"I will say one thing to keep in mind: Prophecy must always be elusive. It needs to have a chance at not being true, in some cases." He looked over the desks, realizing that he did not know which was supposed to be his. He leaned against the closest to make up for it. "Because everyone, no matter how they may be affected by a prophecy, needs to have hope to survive." He paused a moment, then smirked slightly. "If you would like to be introduced to a seer, let me know. If nothing else, I am a learned one, and learned a good deal of divination from my wife."

Lizasaurus 09-22-2008 01:30 PM

"That makes a lot of sense actually." Liz smiles at his comment about him being a learned one, "Is she actually one, or does she hope she is really one?"

Zellanna 09-22-2008 04:54 PM

"Was," he said softly. "I think she had a certain gift towards it, but she was always skeptical in the first place, as odd as that sounds. Come to find later that I was actually more gifted in the field."

Lizasaurus 09-22-2008 08:10 PM

"Oh, I'm so sorry, I didn't realize. Did she pass away?" Liz says quietly.

"It's always good to be skeptical I think, even if you know all about it, and know you are a seer."

Zellanna 09-22-2008 09:25 PM

"She did. Her and our son both, little over a year back. Press got on my case, and tabloids kept trying to contact me." He cleared his throat, looking away slightly. Both Slade and Leo told him not to blame himself, but it was still difficult not to. "Anyhow, I do agree. If you're skeptical, you can keep a clear mind on the matter."

Lizasaurus 09-22-2008 11:42 PM

"Oh, my goodness! I couldn't imagine. I've never been married, though I'd love to be, if I could only find the right person..." Liz looks down. "And got the courage to find one that is."

"I lost my sister in law 2 years ago, and it's still hard to accept that at times. But to lose a wife and your own child, I can't imagine..."

"I guess that's true. I'll keep that in mind, about staying skeptical and it will keep my mind clear on the matter at hand."

Zellanna 09-23-2008 01:16 AM

He waved things off about his family's death, willing that half of the conversation to be over. What did he expect, however? He was the one who mentioned his wife. "Well, I do wish you the best in the Hall of Prophecy. I certainly hope it will be more entertaining than Astrology."

Allison had picked up the book she had been thumbing through, now knowing what the broader topic than just the little snippet she had been working on was. Her head shot up as she heard about Drago’s family, but she kept quiet, leaving the book on her lap as she listened to the continuing conversation.

Zellanna 09-23-2008 02:32 AM

Drago caught the change in Allison's positioning out of the corner of his eye. He took a bare glance over, but otherwise kept his attention on Liz. "Allison, if you are interested in the conversation, then please, take interest," he offered to her. "No amount of intrusion shall be perceived."

Lizasaurus 09-23-2008 04:47 AM

"I appreciate the tips, that's for sure." Liz says with a smile.

"I suppose I should head down to level 9. It was wonderful talking with you! I'm sure I'll see you both around!"

ClockCollector 09-23-2008 11:42 PM

Allison tried to give a little smile. Such a morbid subject, it had simply caught her off guard. “Just, uh, surprised me a bit is all.” She said quickly before listening to Liz. Hopping down off her desk, she gave a broader smile. “Alright then. We’ll miss you up here, though.”

Lizasaurus 09-24-2008 02:25 AM

"Don't worry I'll come back up to bug you!" Liz says with a grin.

"Especially if you guys get another case like Hermann Kern, I'm sure my brother will definitely come back to help again!"

Zellanna 09-24-2008 02:52 AM

Drago couldn't help but raise a brow. "Hermann Kern?"

ClockCollector 09-24-2008 02:55 AM

Allison smiled at Liz. “I don’t doubt it.” She turned to Drago as he asked about the Hermann Kern case. “Oh geeze, was that a mess. Took forever to figure it out.” She leaned back against her desk again. “Have to say it was worth it though.” She sent a meaningful glance in Liz’s direction.

Zellanna 09-24-2008 03:28 AM

How specific. These are the people you shall be working with? Yes, it is. Not like you were never vague, Little Kin. "I see." He pushed up from leaning against the desk and forced himself away from his train of thought. If it had been Slade talking like that, he would have assumed that it was something that wasn't to be known. He doubted that was Allison's intention, or at least not quite the same, but it was certainly a fight to believe it. Either way, for his sake and hers, perhaps it was best to let the conversation pass. "So, is any neat desk open, or is there someone who keeps their desk insanely tidy?"

Lizasaurus 09-24-2008 03:18 PM

"Well I'll let you two go, I better head down, before they wonder where I've been all this time," Liz says with a smile.

"See you two later!" Liz says as she heads toward the door.

ClockCollector 09-24-2008 08:01 PM

Allison glanced around the office. “Actually, I think any desk that isn’t covered with books is open.” She laughed softly. “We’re a pretty messy lot up here.” She paused, looking at the back corner of the room. Every desk was covered with books, and none of them were occupied. “Well except back there, but I doubt you want to bother with moving all the books.” They really had managed to nearly start their own little library. She smiled at Liz. “Bye!”

Zellanna 09-24-2008 08:27 PM

"Indeed," he said with a raised brow. "Perhaps a bookcase or two would be in order?" Though he chose the first cleared desk close to hers and leaned against it. He would have to find a different way to lay claim to it. "A good deal of research then, lately?"

ClockCollector 09-24-2008 08:35 PM

Allison smiled a little. “Yeah, we probably could use one.” She nodded in response to his question. “Yeah, and far too much if you ask me.” She flipped a book on her desk closed, only realizing she hadn’t remembered what page she was on. “Eh, but really, I’m not the best person to ask.”

Zellanna 09-24-2008 08:51 PM

"Oh? And why would that be?" he asked, moving to peer at the book she was looking at. "You seem well-informed enough. And really, the one who happens to be here at the moment. Unless you prefer the quiet. In which case, feel free to tell me so and I shall return to my desk and work on some personal projects of my own."

ClockCollector 09-24-2008 09:12 PM

Allison shrugged. “Just making sure everything we have is correct. We’re supposed to cite sources for everything as well. Just so everyone at the conference knows we’re right.” She blinked. “Even though we’re the ones who usually…write the books on… this stuff.” She shook her head. “I will never understand this.” She looked up at him as he mentioned the quiet. “Doesn’t bother me any. Whatever you’re up to doing.”

Zellanna 09-24-2008 09:31 PM

"I think the base conundrum is actually fairly simple. What is it... we're trying to figure out whether werewolves are classed as beasts or beings? I suppose we should start with... What is our current stance? I mean, they are currently classed as beasts, are they not?"

ClockCollector 09-24-2008 09:45 PM

“Yes, at the moment we have them classified as beasts.” It took her a moment, but Allison realized that he had misunderstood her. She stayed quiet this time though, noticing she had been working on the wrong thing anyway. Frowning softly to herself she pulled another book out of the clutter covering her desk. Funny, she could tell you where anything was in the no mans land that made up the surface of her desk. “The only real problem I have with the ‘beast’ classification is that they are nearly completely human at most times.”

Zellanna 09-25-2008 01:54 AM

"For the most part, I agree." He brushed a lock of hair from his face that was unbound by the ponytail. Change his appearance, change his name, change his life... that same lock would never change. "And with the potion they can take, they can be mentally human at the time that they are, for lack of a better term, beasts. There is one thing to consider, however... What about those who form a pack or use more animalistic terms while in human form? Or those who embrace the beast within?"

ClockCollector 09-25-2008 02:22 AM

Allison nodded. “And there’s the main problem. It’s almost like we need to categorize them separately, but there’s really no way of doing that.” She frowned slightly, pulling another book from the very dangerous desk and simply putting on top of everything to the right of the other book and scanning a passage, frowning deeper. “Yeah, two separate categories isn’t going to happen.” A light smirk appeared as she thought. “Our jobs would be much easier if everyone could stick to one standard, wouldn’t it?”
