Today, the room looks rather ordinary. There is not much out of the ordinary, but there is, however, a large outline of a square in the middle of the room, taking up a good majority of the floor. There is enough room around the outside of this square for students to stand, but if you were to ‘test the boundaries’, as it were, you will find that there is nothing stopping you from stepping over the lines. In fact, there are plenty of chairs set up all around the room for those that might benefit from resting their weary bones.
Stood at the front of the room is today’s seminar leader; a tall, slightly gaunt looking, but nevertheless welcoming looking man. A tabby cat is winding its way around the man’s legs, giving the occasional ‘meow’.
Both man and cat wait patiently at the front of the room for everyone to take their seats before the seminar can begin.
OOC: Felixir will be your facilitator today. Happy RPing!

... So... another seminar.
Alec was here. He was tired, and weary and all he really wanted to do was sit down but... he had finally made it. The walk from the common room to this room could be considered to be long, you know. Not as long as the walk from the common room up to one of the towers but... still long. For him, at least. And he had nearly been walking at a snail's pace. Nearly.
Grey-blue eyes scanned the room, looking for something that would give him a hint as to what the seminar was going to be about. He... wasn't sure if he had read a notice in the common room -- had there been a notice? -- but if he had, he wasn't sure if he had read it properly. Or took in what this seminar would be about. So... clues. There had to be something here that would give him an indication as to what this was about. He didn't want to come across as dumb to Seminar Man.
... And... speaking of... "Hello Sir! Erm... nice cat," he called, smiling and slowly heading over towards the fro-- ... WOAH, box. Or... an outline of a square on the floor. Should he take the risk of stepping into the square? ... No. What if this was cursed? He didn't want a beard, thanks. The boy was fine with his stubble that looked like it was here to stay.
... Oh hey! Chairs! Grinning, Alec headed over towards the nearest chair and slowly lowered himself down onto it. He let out a sigh of relief. There. Comfort. Much better than all that walking.

Snailing her way to the seminar, that's what Ella was doing.
The Head Girl had left way early and everything, knowing how hard it was for her to get from one place to another lately. Don't even get her started on Quidditch. Being on the broom wasn't bad but how sore she felt afterwards, it was the worst. She just wanted to be better than she was now and she still had no idea what was going on with her and the other students suffering from the grey hairs and achy bones.
When she finally did make it to the room off the Great Hall, the eighteen year old had completely forgotten what the seminar was even about. Something she was interested in, that much she knew, but everything else had slipped her mind. And so she wore a slightly confused expression as she entered and looked around. "Hello Sir." That was for the dude with the cat. Speaking of cats, Ella had this urge to get lots of them. Fluffy and warm, they were. You couldn't go wrong with fluffy warm things. Yeah, cats were like the sweaters of the animal world.
Oh and hey, the boyfriend person was here. Ella very slowly made her way over to where he was sitting and eased herself into a chair. She winced slightly before getting completely comfortable and only then did she greet him. "Hey, Head Boyfriend." Tiny!smile.
Chair.....need a Chair. And those chairs looked simply marvelous. Better say hi to this seminar guy. He looked like the real life version of Death of something. Pretty Scary.
"Hello"
Now to the comfortable chairs and not make his back as bad as Flamsteed's was. Did they know how long the walk was from the common room to here. Merlin that distance. The moving stairs helped a bit. But not much. Seminars are always hit or miss. The picture one was interesting. That safety one on the other hand was pretty bad other than the shocking results. HeHe.

Sander had heard that there was another seminar being held and so had come here to check it out. He stepped into the room and noticed that there was a large outline drawn on the floor. Did that mean everyone had to stay outside it, or that they needed to be all inside it?
Sander sratched his head and looked at the other students already present in the room. They all seemed to have preferred to sit on the chairs provided instead. Sander walked over and placed his backpack on one of the chairs before slowly walking up to the front of the classroom where he had noticed a tall, slightly guant man was standing. Sander figured he was the instructor.
"Hello Sir. Welcome to Hogwarts. My name is Sander Strand," Sander smiled in greeting as he introduced himself. Then he noticed the cat that was winding itself around the man's legs. "Nice cat you have there, sir. May I have permission to pet him?" Sander asked. He had cats of his own but he always knew to ask permission first because some owners didn't like their pets touched by strangers.

Another seminar. Adi had somewhat enjoyed the first one and was quite looking forward to this one. He entered the room, his knees aching more than ever. He had never wanted to sit so much in his life.
What was this square outline thingy for? Yep. He had noticed that instantly. And he noticed chairs too and could practically hear them calling his name. But he had also spotted the person who was no doubt their instructor. And a cat. Though he really wanted to sit, Adi decided he should go greet the man otherwise he was come off as rude. And rude he was not.
"Hello, Mister,'' the second year said. "Hello, Cat. Welcome to Hogwarts.'' He grinned. "I'll just go sit. My knees hurt.'' Yep. The man would notice that he was weird besides bad knees with his gray hair and wrinkles.

Why couldn't they have more classes higher up in the castle?
Ben was really beginning to hate every time he had to travel up and down to the lowest portions of the castle like the dungeons and the Great Hall. And the new seminar, like the previous one, was down on the ground floor. If it hadn't been something he was interested in, the second year might have actually opted simple to skip it. After all it wasn't a required class. But he dragged himself down, at the very least wondering if he would learn anything about possibly being a good wizard to Conrad.
A man and a cat. And a marked out square on the board. Ben couldn't think what the last could mean when he took notice of what was in the room for clues. "Good day," he greeted the man, not sure what to actually call him. Then spotting chairs and a familiar face, he slowly and achely made his way over to a former near the later. "Hey..." he murmered.

Excited, Lux made her way over to where the new seminar was going to be held. Waving at the instructor, she smiled at him. "Hello, I am Lux!" And it was obvious that she was in a really good mood right now.
Spotting her friend Sander, she made her way over to him. "Peter Pan! I had a feeling you would be here." Laughing because she knew Sander and his love of learning. He was always trying so hard in school and that was why he was kicking butt with House points; it made her proud.

Mitchell reshouldered his bag as he entered the seminar. Random class. Cool. He needed a break from the normal stuff. He nodded a greeting at the guy in front before taking one of the seats.
Now. Why was there a square? Could he touch it?

Bay made his way to the seminar, this should be fun.. oh wait.. ackward he thought when he spotted Lux with Sander.. Bay still didn't want to see her at the moment, for he was really embarrassed and to be honest a little hurt. He beelined it to the other side of the room while passing the instructor. "Good morning" he said a little too sadly.
Bay found a seat and made himself busy with playing with his robes.
Seminars. What better thing to do with your time then more learning? But Caelen was one of those kids who KIND OF liked learning. No matter how much it pained her to say it sometimes. She liked aquiring knowledge and be able to intellegently think. And maybe this seminar would expand her knowledge.
And besides that, what if this showed up on her OWLS like four years into the future? She wasn't even sure how that would work, but maybe there would be a question like this. And the little redhead had to be ready. She had high hopes after graduation from Hogwarts and she WASN'T failing now.
The Ravenclaw walked into the room and took a seat, wondering if she should take out some paper. Was this a thing where you had to take notes? She honestly wasn't sure. A
Square. Random square for that matter. What could they be doing with a random square? That didn't make sense. She was going to have to think of it further.
Wizarding familiars? Didn't that involve the pets students could have at Hogwarts? She remembered reading that on the supply list. So was this a seminar on the animals allowed at Hogwarts? What did the square mean then? Maybe it was like some cool transfiguration thing? She honestly had no clue.

Another seminar.
Andrew did a series of grunts as he made his way towards the room where the second seminar of the term is being held. Not that it was a requirement but he’s convinced that extra information is always a good thing…and a good investment. He’s to take his NEWTs soon after all.
He was one of the first to arrive, and examined the room. Friendly guy up ahead with a cat, standing inside a square border on the floor and plenty of chairs around it. Hmm. Interesting. Andrew stepped inside the room and gave his greetings to their guest. “Hello, sir. Hello…cat.” Yes, the cat got an acknowledgement from him too. The seventh year eyed the chair closest to him and sat on it.
Now, where are the others?

Tessa shuffled into the room, resisting the urge to put a hand on her achy back. At least her knees and hips were feeling better- all thanks to the super comfy shoes she was wearing.
Anyway. "Hello sir," she said with a warm smile. Her smile widened at the sight of the cat, but she couldn't even begin to entertain the idea of bending down to pet him- her back hurt too much. Well. She was here.
That was pretty much it. Lex's back hurt and so did her knees, the last thing she wanted to do was walk from her Common Room to the Great Hall again but the seminar sounded like one of those things you had to attend so she couldn't very well skip. If she had bothered to pay attention to the title sooner she would have brought Felix but as it were, he was left curled up on her bed...where she should be....not here.
The Gryffindor payed little attention to the room, not the square, not the cat and hardly the man but he got a polite, "Hello Sir." Out of her before she hobbled over to a seat.
Yaaaaaawn.
When was nap time? She didn't miss it, did she?

There was a cat. Right there. Mo would have liked the opportunity to give the cat a proper greeting, as well as the man with it, but he was feeling lucky to have made it into this chair right here today. Definitely was going to just look at the cat from across the room. Hey, kitty.
"Hello, sir. What is your cat called?" Mo tried to give a merry wave to their instructor, although it made his elbow hurt. Finger wave instead. Heeeey there.

Lux laughed at Sander then shook her head. "I have no idea." She was sure they would come soon. And sure enough there was Bay. Smiling, she waved him over but saw him looking away and heading to the other side of the room. That made her sad. She wished he would talk to her. "Sander, I don't know what is up with Bay now. I think he is avoiding me..." For the life of her she could not understand why. Sigh.
Tessa came in after and headed straight for Bay. At least she was making sure he had company, because she was sure he wouldn't want her coming over to him.

She had settled next to Bay, whether he liked it or not, and glanced over to Lux and Sander. It felt strange not sitting with them- but she hadn't wanted her fellow lion to sit alone. She shot a small wave over to her friends and a smile, hoping that they would understand...
Wait, why did Sander look so upset? Some may not have noticed, but she knew the Hufflepuff well enough now to see that he was grumpy. She gave a more energetic wave, and when she had his attention, she blew a kiss to him- hoping no one else thought it belonged to them. If that didn't bring up Sander's mood, she didn't know what would!
"So, do you know what this is going to be about?" she asked Bay as she reclined back into her chair.

Sander frowned down at Lux. He wanted to tell her it was all her fault that Bay was now feeling awkward around her but he didn't want to make her feel bad again. So he shrugged his shoulders and looked forlornly over at where Tessa and Bay sat.
That's when he saw Tessa wave at him before blowing kiss. Sander smiled and pretended to catch the kiss with his hand. He was feeling better....for now.

Why was Sander frowning at her? It made Lux feel even worse, because it basically said to her that everything was her fault. Well, she knew now that she shouldn't have kissed Louis... but she honestly had no idea Bay would have flipped out about. It was all an accident and misunderstanding. Looking down, she sniffled and wanted to cry. Would Bay ever want to speak to her again? Or would he keep avoiding her forever just because of some stupid kiss that hadn't meant anything?

As the first student arrived, Jeremiah greeted him with a small smile.
"Hello," he replied, nodding politely back at the slow, gingerly moving young(?) man. Young man with a badge. Comforting. Jeremiah glanced down at the cat, who now sat at his feet and watched the arrivals, tail curled around his front paws. "Thank you. I'm quite fond of him," he (Jeremiah, not the cat) added.

Oh, this one had come right up to him. And such a polite young man too.
"Thank you Sander. My name is Jeremiah Bode." And introduction for an introduction and all that. And the boy was taking an interest in the cat. Even better. Jeremiah always felt much more at ease when he was surrounded by those who treated animals with respect. He nodded his at the boy-man-tallperson. "You may, indeed. Looking at his pet cat as well, Jeremiah clicked his tongue gently, and the cat stepped forward into the space in front of Jeremiah, ready to accept the attention.

"Hello young man. Thank you very much." For the welcome, that was. Jeremiah nodded at the boy when he mentioned his painful knees, noting he was a little young to have such an ailment, unless it was some sort of sporting injury? Though the boy's hair and face was enough to tell Jeremiah that it was not a sporting thing, or at least not entirely. In fact, most of the people coming into this room were having similar issues.

.......... or not.
This kid was like the complete opposite of the one before him, and Jeremiah noticed the stark difference all the more.
"Morning," he returned the greeting, gaze lingering on the morose looking boy for a moment, before focusing his attention back onto those stepping into the room.

Another silent one. This didn't bother Jeremiah; he wasn't one for too many words himself, which was odd, considering he was about to lead a whole seminar. The man glanced at the girl as she but looked to the next student who entered right behind her.

Yaaaaaawn.
When was nap time? She didn't miss it, did she?
Gosh, more hobbling? What were they doing at this school; were they mid hockey tournament or something. Jeremiah had resolved not to say anything, but it was relatively hard to just ignore.
"Hello," Jeremiah responded just as politely. Manners, you see. Make the world go 'round.

"Hello, sir. What is your cat called?" Mo tried to give a merry wave to their instructor, although it made his elbow hurt. Finger wave instead. Heeeey there.
That young man over there seemed pleasant enough, even with his waggly-finger wave. And was that another blue badge? Excellent.
"Hello young man," Jeremiah responded, and smiled. That was the first time he'd been asked this question. "My cat's name is Leo."
And at the sound of his name, the cat gave another 'meow'.

Jeremiah kept watching the door, waiting until there were none likely to step through the doors before he started. They could wait a few minutes.

Since when did Alice ever sit down first? She went right up to the man and his tabby before anything else, silently inspecting them from up close. Had the guy rubbed some kind of fish sauce on his pant legs? Was that why the kitty was so fond of him? Hmm, questions. Had 'em here.
Under normal circumstances, she would have crouched down and stared at the cat from close up, but her knees were going to crack. And pop. And probably dislocate.
So she just offered the man a "Hi, sir," and meowed right back at the cat. And then went to go take her seat.

We have a few minutes before we start."
Looking at his pet cat as well, Jeremiah clicked his tongue gently, and the cat stepped forward into the space in front of Jeremiah, ready to accept the attention.
Jeremiah kept watching the door, waiting until there were none likely to step through the doors before he started. They could wait a few minutes.
Sander smiled his thanks,"Thank you, sir," he told Mr. Bode before slowly kneeling down to first scratch the cat under his neck. Then he patted him on the head before beginning to stroke his back. "You are a handsome cat, Leo. Yes you are. " Sander whispered to the cat. He had heard the instructor telling Mo that was the cat's name.
"Well I have to go back and join my friends now, Leo. I'll come back and visit once class is over." Sander whispered to the cat, giving it one final pet and stroke before slowly...very slowly straightening up from his kneeling position.
Once he was standing as upright as he possibly could, Sander thanked the instructor. "Thank you for allowing me to spend some time with Leo." he told the instructor before walking over to where his backpack was, and where Lux was now sitting next to him, in her chair.
Her hair was officially more grey than dark brown and it sucked. BIG TIME. Even her reflection on any surface irritated her. Maybe even wibble on occasion. Being a Wayne, she wasn't going to cry like a snotty baby. She was a legit teenager now. Been it for six months now. Although she looked older than her grandmother. HOW SAD WAS THAT?
With the hood of her school robes cover her head, Beverly entered the room of the Great Hall. Her eyes first landed on the kneazle. She had a sudden urge to adopt a dozen of them and sit on a soft, rocking chair by a window with a good book. The rocking would eventually lull her to sleep and it would be awesome.
Raising her gaze slowly, her eyes landed on the man. She stared at him for a moment. Her natural instinct to hide and seem as small as possible was on limbo. She was set that she was going to...going to... Well. She wasn't going to think of the D word.
Grow old until her bones decade and are disintegrated in the wind.
So why not say hi? It wasn't like she could mess that up. Walking away from the entrance and deeper into the room she waved at him. "Good day, Sir." Oh my Merlin that had taken a lot... but... it felt nice. Not being so shy. Liberating, even. :3
Gwen couldn't hear anything. She had been wondering what was up with the hearing loss lately, but she hadn't expected it to affect her. Well, she could hear a little, if people talked loudly. But not if they were quiet. It made her appreciate Annora a lot more. Unfortunately, the eleven year old couldn't read lips, and nobody here knew ASL. She was also pretty forgetful. She had wandered into this room, but she didn't know what was going on. There were lots of people. Was it a class she'd forgotten about? If it was, lucky she had found it, even accidentally.
She chose a seat and lowered herself gently into it. No need to aggravate her achy muscles and bones, right?
