| | Author Spotlight: GlassXRose GlassXRose has won the Sorting Hat Song challenge! Come get to know her. GlassXRose Droo YAY!!! YOU are the winner of the Sorting Hat Song! WOOOOOOOT! Ok, first and foremost, what led you to Harry Potter? Y'know, I can't honestly clearly remember. But I know that when it FIRST came out, I wasn't really interested, and then one day I said "Okay, fine, let's see what the big deal is", and I picked up the first book at around the time the third book was being released. After Chamber of Secrets, I was hooked. At Half-Blood Prince, I was completely obsessed. I think we are all totally obsessed! How did you find SnitchSeeker? News. I'm pretty sure one day I'd been looking for HP news, and came across SnitchSeeker. Then I saw it was also a roleplay site and joined, and what was a plus was that it also accepted fan fictions. I'd been writing one at the time, and had been itching to post it somewhere. SS just had everything I was looking for. You know I think you are the first person I interviewed that said that. Neat! So, you are a Ravenclaw. Did you think you were going to be 'Claw? Not at all. I thought I'd end up in Slytherin, but once I was in Ravenclaw I was like "...OOOH! That makes sense!" Ever since then, I've been a TOTAL Ravenclaw. *Waves a little flag* LOL!!! Slytherin Rocks! Now that you can change your house after 7 terms of RPing, you can have your hand at it! *brings you to the dark side* What got you started on writing poetry? I've written lots of free-verse poetry, mostly on little slips of paper that get lost in all my stuff, mostly because I found keeping a journal was too... one-sided. I thought poetry was a better expression of raw emotion than just spouting out words. Oooo... Have you been writing long? I started getting interested in writing when I was in the fourth grade, but it wasn't until I was in seventh grade that I got serious about it. I love to write. I write poetry, I've written a few plays, many short stories, and I'm even working on a series of novels. The first book is almost finished, and I'm currently seeking an agent/publisher. I'd like to go into journalism, or even radio, but that's another story. Besides the HP series, what are your favorite books? The Cirque Du Freak series is awesome! I've also read all of the Series of Unfortunate Events books (Spectacular!) I'm definitely not a fan of Twilight, but I've read all the books, and cannot deny that Steph has talent. There's a few books of the Darkside series, which is like Cirque Du Freak, but more mystery, less drama, that's great if, like me, you prefer reading fantasy. But perhaps my favorite book is Green Angel, which is a very emotional little book about a young lady whose family is killed on 9/11, and is left by herself in the small cottage they lived in. She is blinded by the ashes, and becomes isolated and angry at the world, sewing thorns into her clothes, and tattooing every inch of her skin with a bottle of ink and a thorn. There's almost no dialogue in this book, but it's brilliantly written. I've never read the part two, but Green Angel is amazing all by itself. *writes down all the books she hasn't heard about* Oh... right. The interview... If you were a Harry Potter character who would you be? Gah. That's so hard. My first instinct is to say Snape, but he's just perfect the way he is, and I'm not that emotionally messed-up. Hm. I'm probably most like Sirius. He is loyal and devoted, despite being mis-treated by the world. He would do anything for those he loves. He IS pretty awesome... You know what's funny? You are a Ravenclaw, who thought she'd be in Slytherin, who admires a Gryffindor for his Hufflepuff qualities. LOL! What was your inspiration for this song? The first Sorting Hat song in the HP series, I suppose. I didn't want to write a song like in the later books, where the hat was warning the students (even though I DID write a version like that). I was also a little inspired by a few Shakespeare monologues, in a weird sort of way. I just tried to think of how important the Sorting Hat's job really is. I loved your last character in the school. Will you be Roleplaying a new character in the school this term? Yessss. I ADORE RPing. Even though I will miss Arienna terribly, her time is over. This term my little puppet is a young lady by the name of Kanalynne Basthowe, who is based on myself, combined with a few characters from my short stories, plus a few people here on SS. It'll feel strange to not RP someone with a major flaw like Ponessa (agoraphobic) or Ari (blind). In fact, I've had to actually try very hard to write the words "look", "see", "stared", "gazed", etc., because I'm so used to Ari. Kana will be my next great adventure, and I look forward to developing her in the next few terms. Awww I can't wait to see your new charrie! What is the one thing you are looking forward to this term? Just one?? Hm. I suppose the plot. The mods/admins always come up with the best plots. But I'm not only looking forward to the school plot, but all the little personal plots are fun to follow and get involved in. Ok Last question. If you were a Bertie Botts Everyflavour Bean, what flavour would you be? Ink, apparently. I don't know who all was involved with that quiz, but it was very fitting, and I agree. I'd be ink. I think I bleed ink. But, if not ink, thennnn... Possibly awesomesauce. I'd be awesomesauce. Hahaha, Awesomesauce it is! Congratulations and I hope to see you around the school! Teehee. Thanks so much. |

Lovely interview!
Aw, you began to love HP around the time POA was released? Another old fan!
Hm... maybe you're ink-flavored because you're a writer?
AND... I understand your love for Sirius, but Snape is pretty snazzy as well.
Go Ravenclaw! xD
