As you enter the room, you notice that a buffet has been set up filled with lots of different foods, both magical and muggle. There is a small dance floor, just in case anyone decides they are in the mood to dance. Soft music is playing at the present time, but the request lines are open and any style of music you may wish to hear is available.
This is a little social get together for all the employees of the Department of Magical Education, so that you can all relax after work and get to know one another a little better and just get away from the stress and pressures of the worksite for a little while. There will be more gatherings planned in the future, so come and enjoy! The party won't last forever. | |

I haven't seen her for a while - she look good, as always. Reaching them, he was suddenly at loss for how to greet her. He couldn't kiss her for two reasons: a) they were at work and it was highly unprofessional and b) he didn't really feel like it - he didn't think it was appropriate to kiss someone whom he hadn't seen for a while, even if she was his girlfriend.
But then, what do I do? I can't shake her hand since that's way too formal and hugging is definitely out of the question since I just don't do hugs... Finally settling for a large grin, he greeted Lucy and put his hands in the front pockets of his jeans awkwardly as he tried to appear ok - and failed miserably. "Heya Lucy," he said, using her proper nickname and not his usual 'Luce'...

Lucy was surprised by the unwanted interruption but only until she saw who had done it. "Right. I'm glad, because this is a party that I wouldn't want to be late for." she replied, still adressing her words to her boss.
The way she looked at Jake, though, was what could be considerate unprofessional. She was amused by his actions and she could certainly imagine what was going to through his mind. She liked to know she had that sort of power on him. Afterall, he had been the one coming to greet her and not the other way around. "Hey, Jake." she decided not to make things easier for her boyfriend but she was smiling, the type of smile he liked to see on her face: the kind of smile that tend to reach the eyes. He could easily tell she was teasing him for real by the warm, yet higly polite and professional, way she talked to him: "How do you do? I haven't seen you in... oh, I don't know, it's been ages.." she chuckled.
When nobody else was looking at him, for a metter of seconds, she winked at him. It was a message. I'm not going to make things easier for you, love. | |
