The first thing that catches your eye is a rather large desk near the door, with a giant nameplate bolted into the front reading:

The wizards and witches in this division have to keep tabs on any magic that goes amiss. If a young witch or wizard who does not have much control over their magic accidentally casts a spell that goes haywire, it is their job to fix it. When on an assignment, work together as a team to find the correct spell to reverse the situation, and then be sure to report it to the Head Office.

Lance pushed the door of the office open when he realized that he completely forgot to bring a coffee. Dang!, he thought to himself. This wasn't the worst day but it didn't started as good as he wanted. Making a mental note to go get one a bit later, he looks around to see who else was there. Shaking his head as he noticed that he was the first one, he walks toward his desk and waited until someone else arrived.

Jake ran into the office, out of breath. He peered over his shoulder as he flew in and saw that Lance was already there.

"Just made it!" he said with a sigh of relief, as he threw his brief case atop his desk. As it landed hard upon the desk papers began to fly everywhere. "What the" Jake cried out as he watched the papers flutter to the ground. " A mountain of paperwork already? I spent half the night catching up on the past week's log books and now I come in to find more paperwork on my desk waiting to be filled out." Jake sighed rolling his eyes.

He looked over at Lance who had made himself comfortable behind his own desk already and said, "I swear Lance, sometimes it just doesn't pay to be boss. Let's just hope we get an early call out into the field today so I'm not stuck behind this desk all day. Maybe I should call an incident in myself" he laughed, as he took out his wand and with a quick flick - he neatly restacked all the papers back onto the desk.

Lance looks up when he heard someone walking in. He knew exactly who it was when he heard a voice. It was the one and only Jake. Looking at his friend and boss in order to see if he had brought coffee, but sadly it wasn't the case. "Hey Jake! Got any aspirin with you?" As he said that he stood up and walks toward him.

Watching the piles of work that they had to do, he wasn't very surprise since it was pretty rare that they didn't have much to do around here. "Don't tell me that you chock man because I can't remember the last time it was quiet around here." Turning his head in order to hides one of his yawns, it was probably the first day that he was feeling not to well or at least that he could remember. Grinning at his comment, he had to admit that field job was the funnier. Nothing could compared between that kind of job and behind in the office. He liked both but it was something else. "What a bad boy are you Jake but that would be fun."

Not that you usually aren't...but you know what I mean. If you're head isn't here today, I need to know. I'll send someone else out in the field." Jake said rubbing his temples. His day was getting more complicated with each passing moment.

Jake laughed at Lance's comment about it being quiet around the office. "Yeah...never a dull moment is an understatement with this division." He turned around to his desk and popped open the briefcase, taking out a thick log book. "This log book just goes to show how crazy it's been around here." Jake said as he plopped it on his desk with a huge thud. "Man am I thankful for self writing quills." Jake laughed. "It's the only thing that saves me from going insane at night. Although I must admit reliving some of the jobs at the end of the day is pretty humorous. It never ceases to amaze me how witches and wizards can get themselves into so much trouble." Jake laughed again.

Jake heard a familiar voice and looked up with a smile. It was his fellow Division Head Mona Quigley. Mona had an office just down the hall in the Muggle Worthy Excuse Division. Lance and I were saying how it's rather quiet around here, which is very unusual, considering there's usually never a dull moment in this department. Ahhh...but the day is very early. I'm sure there's plenty of excitement in our future." Jake winked. "I can only imagine what today's first call will be about."

Jake looked Lance over and was still a bit concerned. He looked like he had just been hit by a bludger, something Jake was all too familiar seeing Lance look like -however Jake knew Lance hadn't played quidditch in quite some time, so he was perplexed.

"Well just let me know if circumstances change and you need me to cover you Lance. We don't want any mistakes out there.... we have enough of those to take care of." Jake laughed. "You're early this morning, why don't you head down to the cafeteria and pick up a cup of coffee, and while you're down there you can pick me up one, too." Jake smirked, digging his hand into his pocket and taking out a galleon. "Here, it's on me." Jake nodded. It was very important to take care of his employees. They worked very closely together and there wasn't anything Jake wouldn't do for them.

"Take your time down there. I have a lot of work here to catch up anyway. Chances are I'll still be buried by the time you get back. I'll send you an urgent message if anything comes up in the meantime." Jake said as he grabbed a quill and reached over to the pile of papers and began to work on the first parchment that had been on top. "On Mona's next job... I should get her to convince some poor helpless muggle that his or her job is to be my secretary and do all this work for me." Jake laughed.

Lance didn't like to see the concerned on his friend face but he couldn't help in. For one it was very early in the day and two he had bearly any sleep the previous night. He had no clue what he was looking like so he couldn't see what Jake was seeing.

"Come on! Of course I will tell you if anything is wrong. I mean it's important that we are top shape. I'm telling.... Just give me an hour and this would be over." He had doubt about it but most of the time that was what he needed to get back his energy. Chuckling at Jake comments but taking the money he was given him. "First i'm always early but I guess i'm earlier than usual." Still remembering how Jake liked his coffee, he walks toward the door but turned for just a bit. "While i'm there do you want something to eat like a muffin or something?"

Sticking out his tongue at Jake, he did a military salute. "Yes boss!!" Trying to contained himself from laughing at his comment about a secretary, he had to admit that in a way it would have been helpfull but the way Jake was describing was rather funny he would probably be fun to watch. "That would be wicked but as long as she's cute I wont mine."

Dan walked in a bit late with a hovering tray of coffie`s and muffins he makes it land on his desk "Good morning everyone I brought coffie`s because you always forget them anything new today"

Lance jaw dropped when he saw Dan with coffees. He was so greatful of that. "Thanks man. Now I just have to find someone with an aspirin and everything should be perfect." Turning toward Jake and putting the galleon back on his desk, he winked at him. "I guess I wont need it anymore plus your coffee is already here. I'm just going to see if I can go grab a bottle of water at the cafeteria and I'll be back."

Making few steps toward the door but turning once again toward his friend. "If you need me before I came back just send a bludger, I'll know it's from you." He was about to answered to Mona when she run away. Brushing his hair and making his glasses in his vest pocket, he walks out and toward the lifts.

Kallisto Bronte quietly walked into the Accidental Magic Recersal Squad offiice with a messanger bag around her shoulder. She didn't know how it had happened. When she had gotten on the lift she had been early and now she was late. Walking up to her boss Jake Reilly she gave him a sheepish grin.

"Sorry that i'm late sir I got distracted. Did you know that there are alot of offices here? Kallisto asked absentmindedly. Of course he must have known. She thought stupidly right after she asked the question. "Anyways I'll try not to be late again...which probably means that i'll be late almost everyday." She muttered saying the last part in a undertone. Walking to her desk she sat down, took off her messanger bag and waited for her assignment that day. She had only been working here for about a week but so far this job was pretty cool.

Before Kallisto could even reply to what Dan has said he magical dropped a pile of papers on her desk. This was so not fair but she wasn't going to make a big deal out of this. "Ok sure..." She said with a small frown. It was bad enough that he was assigning her paperwork but this much was ridiculous. Shaking her head from the thoughts she looked back at Dan."When do you want all this work finished?"

"Good morning sir. How are you?" Jake asked Dan as he walked in. "Wow, you're a life saver. I was just about to send Lance here down to get us something. I guess he's off the hook now. Many of the magic schools I'm finding do really prepare their students now, although I must admit there's nothing like real life experience to really get the heart pumping. "You know Dan, as much as a pain as the paperwork is . . . and believe me I know I get the majority of it in this division, it keeps us on task and fresh for upcoming field experiences. If you're doing your work properly, it makes you reflect on the day's events and better yourself, which I hope everyone here is taking the opportunity to do. We are by far the strongest division in the Ministry, but we haven't gotten there by sitting around and hoping a little bit of talent and luck will get us by. May I remind everyone that we are constantly being challenged. Learning from even one little mistake can help us better prepare ourselves for the next field experience. Jake took the galleon back from Lance. "Thanks. Guess you'll just have to bring the coffee for me tomorrow." Jake laughed.

Jake watched as Lance straightened himself up before leaving the room with Mona. "Hmmm, I'll have to be sure to ask him what's up with that?" Jake laughed to himself. "If I didn't know better, I think we have a budding relationship blooming. So long as it's not within the same division and it doesn't interfere with his work, I guess I can look past it. Lance does deserve someone, those fan girls from his Quidditch days just don't cut it." Jake thought to himself.

Jake looked up as he heard Lance remark something on his way out. "A bludger? Don't tempt me, I might just do it." He laughed.

Jake looked up as another employee came rushing in. Who was he to complain, when he barely made it on time today. "Hello Kallisto. I was beginning to wonder if yesterday's job was a bit much for you when you didn't come in this morning. So glad you can join us." Jake laughed.

Jake heard her go on about there being a lot of offices in the Ministry and just shook his head. "It's like it's your first day all over again Kallisto. Here," Jake said grabbing a cup of coffee, "This should wake you up and make you feel a bit better. Don't worry we all have those mornings from time to time. As long as you're ready to get to work, no harm or foul in being a few minutes late, although try not to make it a habit. You might miss out on a really important call one morning." Jake warned.

Jake's was getting more impatient with Dan's lack of work ethic this morning. "Dan, if the job is too much for you, I'm sure there's a nice quiet job in the coat room I could set you up with. There's hardly any stress involved, unless of course you misplace someone's coat and then depending on the day they've had here at the Ministry, it might not be pretty. However...." Jake said as he took out his wand and placed Dan's paper work back on his desk, "I'm sure you were just teasing Kallisto for being a bit late this morning. Besides, you'd never ask a lady to do your dirty work for you, now would you?"

As Jake watched the young woman pop in and out of the room at lightning speed, he couldn't help but laugh. "A bit eager that one is. Good for her though. Mona always enjoys enthusiastic employees." Jake grinned.

"If you even touch that pile, I'll have to give you the rest of the division's paper work to do, too - just to make you think about how insane you were for saying yes to doing someone else's work to begin with. No, Dan is more than capable of doing his own work Thank You very much. And if he isn't...well then I'll deal with that when the time comes. So sit down and relax and drink that coffee Kallisto. Something tells me we have a long day ahead of us, and I want us all to be well prepared." Jake smiled.

Kallisto gave Jake a small smile. How could this job be to much for her? It was one of the best jobs that she had ever had, and she knew this even if she had only worked here for the short amount of time. Taking the cup of coffee she smiled and nodded.

Giving Jake a confused look the 21 year old blinked. "So wouldn't I get in trouble for doing to work you gave me too since that is other peoples work? And if I got in trouble for that your a really weird boss." She said not trying to insult him. Taking a sip of coffee Kallisto smiled, drinking coffee in the morning and relaxing this job was to easy.

Looking back at Dan she sighed, he really didn't undstand the point of paperwork did he?"Paperwork is important Dan, without it this whole squad could barley run. It's like....a wand with out the magic."

Jake just shook his head, trying not tto laugh at Dan's response. The truth was he had no idea if there was a coat room or not, he just wanted to get the point across to Dan that if he wasn't happy in the department there were other places he could be transferred to. Seeing Dan get to work though, showed Jake, Dan's dedication. Jake smirked at Dan and reminded him "Be patient Dan, I'm sure there's going to be plenty of work to do soon enough to keep us all busy for some time. So just relax, and finish that up so you're caught up when the time comes to head out. You don't want to find yourself back logged and unable to go out on a call, now would you?"

"Drink up that coffee, and when you're a bit more awake, we'll talk about the meaning of a joke." Jake teased. "Of course I'd never give you my paper work or any one else's paper work to do for that matter. And you're coworkers shouldn't be doing it either." Jake said looking over at Dan.

Anyway, Jake said turning to the rest of the office still smiling. "Alright guys, back to work. Let's tie up all our lose ends, finish any paper work that needs to be done, and if nothing new comes in soon, mabye we'll run some mock scenarios to keep us on our toes today." Jake said as he reluctantly picked up a quill and began to work on his own paperwork.

Jake raised an eyebrow at Dan. "Being a little pessimistic are we? A bit of down time comes around and suddenly we're out of business?" Jake laughed.

"I thought you guys would be happy with a bit of a break considering how hard we've been working as of late." Jake sighed, "Anyway, it's no big deal a little peace and quiet never hurt anyone. Take advantage of it while you can, I'm sure there's plenty of madness happening as we speak, and it will just be a matter of time before we're out there, righting all the wrongs once again. I just hope not something involving some underage wizard unable to contain his emotions. I swear they should teach an anger management course at Hogwarts so those kind of incidents don't happen." Jake smirked.

Looking to keep the atmosphere light, Jake thought he'd have a little fun and ask, "So any thoughts as to what the days' first call might involve? A switching charm gone awry? A jinx backfiring on his caster? An over enthusiastic blowing up a potion she was mixing with horrific results" Jake laughed. "You have to love this department. The possibilities really are endless."

Lance walks back in the office after a long time spend in the cafeteria. He had brought back a bottle of water and some pretzels that was in his back pocket. Noticing that Dan was about to leave, he didn't make any comments. Smiling at Kallisto as he passed next to her desk, he went straight toward his. Still haven't heard of anything big to do, he decided to put some orders to what he had laying on his desk.
