The driver and snack lady sit waaaaaay up front in the driver's cab, but there are plenty of other compartments up here! Careful you don't sit in the Prefects' cab though. They bite.
Jun strutted along the corridors because why not? He was Head Boy and it was his final term. Either way, the seventh year was oddly in a strange mood. Also because no one was really on the train yet. But no one really ran towards the front of the train anyway. Everyone stayed in the back or middle. Supposedly, the prefect compartment was somewhere in the front so it was best to stay here. With Charmander waddling next to him as the boy started dancing and singing, Jun found am empty compartment. Duh. No one was around, had already dropped off his luggage behind, the boy walked in to the compartment and flopped onto the empty seat.
'Course Charmander jumped on his stomach and cuddled there. Nope, not starting prefect duties just yet.

Adi was not heading to the Prefect Compartment. At least now for now. He needed to find his friends. Since he had no luck locating Benny, AJ, Angel or Ian at the Platform, he figured they might head for a compartment in the Front cars like they did for the ride back home last term. So, with Gus on his left shoulder, the Fourth year took off, scanning compartments for his friends.
He had already changed into his Hogwarts robes, the shiny new Prefect badge pinned on and gleaming. His friends would be in for a surprise. It was a secret he had managed to keep to himself. Hehe.
Strategically positioning herself at the frontmost compartment of the train right behind the prefects' compartment so she could hopefully figure out who was filling all those empty spots of the graduated, Sophie made herself comfortable and spread out on one seat, facing the corridor with her back against the window so she could keep an eye on things. She hadn't seen Tobes yet, but she figured they would instinctively gravitate toward one another at some point. She wasn't too concerned about seeing him - they had a whole term to spend together and she wouldn't have been surprised if he'd already gotten roped into sitting with a group of first years who had flocked to him.
He had that endearing quality about him, didn't he?
Pulling a chocolate cauldron from her bag, she opened the package and began to devour it, finding delight in watching various familiar and unfamiliar faces pass in the corridor. No one who looked particularly prefecty, though.

The platform had been crazy.
Crazier then he believed it had been the past three years. Or it was just his imagination. Anyway, Benny had managed to finally make it across the platform after passing through the barrier, and into the train itself. His presence hidden amongst the throng of students and parents alike. Was it even possible for the corridor to sound quieter than outside, even by a little?
Depositing his trunk and broom in the luggage compartment, the fourth year tried to find a balance as he walked to find a seat. The boy holding Conrad's cage in one hand and a flower pot in the other. He had almost lost it a few times as he weaved along the corridor in search of room, heaving a sigh of relief when he at least spotted the familiar form of his best friend, toad and all.
"Hey," he greeted with a smile. "Any luck finding anything?"

Connor Walked though the corridor and spotted his best friend up ahead, big mister Head Boy on the way. He followed after him and pulled his things into the corridor, Smaug riding on the trunk. Once in the room he jumped off the trunk and crawled onto Jun's chest with Charmander, he missed the ferret.
"Hey, Jun Snow. Finally reading that book?" He asked and after he stored his stuff he took a seat across the compartment. "Excited?" Connor didn't have too much to say about things, he just broke up with Addi, so he was just feeling kinda weird, but nothing time with his best mate couldn't fix.

No Benny, no AJ, no anyone so far in the compartments he had checked. Most of them were empty still and Adi had little doubt he and his friends would have any trouble finding one for themselves. Right now he was thinking of just making himself at home in one of them and let the others find him. Yep. Sounded like a plan.
Adi already had his left hand on the door of one of the compartments when he heard that all too familiar voice. "Benny!'' Adi said, turning around instantly. Oh goody! He had found his bestie. The moment he turned, Gus started croaking away. It didn't take long for him to see the reason why. Benny had brought along Conrad the Owl. Owls and toads could become good friends too, you know. Quite like their owners, who were very much opposites.
That's when the Puffer noticed the potted plant. "Is that for me?'' he asked half joking but at the same time half serious. Had Benny heard he had been made Prefect and gotten him the plant? Hmmm. Anyway... "What's up? I've got us a compartment here.'' Adi slid the door open and led the way in.

Jun was probably almost done with the current chapter he was on, when the compartment door opened and something jumped on him. More like someone's certain little fairy did. Charmander stood on his hind legs and wailed his tail. Sniffing at Smaug, the ferret wrapped himself about the feline and purred. Someone must've been happy right now. "I feel like a petting zoo,"
"I'm like half way through. With the trips, practices, and revaluations this summer, haven't gotten much time to finish it by now," Which he still had to tell Connor about the trainee revaluations. So far, Jun had only told Vinnie when she came over the other day. "Actually, I am. I wonder what it's like to be Head Boy and I have something to give you," Picking up the pets and setting them down on the seat, Jun reached for his bag and rummaged through it. "So what's new?"

Benny!
There was one happy Hufflepuff, obviously happy to see him. Likely as much as Benny was to see him. The nickname didn't even make him flinch, having been gradually growing on him over time. At least it wasn't too cutesy like the ones Angel had come up for him last term.
Gus too was apparently happy to see him, or at least his feathering companion, with his croaks. Conrad in turn responded with a hoot or to acknowledge his own friend. He simply chuckled before Adi drew his attention back to his other hand and the plant that resided in his grasp. "Um...actually no. Its...um...for Angel." Benny was fight so hard not to be completely nervous and awkward about the whole thing.
Swallowing, he focused on the last question and statement addressed his way. "Nothing really, just ready for a new term," he replied before glancing at the now open and visibly empty compartment his friend had claimed. "Oh good," Benny added following him inside, setting Conrad down at least so he could settle.

Adi was having a flashback. It was directly two years ago he and Gus had met Benny and Conrad, was it not? Who knew that shy, quiet kid would turn out to be the coolest and most awesome friend ever?
Gus continued his croaks as Conrad hooted in greeting. "You think they understand each other?'' Adi asked Benny. Truth be told, Adi thought they did. What was that Benny was saying? For Angel? The Hufflepuff's eyes widened slightly in surprise. Benny was bringing a gift to Angel? "Things seem to be getting serious between you two, then?'' he asked, hoping to make the question sound light and not let the old fear that had haunted him last term be heard. The old fear that Angel would take his bestie away.
"Oh, yeah! Me too! As long as we don't freeze again, I'm ready for anything this term.'' Hehe. What an enthusiastic Puffer he was. Now in the compartment, Adi settled on a seat. But not before setting Gus down beside Conrad's cage. Let the old friends catch up.

Smaug snuggled into Charmander, He like Connor was very happy to see his friend. The Gryffindor laughed as well. "You look like one too." He joked a bit and put his feet up. Sitting up now because he was curious about what Jun had for him.
"Yeah? Well i'm glad you're reading it, now you'll actually get my jokes." He said and then remembered the Revaluations. "The dance revaluations, how did those go?" He had to know, he wanted to be supportive of Jun's career if he were to dance, they were best friends. "I bet it'll be awesome and you'll be good at it." He knew Jun wasn't a prefect before but he was still happy about this. "Yeah? That's nice of you." New...ughh..There was only one nice thing for him. "Yeah, Addi and i broke it off, we didn't wanna do long distance."

After thanking Z's family profusely and putting away her luggage, Marigold was here. On the Hogwarts express. FINALLY. And she felt good about the oncoming year - prefect duties and friends coming and hopefully girl talks with Ruby and Z would totally make up for the fact that TDK were no longer at Hogwarts. Sigh. But the main thing was that Marigold had an awkward way to get to the train, and a friend had rescued her. She would be forever in Z's debt. (Except hopefully not. She didn't know what to do with that situation).
She looked into a couple compartments, then passed over them as she didn't recognize any of the people in them. She caught a quick look of herself in a reflection in a compartment door, and was shocked. She didn't look awkward. This was new.

There was no doubt that he did. His house even looked like a zoo with three pets. Jun's parents now had to deal with a crup, non-magical dog, and a newborn. Tough. No one told them the have a kid who loved animals a lot. Who has thought about majoring that in uni if the program doesn't work out for him. See? Fall backs.
"Yeah, now if I can remember what goes on in the book. 'Every flight begins with a fall'," Ha. Take that, baby werewolf! A grin spread across the boy's face. "Really, really good. I get to stay another year but next revaluation is going to be tougher," Ugh, all the pressure was on since it was the year boys were going to be picked for a new debut group. Maybe Jun wasn't too ready for that yet. "Yeah, because the half Asian and Norwegian boy who dances, sings, skateboards down the stairs and makes food for his friends is a good choice for Head Boy. I personally think Truebridge and Kitrdge have finally lost their minds," Especially Truebridge, but let's not tell her that. Jun lifted his head up a bit and nodded. From what he could see and was told, it wasn't really going anywhere in the first place. "Sorry to hear that, mate. But maybe for the best?" Yup, he was not good at these things.
Finally pulling out Connor's gift, Jun tossed it at him. "Got you a mirror so you can keep admiring your big nose in it," he grinned.

Connor laughed. "Ohh you have jokes now?" He shook his head a little. So it all went good for him? Good. "You'll do great, i just need to make sure you practice." Mmmhmm he had to keep Jun practicing his stuff, there would be lots of distractions, they had to keep on track, but you know it was also their last year together here. "You make it sound like you're tarzan or something, but who knows maybe all that snow went to their heads..and they thought of you, Jun Snow" Connor wiggled his eyebrows, though the thought of it snowing in a few months was much more than he thought he could handle. "You're probably right, but i really liked her. She and I are still gonna be friends though."
He opened the Mirror and then looked into it, He shook his head a little bit. "Rigggggght, thanks."

Pulling a chocolate cauldron from her bag, she opened the package and began to devour it, finding delight in watching various familiar and unfamiliar faces pass in the corridor. No one who looked particularly prefecty, though.
Stepping onto the train with a heavy sigh, Layla headed towards the front. On muggle trains the front was always the emptiest and she thought she could be by herself there to quietly dwell within her own thoughts and forget about the fact she was going somewhere that right at this second she wasn't sure she wanted to go. The goodbye to her family had been tough. Layla didn't typically get emotional, nor was she that close to her family but she had to admit she had shed a tear or two as she left them on the platform. Perhaps because she wasn't comfortable with where she was heading or because despite not being completely attached to her parents, she hadn't gone anywhere for a long time without them yet. The fifteen year old felt a little foolish as she wiped away the tear and composed herself.
With her eyes fixated on the doors of the compartments, the fifth year walked through the train without even bothering to stop, looking through until she found one that was completely empty. It was just her luck that today every carriage was home to at least one poor soul who either looked elated or deflated at the thought of going to school.
Choosing one that only had one person in, she pushed open the door and peered inside. Girl looked about her age, maybe a year or so younger. The sight of chocolate however made her feel a little sick. She eyed the chocolate shaped confectionery and then glanced back at the girl. "Every compartment has someone in it.." she began stepping into the compartment to let the door rest against her side. "Mind if I sit in here?" She offered a small smile although it was hard to guess how genuine it actually was.

Leah had left her compartment in search of another near the front, holding her kneazle carrier that contained Filomena. She was not only curious about who the new Hufflepuff prefects were, but was also hungry. Not to mention that she felt a little er, unsafe at the back cars. As she walked back and forth the front few compartments however, she noticed that none of them were actually empty. Urgh, why did she leave her cozy seat again?
Just then a door nearby was pushed open and through it Leah saw her Ravenclaw friend Sophie there. With a chocolate cauldron. Yum. There was also another girl who looked slightly older at the door asking if she could enter. Walking over to the door too, she grinned at the two of them and said, "Hi guys, do you mind if I join you two?" They seemed friendly enough.. at the moment.

After packing his and Ruby's luggage away, Gabriel had chosen NOT to wait on his sister. Yes, this was new territory and he was an anxious mess but Gabe wasn't chancing another run in with the blond-headed girl; whatever her name was...And if she was a teaser of the other friends Ruby had made, he wanted to be well out of the way before they descended. Whoever they happened to be.
Pulling his hood up around his face, Gabriel lurked...looking for an empty compartment. Any one would do...as long as he could pull the shade and hide in it. Maybe he'd find Ceo, Jere, or Hugh....They'd be stronger in numbers, right? That could possibly stave off the girls...that seemed to creep up on him out of nowhere. Gabe's hands trembled with nervousness...as he tried to blend in. NOT something that would be labeled a strong suit. In fact, as he was walking, he stumbled into a girl that had been staring at a compartment door, failing to stop and apologize. It was crowded...and that was bound to happen....He didn't need to panic about it. He hadn't...actually touched her...
Nope...He just kept walking....

Ben wasn't aware of what was going through his bestie's head. How could he? Instead he was simply allowing the freedom of an open compartment relax him from the hustle and bustle everywhere else. It was soooo much better then having to scourge for just an empty seat like he had had to his first year. "They could," he answered with a shrug as he finally sat down. To be honest creature classes didn't delve much into the animals most might deem mundane, like owls and toads.
The Gryffindor glanced out the window briefly to check on the happenings still outside before turning back around only to spot the eyes of Adi. Uh oh. "Something like that," Benny remarked as he set the flowers down someplace they were safe yet out of the way. He and Angel hadn't really had much time together after the crazy day to deal with whatever was going on. Yet still, the fourth year had spotted the snapdragons and thought of the girl, deciding in the end to purchase them for her.
If only as a friendly gesture if it turned that way.
"Freeze or age...." he corrected. Both of the last two terms had had their own disastrous complication and Benny surely didn't want either of them to return. Fourteen he was and fourteen was all he wanted to be during the course of the school year.

"I think they do,'' Adi said but now he was sort of distracted. Something like that? SOMETHING LIKE THAT?! "Breathe, Adi. Just breathe,'' he thought to himself fighting the urge to panic. He really thought he was over this whole Angel taking Benny away thing. Apparently not. Sigh.
The Hufflepuff was determined not to let any panic show. Or worse, any anger or fear. "So, that wasn't a straight answer, Benny,'' he continued casually. Yesh, he demanded a yes or no answer and when he got that, the would be more questions to follow. Hehe.
Ah yush. The aging. Adi had totally forgotten about that. Not something someone who had broken their leg easily would. But this was Adi we're talking about here. Always forgetting the bad stuff. "Wonder if anything will happen this term.'' There seemed to be a pattern of weird stuff happening at the school every time.

This ALSO meant that she had NO right to be mopey about the fact that her mum had decided at the LAST minute she couldn't drop the second year at the station, opting to force Leo into doing it instead. Adults DIDN'T sulk about things like this and so Maddie wasn't going to sulk EITHER. She was just going to SIT...by HERSELF...with a somewhat sullen look but JUST for a few minutes, okay?
Feelings were dumb.
Spotting an empty compartment, the Ravenclaw slipped inside and let her backpack fall to the floor. A disgruntled MEOW could be heard from inside as Zeus peeked his head out, clearly unamused with his owner. "My bad, Z."

Her bad indeed.
Rumor had it there was a trolley chock full of FOOD around here somewhere. It wasn't like Dot could afford to buy snacks with her minimal pocket change, but if she did the scouting, she could probably split the cost with Dima. Or maybe someone would drop some knuts. Funny how often people didn't care about their knuts, when Dot cared very much about them.
She hadn't found the cart yet, but she had found a Maddie. Future roommate. Friend of Dot's friends. And Dot had promised her Oggie that she'd make GIRL friends, so... here goes.
"You cut your hair. It's... all gone." Dot stopped short of touching Maddie, since she hated it when people touched her hair without permission. "I like it." Did it matter if she liked it?
"Veeeeeeery little of them. Still need to read beyond the wall," Nod nod. Jun snorted. He needed to make sure he'd practice? "You're going to make sure I practice? Hm, I think you should. They're picking boys for a new group next year. Would like to be one of them," Or else would be uni for him. Jun already had brouchuers and all that stuff in his trunk. Well, he had them since last year when he started freaking out about everything. He'll have to give it another look back in his dorm. "Might as well be Tarzan by the way I'm always running up and down the stairs!" Jun made a face. "Jon Snow can be irritating at time, like what is he even doing?" He whispered the last part. Talk about a confusing character. He nodded. "Yeah, I know. Least being friends is a good thing," Even though Jun personally thought there was no communication in that relationship.
He snorted again. "Go on, say my name into it. You can't possibly not know what this is?"

Dot. Dima's Dot. She was interrupting Maddie's sulking quiet time, did she KNOW? Not that the brunette was PARTICULARLY bothered. Not really. She needed to get to know this girl, yes? For reasons. F-word reasons. She was being considered.
"That's what happens when you cut it," She provided helpfully. The twelve year old tilted her head and watched the red head curiously, the corners of her mouth curving upwards slightly. "I like it too. It just got in the way before." Also thanks. She didn't SAY it but she was thinking it. Could Dot read minds?

"You can sit if you want."
Dot did sit, folding her hands politely in her lap and tilting her head slightly to look at Maddie's haircut. The reason she liked it especially was because it made her look a lot less like Dot and a lot more like someone else entirely. She didn't look like the new and improved version of Dot. The one who had replaced her.
"I cut mine short once, but it's curly when it's short." She made a giant puffball shape around her face to let Maddie know that it had not worked out. She'd looked like a ginger dandelion, ready to be blown away. But hair getting in the way, that was a common girl problem. Maybe they should commiserate about it? Swap stories about all the times they'd accidentally eaten a face full of hair?
It seemed like a lot of words to give away this early in their acquaintanceship. "Your bag is meowing."

Sophie knew her place in the world this term. It was all about strengthening friendships and forming new ones to fill the Mo and Cat-sized holes in her heart. So when she saw familiar faces pass by in the corridor, she smiled at any who caught her eye and made a mental note of who she should work at befriending further this term. Tobes was her one true best friend to rule them all, along with CB, but it didn't hurt to have more friends, did it?
So she was unbothered when an unfamiliar face stopped outside her compartment - Soph smiled at the girl welcomingly, and though it was just a little forced, the girl entered. Successs. "S'all good. Y'picked a good one to stop at." She finished off her last bite of her chocolate cauldron and tucked the wrapper away in her bag, straightening up a little on the seat and gesturing to the one across from her for the girl to sit down. Sophie tried especially hard to seem very calm and cool, rather than far-too excited for the opportunity to make a new friend. She was absolutely cool. The coolest of the cool.
"Y'hungry at all? My bag's stocked with a pretty good assortment from Sugarplums," she lifted the bag toward the girl a little, offering it if she wanted to pick something out. Its contents were supposed to last her the whole first half of the term till the winter holiday, but she didn't mind sharing with this new potential friend.
And an existing friend.
"Leahhhh," she grinned at the Hufflepuff in the doorway, taking her legs off the bench to make more room for the soon-to-be party forming in the compartment. "Come on in. Have a snack. Enjoy the ride." Et cetera, et cetera. "This is Leah," she told the other girl, then... realized she didn't even know the girl's name, nor did the girl know hers. Oh. "And m'Sophie." And she was...?
