Feeling the heat? Why not cool your writing down with these ice bearing, soul sucking creatures? Whether they are a main component, mentioned in passing, or used as a metaphor, the choice is yours but just be sure dementors are included somewhere in your entry when submitting for this mini challenge.

Oh, and make sure you have your wand at the ready. Hate to have one of them give you a kissy kissy before you finish writing

When one thinks of March, thoughts about St. Patrick's Day, leprechauns, pots of gold, shamrocks, and rainbows come to mind. Finding any of these things would make you one lucky person, yeah? The phrase luck of the Irish is commonly thought to mean “extreme good fortune.” However, according to Edward T. O’Donnell, an Associate Professor of History at Holy Cross College and author of 1001 Things Everyone Should Know About Irish American History, the term has not an Irish origin but “a happier, if not altogether positive,” American one.

"During the gold and silver rush years in the second half of the 19th century, a number of the most famous and successful miners were of Irish and Irish American birth. . . .Over time this association of the Irish with mining fortunes led to the expression 'luck of the Irish.'"

So why not make one of your drabbles especially lucky - or unlucky or the case may be? Whether your character has stumbled upon a four leaf clover, draw from the Unlucky Dip in Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, or snuggling with their lucky teddy bear, make sure your drabble includes a little bit of luck!

This form of narrative voice is told by an "I," but this "I" is not the main character of the story but a a less important character witnessing events and telling them to the reader. Are your drabbles/ficlets about Harry Potter? Try writing a drabble from Ron Weasley's perspective or even Colin Creevey!

In western astrology, there are 12 signs but standing for 12 periods of a year. According to natural distribution, stars are divided into many regions of different sizes, each called a constellation. The astrologists divide a year is into 12 periods, during each period the sun being in a constellation area. People believe that different signs of the zodiac present different characteristics and talents. The 12 signs are Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces.

So let the stars, the celestial sphere, take the helm of your writing and draw inspiration from one of the 12 signs of the zodiac!

We each draw inspiration from different places. Some of us are more inspired by color. Others shape or overall design. Then there are some of us who become inspired based on a feeling or a memory invoked when we look at something. So what is is for you? What inspires you?

For this mini challenge you will be given a picture which your drabble should be inspired from. How it is inspired is entirely up to you! Is it the color? An object with in the image itself? Is your character actually IN the picture somewhere? The possibilities are endless!
