Syd walked into the breakroom, casting a rather... interesting aura as he did so. He walked over to the beverage station and opened a cabinet, rifling around boxes of napkins, jars of ground coffee, and boxes of tea. He found what he was looking for and pulled out a box, lifting a bottle of honey out of it. Smiling, he turned around and noticed a few rather not so happy faces. The breakroom appeared to be unnerving before he had even arrived. "Just here for some honey," he said, setting the box back into the cabinet. "Yep. See, I like my tea and tea requires honey." Syd stood back up and tossed the jar from hand to hand. He slowly strode around the main area where the plush couches were located. "So remember that," he said, looking around. |
Forrester walked back to the breakroom after his training, he was dying for a cup of coffee. Where is Erin I need to see her before we move out... Forrester thought to himself. Well I guess I will wait her here for a couple of minutes... he thought as he sat down at the nearest chair. |
Shane Dalton quickly walked into the breakroom, her pointy purple shoes clicking at every step she took. It was time for another cup of coffee. Maybe she would spend some time in the breakroom for a while before heading back to work. It all depended on whether the coffee machine was on and if a decent kind of coffee had been made. Okay. Coffee machine is on, she said as she walked over to the counter with the machine sitting on it. She took in a quick breath. Smells good. Might as well have some before it gets cold. She poured out some nice, hot coffee in a coffee mug and sat down at one of the couches that was in the breakroom. She took a sip and quietly sighed, enjoying the coffee's delicous hot warmth. |
Erin walked into the Breakroom and waved at Forrester, hoping she'd have a minute to talk to him. Turning back to Syd she asked "How do you take your coffee?" |
"Actually, I'll take some tea," he said, scanning the tea boxes. "Aha, here we go." Syd picked up a packet containing white tea and set the bag in a mug. He poured some of the hot water from one of the coffeepots into the cup and let the tea steep. "Good and good for ya, ya know," he smiled to Erin. |
"I know, I have to have a cup of Chamomile before I can sleep at night." She smiled, adding Creamer and sugar to her cup and picking up a doughnut. "How has your day been going?" She asked kindly. |
"Well so far," he said, stirring a good amount of honey into the tea. "Things are a bit busier than I thought they would be." He crossed over to the plush sofas and sat down. The tea's steam wafted up in front of his face as he sat, blowing on the hot tea. He took a sip and motioned for Erin to sit. |
Erin took a seat and nibbled on her doughnut. "It's been a long one for me already." She smiled. "I've met with Samantha in Education and someone from the Charms comittee already today." |
"Sounds like you have been busy. I guess that's assumed when you're in charge of a lot of areas," he said, taking another sip of tea. Syd sat back and let the aroma of the tea fill his nostrils. He thought a moment about Erin running around the office. It was the system he had walked into sadly, though perhaps he could help her like he had earlier. "Just make sure you keep your wits about you." |
"I've had an idea about that actually and I wanted to run it by you."Erin said softly. |
"And idea? Well by all means, do tell. I'm open to suggestions," he said, taking a sip of his tea. Syd was open... if it worked for him that is. Though, Erin was running around like a headless chicken already and it hadn't even been that long of a day yet. |
"Well, my idea is this, from what I have seen so far, my teams in The Office for Magical Equipment Control and Improper Use of Magic have pretty good heads on thier shoulders. I'd like to appoint one preson from each of those teams to run the day to day end of things there, that would free me up to spend more time with the other two teams. I would still have my hand in the daily involvement but it would reduce my running around a lot." Erin took a sip of her coffee. |
"Hmm..." Syd said, sipping his tea again. "Well, I suppose we could have a kin' of... surrogate person to run things with you. Not exactly the head, but someone who can keep order and pass out assignments." He looked to her for approval. She'd probably say yes considering how exhausted she looked. He actually felt kind of bad for having to put so much onto her. Not everyone was like him. |
"That sounds really good." Erin smiled. "I would really appreciate the help." Erin took her hair down only to shake it out and quickly put it back up. |
Syd took a long drink from his cup. The honey was mixed perfectly with the light, white tea. He loved the stuff and if people found out, he'd probably get a box of it anytime something went wrong. "Just let me know who you think should do the job, Miss O'Connor, and I'll make sure to take note." |
"Fredrick Hull and Chiara Quorra seem to be the most qualified in my opinion, However saying that Rebecca Todd has openly volunteered to help me in any way she can." Erin replied, sipping her coffee. |
Shane took another quick sip of her coffee as she listened to Miss O'Connor and Mr. Wordsmith's conversation, her eyes looking across the room at a nearby portrait that made a sudden movement. She sighed, now bored at looking at the portrait, and took yet another sip of her coffee. She looked down at her pointy, purple boots and smiled. Oh how she loves those things! |
Syd nodded and saw Shane off sipping her own beverage. He turned back to Erin and sipped his tea. It wasn't as hot now, so he could take bigger sips without burning his tongue. "That sounds fine to me. Though if Miss Todd has volunteered, perhaps ya can find a way to include her too." |
"Erin smiled softly. "Thanks Sid, I should get back to it now." Erin hurried off. |
Shane looked up from her boots and realized that Miss O'Connor had left the breakroom. It was just her and Mr. Wordsmith now. At least until someone else came in for the coffee or for whatever they came in the breakroom for. She stood up from her place on her own little couch and walked over to where Mr. Wordsmith was still sitting. She smiled at him and said, "Long time, no see, eh?" She gave him a wink and sat down beside him. "Mind if I sit here with you for a while?" |
Syd looked to Shane and nodded. He sipped his tea and looked at her as she sat. Young, yes... but seemed pretty wise. She'd be a judge for a while he guessed. "Go right ahead and park yourself where you see fit, Miss Dalton," he said, swirling his tea a bit. |
Shane smiled at Syd and took another sip of her coffee, realizing that her cup was nearly empty. She took out of wand and flicked it at the nearby coffee cup. The coffee cup flew over to where the two of them were sitting and poured out some more coffee in Shane's cup. With another flick, the coffee cup went back in its place. "I hope that you didn't need any coffee," she said, looking at Syd. "I saw that you were enjoying your tea." She looked down at her boots. "How can you drink that stuff?" she asked curiously. |
Syd chuckled at Shane's comment. She wasn't a tea fan, obviously. He'd remember that. It was important testimony on the girl's character. "Well, I find it to be a very good drink. Good, good for you, and this white tea is very light. It takes to fruit juices well," he said sipping again. "But I tell ya, Miss Dalton, I love lemonade more than anything." |
Shane looked at Syd. Yup! That's a tea fan right there, she thought before saying, "I'm a coffee person, obviously. Ever since I drank from my father's cup of coffee back when I was a little girl living in Canada, I was in love with it. ... Lemonade? My, Mr. Wordsmith, you brought back good memories. Lemonade was quite popular in my family. It still is today actually. I've just got all into coffee for certain reasons, it's mainly for morning reasons if you know what I mean." |
"Yes, most people can't seem to get through the morning without a nice cup of coffee," Syd said with a chuckle, downing the last of his tea. "You have a love for lemonade up there in Canada do you?" Setting his cup down on the coffee table in front of them, he chuckled. He was going to have to make some lemonade soon... he had gone long enough without it. |
