Accidental Breakroom

Located here is the breakroom for all employees within the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes (Department of MAC). Come in and relax your mind or take a break and eat a Chocolate Frog or two. Remember to clean up after yourselves when you're finished.

"It can be done! Anything can be done! You just have to keep a positive mind about you!" He pulled out his beech wand and summoned all the glass to a nearby table. “Watch oh ye of little faith.” He laughed heartily to himself and then sat down and started poking and prodding the bits of glass with the end of his wand.

Yusuke leaned over to watch Trism attempt to mend the pot. He blinked and watched the pieces converge and then he examined Trism's prodding of the glass pieces.

"So... What... what are you doing there?" he asked, watching like a child with his nose pressed to a shop window.

Ivan stood just to Trism's right to watch the pot-repair attempt, just as curious as Yusuke as to whether this would work - and how. He scratched his chin and leaned a bit, bumped Trism's arm. "Sorry, sorry." Ivan backed up an inch and then bent, again bumping Trism's arm.

Despite the second bump, he ignored Ivan and went back to mending the pot. He poked a piece her and a piece there, putting it into some semblance of an order then, tapping it 5 times in a star-shaped pattern, he muttered 'reparo' under his breath. The glass shuddered a bit, wiggled, formed something that resembled a duck and then fell to the table again. "Mmm...Think I needed a stronger star pattern."

Yusuke smiled and crossed his arms in front of his chest. It was an impressive feat, even if it did fail at first. He could see what Trism was getting at now.

"Try, try again I always say," he said quietly as to let Trism concentrate.

Trism was a curious one, but Yusuke liked that. He'd be and interesting person to work with.

Ivan wasn't sure what he'd expected. Well, probably he'd expected success. So he was disappointed. Nonetheless, Trism was prepared to try again. Ivan pulled out a chair and sat down. This might take awhile. But it certainly would be worth watching. "So, do you---" Trism shushed him. Ivan shut up. His eyes met Yusuke's. Ivan smiled and winked.

Yusuke shrugged and smiled at Ivan's wink. Trism, once in a serious, concentration mode, was pretty intense. It was quite a sight really. He continued to watch his co-worker try to put the pot back together.

Yusuke felt kind of bad that he had shattered the pieces a bit further whilst hitting them with his spell...

He tired the six pointed star. The pot came together, shaped like a Fish. It flopped about in the air for a moment then crashed back down onto the table. A few of the bigger pieces broke. "No no no - didn't have them in the right order." He moved a bunch of the pieces around in a different pattern and then the six pointed star again. The glass wiggled, looked like an oddly shaped sand timer and then collapsed. "Mmm...more power." He put the glass pieces back into the same pattern. He used a seven pointed star and This time the pot came together to look like a pot. "Ta-DA!"

"Brilliant!" Ivan took the pot from Trism, thrilled to have one less thing to pay for, and examined it thoroughly. "Uh oh. Except for this part." Ivan's finger tapped a small hole in the shape of rabbit ears. He blinked and peer closer. "Maybe we didn't get all the pieces?"

Yusuke gasped as the pot came back together. He picked it up and turned it about in his hands.

"Wow... You actually did it! This is amazing! Except for that little hole..." he smiled, setting it back down on the table.

"You're good otherwise, Trism. Very good," he said giving the man a pat on the back.

He shrugged. "Musta missed something. Maybe it was stuck in the tuna?" He scratched his chin. "Anyways - better then naught right?" He took the pot and set it back down the burner. "Now - we're in need of new food aren't we?" He wandered off to look into the snack machines.

"We most certainly are," he said, sitting down again.

"That ordeal has left me hungrier than I was," he chuckled and rubbed his head. "I guess spellcasting takes a lot out of me. Hence wh I used to eat a ton before my duels."

He watched Trism head toward the snack machines. There probably wasn't any tuna in them though...

As if reminded by Yusuke's comment, Ivan stomach rumbled and demanded lunch. Ivan patted himself and followed Yusuke and Trism to the vending machines. "Um...." He looked it over. There was something called 'beef jerky' - Ivan had no idea what that was, but beef sounded good. Filling. So he ordered it.

"How about some tea, then, since coffee's out?" Who knew, perhaps there were teabags in the cupboards. After all, this was England. The English drank tea. It was like water to them. Drop a Brit in the desert and he'd still make time to drink hot tea before crawling to the nearest oasis.

Yusuke smiled and also got some jerky out of the machine.

"Ooh, the good stuff too," he commented, opening the bag up.

"Tea sounds fine. Though I'm not the biggest hot tea drinker..." Yusuke said, tearing a strip of the jerky off.

"Tea? Tea? Oh find some hot water and we're all game. I have tea leaves in my pocket." He pulled out a plump silver pull stringed bag and wiggled it in front of Ivan's nose. "Just don't use it all. I won't be able to replace it for another week."

He pushed his nose up to the vending machine glass and then looked around. He pushed the button for a package of snoodle-doodles and then bent down and retrieved them. "Any luck on the water?

Yusuke watched his coworker pull tea out of his pocket. He blinked and opened his mouth to talk.

"Uh... Well that's convienient! Though why would you have to wait a week?" he asked, looking around for another recepticle to heat some water in.

Ivan pulled some tried, disgusting-looking brown leather out of the vending machine - apparently it was the response to his request for beefy jerky. He sniffed and made a face. And then, because he was hungry, Ivan ate it anyway. It was like....salty leather. He considered. He shrugged. And then he went in search of mugs for the tea.

Yusuke went and found a pot in a cabinet. He filled it with water from the tap and then started the stove to start heating it.

"Should be good to go soon," he said, eating some more jerky.

"Mm... I haven't had this stuff in a looong time," he said, gulping the tough meat down.

"Because tasseomancy leaves are expensive right now. Apparently the crop got attacked by Dodo birds." He walked over to a clean table and sat down pulling open his bag of snoodle-doodles. A few escaped flying into the air and landed on the table with a crunch.

He turned back to Trism and smiled.

"So, you do that divination stuff eh?" he asked, putting his hands on his hips.

Ivan sat back down at the table, throwing his legs up on a conveniently located nearby chair. "So...um....where you from? I mean....from London?" Ivan wondered if they were allowed to say. And then it occured to him to wonder, were Yusuke and Trism even their real names? He eyed them both suspiciously. But on the other hand, they both seemed so...innocent, open, welcoming? Could that really all be just a ruse? No, no. He was imagining things. Ivan tossed the idea aside as quickly as it'd come and attended to their responses.

" Straffordshire, is where I hail from. And I don't just do divination stuff. When done properly - which it isn't by many - it's a way of life. I scry every evening before bed, and watch the clouds every morning before work. And tea leaves, well that is a very special occasion." He pulled the pot of water over and pored three cups, added a pinch of leaves and then passed them out. He popped a snoodle-doodle into his mouth.

"Hm?" Yusuke asked turning to Icvan.

"Ah, well, my brother and I were born in America. So I guess I'm technically American," he said, rubbing his chin. "Though my mother is British... so we moved to England when I was... 11? 12? One of the two. Most likely 11."

He watched Trism take over with the tea and smiled.

"Ohh. I was just asking about the Divination, because I'm not quite good at it. I get confused with all the symbolism."

"A way of life, eh?" Ivan was amused, but also intrigued. And also noted that clearly Yusuke was not a diviner Which meant....what exactly? Ivan didn't know. Apparently the Unspeakables weren't all gifted the same way. Maybe they were assigned their jobs or took them, just like everyone else. No particular experience necessary?

"So...um...Trism, will you show us how it works? Do our..um...tea leaves, right?" Ivan had once dated a person who was into tea leaves. It was the only thing Ivan really knew about divination. It hadn't been his subject of choice in school.

Yusuke smiled, turning to Trism as well.

"Yeah, I'd like to see you do something too," he said running a hand through his hair.

He knew how to divine, but as he said, he always got a bit muddled and had to check books constantly. There was just so much to memorize! How Trism managed to do it was beyond him, but kudos to him for doing it.
