Kate blushed as Edi complimented her.
"Why Thank you" she blushed. She noticed Edi move his chair closer towards her and smiled straight at him.
"So, Why the Locked Room Edi, or do you prefer Edilson?" she asked, trying to make conversation with the new man.

Argh. Her head was buzzing as she entered the breakroom. Which might of been a clear sign as to not having coffee. But ignoring the evident sign of discomfort that her temples were showing, she poured herself a rather large cup of espresso, and dumped in two heaped teaspoons of sugar. Running an agitated hand through her long brown hair, Alyss eyed up the people who were talking around her...

And then turned so her back was facing them all.

Just recently she hadn't been happy with any of the employees in her department. They all seemed a little... Stereotypical. Well, the men liked to flirt, and the women just giggled along and let them do it. Which was exactly what was happening at that time. Why couldn't there be more people like Kayla around? Her friend had been one of those people that Alyss could look up to [enough with the short jokes] and feel somewhat akin to her. But... No. All the females here lapped up the attention as if they were more than just part of these men's hobbies

It sucked big time.

Scratching his chin, Edi thought for moment.....
"The Locked Room" there wasn't a solid reason behind why he chose it... he found the room very mysterious & wanted to discover it..
"I always find it very mysterious Kate, maybe that's why I chose it.." Edi told, yawning. "What about you?" He said, raising an eyebrow & sipped his coffee calmly..

There she was! The lady Edi met at the Leaky Cauldron... Why does she always look so bothered and irritated? Straightening a bit, Edi stared at her for moment, wondering what could be wrong...

Maybe he needs to someday invite her over at his place and cook something for her and perhaps give her a mini-concert.... However, this wasn't the right time...he barely knew her. But..but he really found her interesting...not like the others...different & unique....

Realizing that he had been gazing her for quite sometime, Edi quickly looked down at the cup he was holding..Empty... he wanted more coffee!!

Ugh. The espresso had no taste. Maybe she'd go and fine some other department to have coffee in... Kingston works at level three, and Winter in level six... Winter was probably her best bet. Closer and all that. But him being a division head and all that, maybe he wouldn't have time for her?

Turning around and placing her cup on the side, she gave a quick look around of the room, and froze. Why was he looking at her? Glaring at the top of his head, she stalked out of the room, her heels making the retreat somewhat.. More stalky, and then slammed the door behind her.

Ooh. It made quite a nice sound. Half tempted to go back and slam it again, Alyss grinned, but then went back to her place of work.

As the woman slammed the door, Edi couldn't help but grin.... she was something.. & probably the first woman Edi didn't have the guts to talk with. This made him more & more attracted to her...... Shrugging, Edi grabbed another cup of coffee and lounged on a chair with his eyes closed & a smile plastered on his lips..completely forgetting that there were two other people waiting for him to return....

Kate nodded, she had very much the same reasons as Edi.
"Well, I too enjoy the mysteriousness of the room but there's something else, something just draws me to the room" she said, thinking. She could never figure out just what that something was.

Kris smirked, glad she was showing interest in him being from Germany. He didn't think it was all that interesting, but at least someone else did. It did have its ups and downs, but still.

Talking to a lovely lady made it all the more interesting.

"Germany's a little darker," he said. "That's why I was in the Law Enforcement over there, so I got into Law Enforcement easier when I moved here. But, they needed some help in here, so I took the transfer they offered because of my experience in here too."

Aha, the new addition was a ladies' man too. Very interesting.

Kris held out his hand to shake the other new employee's hand. It was nice to see a new male in the department, rather than trying to find Blake all the time. Where was he anyway? Hmm.

"Nice to meet you mate," he said, taking a firm grip with his hand. "I'm Kris Atkins. Which division do you work in?"

"Good to meet you, Kristofer," Donovan said as the newcomer sat down and introduced himself. Not big on nicknames as he certainly didn't like them on himself, he opted to call him by his given name. Wondering just what division the man worked in as he only knew that he didn't work in the Locked Room, he opened his mouth to ask but quickly shut it as Kate asked him what he was thinking. The Time Room. Nodding solemnly as Kristofer voiced the difficulties of the job, he remembered the accident they had in that division several months ago. But as he was unsure if the new employee was privvy to such information, he thought it best to keep his mouth shut. It was already bad enough that he had to drag his past self around Diagon Alley and had to keep the truth covered up. It was probably best not to bring it up again, even though they were all Unspeakables in the room.

Glancing back down at his paper, his eyes scanned a few of the articles and he frowned slightly as he looked over the Quidditch scores. He still could not get into the sport. It just wasn't the same as Quodpot. Looking up from his paper again, he watched with slightly narrowed eyes as Miss Springs and Mrs. Smilnog seemed to be getting along a little too well with their new Locked Room employee. Siiigh. If they were going to be extra flirtatious upon just meeting the man and they were only in the break room, Donovan did not want to think how they would behave under the effects of the Locked Room - it was almost like breathing in a low-dose love potion all day. Or maybe they were just still feeling the effects from being in the room for a long period without a break.

His eyes flickered back from the workers to his paper until he sat up with a start as he was startled by the sound of a slamming door. Donovan looked around curiously but noticed that it had not been one of his employees who had slammed the door - which was a good thing for he did not tolerate such unprofessional behavior in the workplace, even if it was the breakroom. But who it was he was unsure since he hadn't noticed anyone else enter the room having been a little too absorbed in the news. But now back to his employees.

Ahem.

"Edilson, why don't we go over a few things about the Locked Room before we go back?" Donovan said to the man sitting not too far away and gestured him over to his table. If they had any hope of getting much more work done they'd have to head back soon.

Kate listened intently as Kris told her about Germany. It sounded interesting.

"Darker? In what way?" she asked, making sure she fully understood what he meant. She smiled as she spoke, not wanting to seem rude to the newcomers.



Kate looked up as she was speaking to Kris, Donovan was looking at her over his paper. She looked at him intently, wondering what he was thinking.

"Pleasure to meet you, Kris!" Edi said, enthusiastically. Sipping his coffee, Edi continued, "I've recently joined The Locked Room..What about you?" He said with a smile. "Kris, I think you should visit me someday at my place..." Edi paused and turned around... "&...my boss's calling, see you around." Edi said as he walked over to Mr. Calrissian.

"Of course, Sir. I already need to catch up a lot, don't I?" He said with chuckle and sat next to Donovan, still holding the coffee cup. He was nearly clueless about The Locked Room & what they were supposed to do..

DH was walking from the Planet Room towards the Break Room. When he opened the door he was a bit startled when he saw that there are plenty of Employees over here.

He looked around, sensing if they are in a busy mood and saw his co-Division Head, Donovan of the Time Room.

He nodded and said, "I see you are quite busy here, am I bothering you all? Donovan?" he said looking at the others.

He wasn't sure what he was doing here but it was very comforting here than the cold Planet Room. He hesitated a bit but proceeded without waiting for the response to what he had asked.

He sat by the side table. He whipped his wand and flicked it to conjure a cup of hot cocoa and a basket of crumpets. He looked at the lots and gestured if they wanted some, "Do you want cocoa? Donovan how were you?" he said taking a sip from his cup of cocoa, "I haven't had time to have a chat with you for a while."

He looked around again, "Tell me. Haven't you seen some of my employees here?" he asked and them took a sip of cocoa.

"Thanks,"said Violet grinning even wider. She was glad to have made a new...friend. She sat down and had a another bite out of her cake. "Well....you will find out soon," she said tapping her nose as a secretive guesture.

Then he went so she baid him goodbye still smiling.

Donovan smiled warmly at Edilson as he promptly came over, and he set his newspaper down on the table. "Although I do expect a certain decorum in the workplace, there's no need to be quite so formal with me. Feel free to call me Donovan," he said with a light chuckle, appreciating the amount of respect Edilson already showed on the first day. It gave him quite a good first impression although it did feel a little weird being called 'sir' even if he was his supervisor. After all, the man couldn't be much younger than him.

"Just a few basics," he began. "I know that you've already signed a confidentiality agreement when you were given this position, but I'm required by law to repeat that as an Unspeakable, you are under no circumstances to discuss anything that takes place or is spoken about in any area of Level Nine. The things we study, research, and develop are extremely confidential and must be kept that way. Not only would you be immediately dismissed if you break this confidence, but there would be legal ramifications as well. If you find yourself in a position where you must say something, let me know. We have specific protocol for that." Finding himself in that situatioin last winter, Donovan was certain it wouldn't be the last though he took steps to minimize such events.

And now with the boring, legal stuff out of the way, Donovan intended to discuss Locked Room specifics. But before he could say anything, his attention was diverted as another person walked into the break room. "Hello, DH," he said warmly to his fellow Division Head. "No bother. We're just taking a break and I'm filling my new employee in on a few things before we get back." Donovan gestured towards the younger man sitting with him. "This is Edilson Mills... and this is DH Smith, head of the Planet Room. I trust you know the ladies?" he asked as they had been here some time. "And Kristofer..." did he say his last name? He probably had but it had slipped Donovan's memory for the time being. "He's also a new employee in the Time Room."

Introductions out of the way, he nodded at DH. "Sure, some cocoa sounds good thanks." He figured he still had a little time for a drink while he discussed the rules with Edilson and before they had to go back to work. "I'm good... busy with work. You?" He grinned at his colleague. DH was probably about as busy in his department as Donovan was in his own. Such was the life of a Division Head - little social life. Though he was now trying to take intentional steps against that, and maybe DH would benefit from that as well. "I heard about this new establishment called The Ten Bells the other day. I'm thinking of heading over there when I get my research caught up," whenever that would be, "Why don't you join me sometime?" He glanced and nodded at the rest of the people in the break room, meaning that last sentence for them as well. It might be good to get to know his fellow employees outside the stress of the workplace.

Shrugging, he said, "Sorry, I haven't seen any Planet Room people in a while." Then he turned back to Edilson. "Okay, about the Locked Room. First you need to know that there are some strange... properties about the room. It's very similar to being under the spell of a love potion. It might not hit you right away, it's pretty gradual, but if you start to feel lightheaded or... flirtatious, Please let me know right away. That's why we need to take frequent breaks throughout the day, so we aren't under the influence of the room." Donovan cleared his throat lightly. It was always a bit of an uncomfortable subject for him, but always more so when telling the females. "Currently we are researching the effects of love as a defense against the Unforgivable Curses. It's manufactured, so it most likely wouldn't have the same effect as natural love, but we'd like to develop it as a protection. It's slow-going, but we've made some progress. Any questions so far?"

DH nodded when Donovan said that he was just orienting the new employee. DH felt a hint of jealousy that the Time Room and the Locked Room got new ones. Some of his employees have gone AWOL and he was left with a handful of helpers.

He approached the bunch of people when he was introduced to the group. He extend his hand to the two new ones, "Daniel Henry Smith. But you can call me DH." he said shaking the hands of Edilson and Kristofer, then he cleared his throat "Like what Donovan said, I am the Head of the Planet Room, we are kind of busy right now, but once we have wrapped up the research we are doing, you are free to visit us and have fun." he said. He then looked at the ladies and smiled, "How are you, ladies?" he said.

Daniel then flicked his wand and gave a cup of cocoa to Donovan. He also handed a small basket of crumpets to him. "How about you guys?" he said looking at the others.

"We are very, very busy." he said. For the couple of weeks the incident in the Planet Room had been out of control. It is a good thing that his trusty employees are there to contain it to a minimum. The research to fill up all the missing information was being replenished and all is well. And his colds are nearly gone at the moment.

The Three Bells. He had never heard of it. Since he became the Division Head he had not seen any socialization for a while. "The Three Bells? Where was it?" DH sighed in disbelief. "I can't believe I've never heard of it." he said. He must go and have some fun. That invitation is very very tempting. "That sounds cool. I really need a break. The Planet Room is in a very busy mood at the moment, but we are almost on the wrap. When do you think we could go there." he said as he take a sip off his cup.

Just like his father, Edi had a habit of calling Sir or Ma'am if he didn't know the person well or simply out of courtesy. "Donovan.....right!" He said & nodded with a chuckle. Edi looked at Donovan fixedly and wondered if he should take notes but decided against it. "Yes, I am aware of the agreement & the secrecy, however, I wasn't fully aware of the legal implication. Thank You!" Edi said politely. He sighed with relief, cookies for Donovan that he repeated the legal details again or Edilson would be fired by tomorrow. As a matter of fact, he had plan of wadding in Trace with what he did on his first day around the clock...phew..

Edi glanced around & smiled at the ladies while Donovan conversed with DH. He quickly diverted his attention back as the division head proceeded further, "Flirtatious?" Edi's eyebrows raised & he chuckled lightly. It would be hard for him to know when he was not feeling flirtatious. Grinning to himself, Edi straightened up a bit.. "The room is quite fascinating." He thought, glad he choose it as Love was something Edi was very fond of.

Unforgivable Curses? Another interesting point! "OH! The research sound very interesting. Please proceed, no questions." Edi said with a nod.


Edi stood up from his chair & shook Daniel's hand firmly, "As Donovan said, I am Edilson Mills, joined today." He said smiling broadly. Cocoa? Did some just offered him Cocoa? Edi couldn't pass this offer..nuhuh! Actually, he never says NO to food & it doesn't matters if he is hungry or not. Food or perhaps eating is something Edi is seriously passionate about. "I'll like some Cocoa!" Edi said grinning.."& I'll definitely visit The Planet Room, DH" He added.

Kris sighed as he ran a hand through his hair. Considering he wasn't really supposed to talk about the specifics of it being dark, he'd have to skim the highlights of it and figure out what he could and couldn't say.

"Let's just say," he began. "That magic was used in other ways, for certain cases. Most curses were accepted for duelling in school; even the Unforgivables here were used, but only two out of three. Just not the place you wanted to be sometimes."

He sighed. Meh. Their secrets in the Ministry? Were like the ones here, that's a definite yes. But some were just too frightening to outsiders.

Kris laughed slightly at his enthusiastic approach and introduction. He seemed to be a little hyper. New job nerves, or was that just his personality?

"Pleasure's mine," he said. "I'm a worker of the Time Room. The ticking's grown on me though, so it doesn't drive me insane like it did others."

And he just got invited over to Edilson's place. Wow, that was definitely taking control and reaching out first. Too bad he beat Kris to the punch. Dang.

"Your place, eh?" he said. "Sounds good mate. Give me a time and date and we'll get it worked out. My place is open too."


Smirking slightly at Donovan's slip of his name, Kris decided he was going to help him out a little bit.

"Atkins," he coughed slightly. He smiled at the Division Head, hoping not to get on the bad side. Just helping him out, really.

Kate nodded, she got the feeling there were other things as well, but knew about restrictions.

"I see" she answered. She took a sip from her cup again before speaking.

"What's it like to holiday in Germany?" she asked, thinking of her next vacation.

"Oh, Atkins... right," Donovan nodded as Kristofer offered his last name, and it sounded familiar. He probably had said it earlier, but now that he said it again, Donovan was sure to remember it.

"Thanks, DH," he smiled as he accepted his steaming cup of cocoa from the Division Head. Taking a sip slowly so as not to burn his mouth, he glanced back at his company around the table. "Oh... no, it's The Ten Bells," he corrected as he took the crumpets. Those looked delicious. He took one from the basket, then slid it to the center of the table for the others. "I believe it's just outside Diagon Alley..." he answered slowly, thinking as he took a bite of the crumpet. "I hear it's a pub for both Wizards and Muggles, so no magic, but it sounded fun and relaxing. We all need some time away from our work, Am I right, DH?" He had a pretty good idea that his fellow Division Head was just as devoted to his research as he was. Shrugging, he took another sip of his cocoa. "Maybe this weekend? We'll see how much work we get done this week, though."

Donovan watched as Edilson listened intently to him. It seemed as if he was really interested and understood so far. Good, he would probably be a fast learner and very adept worker. "So right now, we're altering the ingredients of love potions to see what makes it more potent and most similar to natural love. Then we're placing the potion in lockets which are attatched to plants that are then subjected to the curses. Ultimately, we'd like to develop the most potent protection to be able to be worn in something such as a locket for human protection." Finishing the last of his cocoa, he stood. "Well, Locked Room employees," he addressed the group. "We should get back to work. Kristopher, good to meet you, DH, nice to see you. Both of you have a good day." And Donovan walked out of the break room, headed back to work.

Kate nodded and followed Donovan out of the Break Room.

Sophia was still relatively to new to the Ministry, but even more so, she was newer to the Department of Mysteries. Clicking her way down the corridor, she somehow managed to find the Break Room without too much trouble. Beginner's luck, she told herself.

Entering the room, she was surprised to find it relatively empty and in decent condition. Perfect room for a celebration. Removing her wand casually, she flicked her wand to straighten a few of the seats, cleaning up some of the little mess there was. Her employees did seem to be well-mannered, in taking care of their own break room. Unless maybe it was that the room was underused. Sighing, she flicked her wand lazily once more, conjuring a moderately sized banner which stated, "Congratulations Reagan!" in flashing purple and black print.

Once done, the twenty eight year old propped herself against the wall, her heel casually resting on it, as she waited for the first bout of her employees to enter.

Renaudo thought he was first to the break room, which surprised himgreatly considering how new he was. Nevertheless, Connor pushed open the door and entered.

There was only one person in there already, and Connor didn't recognise her. But feeling rather confident, he walked right up to her..

"Hi, Im Connor Renaudo and Im new here," Connor said extending his hand

Sophia was humming quietly to herself as her chocolate brown eyes surveyed the room for anything she might have missed. The sudden door opening though broke her reverie as she affixed her gaze at the newcomer, biting her lower lip softly when she didn't recognize the young man. Perhaps new? No matter, he isn't bad looking . . .

Ah, just as she suspected. He IS new. But where did she place a Connor Renaudo? Her memory was failing her... Time Room? Brain Room? Planets? No... No... it definitely began with a P, but not Planets... Something to do with Divination, Sophia was sure of it.

"Pleasure to meet you, and welcome, Connor," The brunette greeted, faking a smile (but she was so practiced in the art of fake smiles, you couldn't tell). "Sophia Anne Vivaldi. Department Head." And apparently not AS new as he was, she thought, eying his hand speculatively for a moment for accepting the handshake.

Kristofer had gotten wind of the Reagan celebration party, and swiftly made his way towards the breakroom. Before he entered, he paused and adjusted his tie - it would be a bad impression on his new boss.

He pushed the door open to see the new Department Head and the other employee he had seen in the hall. The smile across his face was sincere, and he nodded once to each.

"Hello," he said. "Ms. Vivaldi - it's a pleasure to finally meet you."

Stacey-Ann had only just found out about the celebration party for reagan in the break room and made her way in and looked about for somebody to chat to it was difficult because most of the people she had met already were in different divisions on different floors

Isabelle walked into the break room slowly and glanced around the room, Smiling happily when she saw the vending machine. Today was her first day at work and she had forgotten to eat breakfast so now she was starving. She walked over to the vending machine and got a chocolate frog, and then she went over to one of the numerous tables and sat down on what looked like a particularly comfortable chair. She was to shy to go up to anyone and ask them there name, and so she sat quietly in her chair, hoping that someone would come over to her and say hello because she hadn't met anyone yet.
