"Wow, I'm glad I'm stuck in this little office here. No one ever bothers with us unless they work in one of the surrounding offices. We get to avoid all that drama, which is fine with me. I might slip and give someone a piece of my mind and lose my job if I worked down there," Jake laughed, sipping his coffee. "Nope, I'm fine just where I am thank you very much. Nothing like a challenging task with some bumbling fool of a witch or wizard messing up some simple charm to get my heart pumping. Perhaps you should ask for a job transfer and come join us. It's never a dull moment around here."

Jake looked up and nodded in the woman's direction. "You must be Hallie. I received a memo on my desk to be expecting you this morning. How are you? I'm Jake Reilly." Jake said as he got up to greet his new employee properly. "Very nice to meet you. I see you are making yourself at home. Very good. Are there any questions I can answer for you? It's a bit quiet at the moment. We're just catching up on some paper work from our last mission and enjoying the peace and quiet before our next mission. Although..." Jake continued, "If it gets too quiet, I've been known to throw some mock missions together just to keep us on our toes, so don't say you weren't warned." Jake smirked. "Don't let that scare you though, this really is a fun place to work. I think you'll find you'll fit right in with us. So relax and get settled in, and again if there's anything I can do for you, don't hesitate to ask."

Edie laughed. Yes well. I'm hoping my job will start properly soon. I'm sort of sick of this wedding. I just hope my temper stays cool. People get on my nerves some times."

Edie looked up at the woman that entered. She nodded in her direction and watched, amused, as Jake told her about everything. He looked like he was trying to play up the Department. Not that it's a bad department. He also looked like he was playing up himself. She held back a chuckle.

Jaked turned back to Edie. I'm sorry. Edie, this is Hallie, Hallie, this is Edie. How rude of me. "And are you smirking at me Edie? Yes, I like to boast about my department. I want people to want to be here, and not have to hide away in other departments." Jake laughed. "Not that I blame you of course. I'm actually enjoying the company. It's nice to have some visitors from the outside, so to speak. And between you and me, I'd be doing the same thing with all this wedding stuff going on, believe me. Don't worry though, It will be over soon enough, and then I'm sure they'll find more drama for us to deal with. Oooh can you imagine if a baby were in the future and the things they'd have the ministry doing to prepare fo that?" Jake joked.

Edie laughed heartily and replied, "Are you trying to wish death onto me? Now a baby from those two would be both a Magical Accident and Catastrophe! I think we'd all have a problem. Especially if it's anything like it's mother!" She looked up at the woman and said, "How are you Hallie? I'm Edie, I'm the Liason for this Department." she gave the woman a comforting smile, sensing that she really wasn't having a good day

Jake caught himself as he almost spit his coffee all over himself, as he laughed aloud. "Ok, I can handle almost any situation you throw at me as far as Magical Accidents and Catastrophes. A baby just like Clara is something I have no control of, and something tells me her parents wouldn't either." Jake laughed again. "That would be a death wish on me, but for some reason I could see it happening. Expect the unexpected... you should know that."

Edie held back a chuckle as Jake almost spat out his coffee. "Expect the unexpected? I'm all up for the unexpected. But this, a Cooper baby ... no thanks."

"Yes fine Jake just expecting letters" said Dan and just then a letter flew in from his son "See this time I got my son to mail it to the ministry" and he got the letter and started reading.

Dear Dad,
at least I can write this letter. They have replaced hogwarts with two new schools the boys and girls are seperated and I`m not even allowed to contact Carolyn. Help this was done by order of the minister and his wife and we have creepy teachers like Lord Borr,

"Jake have you heard what Coopers doing now he`s even taken over Hogwarts well now there isn`t even a hogwarts its Cooper and Belle school" said Dan

Hallie smiled and shook Jake's hand. "Yes, that's me. And I've heard about you. Most people speak highly of you, but they say you have a tendency of getting into trouble? Doesn't seem like it to me though." Hallie paused to see Jake's reaction, but continued in case he did go off. "What kind of missions do we tend to go on? To tell the truth, I'm kind of anxious to get started."

"Well that's just it... if you expect the unexpected, well... who knows" Jake shrugged, "Perhaps a baby could be in the plan." Jake chuckled. "Ahhh, I can see it now. The whole ministry covered in pink and blue."


Dan's comment caught Jake's attention. "What is this about?" Jake asked again. "There's no Hogwart's anymore? Have they completely lost their minds!"

Jake turned back towards Edie.
"Have you heard anything about this?"

Jakes eyes widened at the comment, as he tried to hide the smirk on his face. "Getting in trouble? Who me? Nah.... never. I just like to have a bit of fun, and most Ministry workers just don't understand that."

"Umm... as far as missions. Well, the last mission we just returned from had to do with a little witch who stole her mother's wand at a department store and with a simple flick of mum's wand, she brought manequins to life and chaos to our world. It was quite the scene. You should have been there." Jake laughed.

"Right now with the wedding and all, things are a bit quiet. I was going to start a mock mission shortly if it continues to stay quiet. If you have any ideas on a mock mission you'd like to see played out, now's the time to speak up."

Jake turned towards the rest of the office. "That goes for all you guys. Any ideas on a mock mission? I've heard we might even be able to include other divisions in on this, as well, so let's get creative."

Edie scrunched up her nose in disgust. "Oh my. Pink and Blue. No more colour themes please." she laughed. "I think by the end I'll be sick of every colour possible"

"Color themes. What's that all about anyway? And the colors! I won't even begin to get into the colors they chose..." Jake said rolling his eyes.

"So what's this Dan is saying about no more Hogwarts, and there are now two seperate schools? Belle and Coopers? Maybe this is their little baby for now. But how could they. Why would they?"

Edie sighed as she thought about Hogwarts. "Yeah. Alycya said that aswell. This is not good. I don't care if it's their baby for now. Hell I'd even rather they had a real baby! Contrast to what I said before. How can they do that to Hogwarts. It's disgusting frankly."

"I don't know." Jake said shaking his head in disgust. He lowered his voice and leaned in towards Edie, "Between you and me, it all seems a bit power hungry to me. I can't fathom any other reason for it. Hogwart's has always has it's share of ... how shall I say it... rough times? But that's what makes it such an amazing school, their ability to make it through and over come it all. I know they've come close from time to time, but I never dreamed they'd actually close Hogwarts." Jake sighed.

"Something tells me this is just the beginning of things to come..."

Edie nodded her head. She couldn't work out why they closed it. "I remember when I was there, I'm pretty sure they were extremely close to closing it. We had a girl die in a duel. And still the school stayed strong. I've never heard anything like this. I agree with you though. Power trip to the max." She shook her head, her nose wrinkled cutely in disgust.

"If this is our reaction, I can only imagine the reaction of the kids, parents and staff. We haven't heard the last of this. I wouldn't even be surprised if we get dragged into all this somehow." Jake said in a disappointed tone.

Edie nodded her agreement. "Wouldn't really be surprising would it?" She shook her head. "Pretty ridiculous really. I'm surprised the Ministry hasn't been split up." She laughed quietly.

ooc: I've gotta give out these flyers for one of my assignments. So here have a flyer! hehe

Dan took a flyer "Augest its a long time. They don`t let them even communicate with anyone but there parents" said Dan reterning to the subject of hogwarts.

Edie handed Dan a flyer. "Yes I know. I've been trying to contact my cousin's daughter. My owls kept coming back to me. I've sent letters through my cousin so I hope that works." Edie said, wondering whether Aly had got her letter.

Hallie laughed. "Tell me about it. I tried to play a simple little joke on the secretary downstairs and she completely overreacted. Talk about a stiff place. We all need a bit of fun with all this crazy stuff going on."

Listening to the conversation that was going on in the office, Lance had took this opportunity to do some cleaning on his desk. It's not that he had tones of things on it but it's mostly the fact that he was messy and had never take his time to put some order in it. This was probably the best time to do that. Everyone else was rather busy talkative about anything, so with his coffee in his hand, he decided that he was doing it the muggle way. Taking a huge sip of his hot drink, he proceed with some of the papers but then noticing that he had to take out everything that was on his desk so he could cleaned it out (which was something he hadn't done in a long time). Shrugging but still making gesture of taking down some pictures and papers, he started his little cleanup session not making too much noise.

Hallie looked in Lance's direction and noticed that he was cleaning his desk fervently. She walked over and smiled.
"Hi, I'm Hallie. Spring cleaning today?"

Almost knocking his cup of coffee as he heard someone talking to him, he was lucky that his reflexes had kick in since he catch it back without dropping any liquid. Making sure to drink the entire content before any other accident would happen, he nodded at the woman in front of him. "Yeah... I wanted to do that for a long time but never really did it actually." Extended his arm in order to shake her head, he greeted her with a smile. "Nice to meet you Hallie, I'm Lance."

Hallie laughed and shook his hand.
"Sorry. Didn't mean to startle you, Lance. Didn't think you were that much into cleaning." she said cocking a smile.

An interdepartmental notice flew onto Jake's desk. He picked it up and read it. Rolling his eyes he looked at Edie. "Are we really having Opening Ceremonies for this International Wizarding Conference or whatever it is. As if there's not enough crazy things going on here. Well I guess you'd be the one to ask what it is I might be expected to do?


"Owls are coming back? Something's not right there. Has anyone thought of checking up on the situation?"

"That's why I chose this department. You can't beat waiting to see what mission you'll be sent on next. What muggle finds himself on the wrong side of an obnoxious witch or wizard's spell, what witch or wizard has not mastered the art of magic yet, it's always something." Jake laughed.

Jake looked over to see that Lance was unusually quiet. He gasped when he actually saw Lance cleaning his desk. "Are things really that slow around here? You never clean your desk. Everything alright Lance?" Jake teased his old friend.

Jake choked back a laugh as he saw Lance stumble around his desk nearly knocking his coffee over. "Smooth move romeo. Way to make a first impression" Jake chuckled, just quiet enough for Lance to hear.

"He's not much into cleaning, that's the strange thing. Should we check him out for the effects of some sort of hex or charm? He's not himself. Well either that, or it's just gotten really boring around here." Jake laughed.

"Perhaps it is time for that mock mission. Are you guys up for one?" Jake asked grabbing his wand, ready to set up a scenario.

Lance had a feeling that someone was looking at him. The only one he thought it might be is either Dan, his friend or the other woman who he had forgotten the name (if he never knew it at all). Deciding not to put much thought into in, he chuckles softly as he heard Hallie appologized. "Don't worry about that. I'm used to have some clumsyness so if it wasn't now it would have happen later."

Turning his head as he heard Jake talk, he shook his head when his friend mentioned about how slow it was around here. "Well everything go rather smooth so I decided it was about time to do so. As for me I'm fine if you don't count the fact that my sis is bugging me to settle down. Like I need something like that." Shaking his head at the thought of some of his chat with his sister, he couldn't see the point of why she was bringing that to him all the time. He was perfectly fine on his own.

Almost falling down his chair as he heard Jake's last comment, he look at him straight in his eyes. "You know me..." Replying to him on the same tones so that nobody else in the room would understand.

By the looks of it, his friend seems to be in the mood to tease him about the decision he took of cleaning his desk. He had to admit that it wasn't usual in his case and he knew that Jake was well aware of that. "Sorry Mr. Reilly but I'm still myself. Just doing something different for a change but I wont mind any mock up mission." Sitting on his desk which was free of everything he wait for one brilliant idea from Jake.
