The driver and snack lady sit waaaaaay up front in the driver's cab, but there are plenty of other compartments up here! Careful you don't sit in the Prefects' cab though. They bite.

They were finally heading there. To Hogwarts. Timmy was excited, yet sad because she hadn't been away from her mum for this long. And now she was gone from Jon too. Sigh. She had finally stopped tearing up while walking along the corridor of the large train. Buzzing conversations were coming from either side of her ears. Smiling a bit and thankful she was smallish, the blonde ducked under older kids and looked for a compartment. Maybe an empty one? It didn't really matter to her. She wanted to make new friends, especially if Ollie and her ended up in different houses. She didn't want to be alone. Not in this big school too. Peeking into one, Timmy grinned and quickly tiptoed inside and closed the door behind her.
Ah, quietness.
Sitting, her blue eyes stared out the window; taking in everything in sight. Yup, she can get used to this view.

Maybe now that she was finally on the train it all sank in. It was all real. She'd finally get to experience being away, at school, learning magic, surrounded by other kids.

They were waving at her one second, and then in the next second, all she saw was unfamiliar faces as King's Cross Station flew past her. Great. Now what? Why did Ryland have to be so much younger than her? Why couldn't he have been her twin or something? Then they'd have started Hogwarts together.
Kate kept all these thoughts to herself as she tried to fit in amongst all her new schoolmates. She'd told Hayden that she didn't want to seem too confident, but now she was having second thoughts about that statement. Everywhere her blue eyes turned, she saw someone older and taller than she was. She tried to smile at a few of them as she made her way down the corridors, pretending like she had somewhere to go.
Then, up ahead, she saw a girl who looked about her age and had blonde hair just like her, too. Kate tried to catch her as she disappeared inside a compartment, but she didn't get to her in time. Deciding that opening the door and going inside required less bravery than roaming the corridors, Kate followed the girl. The door slid opened, and Kate, giving the girl a smile said, "Mind if I come in? I don't have anybody to ride the compartment with." Lack of shyness was at least one thing Kate had going for her.

He was a bit busy being amazed and mildly terrified of things moving that shouldn't be moving. Like pictures, for instance. If they moved on a computer, that was one thing, but printed pictures moving? That was scary business.
Well, somewhere towards the front of the train, he found an empty compartment and decided to sit in there. Anyone was pretty much welcome to join him, but for the meantime, he'd be messing around with his Rubik's cube. Twist.

What he was not expecting, however, was for her to jump and squeak and make him drop his Rubik's cube on to the floor with a clatter. Seriously, person. Did you not expect someone to be sitting there? Or was it his cube? Who knew, some people might have thought the harmless thing slightly terrifying. Kinda like how he thought that magical measuring tape was terrifying. Looking up at the person properly for the first time, he shrugged one shoulder and cracked a smile.

He nodded, still obviously in pain, but gave her a tight-lipped smile. Hey, it was cool. No injury intended, right? When the pain had somewhat subsided, his smile grew substantially warmer. This girl was weird. Did he mention she was hyperventilating? She was hyperventilating. So he watched her hyperventilate with a slightly raised eyebrow, somewhat amused, until she stopped. Hey, at least he didn't laugh. That could have been rude.
"Hi Eden. Brian," he said, gesturing to himself. Great people skills, Brian. "That's okay." He only winced slightly, but his smile reappeared quickly enough. "I only figured them out pretty recently." Well, if a year ago could be counted as recently, then yes. Recently.

"I think I can get ONE side the same color--" she'd done that plenty of times. Not that that was anything to brag about, but whatever. "So--what year are you?" she asked casually, trying to make conversation.
Eden typically got along with the younger students. And she just thought they were all so cute. Adorable. INNOCENT. And funny. And also wise. A lot wiser than she felt.

She got herself comfortable as she said this, figuring it might be a while before she got up and walked around again.
Maybe she wouldn't even get up and move around at all until they reached the castle. "The corridors were kind of intimidating," she admitted. "There's not many first years it seems. Or, at least I didn't see anybody who looked to be my age. What about you? What year are you in?" If she wasn't a first year, then it was official. Kate was the one and only first year Hogwarts had this year. Exaggeration. She knew she really wasn't.

A flustered fourteen year old quickly hastened into one of the compartments trying to get by anyone without being noticed. She quickly closed the compartment door behind her & turned around to face the train windows. The flustered girl dragged her feet towards the seat on her right side & then slunk down into the seat. It was then that the brunette let out a sigh of relief. Looking down, she took a quick moment to adjust the bottom of her dress & as she was doing so it almost looked as if she were hiding her face for some reason. But suddenly when she lifted her head, you'd be able to get a look at a pair of very familiar clear blue eyes only to realize who it was.
It was Josette. But somehow different. Like she'd gone through some kind of a physical change over the summer. She hadn't even known when it had happened, but one morning she could barely even recognize herself. Not only did her face look different to her, but she had grown a little taller, her hair had grown a little longer, & there was something else that quite different that was making the fourteen year old feel very uncomfortable.
She was getting quite a lot of stares on the platform, which was why she was so quick to get on the train. Josie wasn't sure if there had been something on her face or something, but all she knew was that the many stares she had been getting were making her feel very alarmed & think of her father's motto that he wanted her to live by. "Strangers are Dangerous." For the passed three terms at Hogwarts, she had begun to question this motto of his because she really hadn't seen anyone come across as really dangerous, especially her friends, but it was at that moment on the platform when a lot of people were staring at her, that she really began to question it again.
Amongst her thoughts, she heart a soft meow come from her bag & the fourteen year old had snapped back into reality forgetting entirely about her friend! "Bastian! I-I am so-so sorry!" Quickly freeing her Siamese companion, she showed her affection by smothering him with soft kisses & a loving squeeze, which would carry on for a few moments. Once feeling like she might have been forgiven, she watched as Bastian climb up her body & attempt to perch himself on her head like he used to when he was smaller, but Josie wouldn't allow it. Instead she help him to settle on her shoulder instead, at least that way he was still up high & she wouldn't have to worry about his claws in her head, like over the summer, but she wasn't going to go into that right now.
'Hmm..I-I wonder if any of m-my friends arrived on the train yet..'
Margo had really only meet Adi on her travels through the train as well as on the platform. She thought she would make more friends, but hey, somtimes she could scare before off...what with the bouncing on her heels all the time.
So she mad her way to the front of the train still attempting to find an empty seat. She smiled and was skipping along watching all the students and how happy they were. She loved this type of atmosphere, there is what she thrived in..organized choas, her mother would call it. Thinking of her mother made Margo a little sad, she would miss her greatly over the term, but was sure she would hear very little from her father, she never heard much from him even when she was home.
Margo was so lost in her thoughts she could end up running into anyone and not even know it.
After what must of felt like centuries Abbi finally placed her bottom on a compartment seat. It wasn't that it took her long to find a free compartment, that was as easy as pie for a change. It was the whole carrying this and carrying that, that had it made it feel like forever even if it was after all a few minutes.
A happy relived sigh escaped her lips as she placed her cat beside her, plonked her legs nearby her cat and gazed at the window outside. The window was still filled with the scene of the station, with parents hustling and hugging about as they said goodbye to their children. Ugh poor children; the embarrassment for them, hence why Abbi always said goodbye before entering the station. She knew her mommy kisses were not something she wanted the world to see. NOT that she cared cause like why should she, but you know she needed to keep her swag status.

Josie was beginning to feel a tad tired as she was sitting there, partly because the train hadn't moved yet & also because she was just a tiny bit sleepy. But just then she felt a jerk in the train as she felt it begin to move, which did made her jump just a bit, but not a lot. BUT then as she was about to calm down, she heard a crash & quickly whipped her head around to see a boy was the one responsible for that loud crash. And along with that, Bastian had jumped off of her shoulder & somehow managed to hide in the small storage space above her. She gasped and quickly stood up looking for him, "B-Bastian!"
Her blue eyes towards towards the boy as he rubbed his head & she couldn't help but feel a tad concerned, since that loud crash sounded like it hurt. She spoke softly, "A-Are y-you...a-alright?" As she waited for a response she took notice of a happy crup sitting in the boy's lap. She couldn't help but smile a little bit as she watched the cute creature wag his tail. Josie remembered last term when she met her friend Simon when he was walking Professor Romanos' crup. They must have been very popular creatures, since it seemed that a lot of wizards & witches owned them. As she admired the cute creature, the boy was then apologizing to her, to which she shook her head before saying in the same soft tone as before, "I-It's o-okay...M-Must have been the t-train that m-made you fall.."
Suddenly her own pet had come back to her mind, what had happened to Sebastian?! Her eyes quickly turned her attention back to the small space above the seats once more. Standing on the seat, she quickly reached up trying to move small luggage around as she tried to find her cat. "B-Bastian? W-Where are y-you? I-It's okay..P-Please stop hiding.."
Josie was beginning to feel a tad tired as she was sitting there, partly because the train hadn't moved yet & also because she was just a tiny bit sleepy. Josie wasn't hearing him meowing, so the fear was definitely beginning to grow as she tried to find him. It wasn't like the space was huge, it was just that she wasn't quite tall enough to reach him in the back corner. She was about to just sit down & let him come down when he was ready, until she turned her head & saw the MUCH taller boy was now standing near her on the seat. Josie tensed up immediately as he stood near until she came to the realization that, OH he was helping her!
She watched as he was much more successful at locating Bastian in the corner of the space. Josie's eyes lit up eagerly when he had found him, "R-Really?" She looked at the boy when he told her that it'd probably be better if she reached for him. Josie knew that Basitan would probably only come to her, but the problem was, she couldn't reach the corner of the space. "I-I'm not too sure that I'm tall enough t-to reach all the way b-back there..." Her concerned look had returned. "W-What should w-we do?"

Josie bit her lip as he suggested calling Bastian. She shrugged a bit, "T-That could work..." At least she could use her voice to call him, not so much her hands.
Just as she was about to call his name, the boy had made a comment about letting his crup loose on her weird cat. There was a brief look of horror on her face as she stared at him, which would last for a few moments until he would start attempting to call for Sebastian.
She stood on her toes as she started calling for her Siamese once again, "B-Bastian...Come on B-Bastian...I-It's alright..." The fourteen year attempted reaching her hands up once more as she tried to gesture Bastian to come towards her. And in the midst of this she had finally caught the name of the boy beside her, who was named Noel. "I-I'm Josie-J-Josette...M-My name's Josette..."
Just then she heard Bastian meow. She gasped looking at Noel & asked eagerly, "D-Did he move? I-It sounds like h-he's moved a bit c-closer..B-Bastian?" She turned her attention back up at the storage trying to see, but was obviously not working to her advantage. While she was doing so, she unintentionally bumped into Noel's side & she gasped immediately saying, "O-Oh..I-I'm sorry..S-Sorry..."
Margo had really only meet Adi on her travels through the train as well as on the platform. She thought she would make more friends, but hey, somtimes she could scare before off...what with the bouncing on her heels all the time.
So she mad her way to the front of the train still attempting to find an empty seat. She smiled and was skipping along watching all the students and how happy they were. She loved this type of atmosphere, there is what she thrived in..organized choas, her mother would call it. Thinking of her mother made Margo a little sad, she would miss her greatly over the term, but was sure she would hear very little from her father, she never heard much from him even when she was home.
Margo was so lost in her thoughts she could end up running into anyone and not even know it.

After lugging his trunk all the way to the luggage compartment, and stressing over how he would ever find it again, and how he would know it was his, and then deciding that, actually, he didn't care, Dalton began the long, hard journey of finding a compartment. One that was, preferably, empty.

"You..." better be. Dalton bit down hard on his bottom lip before allowing the retort to come out, letting the words die at the back of his throat. Not the best way to start of with people, probably, and for Travis' sake he was trying to care. Travis and Aled - because how hard this year was going to be for him, without his little ginger friend.
He didn't want to think of how easy it could be for Al.
Dalton supposed he could let the 'didn't see you' comment slide, seeing as how this girl wasn't much smaller than him, and most of the kids here were obviously bigger. His scowl deepened a little at the mention of her mother, and his eyes darkened, but he didn't say anything. Just settled for shaking the very end of her hand with his fingers and murmuring, "Dalton."
Now Margo wanted to compartment share? ERM. Without time or energy to think up a decent response, the eleven year old shrugged. "Sure."

She had to sit with her. At least for a little of the ride--really--it wasn't a train trip without her. So she had her duffle bag strung over her shoulder and wouldn't REST until Clara Wilde was FOUND. She'd settle for a Phoenix, too, though. Oh PHE.
