm unhappy about it also," she cautioned as the other woman's face carefully concealed her upset, but her eyes did not. Violet could always tell by the eyes. "Yes, but their classification is not the issue. It's just a safety concern for everyone else in attendance."

Violet considered Pandora's question. "Right now? Well, I'm pretty busy, so I don't get out on break that often. We still have the centaur issue, and the upcoming match, and who knows what else is on the way." She sighed. "But I shouldn' be complaining...it isn't really that bad. I'm just whining a little."

Pandora bit back an angry retort as Violet trotted out the old saftey excuse. If it had been properly planned it could have been avoided altogether. Her father's pained face flashed into her mind and tears sprang unbidden into her eyes. "Don't you think it's just bad planning though?" she asked, completely ignoring Violet's answer to her question about workload, "Did anyone consider the timing of the Cup at all or were there no calendars in the room? Or was it done on purpose? To punish every werewolf for what happened at Hogwarts, to separate and subjugate them?" The tears spilled down her cheeks and she realised that not only was she shouting at a division head, she was doing it in full view of her collegues. She recovered herself slighty. "I'm sorry, I'm just sick of all this prejudice." She couldn't look Violet in the eye so she stared at the floor, sipping her coffee.

Violet folded her arms and watched as Pandora let out all the anger that Violet had sensed earlier. She waited a few seconds, making sure that she was done, before sliding closer and slipping an arm around Pandora. "Shhh," she soothed. "Of course this was thought over very carefully. This was the only date available, I'm sure. The werewolves aren't being prejudiced on purpose. The rest of the department is just was upset as you are. But we can't ask them to change the date just for us. We're not important enough." She gave a sad little laugh. "It's impossible to make everyone happy sometimes, Pandora. I'm sorry, but that's the way it is." She couldn't see Pandora's face. Violet suspected that she might be crying, so she put her other arm around her as well and gave her a hug.

Pandora was shocked to feel Violet put her arm around her. It had been four months since another person had touched her in an affectionate way. She became rigid, nervous at the contact. She listen to Violet trying to explain that the department wasn't important enough to get the date changed. Violet pulled her into a hug as angry tears continued to flow down Pandora's cheeks. "I'm sorry" she said, her voice strained with the emotion, "I think that I probably should have waited before coming to work here, but I couldn't afford it. My father passed away a few months ago and he was..." She let the rest of the sentence hang unspoken in the air and sobbed freely. She just wanted the floor to open up and swallow her.

Violet felt as Pandora stiffened but she didn't let go. She thought that Pandora could use the affection. After a few moments she let go and leaned back to scrutinize Pandora's face. She listened sympathetically to her story and gave her another quick squeeze. "I'm so sorry to hear about that. I will understand if you sometimes have trouble when the issue of werewolves comes up. You seem to link it to the death of your father. And if you want to talk about anything, remember that I'm always here. All right?" Violet didn't usually expend this much on one person. Either she felt exceptional pity for Pandora or she was slipping. She suspected it was the fist one, and it was confirmed as the tears started. She wiped them from her own eyes hastily. She never cried. Not Violet.

Pandora looked at the deptment head and saw that she too had tears in her eyes. There was something else there as well, was it pity? Did Violet pity her? Pandora felt sick, she had hoped that she and Violet could be friends, they were of a similar age afterall. She turned so that her back was to the majority of her collegues. Keeping her voice was low and devoid of emotion she said "Yes I associate werewolves with the death of my father. He was one. My family was the subjected to a werewolf attack. My twin, Prometheus and my mother were killed but my father was infected. For some reason the werewolf left me alone but I saw everything. I was ten. I've spent the last seventeen years watching my father tear himself apart whilst being systematically shunned by society. Three months ago I couldn't be with my father at the full moon. He didn't take his potion and he finally suceeded in ripping himself in two. I don't care who knows or what they might think of me as a result. I'd better go and find my desk." She gave Violet one last burning look and turned to walk away.

Violet listened to this story in silence. She had a suspicion that anything she might say or do would just make the matter worse. So she listened, trying to emanate sympathy, but she stayed where she was and said nothing.

Then Pandora stood up to leave. Suddenly Violet felt as though she absolutely had to try and make amends. "All right. I apologize for anything I might have said or done that has upset you today. I assure you, it wasn't on purpose." There, it was out.

Pandora turned to listen to Violet's appolgy. It didn't soften her."You didn't say anything."She replied tartly "I just don't need anyone's pity. I had thought that within this department people might have a more enlightened view of werewolves, but it seems I was mistaken. Even when they do dislike the way that werewolves are treated, like you seem to, they're not willing to do anything to change things. There's an old muggle saying that I like 'If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem'." Her voice was filled with disapointment and she could feel her hair crackling with eletricity. She smoothed her hands over it in an attempt to control it. "I just hoped that things were changing, but the Qudditch World Cup proves that people are just as prejudiced as ever."

Violet smoothed down her skirt and stayed perfectly still. She seemed to have a gift for inadvertently making people angry. She didn't want to make Pandora angrier than she now was, but she still left like she had to explain.
"Well, think about it. The people have been planning the cup for months, it's only a few weeks away. They've only just recently released the information to us. I want to do something, but in this case there is nothing I can do. I'm a Ministry Division Head, Pandora. I don't really have the time to be a werewolf activist as well." She paused for a moment to catch her breath and giving Pandora a chance to speak before moving ahead smoothly. "As for prejudice. The day of the Cup is a full moon. The only way that werewolves could be in attendance was if the game lasted only a few hours, which has never in Quidditch World Cup history happened, or if they were kept confined in a space a ways away from the stadium, which is obviously out of the question since it would involve cages. Think about it. Once it became dark, they would start transforming. Even with the Wolfsbane potion, they can be dangerous, and they'll scare people. And we can't risk the chance that some of them might forget. I know you're unhappy, but it's the only way it can work. Think about it." She bit her lip. Chances were Pandora'd find something in that explanation that she could become angry at.

Pandora listened. She was in control of her temper now and she spoke in a calm, considered way."I'm not saying that you should be an activist, what I'm saying is that no-one should just let predjudice just go unchecked. It's clearly too late to do anything about the cup now and I understand the saftey considerations, I really do, I lived by them for long enough. My point is that at those who have planned the Cup would seem to either have been compeltely oblivious to the lunar calendar or they've planned it at the full moon on purpose. Can you see my point? How likely is it they don't know the lunar calendar? They are wizards after all." She sighed and sat back down next to Violet. "I'm sorry that I was over emotional, I usually have much more self control than that."

Violet nodded. "I know, I know. It was bad thinking on their part. But you do have to negotiate with the other team's Ministry, and you have to find a date where all the team members can play, and it does have to be at a certain time of the year. It's not entirely their fault if there were ony a few dates on purpose. They can't think of everything, and I don't believe that they planned it this way on purpose."

Pandora listened to Violet take the ministry line. "Perhaps."They clearly weren't going to get anywhere, maybe it was time to change the topic. Where did you learn to Heal? Is there a course within the ministry? I know some of the basics, but I think it would be a good idea to know more.

"No, I didn't learn to heal here," said violet, glad of the chance in subject. "It's just something I learned. I was looking for a good job before I came here, Healing was one of the things I was interested in, so I learned just the basic spells, and a few intermediate ones. I have a daughter and I wanted to make sure that if she got injured while I was with her, I would more or less be able to Heal her."

"Are you self taught?" Pandora asked, genuinely interested. "I do know some things but some of the spell books were destroyed..." her voice trembled "Well to be honest be took half the house with him." She felt her eyes become brimful of tears again and took a deep breath. "So any recommendations you can make would be great. How old is your daughter?"
