The door right next to the Head's Office leads to the department breakroom. Employee's can come sit and relax, have a cup of tea or something stronger like coffee, and chat with other members. This is a place of peace and serenity, not to much work talk.

"Er...right place for what?" Jacob asked, a bit confused. "If you're looking for Ms. Hay-Mrs. Hunter, or Mr. Hunter, or Ms. McMillan, or myself, you're in the right place. Otherwise...I'm not sure what you're doing."

Jacob took a sip of Earl Grey and another thought occurred to him. "Are you here to visit with a Level Five employee for break?"

Hum... Who were those people he was talking about?
"That makes two of us." she replied in a lower voice. "Unless my goddaughter wants me to find a new place to live..." She was starting to realize what had happened.
Lucy had received some letters from her goddaughter talking about the girl's enemy at Hogwart and that the girl's uncle was her co-worker. What her goddaughter didn't know was that she was actually living with that man. The mistaken invitation was meant for Jake, not for me...
Lucy tried to look fine and improvise:
"No. I was going to visit someone for a break yes, but I guess I left in the wrong floor. Is this level five? Oh, I was supposed to be on level four." she mde that up has she was speaking. "I'm so sorry to have bothered you and... thank yo for your help, Mr..." she realized she didn't know his name. Not that she was thinking about vising level five more times than needed, after that little episode.

"Webster," Jacob said. "Technically my name is Mr. Webster. But if I ever see you again, call me Jacob."

"And...er...good luck with finding whatever floor it is you meant to find," Jacob added, sure the girl was just covering up her mistake. Which was fine. Some people hated embarrassment. "You're welcome back her any time, mysterious Ministry employee I don't know the name of."

"Okay. I'll remeber that." and she would in fact, which was not very surprising. Despite all the changes she had gone through since she was working in the Ministry, she was still a workaholic. "Thank you, Mr. Webster."
"I appreciate the invitation, Mr. Webster." Right, her name... She decided to answer just the same way he had. "Hope. Miss Hope. But if you ever see me again, call me Lucy." she politely excused herself, just turning her head to say a few good bye words before leaving for good:
"See you around, Mr. Webster." and she was gone.

Jacob shook his head, grinning a little. So much for Jacob. "Bye, Lucy," he said, lifting his mug and finding it empty. Oh well. Time to read anyway. Jacob opened the book carefully, trying not to kill the spine, and began to read.

Kenedie walked into the breakroom and looked around. She needed to talk to Lili about something, not that it was super important. She was sort of confused though. She hadn't seen Lili around, and she had heard that Iain was in charge.

She actually could see Iain standing somewhere. Well, she thought, No time like the present to randomly walk up to people and start asking them questions about their wife's whereabouts.

She approached Iain and tapped him on the shoulder since his back was to her. "Hi, I'm Kenedie," she said, used to introducing herself as the new girl by now, "You're Liliana's husband, right?"

Iain sighed, it wasn't like he didn't have things to do. Because he did. He needed to make sure that this was done and that was filed and this was okay. He had to do his own work and make sure that Liliana's letter's and files got sent properly and then filed neatly (Voldemort only knew that it woukd blow up in his face if everything wasn't correct when she got back.)

So, he was slightly shocked when he felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned around and smiled at the girl. "Hey... Kenedie." He replied as she introduced herself. Then, he nodded with a large grin. "You are correct, that honour does fall on my shoulders." He told her, his eyes sparkling at the simple mention of his gorgeous blonde-haired wife.

Kenedie smiled as Iain's eyes lit up quite obviously. She tried to picture Liliana with him and realized that they must look just stunning together. Kenedie always was good at picturing people together. He seemed nice enough, so she continued on, "I was actually just wondering when Liliana was going to be back. How was your wedding, by the way? I heard about it from...well, I don't really know their names. I don't know anyone's names." She laughed.

"She has gone away on a business trip, unfortunately she will be gone just over a fortnight; then she will be back for the weekend before she is away for another fortnight." He sighed. Granted, it wasn't the most ideal way to spend the first month of marriage, but it was required and they both knew that. They were both Ministry workers, and it was understood that sacrefice was needed.

"Anything I can help with?" He asked her as he picked up his Tetley Tea. "Can I get you a drink?" He suddenly asked. How rude... Where had his manners gone? They certainly didn't get in the floo with Liliana this morning.

Kenedie felt a surge of pity for this overly-busy couple. She knew that, had she just been married (ha, like that was gonna happen anytime soon), she'd want to be spending every waking moment around her husband. "So when are you guys gonna be able to have a honeymoon?" she asked, feeling even more sorry that they surely hadn't been able to have one yet.

"Oh, sure," said Kenedie, "I'll just have a water, thanks." Iain was very polite, she thought.

Iain sighed softly and shrugged as he poured the female a drink. "We don't really know. We need to get this debacle out of the way with the forgein Academies first." He told her as he motioned to the sofa's on the other side of the room. "We need to find a way. . . we need to get a survey done, and then find out reasons why the things that are happening, are well. . . happening." He said with a little grin.

"Once this is cleared, and all parties are involved we might be able to get away for a weekend... maybe a week if we are lucky. However, it would cripple the Department if we were both away right now, since Jake has to leave next week." He sighed softly, but mentally he knew that Iridesca and himself could handle this case.

Glad that she didn't have all that responsibility just yet, Kenedie smiled encouragingly as she sat down next to Iain on the sofa, drinking her water slowly and quietly. She listened to him talk about everything that was going on in their department and realized that her superiors must be extremely stressed out.

"So you guys really don't know why this is happening? I mean, the Headmasters from the others schools are pretty heated about this, right?" said Kenedie, wanting to grasp what was going on fully.

Iain nodded. "They are. They are as much in the dark as we are." He paused, scowling slightly. "I think." He sighed. "Basically, so far we haven't stopped anyone from transfering or picking the school that they wish too for their children. However, the Beauxbaxton's and Durmstrang Headmaster's think that these are too lax, as they are loosing students to Hogwarts.

"This means, that while we are obviously pleased that parents recognise the ability of our own school, that the relations with the countries which are losing students and young minds, could become a problem." Normally, this would be kept a secret, the doubts and such, but all of the employee's were at the meeting, and everything was proclaimed loud and clear there. He was simply, clearing things up.

"So, from what I understand, and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong," Kenedie said, wrapping her head around this issue, "Basically the headmasters of these schools are just like...jealous that Hogwarts is getting all of their kids? I mean, surely they are still getting students, so it isn't like their schools need to shut down. More or less, they are just not liking the attention Hogwarts is getting?"

Kenedie raised her eyebrows. She remembered that meeting. Things had gotten really intense, what with the headmaster of Durmstrang having such a temper. She nearly rolled her eyes just at the memory.

"It is more than that, however I think that they could be weary of the reasons that parents are willing to send their children further from home... I think, that the main reason is they don't know why students are being transfered half-way through their education. Students that have started from the first year are not in evaluation... particularly." He wondered if he was even helping to clarify this. "Does that help?"

Trying to show that she really wasn't stupid, Kenedie nodded. "I mean, I get the basis of this. Enrollment is what a school runs off of. And it IS sort of odd that parents are suddenly willing to send their children farther away, but if they think that Hogwarts is a better school, how are these other schools going to complain to us? We have an excellent magical educational system going on. I have read so much about Hogwarts because Asher, that is my little brother, is transferring in in his fifth year this year from Westgate...that's in New York City, it's a smaller school. But I read up on Hogwarts, and it seems superb. That's the only reason I let him move here with me. My parents are still in New York, but Asher wanted to come with me."

Kenedie smiled at the talk of her brother. She was very proud of him, and very thankful that he had moved with her. Being alone in a new place, no matter how excited she was about finally being in England after years of dreaming about it, was scary. She was glad to have him with her.

Iain nodded. "This is exactely what we need to try and figure out. Which, over the next week-fortnight we are going to be brainstorming for the survey. All divisions on full brain-wave-mode." He grinned, being silly for a few moments. "Basically, we need to find out if it is something about the teachers, the grounds, the safety. . . Etc. We need to find this out -- from students like your brother -- so that we can colate and then tell the Headmaster's so that they can try and improve. then, we can say we have done our best."

Kenedie scoffed slightly at the other schools. "I don't see how it should be OUR responsibility to improve THEIR schools, but I mean, whatever makes them happy, I guess. Well, once Asher starts school, I'm sure he'd be happy to give an opinion. He loves talking." She laughed. "Plus, he'd wanna do whatever he can to help out with a bunch of trouble like this."

She thought for just a second. "It still just kind of upsets me that just because Durmstrang and Beauxbatons need improvements, they are coming to us and trying to get us to figure out what is wrong. I mean, when does Hogwarts ever run to them to ask for pointers?" She snorted.

Iain grinned. "Sweetheart, Hogwarts doesn't go to them because it doesn't need them. They do. However, thats simply like asking why the Alpha of a pack should ask its pack members for advice. It just doesn't happen. However, we are here to keep the relations between our Ministry and country and everyone else's habitable and safe... So. Basically, this is our job." He said, as he shrugged his shoulders and took another sip of his tea.

"Yeah," said Kenedie, mulling over everything he had just said, "I guess that is our job. International cooperation and what not. I guess it's really our job to keep up a good face for the Ministry." She laughed, "We have to keep the drama to a minimum."

She thought of all the hard work that Liliana, Iain, Iridesca, and all her other superiors must really be doing to fix this and felt sort of bitter toward the other schools. Her colleagues were being overworked because some other headmasters couldn't keep their enrollment up? Seemed ridiculous to Kenedie.

Iain nodded with a laugh. "I guess it is." He sighed, as he reached the bottom of his mug. Clearly, it was telling him that his break was over and that it was now time to work. Obviously. "Well Kenedie. It was lovely meeting you." He gave her a smile as he stood up. "You are welcome to come and talk to me in my office at any point. My door is always open." He told her with another smile.

Glad to have made a new friend, Kenedie stood up and smiled at him, "It was great meeting you too, Iain," she said. As he walked out, she sat down and muttered "Accio...whatever book I'm reading." The book zoomed toward her and she smiled, sitting down to read for the remainder of her break. It was a Muggle book, but she didn't care. It was always funny to read about their strange interpretations of magical creatures. "Honestly, a love story about vampires?" Kenedie muttered to herself as she put the book down a few minutes later. Anyone walking by could have seen the book cover, a pair of hands hodling a bright red apple.

Jenkins wandered into the break room....for yet another break. He saw a girl reading a book. Her name was......he was hopeless with names. So he smiled and gave her a nod. Walking over to the counters he grabbed a mug and filled it with steaming tea. Never one for reading he stood by the big 'windows' and gazed out, sipping his tea.

Marie walked into the break room, looking over to the kitchenett she found exctly what she was looking for, tea. Quietly she walked over and poured herself a cup. Sipping her tea she leaned on the counter. There wasent alot of people in the room but she did notice a man standing next to one of the big windows. "I should probably start getting a little bit more aquanted with the other emploees." She thought. She had been with the department for nearly two weeks but kept to herself alot seeing as she was rather shy. Walking over she held her hand out to the man. "Hello, Im Marie." she said.

Jenkins turned his head at the sound of a voice, startled he set his tea on the counter and grasped her hand, "Marie, pleasure to meet you, I'm Jenkins, Jenkins Z. Vaughn the third."
