Beyond the entrance doors to this prestigious institution of wizarding learning, one is greeted with the elegant reception foyer. The décor is both clean and sophisticated with an air of elegance. Light soft colors give you a sampling of what you can expect throughout the rest of the castle. Several sofas and matching chairs that appear almost too fancy to sit in are strategically placed along the walls.
There are four, immaculate, white doors leading to different parts of the castle or back outside. The largest and grandest takes you to the Dining Chamber where all meals are had. The door to the far left takes you to the kitchen and bakery. The last leads to the corridor that houses the spiraling staircases that lead to the higher floors.

It was a longer journey from London to France, then if she'd gone to Scotland, but Tiffany was bouncing with excitement regardless. While disappointed she wouldn't be seeing some of the familiar faces she'd grown attached to at St Woboldo's, she had Johnny and Ari with her and that was enough. And it wasn't like she couldn't write to them and see how they were getting by at Hogwarts.
The foyer seemed so elegant and grand here, the eleven year old surveying everything as she stepped in curiously following the crowds and wondering how this was all going to work. Would everything be in French ? Did these students know English too? While her French skills had improved since she'd begun tutoring - thank goodness - she just hoped it would be enough to get by. Maybe she'd be at least be in the same house with Ari so they'd have each other to talk to in English if a break was needed from all the French.

Johnny was already loving being in France. He already loved this Castle. He already knew that he wanted to spend all of his seven years here. True, he hadn’t the opportunity to explore the majestic Beauxbatons Castle as yet since they just got here but this happy spirit of a boy knew he was going to be dazzled by the place everyday.
Spotting Tiff’s expression as they bobbed along with the others. He nudged her. “What’s on your mind, sis?” he asked in French. It made really good sense that he start speaking the language most if not all of the time. Wait. Did that mean he might forget how to speak English? Was that how being bilingual worked?

Johnny had now confused himself.
Tiffany wasn't as convinced as her brother was. It wasn't that she didn't find the castle dazzling or enchanting. Anyone with two eyes would find the charm in such a building, but the situation was a lot more nuanced than that. It just seemed so strange and hearing french come out of her brother's mouth was more alarming, even though they'd been practicing for a little over a year now.
"Everything .... and nothing," she said shaking her head realizing how confusing that sounded. "It'd just... this all seems like it's a dream, doesn't it? Like we'll wake up and realize none of this is real?" Perhaps she was being ridiculous. Maybe writing to one of the girls she met in Scribbulus would help distract herself from the confusing feelings.

Was that why Tiff looked a little ruffled? Because he was speaking French? This was the moment they had been preparing for! All those French lessons, all the good and the bad times, the times they felt lazy to practice conversing in the language, and certainly the times Johnny fell about giggling because he kept mixing up his translations, had all been in preparation for this!
“Ahh, you sound like a wise, old philosopher.” Johnny imitated hobbling along like an old person, complete with a hunched back and an imaginary cane. But then he straightened his posture. This talk was getting serious. The curly haired guy could tell that his sister was having some sort of moment. “It does seem that way.” Johnny reached out to link an arm through Tiff’s. “But when we wake in the morning, we’ll still be here. And if you miss our home, you have me and Ari to keep you company. And to help remind you that this is very, very, very real.”

Yesss exactly that ... they'd been preparing for this and surely the bilingual-ness would come into handy. She definitely was mixing up the translations and half the time she felt like an imposter or that she was going to pronounce something incorrectly and it would actually be an obscenity. Language paranoia was a real thing.
Tiffany thwacked him lightly on the head, as one can only do with their sibling. "Maybe that was part of mum and dad's plan. Get us to grow up faster," she giggled. She sniffled at his words though, feeling all sorts of comfort in them. "Shall we embark on this grand adventure and see more of this fine château?" She for one was eager to see their sortings. She was very familiar with the Hogwarts House system, but the Beauxbatons system was brand new and exploring such territory was definitely going to be exciting!
