When you've cracked the bronze knocker's riddle, which should be fairly easy on opening feast night, the door will swing open to reveal the entrance to the Ravenclaw Common Room. Coming inside you’ll see the floor-to-ceiling windows that span around the airy, wide, and circular room. A look through them shows a magnificent view of the school grounds and nearby mountain range. On a clear night you can see the stars and even the lights in Hogsmeade houses. The walls are covered in bronze and blue silk hangings, and the midnight blue carpet covering the floor is decorated with stars, just as the domed ceiling.
Placed on the center of the curved wall is a large fireplace with plenty of navy blue sofas and armchairs placed around it, as well as a few bookcases and tables. Today the tables have been pushed back to make room for a half circle of comfy chairs in numerous colours for the house meeting. Mr Kitridge is slumped in a comfy chair of his own facing the half circle reading a novel.
OOC: Welcome to the eagle house meeting. Come on in everyone and find yourselves a seat. The eagle comrades pairs will be announced as well as a small mentoring activity , organized by your HoH and House mod shortly. If you didn’t sign up your student character for the eagle comrades but want to be involved in the RP fun. Just PM your HoH Nordic Witchand we’ll get it sorted.
Eden had read about the meeting thingy--yep. She had paid attention for once, okay? She was quite proud and smug with herself. Mr. Kitridge was was reading--Eden smiled and waved at him, sitting on one of the blue-ish sofas near his chair. "Whatcha' reading, sir?" she asked, curiously.
She was SO glad she wasn't as shy as she used to be. Because this wouldn't have happened earlier at the start of term. She smiled all nicely and waited patiently. She was reading a book, too, but not at the MOMENT. Just in her dorm. It was a Peter Pan book--but not the original one. HMPH.
Glancing around....no one was here yet. Awkward? Yes, kind of. Eden hadn't meant to arrive THIS early, okay? She was never this early.

House Meeting. THAT sounded official, yeah? And Maddison Cooper wasn't one to miss an OFFICIAL meeting. So after changing and grabbing a small notebook and quill JUST in case she'd need to record things for future reference, the second year made her way over to where Mr. Kitridge and Eden were already seated.
"Hello Mr. Kitridge. Hi Eden." The older girl was feeling better about things now, yes? They could have another chat if she needed to. And she was going to sit next to Eden if that was okay. OR well, even if it WASN'T since she was ALREADY plopping herself down. These sofas really WERE comfortable.
Upon entering the common room, Sophie wiggled her eyebrows at Kitridge - she KNEW this was going to be where they found out their mentor/mentee assignments, and she was HOPING her bribery of being his unofficial sort of library assistant would work in her favor. She and Jun were an unstoppable force of awesome, pretty much like brother and sister after the past term, and she hoooped, hoped, hoped they could keep being awesome together.
Though... in the very back of her mind, there was a small voice that told her there was no way that could happen since there seemed to be more younger students needing a mentor. And, well, she knew she was dynamite with the younger kids and good at looking after them.
She had Tobes to thank for that.
There was no real use in weighing all the possible outcomes of the meeting, though, as what was going to happen was going to happen no matter what - so Sophie simply gave Kitridge a salute before moving toward the half circle. "Hello, sir." She hadn't talked to the older girl, Eden, much yet, but she offered her a smile anyway and helped herself to the seat on the other side of Maddie. "Hey, Coop. How's world domination coming along?" Important question.

Lincoln didn't want to sit on one of the chairs, and he'd been out with his football anyway, so he set that on the floor and perched his behind on it. He was here. House meeting. Look at him, being all housey. Was Pi here yet? He looked a little, recognised that he couldn't see her at all and went back to balancing himself on the football. Was this going to take long? Was it going to take such a chunk out of his life that he would end up sleeping straight after for a good 12 hours? Hopefully not. The sixth year was going to sit put until his lady pal got here and then he'd probably whisper something to her and forget to pay attention to what was going on around him.
Did anybody want to play football? Skip out on this thing? Go get food?
Coral hopped into the common room and surveyed the place. Not too many people here. SO. She had seat choices again. And lots of them.
Moving further into the room, she spotted Pietra's Lincoln. Where was PIETRA???? If she wasn't with him... where could she be? Without a second thought, she moved toward the boy. "Linc." she put her elbows on the back of his seat and propped her head up with them. "Where's your better half?"
SOPH. COME HELP DOUBLE TEAM HIM. WHERE'S PI.

Pietra was stressed out about this 'house meeting'. What was it for? What was the purpose? Had someone done something wrong? Had she done something wrong? She tugged anxiously at her hair which she had pulled back away from her neck so that she wouldn't tug on it in the first place, obviously that didn't work at all. She immediately scanned the room and her eyes spotted Sophie first. She hadn't really spoken to the girl since she'd given her Cat's package, but she did manage a smile in her direction. Then, thankfully, she found Linc and was happy to see that CB was near him. Good. People she knew. People she liked. Good.
Pi went over THAT way and sat in the seat that was closest to Lincoln, still tugging on her hair in an anxious!Pi sort of way.

Oh LOOK, she had a Sophie Brown. THE Sophie Brown. The one that had JUST as much gusto as Maddie and maybe a BIT more knowledge about the ways things worked. The small brunette approved of having her around, OB-viously.
"It's coming along slowly but surely. I've been securing allies and making plans, per usual." The second year GRINNED and shrugged her shoulders. "Have YOU done any planning lately?" World domination or not, Sophie seemed like a planner too.
Oh and look, there was the boy with the politician's face. He could be on a coin with a face like that, did he kNOW?
Ah, it was that house meeting for the mentee and mentor thing Kitridge had started last term. Which Jun liked because he got partnered with Sophie and it was pretty awesome. Now if only he had her again this term. Please? He didn't really mind another partner, unless it was a certain someone. Still, Sophie was an obvious choice for him. Entering the common room and sitting in a chair, the older boy looked around. Not many people were here yet. Then again not a lot of them would run off to a house meeting. They were usually boring and all.
Hopefully this one wasn't.

Meetings that involved a large amount of people really disagreed with her.
The ONLY two good things she could think about this meeting were that at least it was in a fairy large area ... and at least Eden was there ... she would not have even considered going if she hadn't been. Mandatory or not. It was too early to be dealing with crowds and noise and the things that went along with those things. Ugh.
After tying her hair up into a pony tail and grabbing a book, she left her dorm and joined everyone else. When she got there, however, she froze momentarily. So many familiar faces, but mostly all strangers. It had occurred to her several times that it would probably be less stressful if she knew these people better, but she didn't ... and currently had no plans to change that. With a resounding sigh, she smiled at Kitridge and made a beeline for Eden, sitting behind her and tapping her with her foot to get her attention just in case she hadn't already seen her.
SPOILER!!: Maddie, Jun, Clara, and everyone, really

Apparently she didn't feel like talking yet. Huh.
Eden smiled over at Maddie. Oh, she was lovely. And wise for someone her age. Eden adored her...so far. And in class, she was usually very knowledgable and whatnot. "Hi, Maddie!" she said back and grinned. "Are these usually boring?" she asked with a raaaaaise of her eyebrow. Maddie would certainly be honest, right?
She tucked some hair behind her ear and watched as more people filed in...Sophie...CB...Eddie's cousin and his girlfriend...and then Jun.
Oh Jun. Junnie boy. Eden waved at him and dind't know if they were at the hate stage or the 'I kind of like you' stage right now. It seemed their friendship changed ever week. Right now, she was okay with Jun. "Hi, Jun--" she said, squinting her eyes at him but smiling nonetheless. Hmph. Rude, him telling her hi, but that was perfectly okay, as long as he didn't IGNORE her okay?
CLARA! Eden GIGGLED at the appearance of her best friend and hugged her slightly, feeling that nudge. "Heeeyaaa--" she showed up, WHOOH. Eden had to convince her earlier--but that was all right. "I'm glad you came." Clara made her feel MUCH more comfortable with LIFE okay?
Also, "Don't be nervous, Clara...pffft, everone here is mostly nice." Mostly. LOOKIN' AT YOU, JUN.

Jasmine had hoped to be earlier to the house meeting, but things hadn't quite gone as planned. She noticed that the room had already begun to fill so she hurried inside and found an empty seat. Dropping her bag, she sat down and took a quick minute to catch her breath.
Looking around, Jasmine took note of the faces in the room. There were several of her housemates that she really hadn't gotten to know.....yet. She made a mental note that she would try to approach them all at some point. Jasmine tried hard to suppress a smile when she saw Sophie and Maddie talking to each other. Could the room stand that much combined girl power?
Leaning back in her chair, Jasmine decided to relax and people watch until the meeting began. This could be fun and informative.

Josie heard there was a meeting, & it was apparently just involving everyone from her house, thankfully though she was already in the common room, she was actually up in her dorm catching up on some reading, with a sleeping Sebastian perched on her head. But when she figured she'd better head to the main room, the third year reached up to take hold of Sebastian in her arms & make her way out of her dorm.
Walking into the Common Room, she took notice of a lot of Ravenclaws already there, she wasn't late was she? Taking a free hand & balancing Sebastian with the other, the third year gave a quick wave to everyone. "H-Hi everyone..H-Hello Mr. Kitridge.." Quickly choosing a chair, she sat down & placed Sebastian in her lap who was shockingly staying on her lap instead of trying to perch himself upon her head as usual.

Goodness, she hadn't been in Ravenclaw Tower this often even when she was a student! Well, that was a bit of an exaggeration, but this would make twice this year already. Tiara answered the knocker's riddle and stepped smartly over the threshold. Good, Leobald had already begun to gather them. She walked over to him, pulling out a piece of parchment as she went.
"Good evening, Leobald. I have our list here. Shall we get started?" It looked like most people were already gathered. Stragglers could catch up later. That would be a good lesson in the importance of punctuality.
"If I could have your attention please," she called with a raised voice. She waited for the murmuring to die down before continuing. "First and foremost, Mr. Kitridge and myself are very proud of the hard work you are putting in this year. We are currently only eleven points behind second place in the House Cup race!" Another pause for applause, cheering, and other forms of merriment enjoyed by teens.
"As you may be aware, we have called this meeting as a kickoff for our Eagle Comrade program. Mr. Kitridge and I have thought long and hard about the pairings and we are confident that everyone has someone they can learn and grow from." That being the chief goal of school activities, of course. "To announce the pairs I will hand things over to Mr. Kitridge," she said, holding out the paper for him to take.

Kyroh was there. Under one of the tables. One of Dima's influences and it was quite comfy actually. He could SEE everything too. Pairings? Buddies? So that's what this meeting was about? Wicked.
Hopefully his buddy this year would be just as cool as Nigel. Or one of his friends already! But he BET the person would be cool no matter what since y'know they WERE a Ravenclaw after all.

House meeting! They were going to get their Eagle Comrade mentor assignments, and the pairings were people they could learn and grow from! Penelope was excited about this mentor thing. She didn't have a mentor her first year at hogwarts, but she was determined to learn from and grow with her mentor for her second year. This meeting sounded way more interesting than mattress surfing. Penelope didn't know many of the older Ravenclaw students, but she was sure that whoever she was paired with would help her to learn and grow.
Oh, how we drift away from our friends. And the ones back home play remember when
Samantha was excited about the Eagle Comrade mentor assignments. She was curious as to whom she would be assigned with. She was happy with her participation during her lessons. She was trying her best and that was the important thing.

Oh. Hugs. Clara shuffled forward on her butt and hugged Eden back properly, even breifly flashing her a grin. She then began to relax slightly as the rest of the room faded away and she focused on Eden. It was easier not to get worked up when she only focused on one person and Eden was an excellent person for that. Leo folded up his newspaper and stuck it in one of his robe pockets as the students started to assemble for the meeting, finding chairs and chattering amongst themselves. As Maddie and Josette passed him to find their seats he murmured "Good evening girls." Looking down at his watch Leo gave a little small sigh of relief when the door to the common roomed and revealed the arrival of Tiara. At some point he’d have to thank Annie for assigning Tiara to help him out with the eagles.
When she stepped up beside him Leo responded."Good evening to you too Tiara! We might as well get this show on the road. The stragglers can trickle in and we’ll post the mentoring pairs on the notice board after the meeting is over for those who weren’t able to attend." As Tiara got everyone’s attention Leo accepted the piece of parchment from her and refreshed his memory of the pairs they had decided on.
Taking over from Tiara he looked out at the assembled eagles smiling broadly "You guys are a great group of eagles and I hope these pairings will encourage you all to bond even more with your peers and to get to know them better. The first eagle comrade pairing is Lincoln Darcy and Gabriel Banner." He paused. "The second is Maddie Cooper and Coral-Bay Aldrich."
He quieted to let the first pairs meet up.
Ooc: I'll announce the rest of the pairs in my next post. Stay tuned!

From his seat/football on the floor, Lincoln looked up at the voice producing his name and shrugged. T'was one of those twins they'd met in the pet place the one time. Pi's friend. CB. "I think you'll find that I'm the better half, but if you're talking about Pietra, then she'll be here in a little moment." He didn't doubt she'd be here soon enough. She turned up when ever someone needed her around, she was one of those people.
And she definitely was his better half.
Much better. Had anyone seen her eyes properly?
Beaut.
Raising an eyebrow at CB, Linc pointed out his short blonde "better half" heading their way and outstretched a hand for Pietra. Only just to squeeze it for a moment. He assumed they'd get in a little bit of trouble if he sat here holding her hand and kissing her cheek. Trouble wasn't his plan for now. "Petal, you're looking pretty today." Almost as if he hadn't seen her already today. He had. Multiple times. But they'd been apart for when he was outside with his football. Lincoln needed his man time.
His attention was caught by their "House Honcho's" and their talky talky stuff. Attention, being that he listened a little bit and strummed his fingers on the football beneath him. Lincoln missed his piano. It was fine to go to the Room of Requirement to play there, but he missed his piano and how he knew perfectly which keys were on their way out and that he needed to avoid, and he knew exactly which leg on his stool was loose and leaning slightly too far to the right would cause absolute catastrophe.
............
....................
FIRST?
First?
Had they never heard of 'first the worst, second the best'? Did they want to take that back and take away the eternal doom they had just bestowed on him? Of course not. They were perfectly fine. Who even was Gabriel Banner? Did he play football? He? She? They? Gabriel was a boys name, yes? Picture please. Personality profile. Life history. Penalty shoot out!
The sixth year didn't show any of his thoughts on his expression, and instead just pushed at his hair, shook his head and shrugged. No big deal here. S'up, whoever you are. Was he supposed to stand up and bind himself to this person now or something? This had been a bad idea. "At least you haven't got to worry about me snogging whoever they are, Pi." Hehehe. A joke. See. He was fine.
Oh. Hugs. Clara shuffled forward on her butt and hugged Eden back properly, even breifly flashing her a grin. She then began to relax slightly as the rest of the room faded away and she focused on Eden. It was easier not to get worked up when she only focused on one person and Eden was an excellent person for that. Clara was such a dear. Eden adored her so much. She was SO glad she was roomies with her because Clara helped her so much in SO many ways and UGH. Eden was grateful. She would show how grateful as much as she could--she would do anything for Clara. And there were only a few people that Eden counted as that close of friends.
SIGH.
"I'm sorry. I'm lousy at understanding what it's like--" She said softly, but she kept a grip on Clara's hand, because she wanted to be comforting towards her. Poor dear. Sure, she didn't know everything about CLara--but that was what friendship was about, right? Getting to know someone on a deeper level.
Some woman came in...and Eden siiiighed. Couldn't the meetng START already?

Stay tuned!
But Eden couldn't say much else. She squirmed again in her seat and eyed the librarian. SO the meeting would be starting--oh good. AND he was announcing pairs--okay?
So? Eden wanted to know hers NOW. She was feeling really anxious about it, too.
So Ruby's weird brother and Eddie's weird cousin were paired. Ha. That would be hilarious to see. She didn't see the two getting along--well, they MIGHT, but she doubted they'd be best of friends. THough she didn't know either too well, and what she knew of Lincoln she knew from Eddie. So his image might be a bit skewed.
Aww. Maddie and CB. They were cuties. She flashed a smile at Maddie and glanced at the other Ravenclaw. Coral-Bay seemed really nice..she knew Connor was friends with her...so...yeah...when did Eden find out her comrade? Now? yeah? NOW?

Eden would ditch if she did? This pleased Maddie and she grinned at the older girl, realizing that maybe minions didn't ALWAYS have to be younger kids. Perhaps this older brunette could be one TOO. The wheels were turning, that was for sure.
And then Kitridge was talking and Maddie shifted her attention to him, giving ALL the expectant looks. She didn't really even KNOW the first pair, except for that the second boy was the quiet one with the glasses. She'd seen his name on his notes (extensive notes, Merlin) when they sat next to each other in class. Perhaps when that Lincoln boy ran for office or whatever, the Gabe boy could be his campaign manager. It was an idea, anyway.
Her partner, though? Coral-Bay Aldrich. Maddie didn't really even KNOW her at all. What she DID know was that the older girl talked to Kyroh sometimes. She also knew that Eden was smiling at her so maybe this pairing was a good one? Or ELSE Eden knew Maddie was going to hate this pairing and it was a sympathetic smile. Was that a thing? The brunette had ALL the questions but instead of ASKING any, she stood up from her seat and walked RIGHT up to her comrade, hand extended.
"Hello, Coral-Bay." GRIN. They should have a chat after this, yeah? Maddie had a list of things she wanted to know.
Leo could feel the tension building in the room. When the first two pairs didn't move to greet each other he eyed the list again. With a brief glance to Tiara he continued "The rest of the eagle comrade pairings are in no particular order as follows;"
Kyroh Scabior / Clara Wilde / Tilly Richards
Dmitriy Toussaint / Sophie Brown
Penelope Wright / Samantha Montgomery
Paris Sykes / Jasmine Guidry
Josette Edayson / Charlie Czesanka
Tessa Jin / Bryant Morris
Abby Valentine / Eden McGee
Thornton Baines / Hayley Diggory / Jun Kim
Glancing over at his co partner Leo said "Tiara, would you be so kind and reveal the little event we've got planned for the newly announced mentoring pairs?" Looking out over the assembled students he hoped they'd get as excited and anticipant as Leo felt.
