{Group 08, Prompt 01}

Spring was here!

An overjoyed Idris - in Animagus form of a cat - promptly leapt into action by leaping among the tall, green blades of grass.

Prance, prance, jump!

Prance, prance, jump!

“What an adventure!” he thought. “Paul must love this!” Id sprang around to see his partner in crime - also in cat form - sitting solemnly nearby. Id inclined his head, indicating Paul should join him in these many prances. Paul fixed him with an unamused look that declined the offer.

Id playfully rolled his eyes, intending to drag Paul with him but…

Ooh! A butterfly!

He chased after it instead.

Idris Grunt & Paul Rocker: Sorting Hat Ceremony - September 2113 [Term 67; May 2024]

“Paul Rocker”

Paul shoved past a few of his future classmates on his way to the stool in the middle. He sat as straight as possible to keep a proper posture. The hat was placed on his head.

“Hmm… difficult. Many qualities suit you. But two stand out the most.. Gryffindor-”

Paul’s eyes glanced momentarily at where Idris sat with the Gryffindors smiling at him. His only friend. He didn’t deserve such a good person.

“No. Not there, any place but there.”

“Well… if you’re so certain..”

“I am.”

Paul closed his eyes as he expected to hear Slytherin.

“…HUFFLEPUFF!”

3. Kneazle
{Group 19, Prompt 02}

Idris leaned against Paul’s shoulder, fighting the urge to double over with mirth as the pair sat there in the grass.

“Maybe you knitted the sweater one size too small,” Paul muttered grumpily.

“I didn’t.”

“Quit laughing then, and help me, Idris!”

Biting his lower lip in feigned concentration, Id lifted Nes. “Who’s the best kneazle? That’s right! It’s you, Nes! Hold still for your papas. Please.”

With a resigned meow, Nes stopped squirming. The light blue sweater was slipped easily over him.

“Was that so -” A faster-than-lightning pink paw swiped through the air to claw at Paul’s nearest arm.

Paul did not scare easily. He was headed to the Third Floor to get a proper expert for this essay on electrical outlets.

Knock, knock, knock.

The door opened, answered by Professor Feirgrund who looked down from his mighty height. "Yes, Master Rocker?"

"..." Paul avoided their eyes. "Professor.. Erm... you taught Muggle Studies before so-"

Feirgrund smiled, "Come on in." He stepped aside for Paul.

Once inside, Paul froze at the sight of Idris in one of the chairs. He was smiling wide at him. "Hi, Paully!"

Great... So much for secrets. Well, at least they'll get homework done faster.

5. Midnight Feast
{Group 05, Prompt 05}

“We’re having a midnight feast!’’

Nineteen year old Idris attempted a grin but succeeded in coughing as Paul put a steaming bowl of soup down. A look of misery washed over him as he pulled the blanket tighter around him.

“You’re having a midnight feast, Iddy,” Paul said soothingly. The moment he sat down, Idris snuggled up to him.

“I’ll try not to get you sick, Paully.”

“Never mind that. You need to eat.”

“Only if you feed me.”

“You’re in no position to be bargaining.”

Cough, cough. “Then I won’t eat.”

“You’ve always been stubborn. Okay, fine. Open wide.”
