The first thing that catches your eye is a rather large desk near the door, with a giant nameplate bolted into the front reading:

The wizards and witches in this division have to keep tabs on any magic that goes amiss. If a young witch or wizard who does not have much control over their magic accidentally casts a spell that goes haywire, it is their job to fix it. When on an assignment, work together as a team to find the correct spell to reverse the situation, and then be sure to report it to the Head Office.

Madeline hurried into the division and dropped a folder on the Head's desk. "Good morning," she said happily. "You'll all be excited...you have a mock mission to complete," she said with a wink. "Enjoy!" she called as she left the office.

As soon as Madeline had left the office, Bertina flew in, glasses askew and her robes a mess. She cleared her throat and stopped to straighten herself up. "Sorry I'm late everyone," she said in a clear voice. She placed her traveling cloak on the back of her desk chair and spotted the envelope on the desk. "Oh, what's this?" she asked, peering over the the Division head for an answer.

Jake put the paper down and looked at his employees. "Alright guys. The good thing about this is, that it's a mock scenario. However, that doesn't mean we're going to take this lightly. No, in fact now that we actually have time to think the scenario out, I expect more from you guys. It's not often we get these, so I'm going to take advantage of it and observe our strengths and weakness so I know what to focus on out in the field. And yes..." Jake said rolling his eyes. "I'm just as much a part of this team as you guys are, so I will be taking into account my own strengths and weaknesses, too."

Jake paused looking around making sure everyone was taking this seriously. Seeing everyone was, Jake nodded and said, "Let's get to work. Leave it to a little kid to cause such chaos." Jake said shaking his head, "First off... before we break into groups, I want to hear each of your thoughts on this....What's the spell? How do we correct the spell? And what are we going to do to repair the damage?" Jake asked quickly adding "Let's keep in mind as Madeline pointed out that what we're seeing on paper may not be everything that's going on. Think about how we are going to deal with the child? The parents? The muggles? Do we need to bring in any other Department teams on this scenario, too? Let's analyze it all guys. Are we ready? Anyone want to start us off?" Jake asked looking around at his team. It put him at ease to know that he had some of the brightest minds assembled here with him and that the scenario shouldn't take them long to run out.

I`ve got a list of charms and spells in that big book on my table and we will also have to find the countour spell in that also we might need some help from the obliviators so we should call them and then we should head over there and do the spells and make it look like it didn`t happen and leave before the muggles come to there scenses> I think I should do the countor spell . I`ve always been good at charms and Defence against the dark arts. Well I think thats what we have to do now who will do what?" asked Dan really exited

Then an owl flew in "What are you doing here arn`t you Barry`s is this from him why didn`t you come before leave it on the desk and wait go to the magical creatures deparment and wait till I call you" said Dan he dropped the letter picked up a muffin and flew out of the room leaving a leeter on the table.

Jake was glad Dan was jumping on the task so quickly. "Obliviators!! Yes! We'll definitely need them there. And what would they be without the Muggle Excuse Committee?" Jake laughed. "Very good! Very good!" Jake nodded.

He heard Dan mention the charms book. "Not a bad idea at all... but we won't neccesarily have that with us out in the field, we need to think on fast on our feet out there and be prepared for any situation including that one. So disregarding the book at the moment... tell me right off the top of your head, what spell you think this is." Jake said eyeing Dan, as he waited for a sharp reaction. However, he couldn't help but laugh when Jake mentioned about the squad going and doing spells to make the incident look like it didn't happen. "Now there's an idea!" Jake teased. "The squad actually doing their job! That's one thing I wouldn't have thought of." Jake winked. "Glad someone's thinking Dan." Jake laughed some more. "Guess sometimes you have to state the obvious, don't you!"

Suddenly an owl flew into the room. "What the!" Jake stood up swatting at the owl. Who invited this thing here?" Jake asked irritated, their meeting was just interrupted by an owl delivering what was obviously a personal message.

Jake took a deep breath when he realized it was Dan's owl. "Barry? I'm guessing this thing here is yours...?" Jake asked trying to keep his cool about him, as he felt his cheeks starting to flush with anger. Taking a deep breath, he continued, "Interdepartmental notes are the only thing that should be flying in and out of this office! I'm not going to be the one picking up owl droppings everytime an owl flies in here. That's why we stopped using owls ages ago here. You of all people should know that. Now, I suggest you leave your personal business outside of this office. If there's an important message for you, believe me it will get to you without an owl swooping in here to deliver it."

Jake closed his eyes and rubbed his temples. With a heavy sigh... he tried to refocus. "I'm sorry... so where were we before we were interrupted by that creature?"

Lance robbed his hands together as he saw his head of department walking in with something that was looking like a practice mission. This was going to be interesting and he could used some practice in order to stay in shape. Standing up but bringing with him his bottle of water, he listen to what Jake had to say.

As he heard what this is all about, he took few second to think about it. So far what Dan had come up with was good. The obliviator could certainly be handful in this but before he could had the muggles excuses committee, Jake mentioned it. "I think I might have an idea about a reverse spell. I remember Meteolojinx Recanto could be helpful unless someone can come up with something better. The thing we have to find out is what she used. I know ancient magic like old books of spell that is still working. It's either that or she took her parents wands and without knowing it, she did it." He was sure that he was going to get curious look as he mentioned the ancient magic but this was something he read about a while back and he really believed in it.

Shaking his head when he saw the owl and knowing to perfectly what was the reaction of Jake, he waited until everything settle down.

Jake spun his head around when Lance spoke up. "Perfect timing..." Jake thought to himself. He needed the distraction and quick to set him back on task.

As Lance threw out a spell idea, Jake jumped up and pointed at Lance, "Yes!! There we go! I'm glad someone's thinking today. Meteolojinx Recanto is just the spell I was thinking about, too. But...we're a team. I want to hear everyone's input on it. What do you guys think? And don't forget just because we may have a spell to stop the rain, our task is far from over. Keep those ideas coming."

Jake looked at the team "How do we repair the damage?"

"And let's not forget to think about the family... the whole team won't be performing the spell...what can we do to help the family so they don't distract the spell casters? These are the scenarios I want you tho think out. Will the little girl be pulling at the spell caster's leg, begging for forgiveness so mummy and daddy don't get mad? Sounds ridiculous I know...but these are real life things we've all seen happen. For instance, I always carry a flask with a bit of calming draught to help the hysterical people out in the field. Let me tell you...that flask comes in very handy at times!" Jake laughed. "It's little details like this we can't forget to overlook in our scenarios. I want us to be as well prepared as we can be."

As Jake told them what they had to do in the mock scenario Kallisto immediately got an idea. Before she could get to suggest it Vince had told his. It was good. Very practical. But she had a better one. “What if we preformed an accent tribe rain dance and stopped the rain? It would be better than using magic because if the spell backfired…we’d have to clean up our own mess. “Oh and to correct the spell we could…..”Pausing for a moment the woman scratched her head. “Let Lance think of that one.” Yup those were very good idea’s. Overall she was very proud of herself indeed.

"Someone would be shooting spells at me just trying to get me to stop and put them out of their misery having to watch me do that. But..." Jake continued not wanting to discount an idea, "if the Meteolojinx Recanto spell does backfire, it's not a terrible idea to have a back up idea. Good thinking Kallisto. Would we have any volunteers to do the dance?" Jake laughed.

"Come on guys. You have great ideas going. Don't stop now. Any other spells? And what about repairing the damage? Or taking care of any other situations out there... Come on, speak up...don't be shy" Jake smirked trying to get his team to interact more together.

"Yes, yes be serious. "A 5 year old just had a temper tantrum and caused a rainstorm, this is very serious," Jake smirked. "What would those parents do without us? Anyway...back on track now... Reparo and scourgify are always good spells to fix and repair damage. There's always Deletrius if we need to just remove any damage all together as well, we can't forget that."

Jake walked around the room, he always thought better on his feet. "I was also thinking about one particular detail the mission stated...this is a pureblood family living in a muggle neighborhood. It strikes me as very strange, I must admit. They can't be very bright witches or wizards...first off - leaving their child who no doubt has inherited magic skills unattended, and secondly they don't have any antimuggle protection. What are these people thinking? Is it just me, or do any of you think that perhaps a Repello Muggletum spell is in order so we don't have to revisit this scene too, often?" Jake asked the team.

"I'm glad to see someone's on board with the Muggle Repelling charm. That will be more than enough to make sure no magic is seen outside the house, so long as they don't practice magic outside the charm's boundaries. As far as the repairing spells we have Reparo, Scourgify, and Deletrius what others were you thinking of Dan?" Jake asked picking his brain.

Jake heard Dan suggest a spell on the girl and frowned. "It's not that I'm going to rule it out, because I like that you're thinking of all options and it may be something that will eventually be needed. But I'm thinking it's probably the girl's first temper tantrum to produce magic...although you have to admit, it is some powerful magic... anyway - my point is that I don't think we need to take a drastic step like putting a charm on her just yet. It just makes me nervous to think about putting a spell on a child, and all the things that could go wrong. Let's keep it on the back burner for now and if it were to happen again, it may be something we need to think about in the future, but one that I think we all agree -we won't take lightly if we have to do. I like that you're thinking though Dan... excellent...excellent...keep it coming."

"Oh and about the owl...just ask your son when in doubt to send the owl to the mail room, and they'll take care of it from there. I assure you no message will go unsent, they are the best there. I don't know how they do it with the volume of messages they receive, but I always get what I need." Jake nodded. "I'm sure your son will understand."

Lance was agreeing with what Dan had propose. The repairing spelled had already been mentioned so he couldn't understand why this was brought back again but when he heard that he was proposing to put a spell on the little girl, his jaw dropped. He couldn't understand why someone would even think of doing such a thing. This was totally unnecessary. "I'm with Jake on that one. I mean we only used spell on peoples if we don't have any other option."

Not sure if he should mentioned it but he had basically nothing to loose. "I know it's a mock up but if we were in a real life thing shouldn't we do a check up on them just to see if something similar happens or just to see if they have done anything in their past?"

Jake listened to more suggestions from Lance. "Well, while we're out on the field we won't be able to look to see if it's somewhere we've been dispatched to, unless it's one we recall from memory...however the reason I stress paperwork is for this reason - when we return to the office we can record the mission and look to see if we have been there before. Either way... if we have been there before or it's the first time, we definitely should do a follow up and see how things are going. They don't need to know we're checking up, but we need to be sure our job was successfully completed. So that's a really good idea Lance.

"It's ok Dan, please don't get discouraged. You're thinking on your feet, I like that. We all have ideas from time to time that we look back and thing, "man what was I thinking suggesting that?"" Jake laughed. "But by doing so, it shows your thinking outside the box. You're trying to make sure every scenario is thought through. That's what makes this department work so well."

"So before we start to sum up this mission...are there any other ideas you guys have? Any thoughts that you haven't shared yet? Now's the time, the floor's all yours."

As Jake said spoke about him dancing Kallisto had to laugh. Maybe she wouldn't mind seeing that. It would be interesting. As her idea got put up to the back up plain she smiled more. In most places her idea would have been turned down. This is why she loved this place.

Not having any more ideas Kallisto sat back and listened the everyone else's. They were pretty normal, and good ones. Except for the one on using magic on a little girl. Well that might actually me a good idea if they were being attacked by giant wasps and the only way to save them would be making the little girl huge and make her step on them. But this wasn't the case. Shaking her head at Jake's question, the young woman really couldn't think of anything else. "Nope. No more idea's Jake..at least from me anyways."

Jake nodded, very pleased his team was working as hard as they were coming up with new ideas. When no new ones were suggested, Jake pushed his chair backwards and stood up. Taking out his wand, he gave it a swish and suddenly a large parchment with words on them appeared on a board to Jake's left hand side.

"Right then, so I am thinking that this is a rather simple task. If you agree to it, then I would only send a 3 person team on this one." Jake said as he pointed to the sheet of parchment.

"As you know your selves best I will not hand out the particular assignments to each of you, but rather I will go over how I think it should be divided. "It's up to you guys to decide who would best fit each task. Of course if for some reason you can't come to an agreement on this, then I will step in and take care of the situation at hand and my final say would be law. Please don't make me do that people." Jake laughed.

This person's task will be to take care of the people immediately involved in the situation so they do not interfere with your teammate's work. In this case that would be the girl and her parents.

Useful Tools:

Calming Draught - Something to always have on hand just in case a person is hysterical and needs to be calmed quickly.

Ennervate - Important spell to always remember if anyone becomes emotionally overwhelmed and passes out. This happens more often than we would like, so it is good to be prepared.

Stupify - Temporarily stuns a victim. Remember, we use this only as a neccessity when we feel threatned and we see that someone or some people are about to turn our mission into a dangerous situation.

"I think this is self explanatory. If there's anything else that should be added to this list, just speak up and we'll add it. Let's stick with the basic for now though, and we can always add to it later."

Then pointing to the second list Jake continued, "Each role as you see is clearly defined so there is no confusion and we can be in and out as quickly and quietly as possible.

With the family being carefully watched, the second person will then step in to take care of the problem at hand. In this case, disposing of the rain cloud that is causing the nuisance.

Meteolojinx Recanto- This is the spell that controls the weather. Let's be sure to suggest a bright warm sunshine just to ensure the spell goes as planned.

***Rain Dance - This, while a bit of a stretch, will be reserved for Kallisto to complete if the spell goes awry for any reason. It's always important to have a back up plan just in case.

After the spell is successfully completed, then this person will assist the third person in clean up duties.

This person will immediately begin clean up details once the spell is removed. He or she will then be joined by the second person to speed up the task.

Useful tools:

Deletrius - Destroys, wipes out or erases any evidence left of the previous spell. In this case the Rain Cloud.

Reparo - Repairs any items damaged or broken in the incident.

Scourgify - Is used to clean and scour any areas as needed.

"I know . . . I know I am very thorough and overstate the obvious sometimes, but that's what makes this department so successful, you guys should know that by now." Jake blushed. "Bear with me, I'm almost done now. Please let me know if I missed anything. I'm doing my best to make sure I've included everything, but I am far from perfect." Jake grinned. "Anyway, continuing on ....If there aren't any questions about the way this task should be divided up, then I'm going to continue on. We discussed having a few additional divisions joining us, so let's detail those quickly." Jake said as he pointed to the next piece of parchment.

Invisibility Task Force: This division will be asked to come in and place a Muggle Repelling Charm around the house.

Muggle Excuse Committe: This division will be asked to come up with an excuse scenario for the obliviators to use as they modify memories.

The Obliviators: This division will be asked to come in and obliviate the memories of any muggle witnesses and the if they deem neccessary the family members involved in this incident as well.

A follow up visit with the family is requested to see how they are doing (how they moved on) since the incident. Additionally the team should make note if their have been any incidents that have occured since our last visit that will require futher attention by the ministry. The team will then return and brief the division on what they have witnessed and any suggestions or concerns they have. These will be documented and a decision will be made at that time as to whether more action needs to be taken or the case should be closed. All recommendations will then be passed on to the Head of Department.

"And there you go guys. Scary how much work goes into one simple task when you see it all on paper isn't it. I don't think I realize half the time how time consuming it really is. I think that's a compliment to you guys, how smoothly you help to make the tasks run." Jake nodded.

"One more thing and then if there's no other comments you guys can take a well deserved break, I promise." Jake chuckled. "With that being said, let's not forget what we dissussed before about paperwork. This mock mission is a prime example of why paperwork is so important. As soon as you return from the field, I prefer you begin to log your experiences while it's still fresh on your mind. As I stressed earlier, the logs are of the utmost importance for us, in case we need to go back at a later time and revisit this case for any reason. We can just open the logs and see exactly what took place and learn from it, or use it again if we are ever faced with a similiar situation in the future." Jake said breathing a sigh of relief.

Clapping his hands Jake smiled, "And that's it folks. As usual, thank you so much for a job well done. Now go and take a well deserved break already!" Jake laughed. Throwing a few galleons in the air, he smirked and added "And this one's on me...although don't get too used to it, or I'll go broke."

Lance listen carefully to what Jake had to say. Everything seems to be well organized and it was pretty much all he had seens it in his head. But when he came down to choose which one he would pick, he was struggling between the first one and the second one. He knew he could handle either of them without much troubles but he was more a person kind of guy. "I think I can handle the first one. I know I'm not expert in kids but I don't see any problems doing it. Unless you find someone better for this and I could easily do the second one."

As he heard Dan's respond, he blinked. "If you remember this is a mock up so it's not real just testing what will be our plan of action if we were face with this kind of situation."

Farren thought about the different roles of the three people that would be going, if it were a real mission. She thought that since she loves people, and children she would be reat at the first person job. "Jake, I have experience with kids, and i love people. I think that if this were a real mission that i would be great at the first one." She thought about what she had said and she felt a little concieded, but what she had said was true she really loved working with people.

A memo flies into the office and lands on the Head's desk. It reads:

There is a quiant little shopping mall just outside of London. Unfortunately, the place is in a bit of a wreck today. A young witch has gotten ahold of her mother's wand and somehow animated a dress in one of the stores. The witch and her mother have long since fled the scene, but now the Obliviators and Accidental Magic Reversal Squad have to fix the problem.

Here are some muggles who MAY cause you a bit of trouble...just keep a look out for them and try not to perform TOO much magic in front of them.

1. One muggle has been tied onto a display by the dress using other articles of clothing
2. One muggle is being attacked as the Obliviators and Accidental Magic Reversal Squad arrive on the scene
3. Another muggle has taken refuge in the dressing rooms and refuses to come out.
4. The final muggle is a brave being who is attempting to aid the Squad and somehow stop the dress, even though the muggle has clearly no idea why the dress is moving or who all these people are who have suddenly appeared to fix the problem.

Track down that dress and come up with a way to stop it from attacking the customers! Also, keep in mind that sometimes Muggles don't always act the way you want them to
