On the right hand side of the kitchen corridor is a large stack of barrels, which may seem unimportant to most students but which are invaluable to the badgers of Hufflepuff. The entrance to the Hufflepuff Common Room is located just behind these barrels.
In order to reveal the entrance, one must tap the barrel two from the bottom, in the middle of the second row, in the rhythm of 'Helga Hufflepuff.' This will make the barrel's lid swing open, exposing a crawl-way that will lead to the common room. However, if either the rhythm of tapping is wrong or the wrong lid is tapped, the intruder will be doused in vinegar and barred access.
The entrance to the Hufflepuff common room is the only entrance which is repels intruders AND bars access to those who don't belong. If you are waiting on a friend from Hufflepuff, you can lean against one of these barrels and wait for them to appear. Don't try to sneak in, though; no one from another House has been in the Badger's common room in over 1,000 years!
Where the HECK was she? She was trying to find the KITCHENS--was she close? She thought so--the kitchens were below the ground floor, right? She grumbled to herself--Hogwarts should make a FLIPPIN' map for the newbs to use because the castle was just TOO big, okay?
She leaned against the..questionable looking barrels and siiiiiighed. Kitchen. Had to be right under her nose, right? She glanced down the corridor--up AND down--and thought maybe she'd give up--BUT NO. She wanted to bake something for Clara--IT HAD TO BE DONE OKAY. She had missed the girl's birthday--she felt AWFUL.
Riiiiiight.
The barrels BETTER NOT TUMBLE DOWN. BETTER now. Hehe. She did sigh, though, and scratch her head. What to do NOW?

Dorothy stared at the barrels, tugging at one of her pigtails. So was a good witch in a bubble gonna pop out of one of those or what?

IF the people in this side of the rainbow even had any manners. She eyed the barrels one more. So there was a password, eh? Interesting, veeeery interesting. "You wouldn't happen to know what's behind these barrels, would you? The yellow brick road, perhaps?" She batted her eyelashes and twirled a finger around one of her pigtails. This girl didn't want to keep the Wizard's gifts for herself riiiight? 'Cause that'd just be mean. Definitely bad witch behavior. "You're not a bad witch, are you?" Her search for Home had no time for bad witches.

It was Adi's birthday and AJ woke up super early to make him a special surprise. She was no Betty Crocker, but she spent hours in the kitchen making him a personalized birthday cake. Now that it was finally finished, she walked the short distance to where she knew his common room to be.
AJ was wearing an orange t-shirt because she knew it was his favorite color, and her hair was actually down and perfectly straight. No make up was on her face, that was too much. She was balancing his chocolate frog cake in her arms just right. Now all she had to do was wait for the boyfriend to make an appearance. It should be any minute now.

Yaaaaaawn. Adi had waken up earlier than usual and had spent some minutes tossing and turning in his bed as he tried to sneak in a quick snooze but to no avail. Finally, he decided a walk around the Lake would be a good way to start his day off. Hey, it was his birthday after all.
Adi stepped out of the crawl way and into the corridor. He was not expecting to see AJ in a bright orange shirt. Her hair all straight...and she was wearing no makeup... The last few days it seemed Adi couldn't take his eyes off her and today was no different. It even took him a moment for him to realise what she was holding. A grin slowly spread across his face.
"Hi. This is a surprise.'' The Hufflepuff, no longer sleepy, leaned over to kiss his girlfriend on the cheek. "Are we celebrating something?'' Hehe.
Finally Adi emerged from his common room, and the smile that was slowly spreading across his face only made her grin harder. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY," she exclaimed. The kiss on the cheek was a nice touch, and AJ couldn't wipe the goofy grin off of her face.
"I was hoping to surprise you." It was hard to keep it a secret. AJ wanted so bad to tell him that she planned on baking him a cake, but didn't want to ruin it. The look on his face made her glad that she didn't.
We they celebrating something? He was hot and funny. "You of course." She held out the cake for him to take. "I made it all by myself. It's chocolate cake with chocolate chips mixed in with fudge frosting. Lots of chocolate frogs on the top too." Nothing but the best for her man. Mmmhmm.

AJ just laughed. "You're getting old," she joked. Couldn't give him a free pass just because it was his special day. One of the reasons? So that must mean that there were several reasons. Not that it surprised her at all. The pair were made for each other. I AM pretty awesome," she said with a playful smirk.
"The batter tasted awesome." Oh yeah, she licked the bowls and spoons clean. "Here. I had this all planned out." AJ reached into her bag and pulled out a quilt for them to sit on, and laid it out all nice and neat. Then she pulled out plates, knives, forks, and birthday candles. "I forgot napkins so you will just have to lick your fingers clean." That's what AJ planned on doing. Oh, and drinks. The lion pulled out milk and two glasses. She poured them both a glass and sat down.
"C'mon." She patted the spot next to hr on the quilt. The only thing that could be better is if they were out at their bridge, but it was way too cold for that. Any time spent with Adi was good. It didn't matter their location.

"I'm not complaining." She had her an older, hot, and sometimes mature man. She laughed when he stuck his tongue out. "There's my man." AJ hoped that he always kept his silly side no matter how old he got. "Whatever you say, birthday boy." They had been down that road many times.

"Yeah. The baking took the longest, but it wasn't so bad." And she got to eat frosting and chocolate frogs while she waited so that was a plus. "Thanks. I'm so glad you like it." She was amazing him? Aw, shucks! Her face was starting to hurt from all of the hardcore smiling that she was doing.
HAHA! "Of course I'm lighting them with magic, I'm a witch." She knew that he was referring to her mediocre spellwork, but she had been practicing and she was pretty sure this was going to be a success. "Umm... maybe you stand guard. Be ready with some water." Adi's assistance wasn't needed after all. "It's only because I learned from the best." AKA Adi.
AJ watched as Adi blew out all of the candles. Once the fire was gone she reached over and smashed his face into the cake, and started laughing. It was the traditional birthday cake smash. Awww... but what was that he said? "You're so sweet." How did she get so lucky with Adi? "I make all of your dreams come true?" she asked playfully.
AJ knew that she was sitting where anybody could see them, even a professor, but she couldn't resist. She leaned over and kissed him lightly on the lips. Once she pulled back, she licked her own lips. "Mmm..." the cake is good, and the kiss wasn't bad either.

"Keeping secrets from me, are you?" she teased right back. AJ was pretty sure that she knew almost everything about her boyfriend. There sure was a whole lot of happy to go around. "We do. That's why we work so well together." They were both happy people who enjoyed life.
"Yeah. The baking took the longest, but it wasn't so bad." And she got to eat frosting and chocolate frogs while she waited so that was a plus. "Thanks. I'm so glad you like it." She was amazing him? Aw, shucks! Her face was starting to hurt from all of the hardcore smiling that she was doing.
HAHA! "Of course I'm lighting them with magic, I'm a witch." She knew that he was referring to her mediocre spellwork, but she had been practicing and she was pretty sure this was going to be a success. "Umm... maybe you stand guard. Be ready with some water." Adi's assistance wasn't needed after all. "It's only because I learned from the best." AKA Adi.
AJ watched as Adi blew out all of the candles. Once the fire was gone she reached over and smashed his face into the cake, and started laughing. It was the traditional birthday cake smash. Awww... but what was that he said? "You're so sweet." How did she get so lucky with Adi? "I make all of your dreams come true?" she asked playfully.
AJ knew that she was sitting where anybody could see them, even a professor, but she couldn't resist. She leaned over and kissed him lightly on the lips. Once she pulled back, she licked her own lips. "Mmm..." the cake is good, and the kiss wasn't bad either.

Okay...he was going to stop eating now. Adi looked at AJ and smiled. "Thanks for this.'' He leaned towards her then gave her a kiss on her cheek. He reallllly did appreciate it; the boy know AJ worked hard on the cake.
"Let me help you get this all packed up.'' Adi stacked the plates and forks together then stood up to help with the blanket.
