Can you tell us a little bit about yourself? Who are you and what makes you tick? Haii everyone *waves at you all* I'm Eviee and I'm from England. *stares out window at pouring rain* There's not really much to tell about me, I'm studying dance at college, I love to read and write and just help anyone I can.
*watches the rain with you* I like rain...especially the smell of it. *ahem* Oh? You dance too? What is your favorite form of dance and can you teach me?! *has only ever done musical theater and VERY basic hip hop* *dances round you* I would have to say Ballet, I mean I've been learning it since I was 9. *takes your hand to twirl you around* but I'm up for learning something new.
Oh wow. I don't think I am graceful enough to be able to pull anything even remotely resembling ballet off! *twirls with you anyway* Weee!
Tell us a bit about your SS history! Well I joined back in 2007 and fell right into it all, I took a year out however around 2008/2009 but missed SS too much and came right back and here I am now. Hanging around the FC's and FF's trying to keep up with everything!
Oh! You make me feel so SS young! What is it about SS that made you want to come back? The FC's? The fan fiction? All of the above? *thinks* I would have to say the Fan Fiction, I'm not sure what It was but one day I woke up and thought "I want to go back to Snitchseeker, see what stories people have created" and Vola, here I am.
And SnitchSeeker certainly does have a lot of very talented writers! What do you do when you are not writing? I perform, that's the two main things I do *nods* but if I'm honest; writing will always come on top (: I do try and make time for those who mean a lot of my in my life and time to help others. I just really try to fill up my time with everything.
A writer AND a performer! That sounds like a winning combination to me. Perhaps this means you could write a SS musical? Combine your two talents Oooh, I like that idea *smiles broadly and starts to come up with new ideas*
Brilliant! I'll have my people call your people and we can get lunch. Maybe even get Darren Criss to play one of the parts
When did you first start writing? When haven't I been writing is the question? I've been writing since way before I can remember, before SS I just wrote really whatever I fancied and went from there, SS gave me the opportunity to show people my work and gave me a little more confidence with it
*giggles* And we certainly appreciate you sharing your talents with us! *points at everyone out there* Seriously folks, if you haven't already, you should go read Eviee 's writing.
How did you choose the genre you write in? I mainly focus on romance and tragedy/adventure because those interest me the most, therefore I feel I can stick with my stories instead of just getting bored of my work. Oh and throw some history in there also, I live for historical writing *bounces*
Oh my Rowling! I adore historical writings as well! Which is sort of ironic since history was probably my least favorite subject in school
Do you ever experience writer’s block? All the time, sometimes I'll be doing something and BAM this great paragraph comes to mind - sadly I don't always get it on paper in time - but other times, nothing. *sulks*
*pets you* Do you have a way of dealing with writer's block when it does strike? Taking walks? Listening to music? Stuffing your face with marshmallows? I tend to just move on, go do something different for a bit then go back to my work but walks and listening to music can be very good as you can get inspiration for a story. *nods and attempts a walk
Do you work with an outline, or just write? Really depends on what I want to do with the finish product. If I'm just writing a short extended piece of writing from a story I love then I don't have an outline, but If I'm writing a long story - like my FF's and the NaNoWriMo novel from last year then I tend to write an outline, with character's bio's and the like.
Ohohoho, I would love to be a fly on your wall to take a peek at these outlines and character bios *goes to find wand* Human transfiguration isn't that hard, right? But, in all seriousness, do you find that despite having things outlined that the course of your story changes as you go, or does it usually stay the same? All the time, I think more time's then I'd like them too, but you can really get mad at these things. *shakes head
Yes, characters do tend to do that to you Is there any particular author or book that influenced you in any way either growing up or as an adult? The Harry Potter series is a definite in that list, but really I don't have many because to me books influence me in one way or another as I read them. (:
Spoken like a true book lover *applauds* So, as a true book lover, do you have a favorite book? No. -hides- I could never bring myself to chose a favourite. There are so many amazing books out there to really narrow it down to just one.
*le gasp* How about you list the first 5 books or authors that come to mind then? Okay? Ready....GO! Oooh okay here we go! *counts*
1. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azaban
2. The Secret Life of Bees
3. The Hunger Games
4. The Fellowship of the Ring
5. The Knights Crusader
There, If you do happen to read any of these you haven't before, enjoy!
*stares at list and makes this face: * Gooooooooood five right there.
How has JK Rowling inspired you as an author? She showed me that anyone can write anything and make it sound and look amazing, she taught me that anything can be written into a story and that one should not be afraid to try writing something new....Well that's how I feel anyway -hides in embarrassment-
*drags you out from hiding* No need to feel embarrassed. I am sure that JK Rowling would love to hear how she has inspired you as a writer.
What was your favorite chapter/part/story to write and why? I actually really enjoyed writing my first FF on here 'The New Nightmare', which I admit isn't my best work, but I love the intensity of the entire story - although unrealistic at times. Really I'd love to just go over all my writing piece's and edit them but finding the time is difficult.
Was that also your first Harry Potter based fan fiction? I do always love reading about how people envision the wizarding world post book 7, so it was an enjoyable read for me and I am a sucker for intensity. *nods* It was indeed, a big thing for me at the time. I was 12 I believe when I wrote it. :O *shocked*
Oh my Rowling! So ickle
Do your characters try to make like bunnies and create ever more convoluted plots for you? Or do you have to coax them out of your characters?. My character's are a bit like me, shy, afraid to let the world know who they really are and what they are capable of, sometimes It hard to write with them but other times they do show me what they can do
Aw, that's cute. *brings you and all your characters into a giant group hug*
How did you come up with titles? What I tend to do is string a bunch of words together and hope for the best really. I certainly did this with my first FF. The one however I'm currently writing with Lily we both came up with and my other FF 'A Broken Wing' is in fact a song name by Martha Mcbride. You should all check it out
*adds song to playlist* Will be sure to do so.
Are there certain characters you would like to go back to, or is there a theme or idea you’d love to work with? If I could I would go back to my first FF and really go back through it and make it more realistic in my eyes and post it all again, but then again I was thinking of just writing a squeal to it. Unsure. *wonders* I'd like to however focus on Luna and write a story about her, because to me she poses so many idea's and plot twists that would be amazing to read and just write!
I would FOREVER fangirl you more if you did a story on Luna. Although, seeing a reworking of your first fan fiction would also be amazing.
What do you think makes a good story? A story that always has twist's and turns, that can capture the audience's mind in a few pages, always throwing the unexpected at you. That to me makes a great story, something you wish would never end when it does. Like Harry Potter.
*wibbles* I am actually still sort of in denial that Harry Potter is over... which means it is time for a distraction! Time for a series of either/or questions!
Light or dark chocolate? Light, could give you a run down on flavor chocolate's but I'll save you the boredom.
Dogs or cats? Cats, but only because I know what it's like to live with one.
Tea or coffee? Tea *nods* Coffee is just blah!
Light side or dark side? Light Side, couldn't bare to be on the Dark Side. Makes me sound pretty weak...but still
Pen & paper or computer? I'm on-the-go type of girl so pen and paper work best for me.
Night or day? The best inspiration comes at night
Vanilla or chocolate? Vanilla *nomnoms*
Left or right? Right -waves right hand-
Sadly, it is time to start wrapping things up Do you have any advice to give to aspiring writers? Yes, don't throw anything away even if it looks too small or silly to keep. You never know you might find use of it later on (: and never lose faith in your writing.
That is SO true. I remember once I a very rough start of a story written down and looked at one day thinking, "Hmmm, this is rubbish!" so I tossed it only to wish a little I had it back *hangs head in shame*
Is there anything that you would like to say to your readers and fans? I'd like to say thank you to anyone who has read or is currently reading any of my past or present FF's, it's always the best feeling in the world when people appreciate your writing. Thank you again.
And there you have it folks! Thank you again Eviee for taking the time out to answer all these questions and a BIG thank you for sharing your amazing writing with us! |

It's a pleasure to read your ff's. I love how you write Snape in , 'A Broken Wing' so far. I tend to be very critical how people write Snape, and you did very well with him. Best of luck with all your writing endeavors. |
