The festivity is set during IC December which will be taking place from Ooc january 31-feburary 9th.
Coming back from eating lunch in the Great Hall you’ll be met by a huge Christmas tree that is being put up in the middle of the common room. Not too far from the tree you can see your Head of House Mr Kitridge, wand in hand, a santa hat on his head, clad in christmasy coloured robes fussing around with a large selection of coloured Christmas lights for the tree and muttering loudly to himself. A cursory glance around the common room will show you that some gnomes and an assortment of other Christmas decorations have been put up too by Mrs Tanner.
No Christmas tree is though complete without the star on top or all the beautiful Christmas ornaments. So run up to your dorms and grab the ornament your parent’s sent you from home, pull up your robe sleeves and get involved in transforming the eagle den into a room that takes Christmas to Hogwarts. If you for some reason forgot to ask for a christmas ornament from home or it got lost in the owl mail then don’t feel sad or left out. Come on down and have a look in the large brown carbon box at Mr Kitridge’s feet. Maybe you’ll find something special in there that you’d like to put on the tree that signifies Christmas for you.
Ooc: Ho-Ho-Ho Eagles! Christmas has come to the Common Room. Bring your Christmas cheer and have your students join your house leaders for a magnificent Christmas celebration.
After a small lunch, Coral made her way back up to the common room, stomach a tiny bit rumbly with the intention of raiding Sophie's candy stash. But.... What's this? Decorating? Christmas decorating???? HOW EXCITING. And right up this girl's alley. Hehe.
"Professor? Can I help you with that?" She inched toward the struggling librarian with the intent to help him whether he truly needed it or not.
And where was Kyroh? She needed her decorating buddy.

Janelle decided to return to the Common Room after lunch to take a much needed break before her next class. She was surprised to see that a Cristmas tree greeted her as she entered the room. Cool. Christmas was Janelle's favorite holiday and she was definitely in the spirit.
She dashed upstairs to retrieve the ornament that her mother had sent her. It was her favorite and it reminded her of her family. Even though they were spread around the world, the ornament made Janelle feel like they were all with her at Hogwarts.
Returning to the Common Room, she saw her Head of House and Prefect already at work. Walking over to them, Janelle said, "Hi, do you need some help?". She was ready to work and it would be fun.

It was December, and even though Kate was soon heading home for the holidays, she'd gotten an ornament sent from home. It was a reindeer ornament she'd made with her mom when she'd been about six or seven years old. It was made out of clothespins and had eyes, a red pom pom nose, and sticks for antlers. There were other features, too, but those were the main ones. "Hey, Mr. Kittridge!" she said, walking into the room. "I brought my ornament." She let the reindeer dangle from her fingers and she showed him.
She must have been early, because only CB and Janelle were already here. Well, as far as students, that is. "Merry Christmas," she said to both of them. Maybe all the others had already gone home for the holidays. She was about to ask if anybody needed any help, but Janelle had just done that, so she'd wait to hear whatever answer she got.

Christmas! By far the best season of the year! Ho ho ho and mistletoe, skating rinks and fragrant trees, mugs of eggnog and her mother's currant pudding. What could be better? And this year, her house was getting their own taste right in their residence.
"Happy Christmas, Ravenclaws!" she said cheerily upon entering the room. "Let's get to decorating this place up in holiday spirit!"
Austin walked down the stairs, a small box in hand. He was glad his father had actually read his letter for once. It seemed that he didn't do much of anything that related to Austin these days. But the old man did send his favorite ornament. It was one he was given to by his mother, so obviously it was his favorite. He wasn't going to unveil it just yet. But he wasn't going to put down the box at all. This meant too much to him.
He stood over by the fireplace, steering clear of the incoming students. The blue-eyed-boy was not feeling up for interacting with people, but professor Tanner had specifically asked if he would go, so he wasn't going to let her down. Especially after what had happened at the beginning of the year.
Party time!?!!!!?!?!?

This was ridiculous! Who designed these mini coloured light strands? Did they design them for the sole purpose of giving those who wanted to use them headaches? Leo was concentrated on the lights that were tangled up in what could for lack of better word be described as a rats nest at his feet when Coral Bay arrived. Turning to the dark haired prefect he sighed out with a big smile "Hello, Coral-Bay. Yes, please help me untangle this light bulb mess."
SPOILER!!: Janelle

Sighting more help in the form of a first year Leo beamed "Hello Janelle. Yes please help Coral-Bay untangle the rat nest that is our light strands for the Christmas tree." Or we won’t have any lights in the tree. Leo knew that he could have fixed the tangled mess with an easy spell but this way the eagles could work together to solve the problem.
SPOILER!!: Kate

The next girl to join him by the tree was Kate who had fetched her ornament from her dorm. Eyeing it Leo said "Hi Kate. Cute reindeer, do you want to help Coral-Bay and Janelle with the lights or do you want to do me a big favour and see if you can find the top star in the big brown ornament box?" He wasn’t exactly sure exactly was in the Christmas ornaments box but there had to be a star right?

Glancing around the room, calculating where to put up the garlands and gnomes Leo’s eyes landed on Austin Moore. After the incident at the feast and the resulting punishment he hadn’t seen much of the blue eyed boy. Waving at him with a warm smile Leo called out "Merry Christmas Austin! Want to help with hanging up garlands?"

Spotting Tiara come in through the door he waved her over saying "Merry Christmas Tiara! Want to take the lead on putting up garlands, Christmas curtains and gnomes?" Considering that he was having his plate full with the actual tree decoration for now. Leaning in closer he whispered "Maybe you can get Austin to help you and some more students?" The boy seemed to be needing a little push to socialize and help out.

Austin looked up as his name was called. His bright blue eyes focused in on the Librarian, who he had seen at the beginning of the term. It wasn't a very pleasant meeting and the Ravenclaw boy secretly hope he could patch things up. Maybe prove to him that he was more than some rowdy boy. "Happy Christmas!" He tried to muster up as much happiness as he could. It was his first Christmas without his mother, and it was going to be a hard one. Hopefully this would take his mind off things.
"I wouldn't mind at all." He placed his box on a small table, within eyeshot of course, and walked over to his Head of House. Austin was one of the taller students, and even though he was in his third year, he had the hight of some fifth years. That's what he got for getting his father's genes. Maybe he could be of some use after all.

Ah, Leobald had once again beaten her to a house gathering. Either she was always late or he was always early. She preferred to think of it as the latter option. "And a wonderful Christmas to you right back, Mr. Kitridge. But... gnomes? I've always found them to be a bit dreary. We'll see what the students think." As for the bit about Austin.. Yes, that was a good idea. She scooped up an armload of garland and set off towards him.

Tiara was glad Austin had made it down for this. She hadn't seem him around much this year, but that didn't necessarily mean anything bad. After all, her course was an elective, so she didn't see every student. However, he was looking a bit down at the moment.
"Hello, Mister Moore, and a happy season to you! Care to help me string up this garland?" she asked, indicating the large pile she was holding.

Austin turned towards the professor, as she pointed to the garlands. It was a big pile, and he really didn't have much else to do. "Sure." He said with a shrug. He walked over, and grabbed one of the longer sections of garland. Pausing for a moment, the blue eyed boy had to think about where he was going to put it. There were so many options. He could run it along the boy's stairwell, or try to get it on the high ceiling. Maybe around the fireplace? He did enjoy that fireplace, and he knew many people looked at the fireplace. So maybe a nice garland would keep people's spirits up. But he was a boy, so what did he know?
"Where should they go?" He questioned at the professor.

A Christmas decorating party?
Layla had nothing against this time of year, she didn’t mind the fact that her family had now grown to be so large that Christmas Day turned into a shouting match between her nephews and the adults had a hard job having their voices heard over the top but she wasn’t sure she was in the mood for decorating the common room like a bunch of students were currently doing with their Head of House. The room was quiet, none of her friends were there and she was pretty sure that she’d be able to sneak past and up to her dorm without being noticed at all.
She hadn’t got into the festive spirit yet and she doubted she even would until Christmas Eve. Her parents were still working, there was a newborn in her brother’s family and Layla was sure that she’d spend a lot of time completely alone. She didn’t really mind that usually but sometimes she could get lonely. Here, Eden or Clara were usually about and there was never a shortage of students here and there that even if she wanted time to herself she wouldn’t be completely alone.
She didn’t know any of this lot though, apart from Kitridge but as her head of house he didn’t exactly count. She hadn’t bothered to ask for an ornament from home anyway. She glanced across from where she was standing by the entrance to the doors for their dorm and sighed audibly.

Good, he was going to help. "Excellent. I think I'll give you charge of this project." And as far as where to put it? "Everywhere, of course! The more Christmas the merrier!"
And speaking of seasonal spirit, there was someone here that clearly didn't have any. "Miss Ackerly, care to join us?"
Everywhere? That was a big challenge. The common room was huge, and there was only one of him. Hopefully there would be someone to come and help. But for now it was just Austin, and he was issued a challenge. He was going to start with the fireplace. He hooked the garland around the top of the mantel on the fire place, and let the garland fall along the sides. Hopefully that wouldn't catch fire when it was lit. Oh well.
Then he went to the guys stairs. He began wrapping the handle with the garland and started thinking of Ophelia. Would she be coming down for the festivities? He would love to see what ornament she brought. Actually, he'd love to show her his favorite ornament. He loved it for his own reasons, but he wasn't going to tell everyone his story. Just Ophie.
