Piper took out her wand and flicked it. A glass of fresh water appeared in front of her. Threated like a maid... She thought as she got up from behind her desk to offer the glass of water to the old witch.
Something strange had hit Piper suddenly, the determination of the woman and that odd face... It seemed as if she was hiding something. Piper placed the glass of water between the old lady's hand and went back to her desk.She doesn't have a problem with someone casting a charm on her but she doesn't wanted because it would be the first time anyone would try her spell... Piper said to herself.
"Miss Corranda, sorry but I would like to practice the charm my own... I mean I'm one of the best in casting charms as well as being a charm creator... It would be easy enough for me to understand the way the charm works and how to cast it... You can teach it to me if you would like..." Piper suggested as an idea came to her head, after that the old women shouted at ShaiLets see if you are going to accept my offer, Piper thought.

Corranda took the glass of water from the witch, and smiled, showing all of her teeth, including one, gold-plated one. "Thunkkk you. You're well over your five second time limit, though, so no thanks," she said, clearly relishing being attended to.

Corranda looked at the girl with one, raised eyebrow. "My charm," she said, her tones all too flat and clearly displeased, "Is not to be practiced by witches and wizards of all sorts until and unless I have demonstrated it, at least once. What can a poor, poor old lady like me do if you pass my spell off as your own? I won't have any evidence to prove it's my own, no sir-er-er." She shook a fist at the girl, then said, "You can be the first one to learn it once the Ministry has approved it, and given me full credit for it, though; of course you can. I would love to teach it to you."

She took another sip of the water and then said loudly, "Yours tastes even more like seaweed - but with pepper added."

Brianna shook her head, "You are right, of course, I haven't practiced this spell yet." She looked back down at the clipboard. "Is there anyway we can contact either Royda Dames or James Melvicks before we try this charm out? We need to verify at least one of their reactions before we allow this charm to be tested." After the woman made the comment about the water, Brianna added, "Would you rather have some pumpkin juice, or some coffee, perhaps?"

Shai was taken aback by the first comment of this woman. But thought that it was best not to acknowledge the first comment made. She took a deep breath and tried to keep her cool.

Shai looked at this woman trying to figure her out. She thought it best not to make her wait to long for a response so she said, "You're very welcome. Is there anything else I can get for you?"

She made a mental note after seeing the way she was responding to Piper and Brianna about casting her charm to find out as much as possible about this woman and what her true motives were. She also tried to get Brianna's attention...she thought that there should be someone from the Accidental Magic Reversal Squad present for the testing of this charm as the woman seemed a bit off her rocker.

Corranda smiled. Yes, she was right: Score one for her.

She nodded, her hat tilting itself to one side at such a dangerous angle that it seemed about to fall off at any given moment, and said, "Yusss. I think you can. We'll just need to send Royda a little nudge, and she'll be here. Or James. Though, of course, I can't really apparate to his house since I don't know where he is. But Royda? Anytime."

She then added, eye narrowed, "No. I did not ask for coffee. I did not ask for Pumpkin Juice. I asked for water. Plain, simple water. If you are out. Of water. I can. Understand." She drained what was left of the water by her side in one, huge sip, and added,

"Still tastes like seaweed. And pepper."

Brianna gritted her teeth, trying valiantly to keep her temper under control. A muscle in her cheek twitched, and she covered it with a smile, an absurdly fake smile, but it was the best she could do in the circumstances. She conjured a glass of water and handed it to the woman. "Here you go, another glass of water. Don't worry, we won't run out anytime soon." As she said this, her mind raced back to Miss Melvicks first comment, "Give her a nudge, you say?" Finally, there was a loophole in this madness, "Why don't you apparate to wherever she is and bring her back, we'll have everything set up by the time you get back."

Corranda looked at the new glass of water with distaste. "I didn't ask for more," she said loudly. "All I said was that I didn't want Pumpkin Juice. Or coffee. Or evil-flavoured beans dipped in cinnamon-flavoured carrots with strawberry-marshmallow toppings and raddish earrings."

She paused, to take a breathe. Then she squinted her eyes, pretty haughtily, at Brianna. "Apparate? You mean I can apparate right into here, and right out of here? Seriously? You nasty Ministry people don't have any nasty spells to stop any nasty apparation in here?" For a moment, her eyes glinted. Then she added, "I'll just apparate then, you know. But I thought you'd have a separate place for apparation, so that everyone couldn't just poke into your departments whenever they wanted to, with a bagful of evil witches who want to take over the world with love potions...."

She trailed off, in a maddeningly patient voice, and then cackled. Cackle, cackle, cackle.

"Yes, obviously you cannot apparate from this particular place. You do have to leave the ministry to apparate." Brianna sighed and set the water down on her desk. The cackles were really starting to disturb her, but at least her anger was fading. It was being replaced by an insane feeling of grabbing the nearest book and smacking her forehead against it. She looked over at the insane little witch, but still saw the cunning in her eyes and knew not to underestimate her. "You can leave whenever you like. We're in no hurry." She took a step away from the desk she'd been leaning on this entire time and moved to sit down. Sinking gratefully into her chair, she looked back over at Miss Melvicks.

Piper eyes went from her boss to miss Corranda. What is happening here? Piper asked herself. She was having a million ideas going around her head. Well it's better for me to watch... I have always believed that to solve any problem you need to think about it hard... And I guess I will apply that now. Piper thought as she sat down on her chair, repeating the sequence of the interview in her mind, but she kept her look of complete concentration.

Corranda gave Brianna a funny look. Yes, it was funny. Not distasteful, not nasty, not displeased. It was funny - in a funny sort of way.

"I know you can't apparate from here," she said, head held high. She frowned and added, "What's with the funny look on your face, eh?" Yes, Corranda was quite forgetting that she was the one with the 'funny' look. "Eh? Eh, eh?"

She stood up, with sudden strength. "I'm going, and I'll be back soon. Make sure you have a triple-layered black forest cake ready for me when I come back, eh! I'm a hundred and nine, and I'm hungry!"

She whirled around, in a flurry of black and grey clothing, and left.

Brianna nodded as the woman left, not really trusting herself to say anything. Black Forest Cake, yeah, I'll get right on that. She thought as the door shut behind her. She opened her mouth as if to say something to her employees, but just shut it again, shaking her head slightly. This was definitely an interesting case.

Walking into the office with many flying letters over her head, she smiled as she placed her wand on her desk and looked around the room. Two of the people she reconginized one she didnt. She smiled at the person. "Hey Im Jayden Slone. Are you new?"she asked as she placed a heavy envelope on her desk "Gringotts is so crowded now-a-days." she said as she sat on her desk. "So whats happening?" she asked looking at an odd looking woman seated before them.

Piper looked up twice. The first time when the old lady left the office and the other when a woman entered the office and sat on a desk. New employee? She asked herself.
"Yeah actually Im new... Piper Underwood" Piper replied.
And when Brianna welcomed back the woman, Piper instantly new that she wasn't actually a new employee. I guess Im the only new person here...

There was a loud band, several puffs of smoke, a shrill scream, and then a high-pitched voice floated right into the room.

"But Corrandadada, you can't be doinggggg this to meeee."

Corranda's pointed, witch's hat came into view, almost falling off as she half dragged another witch into the place. The new arrival was thin, very thin, and tall with large, almond-shaped, deep blue eyes. She was very pretty, too, but the image of her sheet of blonde hair and her pretty, blue dress [you couldn't have gotten a much shorter dress, by the way] was ruined a little - correction: a LOT - because she was screaming her head off.

"Corrandadadada, don't, don't, DONNNNN'TTT."

Corranda smiled her gold-toothed smile at Brianna. "This," she said, pointing to the witch. "Is Royda Dames. She's here to be my witness." She then saw a new person in the room, and shook a pointy finger at her. "You there!" She shot at Jayden. "Where's my triple-layered Black forest cake? I'm a hundred and nine, and I'm hungry."

Royda's eyes wandered from Brianna to Jayden to Piper to Corranda, and back again. Then she looked down at her dress - and noticed a tiny bit of dirt on her sleeve. She let out a shrill scream, and began to run around the place in circles. "Help, save me, it's the end of the world! Help me, help me, help me! Oh oh oh, my dress is ruinnnnnnneedddd. Ahhhhh, Corrandadada, my dress is ruinnnedddddd."

What fun.

Piper heard a scream and then suddenly appeared in front of her the old lady litteraly dragging another woman back into the office, as soon as she was inside, the young woman started to run in circle screaming and shouting and yelling for someone to help her, she kept mentioning it was ruined. Losing her temper, Piper flicked her wand as she thought. "Silencio!" The young woman voice disappeared as Piper moved towards her trying to calm her down before taking of the silence charm.

Her voice!

Royda clutched dramatically at her throat, and realized that she could no longer scream. She stopped running, and looked around. Then she collapsed in a small heap on the floor, skirt and all.

Corranda looked at the now-collapsed Royda, and glared daggers at Piper. "Pipewood, what have you done, you!" she said, loudly. "Now she's on the floor, and I'm still hungry, and I'm a hundred and nine, and everything is a mess, and it's all your fault."

She turned to Brianna. "Oi! Do something! I'm a hundred and nine, and Royda's gone and fallen down, all thanks to Pipewood here."

"It's Piper Underwood" Piper said, Old hag!, she pointed her wand at Royda and concentrating to the maximum she muttered "Rennervate!"
She knew that her spell would work perfectly and brings Royda out of her unconsciousness... She then walked back to her office and took out a piece of cake, she had brought from home and luckly it was a triple layer black forest cake. "Here you go miss corranda!" Piper said as she smiled and went back to take care of a now rennervated Royda.

Brianna's eyes widened at the sudden appearance of Miss Melvicks and Royda. She was trying to think of a way to calm the frightened woman when Piper cast a silencing charm on her. No, Piper! Brianna thought frantically, jumping up from her desk and running over to where the woman was now collapsed on the floor.

"Finite Incantatum!" Brianna said firmly, pointing her wand at the witch, and knelt down beside her. "Hello there Royda," she said calmly, speaking quietly. "Why don't you tell me why you are screaming and we'll get everything sorted out? She summoned two chairs from their positions near the walls and invited both Miss Melvicks and Miss Royda to sit. "Please, everyone, let's just remain calm." Turning to Piper, she said, "Do not cast a spell on anyone in my office without first giving the idea a lot of thought. I'll talk to you later about that...For now, let's focus back on this case."

She turned back, her voice still firm, "Miss Melvicks, my office is here to help you approve your charm, if we decide to approve it. It is not here to supply your every want and need. We have no problem with beverages, but we are not responsible for supplying you with cake and any other desserts. Lucky Piper had that cake." She waited to see if Miss Royda was calm enough to continue this discussion. "In the meantime, can I get you anything to drink, perhaps?"

Shai nodded to Jayden and smiled as she entered the room. Good, there's someone else in here to help now just in case things go horribly wrong with this charm., she thought to herself.

Shai looked in horror at the scene in front of her. She could not believe what she was witnessing. It looked as though Royda was being dragged against her will; as if she did not want Corranda's charm cast on her. This alarmed Shai.

After Piper cast her spell on Royda and Brianna rectified the situation, Shai figured she'd better act fast. She quickly flicked her wand and two glasses of water appeared on her desk. Shai picked them up and brought them over to where Corranda and Royda were sitting. She handed a glass to each woman and was really hoping this would help Royda calm down. She took a deep breath then asked, "Is there anything else either of you ladies might need?"

She brushed her frazzled hair out of her face did her best to regain her composure in all of the craziness that just unfolded. She smiled warmly, and what she hoped looked genuinely, at Miss Melvicks and Miss Royda.

Corranda pointed a finger at Piper. "I'm a hundred and nine, and I don't have to remember every name I hear, Pipewood. I'm forgetful." Then she cackled loudly.

When Piper brought her the cake, she looked at it with narrowed eyes. "How do I know it won't choke me, eh?"

"I'm a hundred and nine, and you shouldn't be levelling baseless allegations against me." She sat down as a chair was summoned, crossed her arms against her chest, and continued to gaze not-so-goodly at Brianna.

Royda blinked, and opened her large, blue eyes. They were a very pretty, very bright colour and, the moment she opened them, she found them looking right into those of Brianna. Royda jumped up, two feet into the air, and let out another shrill scream. Then, realizing by the tone of the woman that she meant no harm, she sat down, crossing her legs gracefully. Her eyes wandered over all the women in the room.

Aren't there any men over here? How boring!

She looked back at Brianna, through her pretty, pretty eyes, and smiled softly. "Heya," she said politely. "How do you know my name, man?"

She looked at Corrandadada, and sighed before answering Brianna's question. "This woman here," she said, pointing one, perfectly-manicured hand at Corranda. "She, like, tore me away from my shopping spree to bring me here, man. Very naturally, I was screaming. I mean, I was, like, busy buying a new SwissWitch Nailpolish, yo." She gave Corranda a death-like glare before looking down at her hands in a very child-like way and saying, in a tiny voice, "And now my sleeve has a stain on it."

Royda smiled prettily at the employee who was offering her a drink. "Why, thank you, that's, like, so sweet of you, honey," she said, taking a sip. Then she looked at Corranda. "But, Corrandadadadada, this doesn't taste like seaweed," she said, placing the glass down and examining her nails, each of which was painted half deep pink, half deep black.

She looked back at Shai, and shook her head. "No, nothing else, thanks, gal." Then she looked down at her short - no, very short - sleeve yet again, her eyes not leaving the bit of dirt on it.

Brainna stared, shifting her gaze from Miss Melvicks to Royda and back. She absolutely could not believe that this was the credible witness Miss Melvicks had mentioned. "Miss Royda, I must apologize for Piper. She overreacted when you were screaming. Normally she would have thought more before she acted, but I'm afraid she's new and this is her first day." She turned to Miss Melvicks, Thank you for bringing us a witness to your charm, but did you have to bring her so forcefully?"

Her temples were starting to throb, she wasn't sure she'd make it through the rest of this hectic day. Sighing, she looked back at Royda, "Would you answer a few questions about Miss Melvicks here for us? Specifically about a charm she's trying to get approved?"

Corranda gave Brianna a nasty look. The kind of look that seemed to say Well, it's all your fault, isn't it! "I told you she wouldn't be happy to come," Corranda said loudly. "Told you we needed to have a shopping mall here, didn't I? Didn't I? All your fault, and now you're blaming it on a poor, old lady who's a hundred and nine..." She trailed off, her tones maddening.

Very maddening.

Then she added, in a very dangerous voice, "And I didn't bring her forcefully. Did I now, Royda?"

Royda shrugged. "You can call me just Royda, man," she said, with a little smile, clearly referring to the fact that she had just been addressed as 'Miss' Royda. "Or Roy, if you like. I don't mind, really." She looked over at the girl who was supposedly Piper, and passed her a pleasant smile, too. "First day? Yes, those can be hectic. It's, like, okay, I suppose. No real harm done, yo." Then she looked at her sleeve. "Except for that, I mean."

She turned to Corranda, one perfectly-made eyebrow raised. "Yes, you did, Corrandadadada! You, like, literally tore me away from my nail polish, man. Gal, that was cruel."

Corranda gave Royda a withering look. "Cut the 'man' crap already, Dames."

Royda's large, blue eyes narrowed. Then she turned her head the other way, towards Brianna, very pointedly ignoring Corranda. "I think I'll answer those questions for you, yes," she said, affably. "I didn't know I was, like, supposed to answer any, though. Does Corrandadada have another charm up her rotten, rotten sleeve?" Then, catching a look from Corranda, she added, "Oh, is it that concealment one she whipped up a few days ago?"

Corranda's face was impassive. Phase B was working perfectly. She just hope nothing happened to dampen her spirits - or Phase B of her plan, for that matter.

This Ministry water is too seaweed like.

Brianna smiled at the young woman, also ignoring the barbed comments and withering glances from Miss Melvicks. "I'm so sorry that she brought you forcefully, that was never my intention. If she tore you away from your shopping, then by all means, let's hurry up so you can get back to it." She smiled, a genuine smile at the young woman. She was irritated beyond belief, but it wasn't this young woman's fault. "Yes, this is about the concealment charm. She said you were one of the witnesses to it. Can you describe a little about the event, starting from right before she cast the charm?" Brianna summoned her chair from her desk and sank into it, might as well be comfortable while this was going on, and she motioned for her employees to do the same. They could all form a circle, that way they would be completely included in the interrogation and could perhaps learn more, or pick up on something that Brianna might miss. Still smiling at the young woman, she added,

Royda smiled, glad to know that this woman was nothing like... well, nothing like Corranda. "It's okay, I guess I can stay," she said politely.

The event.... Yes. Royda opened her mouth to speak - and then closed it, all of a sudden. Her face went blank, her expression, her eyes, everything - all was completely and absolutely blank for a second, as if it had all slid out of focus. When she spoke, a second later, however, she seemed her normal self.

"Corrandadadada cast it on me, she asked and I let her," she began naturally. "And then I couldn't see her. Man, it was weird. I couldn't see her for nearly forty minutes. Then, um, I began to see one of her hands, then both, could see all of her again in less than a minute after that."

She paused. Something didn't feel right. Royda felt... dizzy. She shook off the feeling, and then looked up at Brianna. "Is that okay? Or have I said anything wrongly? I'm sorry, but, like, I've never talked to a Ministry official before. Sorry again if I'm messing up somethin', you know."
