"You picked me up!" she exclaimed as she glanced sideways "You can't fool me mister" she told him as she walked alongside him.

Kris's mouth dropped open slightly at the entrance of this other man into the breakroom. And Becca said she was forced to come in here - what? She was already in here when he was. He thought she could have left any time she wanted, but she stayed.

The man was bugging him the most, just waltzing in here and taking her off without a second thought. Kris rose to all of his height, as he wasn't very well pleased.

"Excuse me. Don't you think she needs to go to the medic's station, just in case?"

His scowl revealed his disapproval of this other man just picking her up. What if she had hurt herself by mistake?

Cool your jets Kris, Karma's voice rang in his ears - it was like she was his conscience at times. No need to get out of hand.

He stepped back a little bit, and then crossed his arms, looking down at the two.

Becca watched as Kris stood up to his full height, normally she would have stood in between them, but two things were stopping her, one, she wasn't feeling too good, and two, Brian and Kris, this was not her fight, she swallowed nervously and sat back down on the sofa, this was gonna take a while "I'm fine" she assured Kris "Thanks though" she thanked him as she pulled out her wand to distract herself from the situation she had gotten them into.

His eyes darted toward her wand - did she really think she needed it? Kris was not one to fight period, no magic, no fists, no words, nothing.

"You don't need that," he said, nodding toward what was in her hand.

He turned away from Becca to grab his robe. Carefully placing it on again, he stuck his hand in his pocket to make sure his wand was still there, and indeed it was. There was no use for it now, as he wasn't about to do anything rash at the job.

After rebuttoning his sleeves and tightening his tie, his facial features turned to stone, as he was expressionless. There wasn't much he could do, and fighting meant nothing to him - just a weak excuse to get feelings out of the way.

Don't be stupid, Kristofer. Karma's voice again. Just walk away. If she doesn't want you, there's nothing you can do. Besides, there's a Ministry full of others - or just focus on your job.

Casually, he walked towards the door past Becca and the other man.

"I will see you around, Rebecca."

Kris didn't even bother to look back, as he saw no need to. His robes flowing out behind him, he disappeared down the hall, and out of sight.

Becca looked down at her wand "I'm just playing around with it" she explained, she watched him put his robe on and feel for his wand, glancing at his stony face, she started to feel guilty "Yeah, see ya" she bit her lip and watched him leave, he didn't even look back at her, she stared blankly at the spot he'd been stood in and said nothing as he disappeared down the hall, after he'd gone, she took a breath and walked out with Brian.

With a big grin, Iain pulled the red-headed Division Head into the break room. Allowing an enormous smile to grace his lips for once, he laughed as he hugged his best friend.

"So, he's looking after you then?" He asked, as they moved over to get a drink. Hepicked up two cups, and put a wild berry tea bag in one cup and an earl grey one in the other. "Do you take sugar now?" He asked, as he placed one tea spoon of sugar in his own cup.

Grinning as he pulled her into the room, she hugged him and laughed aswell "Yeah, really well" she nodded "Nah, never have, never will" she leant on the side "But yeah, he's fantastic, have you found anyone?" she asked him interestedly.

"Just checking. Didn't think you did." He said, as he added the hot water and swirled the tea bags around the cups. "Good, so do I get to meet him any time eh?" He asked with a grin as he added milk to Becca's tea. He took out both tea bags, put them in the bin then handed her, her cup. He followed her over to one of the sofa's and then laughed softy at her.

"Well... I'm not sure but I met one of the other division head's yesterday and we went out for lunch -- you know that little Cafe that I always take Cassandria too, the one that's beside the London Eye? -- and then we ended up getting Ice Cream and going for a walk around Diagon Alley." He gave her a goofy smile. "She's really nice."

She smiled "Well, at least you remembered I take milk" When he mentioned Brian, she nodded "Of course, whenever you want" Taking her cup, she walked over to the sofa and sat down, when he mention Cassandria, she nodded "Oh, sounds good, do you like her?" she asked with a small grin "What did you talk about? Come on.. tell me" she grinned.

Iain made a face, and stuck his tongue out at the retreating Becca. He had to laugh though and it was with a grin that he flopped onto the sofa with his best friend. "Good. You should come round to my flat this weekend with him. I'll even make dinner." He said, with a grin at the offer.

Hmm. Did he? The thought only lasted a few seconds before he nodded. "Yes, I think I do. I'm going to ask her out." He grinned a little as she enthusiastically asked about her. "Well, family... past jobs... the Ministry...each other." He said, before he stopped and grinned at her. A single ice cream cone, had turned into easily a two hour long outing.

She grinned "Mmm, I'd like that, and I'm sure he will" she nodded "I haven't tasted your cooking in years" Then he seemed to hesitate to think about her question, but the answer was confident "Hey, nice one, make it memorable" she winked "Oh, the basic stuff and then moving on" Becca grinned "Anything interesting in there?" she asked as her eyes twinkled interestedly.

Iain laughed and grinned. "It's probably even better now." He said with a nod. He knew it was, he just didn't really have that big an ego. "Oh, don't worry... I will." He said, as he threw a wink in Becca's direction. He grinned and nodded. "Yeah, something along the lines of that." He paused and nodded. "Yeah, she's an interesting Lady."

"Oh, I'm sure it can't be worse" she laughed "I know you will" she shook her head "It's just the way you make it memorable" she laughed "Yeah, I bet she is, to get you interested.. that's an acheivement" she nodded "Sounds like you got on well"

Iain gasped, his hand flying to go over his heart as if he was wounded. "You hurt me." He said with an injured voice and a slightl pout before he winked at Becca with a grin. "You can bet on it... and you will get all of the details as well." He grinned some more and laughed heartily with her for a few minutes before he nodded again. "I know.. .right? It's been a good while since I've asked someone out on a date. Should be interesting." He said, as he pondered this fact.

She raised her eyebrows "Oh, no" she said in a slightly bored voice and then grinned "Good, details are good... very good" she nodded and laughed. Imagining him going on a date wasn't totally new to her, but it was disfferent "Mmm, when was the last time? Was it at Hogwarts?" she asked, genuinely interested.

Iain cringed as she actually asked him to try and remember the last date he had gone on. He was a decent looking bloke - and he knew that. It was simply the fact, that after he had left Hogwarts, he had moved to go to a Muggle Academy, and while he had a Muggle family, and a Wizarding family... It was much easier to tell Wizards that his Father's family was muggles, than to tell muggles about the magic in his Mothers house. As such, he'd gone more for the clubbing scene and the "hello-goodbye" that was University 'dating'.

So, as such he assumed that the last person he had dated had actually been in Hogwarts, since he had travelled all over the world with SHC. He groaned and nodded. "Remember the Gryffindor I went out with in seventh year? Yeah... Her. Auqa-Marie...." He had to stop, and think about her last name. "Jett." What was he getting himself into?

Watching him carefully, she smiled. It must have been so long ago if it was taking that long to remember "Oh... yeah.. her" Becca nodded, remembering the girl. She sighed and leant back, taking a sip of her tea "Well, at least you haven't given up on love" she smiled.

"More... A long gap to try and get my education and career in check." He looked at her with a smile. "I need to be able to treat her after all." He winked at her. Iain would never change.

She laughed "Yeah, sounds like you've not changed from the student I knew" she shook her head "Gonna take her out? Buy her jewellery?" Becca asked as she raised her hand and showed Iain the charm bracelet Brian had given her.

Iain nodded quickly. "Of course. Food, jewellery, pets, clothes... Anything she wants, she can have." He told her as he grinned and looked at the charm bracelet that was around her wrist. "Very nice." He told her with a small smile. "So, how long have you know him?"

She smiled "That sounds perfect" looking at the bracelet as he complimented it, her face lit up "It was his grams'" Becca informed Iain "Oh, a while. I can't be sure exactly, but it feels like ages" she nodded "You're gonna love him"

Iain smiled. "I just hope she likes me enough to accept the offer." He told her with a small laugh.

He decided, it was nice to see the girl happy. She had basically been his little sister for years - until Aurelie and Cassandria came along... obviously. He smiled a little more. "That's a lovely thing he gave you then. Look after it." He told her with a smile as he nodded.

"I hope she does, or she'll answer to me" she grinned "And she'll losing out on a great guy" Becca said honestly. She liked it when he was happy and focused on something, he usually got what he wanted "Yep, I'm looking after it very well" It wasn't like Iain had to tell her it was special. She knew.

Iain gave her a grin and then another wink as he pulled her into another hug. "So, you and Brian will be over for Dinner? Any night this weekend, you get back to me okay?" He told her with a grin. "Just owl me, or swing past the office." He nodded as he took both of their empty cups and washed them in the sink with his wand. " I expect you over, no exceptions." He told her again.

She smiled as he hugged her "Yep, of course" she promised "I'll tell Brian and we'll sort out a day" she nodded "Thanks Iain" she smiled, feeling grateful that he was happy and wanted to meet Brian.
