The Food Trolley

Chocolate!!! That's what he needed. What with Pal stealing half of his last chocolate bar and all. Hmph. Rude that was. James walked down the train wondering where Vinnie was or even though for that matter since it would be the last time he got to see her for awhile. He looked around the trolley for what he wanted unable to really narrow it down. Such a difficult choice.

First stop after dealing with luggage: loading up on candy. Lux had Chocolate Frogs in her purse, but that didn't mean she couldn't get more. Maybe she would also grab some of the other treats.

Joining the line, she was pleased to see James though he hadn't noticed her yet as his back was to her. Smiling, Lux put her hands over his eyes. "Guess whooooo." BEAM.

James was staring at the chocolate frog almost willing it to come to him so he could eat it now while he stood in this ridiculous line. If he focused even harder maybe he could.... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO his eyes were covered!!!! Who would do such a thing?!

Maybe it was Vinnie. The thought brought a smile to his face but once he heard the person speak he knew who it was and knew it wasn't Vinnie. "Luuuuuuuuuuuuux! I'm trying to will the candy to me so we can avoid the line...it's not working."

That was her fault. Still smiling, Lux lowered her hands. Now that he could see the spell would probably work. "What candies are you trying to get? Chocolate Frogs?" They were always the most worth it. Pfft, as if anyone would try to summon Cockroach Clusters. Even their very name was gross.

Maybe they could make a game of summoning. Lux was so happy to be going home. She would be able to see her family and her boyfriend now. She missed her Bay.

Leah hummed a cheerful song as she walked aboard the Hogwarts Express. She was going home, home, home. Her trunk and owl were hopefully safe in the luggage compartment, and her Kneazle Filomena was walking beside her, brushing against her ankle gently every now and then.

Now, she needed to complete an important task.

GETTING FOOD!!

The Hufflepuff walked along the train corridor, looking for the food trolley. She had never been this desperate for sweets in her six times on the train. See, the last time she had eaten a Cauldron Cake without half of it getting stolen was a whole month ago. Finally, she reached the trolley and the snack lady, who was already surrounded by her fans. Leah resisted the urge to give the lady a hug. She peeked over a tall boy's shoulder to get a better view of the snacks. Hmm, maybe she should get something for her friends too.

James smiled and turned around as Lux moved her hands. He wrapped his arms around her and gave her a big hug before looking back at the candy. "Of course Chocolate Frogs. What kind of question is that?" She knew that would be his answer. He went back to staring at the chocolate trying to will the thing over and sighed. "Dad can do wandless magic why can't I?" And he only knew that because he had seen him do it once. He had been told to practice really hard and maybe he could one day. Maybe that was his issue he didn't practice.

He gave up and looked at Lux. "Are you excited to go home?" James was...more or less. Though he wasn't really looking forward to his father's inquisition about Vinnie when he walked through the door that was for sure. Maybe it would be a one day thing and then mum would tell him off and the rest of the summer would be good. Hopefully.

Awwwww. Smiling, Lux returned the hug. It was always nice getting hugs from friends even though she knew that some weren't big on it. At least James didn't have a problem with them! "I just wanted to make sure," she added with a laugh. Who knew if he was in the mood for some cauldron cakes or Bertie Botts.

Hmmm, wandless magic. She was no expert on that, never even trying it. "Maybe he can teach you?" she offered, not sure what else to say. If she could do it herself, she'd be more than willing to help, but as it was she had no clue. Maybe it was just a matter of concentrating extra hard???

"Of course I am excited!! I've been waiting for this day eagerly!!" And to emphasize the point, she flailed her arms. EEEEP.

Running her hand through her hair she made her way to the food trolley. Yes she was listening to the conversation infront of her because what else was there to do while waiting for food? That. Was how she realized the girl WAS Lux…what? She wasn’t paying attention.

Glancing from Lux to the guy she just stood there and griiinned at them. Yes…she recognized the guy as James…Vinnie’s boyfriend and she wasn’t all protective of Brae anymore…really, after all he had been an idiot in that whole thing…and was a total jerk most of the time. Besides. She was closer with Kace than him anyway… “Hey Lux…James right?” She asked, “congratulations on graduation,” she added just cause well…she’d been there for Paloma.

"D'ya guys know what food you are getting?" She asked kindly, "i'm...uh.........avoiding the prefect's compartment...its dull in there"

James laughed and shook his head, "You should know my tastes better than that Lux." Yup for him it was always chocolate. Unless Vinnie wanted something else...like the toffee cookies. Which he still had never tried. Oh well. He shook his head at her question and shrugged, "I wouldn't even want to ask. That would come with a lot of questions and accusing me of something I'm not doing I'm sure." He grinned at her excitement and the small flailing arm movement that she performed. "I know you have. I hear we are doing a picnic or something this summer?"

His attention was caught by a voice behind him from someone he didn't recognize. But..who apparently knew him. Of course because he was awesome. Heh. He nodded and gave the girl a smile as he held his hand out to her, "Yup that's me. Pleasure to meet you. Thanks. It'll be weird being away from here." But still wasn't sad about it. Nope. Something told him that about half way through the summer it would sink in that he probably wouldn't see a lot of the people he knew now again.

He looked back at the cart and then at the girl. "Chocolate frogs and anything else chocolaty." He raised an eyebrow at her statement and chuckled, "Imagine that prefects being dull." Teasing of course. "Well you are always welcome to hang out with the cool kids. Which we of course are," he said with a smile at Lux and put his arm around Lux's shoulders. Yup totally cool. Never mind that he was a big nerd who studied a lot. Still was cool.

SNORT. "I think I know your tastes well enough by now," Lux told James before sticking her tongue out at him. He liked the junk food like anyone with good taste. Though healthy food was nice too! She liked her fruits and vegetables too, not just candy and pizza. But...why would his father accuse him of something? Okay, now she was confused. "Why would he do that?" It made a lot more sense to be helpful and supportive. Oh well. Enough of that, because there was talk of a picnic and she loved picnics!! "We are!! Isn't it amazing??" She wanted her Lion to come!

Lux was so excited and then Puck happened!!

The redhead happily hugged her friend. It was so so good to see her. She had missed Puck. "Hey! I am getting Chocolate Frogs like always!" Pfft, as if she would choose anything else. "It's dull even with Zander and Adi?" They were never dull in her opinion! Oh well. She smiled when James put his arm around her shoulders. "Yeah, let's hang out!"

Ohkaaaay so she could tell that the two were joking…that was obviously the only reason she laughed when he mentioned prefects being boring. “Awwww well you know they’ve got that whole [i]we have to represent Hogwarts all the time[i] thing making them have to act like pretentious stick-in-the-muds all the time” she chuckled…but really, it was kind of true.

“Honestly I thought they Prefected me because they thought I’d act like a better representative of the school if I were prefected…I was absolutely certain I’d lose my badge during the year…and I did but I got it back somehow” she added with a laugh and grinned at the two. “Lux, deary, we’ve got to do something this summer! Yes! Lets. All of us…and Vinnie should come if you know she wants to, I want to apologize to her for being well not a good friend I just…was going through things” she admitted and chewed on her lip. Like the whole way it had started had reminded her of her own past relationship which just…she’d internalized someone else’s issue and that was stupid.

“OH…c’mon the cool kids don’t go into the prefects compartment till the rides nearly over…its why I’m dead certain that next year is going to be torturous for me…” she added and sighed. “Banner doesn’t like me exactly its mutual you could say? And Well I’m certain he’ll be Headboy….or well he’s a candidate?” She added with a shrug of her shoulder.
