Gerald entered the room briskly as he ran his hand through his sleeky hair. He looked around the place. All the desks were cleaned and placed in the proper place. But no one was there seems like he was the first person. He spotted his ornated and labelled desk which was in the very front row. He smiled to himself and sat on the desk. Starting to think of today's work as he picked up the some parchements and quill.

Lia walked into the room thery confident,with a sly smile spread on her face.Her clothes were in perfect order,she was wearing a black and red dress that matched her shiny hair.Her blue eyes scaned the room and discovered there was only one man in it,she smiled to him and moved to her desk who seemed to be in the front row.

The room seemed to be pretty organised,she liked that.She put some parchments in their place and thought she should get to know her co-workers before actually starting to work.She moved over to the man and gave him her hand for him to shake.

"Lia Black."she said looking straight into his eyes and smiling.Althought she had been here for 3 years,she didn't seem to know all of them.

Almost at the end of his assignment work Gerald heard a new voice near to him. He looked up and saw there was a young lady standing near his desk and held her hand to shake.
He pushed his hair aside which fell on his face as he smiled at her and gently shook her hand.
"Hi, Nice to meet you. I'm Gerald Young" he looked back at her blue eyes.

"Nice to meet you too..."she gave him a charming smile,the way his hair fell seemed to have quite an effect on her.

"So,what department,do you have on your behalf?"she asked thinking that this could be quite an interesting relationship.He seemed older,so he must have better connections than her and in case of need,he could help her.She smiled to this thought.

Gerald smiled as his dimple showed up. It was always interesting to speak with someone new. Especially the frank one like him.
"Well, I'm in the Magical Sports and Games Department. And what about you?" he asked and ran his hand through his hair to set them right.

Amarinda walked casually into the office and placed her jacket over the back of the swivel chair at her desk. She smiled as she saw the photo of the phoenix to the left of her, and one of a brightly coloured scalamandar to her right. Both had been taken on her travels.

Sitting down, she moved some folders around and checked her personal intray. Glancing up she asked the others, "Any news? What needs sorting today?" She picked up a quill to note any jobs that might need to be done together with another department.

"Well,I don't know about you,but no work to do about the Magical Creatures,as far as I know."she said answering both their questions.The guy Gerald Young seemed to be showing of his best features with no effort...She than turned to see the other women who had entered and waved at her,even though there wasn't such a big space between the two of them,she was sometimes weird like that.

"I'm Lia Black.Nice to meet you."she said smiling widely as she scaned her.

Mackenzie stepped away from her desk and walked toward the desks of the department liaisons. She held the Minister's memo in her hand and asked, "Has anyone gotten in touch with the Head of Magical Law Enforcement about the press conference? I'm going to take care of contacting the cafeteria about catering the event, but in order to do that, I need to know the date and time. So when that is established by whomever is working on it, which I presume would be the liaison to that department, could you please let me know so that I can ensure that the food and drinks will be delivered at the appropriate time? Thank you! Oh! And also, has the liaison to the Department of Mysteries sent that memo down to Doyle Branxton that Minister Cooper asked for? If you find yourself too busy, I don't mind helping. Just come stop by my desk and let me know!" With a kind smile, Mackenzie turned slowly on her heel and walked back to her seat in front of the Minister's office. Although she enjoyed the desk that came with her position, she often felt quite removed from the other the Level 1 workers. She decided she'd have to wonder out from beyond her desk more often to really get to know some of her co-workers. But first, she decided to finish up some notes on her catering ideas for the press conference.

Amarinda nodded. "I'll go and check for International Cooperation referrals in a minute then."

Seeing the other woman wave, Amarinda nodded back with a smile. "Hi Lia. I'm Amarinda, Amarinda Jackson." She ran her fingers loosely through her curly hair and smiled, her twinkling.

Mackenzie caught Amarinda's attention away from Lia. Her speech reiterated the work that needed to be done. Amarinda slid into her chair once more and flicked through her papers, checking what she had finished the day before. Picking up a quill, she wrote a list of work to be done and got up to check the inbox for any departmental work.

Gerald had completed his assignment while he spoke with Lia. All he need was Minister's approval so that he had gone through the draft once again as he replied to her,
"Oh, Magical Creatures..very well"
He collected the parchments from his desk and continued, "But sorry to say this, I've very less interest on Magical creatures..it was my least scoring sbuject in my school days" he laughed. Sitting next to such a nice lady is always fine, he thought.
He heard another voice from distance. He looked over Lia and saw another woman who looked like so work oriented. He waved at her and said,"Hi".
He was ready to get up to finish up the work.

"Too bad."she said smiling and moved over to her desk.Everyone seemed to be so busy,she actually felt bad there was no work to do involving her liason.'Oh well...I'll start organizing the things on my desk...'
But she finished it too fast...
"Do any of you need help with work?I could help..."

When Gerald returned from the Minister's room after he got the approval of his first assignment and knows his second assignment, he heard Lia's helping tone.
"Well, there you got the assignment to do",

he smiled and gave her department's assignment paper to her as he walking briskly towards his desk to view his next work.

"Oh thanks!"she grinned and took the paper from him.She gave him one last smile and than turned to her desk to start working on her assingment.She was happy she finally had something to do and won't just stay admiring the others.She got out her quil and started writing the note for the head of the Magical Creatures department.

"No problem." he replied with his trademark smile. As he had another assignment in his hand he finished up the first one with the small correction as he sent it to the respective Department. He stretched himself after he finished his second one too. He was supposed to go and get the approval of the Minister. But he realised he need some refreshment. But going alone to the Cafe seems boring. He scratched his chin.

Isaac slowly opened the door leading to his desk... and everyone else's desks. Oh, how he still dreamed of the day he would have his own private office... And a secretary! A private office would be nothing without a secretary. He slowly, silently, made his way to his desk, it would not do for the minister to know he was late, not this late. He had spent all night reading yesterday, and therefore hadn't woken up in the morning. Reaching his desk, he sat down, letting out a small smile to the other employees in the room.

Lucrecia Crescent quietly opened the door and nearly dropped dead when she saw all of the other people who arrived before her. Dang it Luce you just HAD to be late on the first day! Shuddering at the thought of making a bad first impression, she found her desk and took a seat, praying to God that the minister wouldn't be harsh about her being so late. There had been an incident involving a stick shift car and a few bodyguards she just happened to be near.

Susan walked quickly, dodging the crowd while putting her small mirror back in her bag. Almost automatically, her hand reached out to open the office door but she found it open. This strangeness made her look up. She remembered it was the first day for a few people. She smiled to herself, thinking of her own first day years ago.

Quickly shaking the thought out of her head, she had much more important things to think of. She strode towards her desk, smiling to people as she went and took her seat, preparing for another day at the ministry.

Gerald came back after he got the approval from the Minister he was fully relaxed and satisfied with his first day work. He let out a relieving breathe as he ran his hand through his hair. OK. Now he need to despatch the second one and following the feedback for the first memo. He didn't have any idea about that Department's work ethics. He smiled back to everyone who were smiled at him.
Seemed everyone was getting busy now.

Katrina paused outside the door,breathing deeply. "Just my luck,late on my first day." She straigtened her navy blue robes and smoothed the matching suit.Sighing deeply,she opened the door and quietly slipped inside.
"I just hope I'm not in too much trouble.Trust my little angel to choose today to douse her baby brother with a bottle of Sleakeeze's hair replenishing potion"she thought,as she headed for her desk and sat down.
After quickly organizing her supplies,she decided she'd go see if there was anything in the inbox for her to work on.
