Division: International Magical Trading Standard Body |
Finally realizing that he wasn't late at all, but that his watch was broken, Enrico casually strolled into his division's cubicles and headed straight to the back. To his desk. Aaaah, at last. He smiled to himself and dropped his briefcase on the desk before settling down into his swively desk chair. 'My office. Meaning I'm in charge. Of other employees. Niiiiiiiiiice,' he thought, propping his new leather shoes up on the desk and leaning back with his hands clasped behind his head. Rico took a cursory glance about, noting all the other empty, gray cubicles. 'This place is rather drab, isn't it?' he thought again, starting to feel the tiniest bit apprehensive. 'Not at all like the American ministry....' |
Holding her trusty black handbag which looked small but could store even a tent, Susan walked into her new office, ready to take on the world of the Ministry of Magic. She looked around and saw that the entire office was empty. Seems like I'm the first one, she thought. But then, on walking a little more into the office, she heard some noise coming from the Division Head's Office. She decided to go and introduce herself. She walked towards the office and read the Department Head's name written on the board Enrico Antonio Serio. She knocked on the door twice and entered. She saw a dapper young man, about the same age as she was. She smiled at him and went on to introduce herself. "Hello. I'm Susan Peters. I just thought I would introduce myself before I continue with anything. It's my first day here, you see." She said. |

"Oh, hello there," he stood up promptly and smoothed out his robe. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Ms. Peters," he grinned and walked around the desk to shake her hand. "I'm Enrico Serio...or uh, just call me Rico, actually," he added, his American accent evident. "It's your first day here? Mine too!" he chuckled nervously. "Anything...specific I can do for you, Ms. Peters?" he aske as leaned back on the corner of his still empty desk. He was rather pleased to finally meet a coworker and very eager to start work. |

Smiling, Susan shook his hand, "It's a pleasure meeting you...er..Rico," she said, finding it initially awkward to call her department head by his nickname. "Oh, it's you're first day here too, is it?" she said, surprised, "Well then, you must be just as clueless as I am!" she giggled. "I just wanted to come and introduce myself, really. I'll go set up my desk now. Any desk will do, won't it?" she asked. She looked around the empty room and then came to the sign with his name, "That's a rather unusual name you have. My guess is that you're American, aren't you?" she asked. |
Quote:
Clueless. That's one way to put it, Rico thought. "Yes, any desk is fine," he replied, then noticed her glance at something...a sign with his name on it. He hadn't even noticed. "Yes, I'm American," he laughed, as that sounded kind of humorous. "My mother was of Spanish descent, my father was Italian," he added with a grin, not sure what else to say. "What about you? I mean, is this your first job?" |
Emily walked down the hall past Rico's office. She stubbed her toe and flew onto the butt. Her coffee spilt all over her and she pouted. |

He was surprised to find a woman sitting on the floor, drenched in some beverage. Rico squatted down beside her and offered her a hand. "Are you allright miss?" he asked her, concerned for her sake. I mean, she's just sitting there, soaked in coffee....she could've hit her head or something....Rico thought. |
Emily looked up in shock and said"Um..I have no idea."She babbled out. She was amazed by his beauty and was freaking out. She stood up. She tried to focus and dry herself off but she couldn't do it. She sighed with defeat. She decided to lie. She slid her hand into her cloak and broke her wand. She pulled it out said "I think it broke when I fell."She said with a pout. "Can you help?"She said with a slight grin. |

With a look of shock and confusion on her face she rushed behind Rico to find a lady, drenched in coffee, on the floor. "Oh dear," she exclaimed and sat on her toes next to the lady, "Are you alright?" she asked her, concerned. It must of have been a very embarrassing moment for her and she could relate to it very much as she had has the same experience in her first work place! She took out her wand and with one graceful wave of her wand, she was dry again. |

"Reparo," Rico murmured, pointing his wand at the broken one. Her wand looked as if had had a clean break, nothing that a simple charm couldn't fix, and indeed, the two pieces of the wand fused back together seamlessly. "I think that should work, ma'am," he smiled at her. "Although I'm no expert, and you might want to get that checked out." He shrugged, glancing at Susan again. "Like she said, are you hurt or anything?" |
Emily smiled at her new co-workers and took the man's hand as she stood up. She brushed herself off and said"I think I'm fine, just a little hot now."She smiled at the woman and man and said"I'm Emily Barilon."She said with a silly grin. |

"International Magical Cooperation, but still can't rember what dang division."Emily said with a grin. She pulled out a letter and said"I'm in Department of International Magical Cooperation! This isn't it is?" |

Rico ran a hand through his hair, already feeling like a failure on his first day. "Perhaps you just walked into the wrong office? I know the British Seats one is just a few doors down...I saw it this morning...." |
Emmily laughed and sighed."Sorry bout that. 1st day on the job and all."She said with a grin. She waved at them and walked to her compartment. |

"Oh, the American Ministry, is it? That's nice. I lived in America for about two years when I was younger." she said, "I've lived in about......six different countries..." she said, as she tried to recall all the countries, "So how different is it here from the American Ministry?" she asked him. "Yes, I did. At the Human Resources department, tough. I'm good with people so we would look after customer complaint and recruiting of work force etc." she informed. "Yes, we deal in dragon hides and then there's also salamander hide not to mention furs and feathers of different creatures." she nodded. |
"Um... Excuse me, but do you know which way is the bathroom?" Hannah mentally kicked herself for interrupting a meeting. She had memorised her entire floor plan, but she wanted to look around at the other departments, and now she really needed the bathroom! But... WOW! Who is that guy? He's gorgeous! I wonder if he likes English girls, because he's definitely not English! All the while, her face remained in the same expression. She had become good at hiding her emotions at Hogwarts. But, maybe, just maybe, her eyes might betray her. |

He smiled politely at Susan, then turned to the other woman, still smiling. She'd obviously asked him a question, and there was something unique about her eyes, but unfortunately, he didn't know how to reply. "Er, sorry ma'am, but I don't....uh, I don't recall seeing one on my way in," he shrugged slightly. "I'm rather new here myself, but...maybe you could try the atrium? Or the cafeteria area?" he trailed off, as those were the only two places he'd really seen of this ministry so far. |
"Oh, ok thanks. You're new here too? And this is the Department of International Magical Cooperation, isn't it?" Hannah was blabbing, and she knew it and felt really stupid. "Anyway, I musn't interrupt your meeting! So, the cafeteria, you say? Thanks. By the way, what's your name?" She asked timidly, speaking to the guy. "And what's your name?" she asked the woman, to whom she felt bad for ignoring. |

"But otherwise, you could always go to the cafeteria restroom." she nodded. |
"Thanks! I'm Hannah, by the way. Hannah Granger" (and, because she got weird stares whenever she didn't, she added), "Not related by blood to Hermione Granger." |
