Entrance

The Great Hall is flanked by two large, thick, wooden doors that often make a BANG! sound when flung open by dramatic students and/or staff. There are large, beautiful glass windows at the end of the Hall above the staff dais, the usual enchanted ceiling over everyone, and the four regular house tables lined up neatly in the middle.

Whether you make an entrance or choose to simply enter the Great Hall, you'll still be wowed by its size and architecture every time. You might also be pleased to notice the general upgrade in cleanliness, and perhaps a light, pleasantly clean scent from the candles floating above all the tables. Isn't it nice, what money can do for a school?

Amethyst was PANTING.

She knew no one was leaving the castle yet. It was the next morning. Still, she'd half run from the front gates with her sweet assistant. She wanted to give them a present before they went home, a night they could sleep peacefully through. As if it hadn't been her fault since the beginning, but it didn't matter now.

The cure was here.

"We've made it," she exclaimed in whisper as she halted at the entrance to catch her breath. She put down the bucket she was carrying. It contained lightly steaming potion. After a minute or two, she grabbed it again and turned to her assistant.

"Shall we?" She was smiling. They were going to be cured!

Andrew was breathing RAPIDLY like a horse after a gallop.

They had rushed from St Mungos to the school in record time. They had known they were running out of time since the student's were going to take the Kings Cross train home the following morning.

Gasping for breath almost wheezing since his mentor had put up quite a run Andy almost knocked into her when she suddenly stopped in the entrance to the Great Hall. Trying to clam his raising pulse and breathing Andy whispered back in between gasps. "We did make it. I hope they haven't begun eating yet."

Regaining his breath and when his pulse slowed Andy changed his hold on the bucket full of potion. Lifting it up he beamed at his mentor. "Yes, let's go in and ease the pains."

Left foot right foot left foot right foot left foot right foot.

There was the usual echo of three steps as professor Botros made his way towards the great hall. His cane clanked against the stony floor though it was impossible to hear over the murmurs and chatter of everyone inside. He had his glasses on his nose bridge again, and the half-bald head was sporting the familiar silver hair.

Once he reached the double doors, he spotted the Healer and her young apprentice fussing around the hall. Putting on a small smile, he walked in. Strangely, he was glad that everything was going to be normal again, even if it meant he lost his golden hair again. At least his knees weren't rusty anymore, right? Right.

Mika hadn't even fully entered the great hall, really. She had just stood there and watched people smiling, laughing, and celebrating the end of yet another term. She had just been far too nervous for some strange reason to even step into the room. Perhaps it was because she still felt a little strange and bad about how things had started at the beginning of the term - and maybe because West knew things she didn't think he should know. All she really wanted to do was grab a cookie from the kitchens and head to bed...and maybe give her boyfriend who wasn't leaving the country a quick kiss.

After all she had no idea what was going to happen this summer. After all there was a strong possibility that she was heading to Peru and he well, who knew if he was going to go there. She just hoped he would. It was sort of her mothers idea get a trip in her before she went off to University after you know the end of term and all? She gulped as she thought about the impending NEWTs and well seeing the monster again.

Seriously her sister was sometimes horrible. Taking a deep breath she took a few quick steps into the great hall to say her goodbyes to her friends and the people she just happened to live in the same building with.
