Alexa nodded in response, taking a sip of the water. Putting it down she frowned, "Upset? Whatever for?" Her honesty was valued. Sighing in reply, Alexa shrugged, "Busy...tired...sorta upset" She smiled and took another sip, "Same same" Twisting an old copy of the prophet towards her, she frowned looking at the cover in interest.

Rebecca smiled sadly "Don't worry about it" she shrugged it off "Why are you upset?" Rebecca asked

Lola heard Becky's voice coming from the break room. Clutching a letter, she poked her head into the room. "Hey Becky," she said somewhat sheepishly, sliding into the lounge. "I need to have a word with you," she said somewhat ominously.

Frowning at Rebecca's reply, Alexa took a bite chewing slowly. As she swallowed, she rolled her eyes, "More frustrated." Sighing, she shrugged, "Work...Warren..." She glanced back down at the Prophet, pulling it onto her lap, the front page had been ripped out, and scanning the second page absent-mindedly her eyes fell of a picture of a murderer. Her father's murderer. Swallowing, her eyes grazed through, and she slumped back in her chair pushing the prophet away. "He got out."

Her head snapped up as she heard a voice from the door. Smiling thinly at the woman, she sighed sadly at Becky, "I'll see you later then."

Rebecca nodded "I understand" she smiled "Who?" she asked interestedly as someone called her name "I'll be back in five minutes, don't go anywhere" Rebecca winked at Alexa

Rebecca looked at Lola "Lola" she greeted her as she stood up "Sure" she moved away from Alexa to a quiet corner "What's up?" she asked seeing Lola's expression.

Lola wasn't quite sure how to explain these rapid developments. "I'm sorry for such short notice, but..." She looked down at the letter she clutched in her hand. "Well, I'm getting published! I sent in a rough draft of this children's story I wrote, and this company wants to publish it!" With this, she couldn't contain her excitement. But she hadn't given the bad news yet. "Unfortunately, I can't continue to work here. I need to focus on the book. I'd have told you sooner, but I just found out. I've got a meeting tomorrow!" She stood, waiting to hear Becky's reaction.

Rebecca looked at Lola "Congratulations!" Rebecca beamed "Oh, erm" she frowned a little awkwardly "Great about the meeting, I'm sure I can sort something out" Rebecca smiled a little "I know, I can say you were off sick for your notice" Rebecca smiled broadly.

Lola patted Rebecca on the should. "Thanks! That would be great!" she said, thoroughly grateful for the help. She looked around the break room, a place she rarely ever went. It was quite lovely, she couldn't help but wish she spent a little more time there. "Well, I've got to be going. It's been great," she said, shaking Becky's hand. And she swiftly turned around, leaving the Ministry of Magic behind.

As Becky moved to talk to the woman, Alexa chewed on her lip, the psycho path was out. Of prison. Who in their right mind would let a serial killer out of prison? Clenching her jaw, she opened the article and red through. He'd been allowed to return to his home country? That insane killer that found manic delight in grief and torture was allowed to return home? While her father was dead, gone and she had no idea where he was. Scanning through the article, she rolled her eyes. They'd let him out because there wasn't enough proof. Proof of what? They only had to look at him to know he wasn't stable. Disbelif and anger flooded through her, she ripped the article out and put it in her pocket. If they had released him from prison on lack of reasonable ground, she was going to put that piece of filth back where he belonged. He was going to get exactly what he deserved.

Rebecca smiled sadly "Nice to have had you working here" she shook her hand and watched her walk off

Rebecca turned back to Alexa and sat down "You ok?" she asked her concernedly.

Looking up as Rebecca spoke to her, Alexa jarred out of her reverie, "Yes..yes ofcourse" Hearing the door close, her eyes followed it and then glanced back at Becky, "What was that about?"

Rebecca gave Alexa a searching look but decided to let it go "Oh, an employee moving up in the world" Rebecca smiled a little "well, ex-employee" Rebecca winked at Alexa.

Nathan wandered into the break room, for the very last time, clutching a massive tin of chocolate frogs to leave behind for his colleagues. Something to help take away the taste of the foul coffee they had to put up with on this level. Crikey! - he was even going to miss the coff... - he smiled inwardly – perhaps not. You'd have to be crazy to miss the muck the ministry provided. Maybe he should have just got his poor long suffering colleagues some decent coffee instead of chocolate. ...Ah well.. too late now.

He nodded at Alexa and Becky... “Ladies.”...who were engaged in conversation, giving them both a mischievous smile before heading over to the cupboard and popping the tin inside. A (bit of a rubbish) thank you and farewell (because he couldn't think of anything else to get them) present to all the staff... and a replacement for all the biscuits he had nicked from there over the years.

Rebecca smiled at him "Hello" she saw him put a tin in the cupboard "What's that?" she asked curiously.

He looked back at Becky over his shoulder. “Just a little farewell prezzie.” He winked. “Chocolate frogs.” You could never go too wrong with chocolate.. it was like a universal way of communicating. Nathan had yet to meet anyone who didn't like chocolate.

Deciding to have one last, albeit quick, cup of foul coffee, he set about making it and adding his usual large two spoons of sugar. “I'm leaving.” He explained to both the girls as he went to take a seat with them, stirring his cup on the way. “I just need to collect my things and then I'm off.” He looked at Alexa, sensing that he may well have walked in on a private chat. “You ok, love?” He inquired gently. “I'm not disturbing anything, am?” He asked both the girls.

Rebecca's face fell "You're leaving too" she asked sadly "It seems like everyone is going!" she exclaimed "Not really, I need to work out what it going on" Rebecca said looking concernedly at Alexa.

Watching the banter between the two, Alexa fell silent. And Nathan was leaving as well..."You didn't say..." Frowning, she looked to Rebecca as she spoke, "Going on?" Was it just her or did everyone seem to want to know what was wrong with her. She got up with a sigh, and nodded, "Mmh. Fine" When he asked if he was disturbing anything, Alexa shook her head, "No..not at all. We were just catching up" The ministry wouldn't be the same without him. It just wouldn't be right. "Aw Nathan!" She was going to start crying soon. Everything was changing around her and she couldn't do anything to stop it. Walking up to him, she gave him a tight hug, "I'm going to miss you" She scolded stepping back, "Who's supposed to make me laugh now?" Sighing sadly, she eyed the chocolate frogs, "Is this the bribe?" Laughing, she shook her head, "Where could you possibly be leaving that's better than here?"

Rebecca nodded "You went blank for a while and then you seemed upset" she explained "Journalism?" she guessed wildly at Alexa's last comment.

“Someone else is leaving?” He inquired looking at Becky and taking a sip of his coffee. He nodded to them both. “It was a bit of a spur of the moment thing to be honest. I applied for a job I never dreamed I would be offered. But... ” He was about to go on when he found himself in a tight hug from one of the beloved friends he had made here. He hugged her back, trying to hide the torrent of emotions threatening to engulf. He swallowed when she let go. “I'll miss you too.. all of you.” Shaking his head, he chuckled lightly, partly to hide his own silly emotions and partly when Alexa asked who was going to make her laugh now.

As she eyed the chocolate frogs he chucked one in her direction. “Bride? For what?” He asked. He picked another one out the tin. “Want one love?” He asked Becky. He sat down and took a large gulp of his disgusting coffee. “Yeah.. the Daily Prophet. Working on the paper's layouts” He replied. “An increase in pay for a job I think will be better suited to me than crime fighting.” He grinned broadly – Nathan had never really been cut out for the job. His heart had always spoken louder than his head - you needed to be a lot more cut-throat to spend your days arresting criminals and making sure they paid for their crimes.

Rebecca nodded "One of mine just went" Rebecca sighed sadly "We are gonna miss you" she said "Oooh, yes please" she smiled "Well, MLE doesn't really pay that well, unless you are me or Syd" Rebecca laughed a little.

“Oh really? Who was that?” He asked. It wasn't really surprising that Nathan knew most of the staff on this level considering how long he had been here. He smiled and handed Becky a chocolate frog, deciding to indulge himself as well. He unwrapped it, dipped it in his coffee and took a bite. He laughed at Becky's next words. “Well this job was a godsend for me at first. It certainly beat bar work and trying to scrape together enough pennies to pay my rent every month.” He smiled slightly, nostalgically. His life had changed so much for the better since he started work here.

"Lola" Rebecca replied as she took the chocolate frog "Thanks" she smiled "I get good pay, I get less than Syd but more than a normal division head" Rebecca told him, wondering if he was going to ask why she took a bite of the frog.

He grinned at the mention of Lola – that girl was a real trooper. Whatever she'd gone onto, Nathan was sure she would excel in. “Pleasure.” He said with a wink as she took the chocolate frog. He took another bite of his own as he listened to his colleague. “Is that because you manage more than one division?” He asked. “It's got to be tough that. You must need exceptional organisational skills to keep it all running smoothly.”

Rebecca smiled "Yeah, it is" she nodded modestly "It is hard, but we don't really have much to do at the moment... I have a wierd feeling we are going to be busy soon" Rebecca said before taking a thoughtful bite of the frog.

“It always seems to be like that no matter what department you work in.. things come in waves... you're either rushed off your feet or left twiddling your thumbs with nothing to do.” He took another sip of his coffee, peering over the top of his mug at Becky as he listened to her. “Well I hope it's not going to be anything too stressful if you're right.”
