The Irie Room

Professor Bellaire has once again brought the wonders of the tropics to the heart of Scotland itself. Older students will remember the warmth, sand and of course the tropical fauna of the replica of Sophia's home land. There is a hut that automatically restocks itself with coconut water as well as regular water.

Hammocks are present along the beach under low hanging coconut tree but do not try to cross the barrier that keeps students from going into the actual 'sea' itself (you will be struck by a stinging hex).

Further additions to the Irie room includes three mini outdoor libraries, but don't let their looks fool you, they are adequately stacked.

The sections include:
Reference
History
Fiction
The library sections are located off the sand on what appears to be the edge of a lush and cool tropical forest. The difference in temperature is immediate once you leave the sands of the beach.

Professor Bellaire wishes to emphasize that this is room is not to be abused and certain decorum is expected. Failure to adhere to these rules will result in certain punishment and a permanent ban from the room.

Please note that while the library is fully functional certain books can only be accessed by using the official Hogwarts library.

September 17th was fast approaching which meant that Sophia's birthday was once again upon them. Usually she would take the day and go home to have a birthday breakfast as well as a breakfast dinner with her husband and Ariana, but seeing as Ariana was now at Durmstrang and James was away on business, she would be celebrating here, at Hogwarts.

Naturally her best-friend would have to be apart of that so she met up with Leo one evening, got him dressed..(because bossing Leo around, getting him clothes and doing his hair, was what she did best), then it was off to the Irie Room. She really did miss this place when she was away from school.

"So I'm thinking this is going to be a very small event..just a feeeew people...like five and maybe my two top students." She informed as she walked into the room in front of Leo.

Leo tugged at the cuff of his shirt that was sitting too close to his neck for comfort. Unbuttoning the top button of the shirt he gave an inaudible sigh of relief as he entered the Irie Room after Sophia. "A small event sounds nice. Big events tend to get very loud very fast but its your birthday so we do what you want." He responded with a smile. "Are any other staffers coming or just us and 7 or so students?"

Gazing around he said "It feels peaceful here. Do you change the decor and furniture of the room every year or is it always a tropical feel to it?" If it was then Leo wouldn't mind spending more time in the room.

"Maybe I'll just let you choose a student or two of your own. Sounds good?" That way, she'd have less pressure to find suitable students. What did Leo mean by decor?

Sophia looked around at the sand and faux sea. Everything was transfigured to mirror a tropical beach. The only structures there were the tiki huts and beach chairs and of course the little table she had set up for their meeting this evening.

"It's pretty much always like this..except when it rains or storms."

"I know you don't." Leo commented. "It's Tanner now. Tiara is helping me out with the eagles this term now that Abraham has become deputy headmaster." He commented. It'd work perfectly Leo was certain considering that Tiara had been an eagle herself back in her school days.

Raising a brow Leo stopped to look at his best friend. "Are you sure? You want me to invite two students to your birthday party? I don’t know which student's you like and don't like. You should choose. I don't want to potentially mess things up." It felt like it could turn ugly if he ended up choosing wrong. He didn’t want that on his shoulders.

"So is there anything we need to do or organize before the party starts?" Leo asked hoping to change the subject from him choosing who to invite and not.

"Do you allow students to come into this room during term?" It seemed from Leo’s point of view a pretty cool room to spend long periods of time in.

Sophia sighed. Maybe Leo was right, if he picked the wrong student, she would probably end up throwing them out of her party. So yes, she would have to take care of that.

"Organize? No. Marley will be here to take care of things. All you need to do is show up and be yourself." She motioned towards the little table as she moved to get seated herself. "I have other matters I want to discuss with you as well."

He couldn’t help but let out a small sigh of relief. Sophia had finally understood that choosing who to invite couldn’t be placed on him. The last thing Leo would want was to cause trouble.

Following Sophia over to the little table Leo seated himself opposite her. "Oh? Lovely, just showing up I can manage," And buying her a birthday gift of course. Raising a brow he asked "What matters?" Hopefully it wasn’t something about his clothes or hair style again.

Right, so Sophia let some silence fall between them while she decided if she wanted to approach the topic with tact and grace or if she should just out right say it. She figured she would out right say it.

"Professor Morgan has been asking a lot of questions about you." She looked at him intently."Now Leo, I don't think she's playing with a full deck of cards...."

Ravenclaw were in good hands. Leo was confident in that belief even if the after feast party had had its ups and downs. Peeves made messes. But his eagles had helped him cleaned the mess up and they had actually mingled and gotten to know each other.

As the silence dragged out between them Leo wondered what Sophia had on her mind. When she did speak however he was just a little surprised that the 'matter' involved Cassie.

Watering his lips Leo asked calmly. "What has given you that impression of Cassie? Asking questions implies interest, a genuine interest in me, isn't that good?" At least it was too him. He didn’t want to remain a bachelor forever.

The disapproving Sophia shot him spoke volumes. She didn’t like Cassie and didn’t think he should get to know her better. That much was clear. Clenching and unclenching his hands in his lap Leo took a long breath before he asked trying his best to not show his growing irritation. "If I don't try to get to know the women I encounter within the work place and outside it then how do you propose I find someone I could build a life with? I don't want to stay a bachelor all my life."

Leo hoped that the women he sometime in the distant future wanted to spend his life with would be someone Sophia could get along with.

You're just not looking in the right places." She'd think he'd learn from the last time he tried to mess with Hogwarts professors. Not good. Taking the drink Sophia kept pushing closer Leo took a long sip to calm his feelings down and to have something to occupy his hands with. He knew that Sophia meant well. But sometimes he just didn’t agree with her. Taking more sips he let his best friend explain her point of view. Letting out a frustrated sigh when she was done he asked "And what exactly are the right places to look in?" Maybe he was self-pitying himself but at this moment without any students around it felt okay and right.

"Think you'll ever like any of the women I'm interested in?" It seemed highly unlikely. But one could dream.
