Badger Party!

After the very exciting last Quidditch Match of the term, Professor Hadley had left the pitch immediately following the third snitch capture to go transform the common room for celebration.

She wasn't even sure they would win the Quidditch Cup this term; Slytherin had fought hard this term and were just as deserving of it. But somehow the badgers had snatched the Cup ... again. So, being the immensely proud Mama!badger that she was, she needed to show appreciation for their crowning achievements.

She had cupcakes arranged in the shape of a badger's head (different coloured frosting in accordance with the badger colours). There were streamers and faux quidditch balls hovering from the ceiling. In addition to the badger!faced shaped cupcakes, there were all sorts of other candies and treats, along with pitchers of pumpkin juice.

Not to mention a large banner hanging from the ceiling when you first enter:

Sander had entered the common room expecting the now familiar comfy room but instead the common room had been decked up to the nines. They were having a party? Now that wasn't something he was expecting but Sander was all for it.

There was lots to celebrate...and be sad about. Sander had seen his name mentioned on the farewell banner.

Farewell!!

Sander was going to forget the latter for now. Their house had won both the Quidditch and Gobstones trophies and the House Cup was within their grasp too.

Celebrate good times...Come on!!

EEEP! Party in the Common Room!

Lux was so excited, and even the cupcakes were shaped like Badger heads. Giggle. Hadley sure had gone all out for them in light of the Quidditch Cup victory. Their Head of House had to be really proud of her Badgers.

And Lux was proud of her Housemates!

seeing Sander, she gave him a hug. She was really going to miss him the most of anyone Graduating. He was one of her best friends.

NOPE.

That was the first word that came to Olly's mind upon entering the Common Room. SERIOUSLY? All she wanted was to go upstairs to her dorm and curl up in bed. What was it with people celebrating things? Yes it was all awesome they'd won and everything but why did they have to engage with others because of it?

WHY? What had they done to deserve THIS?

Olly sighed and directed a half-hearted glare at the people already present. She was going to walk over to the stairs leading up to the dorms as quickly as possible. Which wasn't very quickly seeing as her whole body didn't really like sitting on a broom for that long and had thus begun saying nope too. To anything that involved moving muscles. So walking was quite irritating, naturally.

Also painful.

Ella had slipped into the common room and to her dorm slowly but surely, noting the decorations on her way by but not yet ready to celebrate. She'd wanted to change and compose herself a bit first, figure out how she felt about everything. She still felt weird about the win, and about not playing Quidditch anymore, but she really couldn't not go to the party. She needed to stop avoiding things because she'd regret it later, y'know? And so when she'd gotten dressed and fixed her hair, the eighteen year old returned to the celebration.

Farewell and Goodluck.

Ouch. Her face fell a little at that but again, she needed to stay. And so she looked around and gave those in the room a faint smile. "Hey guys." Then she very quickly headed for the corner of the room and seated herself there. She might not be able to leave but she could make herself inconspicuous. Just saying.

Oooh, it was Ella!

Lux did not know her very well, but Ella was really nice and she had helped her out a little in Astronomy that one time. It was sad that she was going to be leaving soon as well as Sander, and Lux wished that she had gotten to know her better.

Waving, she noticed that Ella looked a little sad and figured that it was obviously because she would be leaving the school really soon. It was sad. "Hey, Ella! How are you?"

And...so much for being inconspicuous. The moping probably didn't help any, yeah? ...Yeah. So Ella sat up a bit straighter and smiled faintly, waving back. She liked Lux, thought she was a nice girl, and maybe talking would be a good distraction from all the things going on in her head.

"Hi there." Lux seemed happy, did she know? It was nice to see. "I'm mostly tired but good, thanks. How are you?" And was she enjoying the party? Ella felt the need to find out so she could pass that along to their head of house. Speaking of, where was Hadley? Hm.

Ian came down to join the celebration. He was quite pleased that the Badgers had taken the quidditch cup. He looked around to see what was going on around the party and who had come to celebrate. He recognized some of the faces. He walked over and took a cupcake.

Paaaarty! Adi was up for some of the relaxation and good times that came with the party. He was pleased that Hufflepuff had won the Quidditch Cup. They had won Gobstones too, right? Anyway, they were on target to win the House Cup too. This House had a lot of hard workers. And he was going to miss the seventh years. Especially Alec.

Adi entered the common room, spied the people there and quickly diverted his attention to the cupcakes. Yum! Badger cupcakes!

Alec had done his best to avoid coming to the common room for whatever reason. Not that he didn't like the place but after the match, all he had really wanted to do was take a wander around the grounds. Just him and his thoughts, which, in itself, was a dangerous combination.

But the eighteen year old was here. Standing right near the door of the common room and gazing around at all the decorations. Really, he had to hand it to the person who had managed to organise all of this. It looked great! And made something tug at the boy's heart, especially when his grey eyes landed on the banner. Farewell. And good luck too. And there was his name, right between his girlfriend's and her best friend's.

... Yeah... he had to look away before the pent up feelings ended up bursting. And maybe get away from where he was standing and join in on the party.

With his hands tucked into his pockets, the Head Boy headed over towards -- where else? -- the food section. His walk was slow, which gave him enough opportunity to look around the common room and maybe shoot small smiles over towards some badgers on the way. More were coming, right? And Hadley?

Reaching the table, he picked up a cupcake and examined it closely. Was this... chocolate? Yeah? Good. A big, ravenous bite was taken, as if the Hufflepuff hadn't eaten in a while. Breakfast had been a long time ago.

Ella smiled merely because Lux was having a good time. It felt good that something she'd been a part of brought other people happiness. It made her feel better about the win. "That's great. It was a tough win but it is nice, isn't it? We've got some brilliant people on the team." People she'd miss so much. SO much. ...This was hard.

Glancing around the room, Ella noted that more people had arrived. And hey, one of them was her boyfriend. She was worried about him, especially after the bludger hit, but she wasn't sure he was ready to talk. She waved though. There was smiling too because you couldn't not smile when you saw Alec Summers. It was just something about him. Adi got a smile too. It seemed the boys had gone straight for the food. She couldn't really blame them, actually. The cupcakes did look good.

Sad for Slytherin though." The poor Captain, she felt bad for him, because he seemed nice. Hopefully he was okay, or she could give him some chocolate frogs or something!

"It was really nice having you as a Head Girl this Term. You are really nice and it's sad that you are leaving now." Ella was awesome, and it was a shame that she hadn't had the chance to get to know her better.

After Josephina had set up the common room, she had departed back to her office to get ready, yet found herself exhausted so she took way longer than it should have. But at long last, loose-fitted shirt and flat shoes, she made her way back to the common room. It was only fitting that the ones she told first would be her babies ; her loves, her pride and joy.

Entering the common room as inconspicuously as possible, she made her way first towards the food table and picked up a glass, pouring some pumpkin juice into it before making her way towards the center of the room and using her wand to make a tapping noise on the plastic cup (which sounded like clinking of a glass! MAGIC FTW!)

She waited patiently for the chatter to stop before she would begin her spiel...

Sander looked up from eating his snacks when their Head of House tapped on a cup trying to get everyone's attention.

"Shhh...everyone. I think Professor Hadley wants to say something," Sander spoke up.

O_o wait. Did his speaking just add to the chatter?

Then he thought about the comment she had written for his last Muggle Studies homework. He chuckled to himself and wondered what his Head of House would say if he told her he actually did believe in true love. Heck! Tessa was proof of that.

Still enjoying her cupcake, Lux turned her attention to Professor Hadley as she tapped a cup.

Oooh, it was time for an announcement. Hopefully it was a happy one and not something like how she was retiring and wouldn't be a Head of House or Professor anymore. Lux liked Professor Hadley, and didn't want her to go.

Eagerly, she waited to hear what the woman had to say to them all.

Alright, they were quiet which meant she could speak , cause she really didn't feel like talking over them if they weren't even going to listen / hear what she had to say.

"So this will be quick ... but mostly I just wanted to say how immensely proud of all of you," Fina glanced around the room, making sure to make eye contact with each of them for at least a second. "There are really no words to describe how much I appreciate and have grown fond of each of you. To those of you who are graduating or transferring - I'll miss you, and I truly wish you the best of luck, but KNOW that you'll do well wherever life leads you."

But now ... the time had come for her little announcement. "Those of you returning, I will be seeing you next year and I look forward to it. However, there is something I must tell you, which is that I may or may not be at Opening Feast next term depending on ... things." She should be more specific. "As in, well, don't get disheartened if you don't see me. It's just well..." she rubbed her stomach conscientiously, as she whispered the last part. "There's what I hope to be a future wizard and Hogwartian on the way." And the secret's out ... among her badgers first. Can she go hide now?

Sander listened sadly as their Head of House reminded those graduating that they would no longer be coming back to school.

Yes that could have been a form of celebration for some but for him he wished that he could have a couple more years here. But that was not to be.

Then....wait...the Professor was rubbing her tummy. Even though he had only been five at that time, Sander knew that gesture very well. That was the exact way he had seen his mother rub her tummy when she was pregnant with his youngest sister, Elin.

Professor Hadley was with child...and then she confirmed it with her next words.

Smiling broadly, Sander clapped and moved forward to congratulate her. "I'm sorry I won't get a chance to see your baby, but I want to wish you and your husband all the best. A baby? That's so awesome." Sander was happy for his Head of House.

It was no surprise to Lux that Hadley was mentioning those who were Graduating. It made her sad to see so many people leaving though she knew that there were many exciting things in the future for the Seventh Years. Some of her friends would be leaving her, but she knew that she would still see them and be able to write to them. That thought made her happy.

As did the fact that Hadley would not be leaving them.

The shocker was when the woman rubbed her belly and talked about a future wizard.... Hadley was pregnant!!! With wide eyes, Lux felt so happy for her Head of House. She was going to be a mommy, and a good one at that surely.

"Congratulations, Professor Hadley. I am so happy for you and your husband." Did this mean that she would get to meet the baby? She really really hoped so. Lux loved babies.
