"Hogwarts' School for Witchcraft and Wizardy's highest authority, the governing board consisting of 12 elected members of the community, will periodically and when necessary hold meetings and events in a provided room on the school premises."
-Hogwarts School Charter & Founding Documents
It just so happens that the room the BoG has been given used to be a dusty old classroom and practice room for student use. The dust is gone, the desks have been replaced by an elegant hardwood business table, and the governors all have comfortable leather executive chairs now. The long, green chalkboard on one side of the room is all that remains of the historic Classroom Eleven, as the rest of the walls now have classic wood panelling and handsome portraits on them.

Carter, wearing an awesome tie, entered the Board Room. He had just enjoyed a breakfast with his fellow Governor, Sherman.
Why? Because Carter liked the guy.
"It's nice to see that the money was put to good use." he commented. The school looked in much better condition than the last time he'd been there. Which meant, this meeting should be pretty uneventful, right? Now that the money crisis had been resolved.

Sherman's tie was so cool that he kept trying to look down at his chest while wheeling around, which wasn't a very clever idea. On his way into the board room after breakfast, the elderly man had wheeled into every possible obstacle- the door, the table, Carter.
See? This was why matching ties were bad ideas. Distracting.
"The dust made me sneeze," he commented idly, still trying to tuck his chin more. The fish on his tie were just so lovely. "I like not sneezing." And fish. He liked those, too.

Feeling rather much like a peacock himself, Cooper Cope strutted into the boardroom, one hand in his pocket and the other straightening up his peacock brooch which had been purposefully AND meticulously fixed to his metalic peacock coat.
He thought he might have been early, but soon found he wasn't alone. "Carter!... Sherman!" he greeted his fellow BoGers... and OOOHHHH! WHAAAAT?!
DID HE MISS A MEMO?!
"MATCHING ties?! Where's MINE?" he asked, feeling a little disappointed and left out. Was this their way of ousting him!? HUUUUUH? With the face of a KICKED peacockpuppy, Cooper sat himself down.. a little further away than he otherwise would have.

Time for another board meeting, although it probably would not be as bad as it could be, especially now that the school had the money it needed again. The condition this room was in certainly displayed that. It looked very nice.
Atticus didn't think he had come too early, but when he entered, only three other members were there. He would have thought more would have arrived by now, but better a little early than showing up last or late, yes? So he offered Carter, Sherman, and Cooper a smile just as he noticed the matching ties the oldest and youngest men were wearing and heard Cooper's comment.
"I didn't get one either, don't worry," he teased lightly with a little grin as he took his seat.

Board meeting. Vonderful. Erik had had to leave the continent just for this. He held the door open for Ivy with his usual stoic expression, and once she walked in ahead of him, he let it close with a soft click.
He didn't feel much like talking today, so he would leave that to his better half. He settled instead for giving nods to the three stooges and Atticus. Those ties were unprofessional and utterly ridiculous. They were the board of a school, not a circus.

With the door being held open by her the handsome Erik Vinteren, Ivy Knox entered the room and scanned her eyes over her.... coworkers. She put on a pleasant smile as she made her way to sit next to Erik.
"Good afternoon," Ivy greeted to the lot of them, sliding off her jacket and carefully draping it over the back of her chair. Smoothing her skirt, Ivy sat down and placed her hands on the table.
"Such lovely ties you have, Mr. Phillips, Mr. Fischer." Could they detect her lie through that smile? Probably not. She was kind of a professional at pretending to be nice. They were rather tacky, weren't they?

"You can have mine." Sherman offered the tie up almost immediately, undoing it from around his neck and nudging it towards Cooper. It was too distracting. Plus his favorite was still the one signed by Colin MacKenzie.
It was as if every time he even thought the name, angels sang from above.

.... and there went his ever present good mood.
"Mr. Clark," he corrected Ivy with a very uncharacteristic twitch, her false compliment left ignored.
He was NOT a Mr. Fischer, thank you.

Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite
Was the rumour true? It HAD to be true because the Gryffindor was tired of NO ONE being able to do ANYTHING. She couldn't count how many times she'd heard a Professors telling her to check the Healer. She did and nothing came of it except oh maybe MOAR grey hairs and back pain to kill. Merlin.
Alexa hobbled along the corridor until she found the room she'd been looking for and thrust the door open having it slam against the wall obnoxiously. The only thing that would get her regretting that she did that would be Headmistress Truebridge sitting somewhere in the room....yeah...she'd probably sink into the wall and pray to Merlin she could vanish before the woman could grab hold of her. The Gryffindor was in luck though! Board of Governors meant no staff. No staff meant no detention. Life was goo--
"MR. VINTEREN!!!!!" Eeeeeeeeeppppppppppp!!! Mr Vinteren! Mr. Vinteren was in the room--and her hair was GREY! Ugh! Nuuuu! He couldn't have picked a worst meeting to attend.
Lex cleared her throat and closed the door behind her. "Hello." She said super politely. She knew these people, even got her father to vote for some of them. They were SO welcome and now it was her time to ask a favour of them. "Pleasant weather we're having no? It's lovely. I'd love to be out enjoying it but see, I've got stiff joints. I've got a back that hurts like Circe knows what and I've got some serious complaints." Which the board was meant to take care of? Had to make this quick before anyone went to tattle about the Gryffindor Prefect ruining the meeting.
Lex made her way to the table and took an empty seat. This belonged to someone else she was sure but this was a CRISIS. "There's a serious problem at this school. See my hair? It's meant to be blonde. I would like it blonde again. We students are DYING SLOWLY." Were they worried yet? She could get more dramatic if need be.

This was the last straw! Adi had had enough of these stupid problems that made him look like a little old man. Arriving at the room, Adi hobbled right in, not giving a care in the world about who told him what. The BoG should do something right now that fixed him and the others.
"Hello, hello!'' he said rather loudly. Best be courteous if he was going to ask them to do something for him. Plus he was speaking that loudly to get their attention. ''Something is wrong with the students at school, you know. It involves gray hair, achy joints, wrinkles, slow movement and what not.'' Did they see him? He was proof of what was going on there at Hogwarts.
Adi lowered his voice. "You people need to do something, please.'' Yep. They'd better do something. And fast!
That's when Adi noticed Alexa. Oh, goody! Someone to back him up. Hey, Candy girl!

Ella wasn't one to intrude or make waves.
Honestly, she wasn't even sure what had possessed her to come the Board of Governors Board Room but she was here and it had taken her ages and she'd come to far to back out now. She could already here heightened voices though with her hearing, she had NO idea what was being said. And she was petrified that she was going to get in trouble for this but she was just so tired of this. Literally too and she was concerned because of Quidditch and the extra stress and she had a future to plan only now it seemed more likely she'd need to plan a funeral at the rate she was aging and Merlin help her, the eighteen year old was on the verge of a mental breakdown. And so the aged Head Girl tentatively put her hand on the door knob and let herself inside, noting that she wasn't the only student who had heard rumors there would be a meeting here today. At least she'd have back up.
The anger and making demands thing, though? In Ella's experience you got more with honey than vinegar and so she very slowly, and all the while clutching her back, stepped forward and cleared her throat.
"I'm so sorry to interrupt." Not really, actually, and that was a first. "It's just, clearly my fellow students and I are scared and worried and well, aging." She gave looks to Lex and Adi, encouraging ones but ones she hoped said to calm down because she didn't want to get kicked out before she was heard. "And I...we mean no disrespect by coming in here but we're trying to learn and to be kids and we can't do that like this. I...I'm eighteen and I feel like...well like how I imagine a 75 year old woman would feel and this isn't right." Helpless looks for you, Board of Governors. And because she didn't want to throw the Headmistress under the bus, she hastily added. "I'm sure the school has been doing everything they can to help but maybe with additional brain power, it can be sorted and just..."
She wasn't a speaker. Beverly was much too shy for that, but she could write. And write a letter she did. Being the good student she was, the third year didn't want to preoccupy her Head of House or Headmistress with the strange aging stuff. But what about the Board of Governors? Comfortably sitting in comfortable chairs - as she could imagine - talking and laughing. Generally being happy while she wasn't. While she was distressed and her hair was grey and her joints ached and had WRINKLES.
Not only that. But that morning she'd mistaken her hair for cat hair on her bed. She'd almost strangled one of her dorm-mates thinking their cat had invaded her space. But no. It had been HER HAIR.
To add to it all, her magic was lacking. LACKING. It'd been the last straw and so, a strongly worded letter was made.
Seeing as the door was opened, Beverly slid inside. Multi-colored eyes roamed the room. There they were. Governors all comfy in comfy chairs. Not looking like eighty-year old's. UNFAIR. For the first time she didn't feel as intimidated. Why? The Head Girl was there. She protected students. Yes, yes.
"I'm here with them," Beverly said, stepping to the Head Girl's side. Then she put the letter down on the table and slid it toward the closest Governor. Read... Please.
SPOILER!!: Letter
To whom this may concern,
We, the students, are aging. Grey hair, wrinkles, joint paint, memory loss, shaking hands, blemished skin, hair loss, coughing, lack of energy are just a few of the things that have been happening to us. Well, I can really only speak for myself, but I've seen it in other students.
It's not normal. Have you ever seen a thirteen year old look like an eighty year old? I would really appreciate help in fixing this before I age a hundred and my bones wither. I would hate to contact my family, but this is scary. I'm scared. And it's frustrating. I can't even remember what homework is due and when.
Please, at least guide us with advice as to what to do.
Nigel was definitely not one to complain. But this was getting out of hand. He knew he did not do anything to deserve this horrible fate. He was aging way to fast and after denying it for so long. Nigel was finally accepting this as fact.
Horrible Horrible Fact.
Just look at his hair. It was time to talk to someone in charge. Maybe the Board of Governors. Shame to say he did not really trust Truebridge to deal with this. He went in and Ella and Lex where already there with a couple other students. Did that mean Alec was close behind. Shrug.
"PLEASE DO SOMETHING. JUST LOOK AT MY HAIR"
He did toss all of his hair in front of his face to give them a look at how grey it was. Just Horrible. Who cares about wrinkles and joint pain.

Jun was now getting stiff joints aside from the gray hair, wrinkles and memory loss. He didn't even try to go to the healer because he saw that students were still coming out the same from the hospital wing. Walking into the room, Jun had to take a break and catch his breath. Nuh uh. This had to be fixed NOW. He didn't care if he was interupting. He just wanted to feel like a normal sixteen year old again. "Hey! Y'know you should all be doing something about this aging thing," He whirled his finger around, signaling to everyone else that was there. Including Lex, who he had told first. Then he noticed the head girl, who's name he had now completely forgotten, and his house prefect. Seriously, are they just not caring about this? Just look at his wrinkles and gray hair. NO NORMAL SIXTEEN YEAR OLD HAD THIS!
"Can you please just find a charm or potion that reverses this? We just want some help,"
Like RIGHT NOW.

Carter duplicated his tie and offered it to Atticus. "Sometimes we wear matching ties." Other times it was belts. Sometimes it was on purpose. Sometimes it wasn't.
He then nodded a greeting at Ms. Knox and Mr. Vinteren.
... he then blinked. What was with these elderly people in the room? (Present buddy excluded.)
He walked over to them. He leaned against the table and tilted his head to the side. "You're... students?" he asked. Here? Currently? Aches were perfectly normal. This place was huge and most students played quidditch or didn't get enough sleep or had bad posture. Wrinkles, could be explained.
And then more and more students came in. One caught his attention though. He knew this one. The one with the Head Girl badge. She was a friend of his little sister's. "How long has this been happening?" he said to her. A quick explanation would be nice. They should probably get out of here before the Headmistress showed up. He had a feeling she wouldn't like that they just barged in.

More students were here which...while it helped their case, probably wasn't going to gain them any points with the Headmistress. Gah, they really should have gotten together and had a student meeting before they did this. If only there had been time. Actually, time didn't seem to be a thing any of them had much of lately. It was like with each day they were getting considerably older. Scary stuff, that's for sure.
And then Anya-face's brother was approaching them and Ella bit her lip. She knew who he was, had been in his house even. Yes, we remember the pet shark. Maybe his being there was a good sign. If she could convince anyone to help, hopefully it would be him.
He seemed to recognize her too because now he was addressing her and the eighteen year old straightened up, wincing a bit but trying to ignore the pain as best she could. "Since the start of term. I don't know when, exactly. It started slowly. A few grey hairs here, a wrinkle there. I thought it was just stress but now we all look like....this." And no, she didn't know why. That's why they were all so frustrated and scared. Pleading looks for you, Carter Phillips.
Oh! One of the older peeps noticed them. Okay, maybe she hadn't thought about this through. What if they got mad she - they - were here without permission? And more were coming in. Beverly took her letter and hid it behind her back.
They'd just talk it out, yeah? Like the civil people they were. Yikes!
She inched a little behind the Head Girl. "And body aches and...p-plain rapid aging," Bevelry added. It was pretty obvious, though, that she looked like a mini-grandmother. Which was NOT normal.
Sardine VIP || Shark Attack! || D A R T E R || Captain Oblivious
Carter frowned slightly at the wincing. He quickly grabbed two chairs and offered them to two girls who were currently speaking. "Please. Take a seat."
He glanced at the girl who was not the head girl. She'd left a note, right? He glanced at it quickly. Thirteen. She was meant to be thirteen. He frowned and glanced at the others. So they were current students. That wasn't good. If it had been going on all year, he hadn't been told about it.
"Has anyone gotten younger?" he asked the group in general. That seemed to be the first thing that should be addressed. Was this something like the timestealer? His sister had been a victim of that and he wanted to do everything in his power to prevent it from happening again. Or, in this case, getting worse.
Besides, it made sense. If someone was getting older, someone else should be getting younger.

Penelope too had heard there was supposed to be a Board of Governors meeting and as she happened to be on the ground floor at the same time as several clearly aging students were apparently heading into the room, the Gryffindor decided to join them. It seemed like a good place to get answers or help, yeah? It didn't seem like many professors were trying to help - aside from Culloden with that wrinkle cream thing which was nice - and even the ones that might have were being affected by this. And it was time more people knew about this so it could be stopped. She did NOT like having grey hair and feeling old and forgetful.
So she slipped into the room with the rest, not feeling like she had to say anything aside from, "Yeah, what they said." No need to repeat, yeah? The Board members probably weren't deaf and were surely listening. Like Atticus, he was a good listener. Maybe she should've written to him about this beforehand even. Ah well.
As for.....Carter's question, Penelope didn't know the answer to that. She'd only seen people who were getting older so far.
Atticus nodded politely in greeting as a few more Board members entered the room and was pleasantly surprised when Carter duplicated his tie for him. How nice. He accepted it and was about to thank the young man when more people suddenly burst into the room - people he was positive were not board members but were...students? Hogwarts students who didn't look at all like Hogwarts students generally did. He was positive that was who they all were because he noticed a girl that he was sure was Penelope, even with the grey hair and all.
They weren't technically supposed to be here, to be sure, but that surely meant this was an emergency they needed to be aware of. They didn't often interrupt their meetings here, so even though some didn't make the best first impression by barging in, Atticus was willing to listen to them.
He'd started to pick up the letter one of the girls had laid on the table, but she'd picked it back up again before he could. Carter appeared to be handling the situation well by talking with them, so he supposed he would take care of this. "May I still see your letter?" he asked the young/old Slytherin girl with a kind smile.

Ella was very aware of the smaller and clearly nervous Slytherin behind her and she did her best to keep calm if only to make the younger girl feel better. She'd sort of decided that if things went badly, she'd be the one taking responsibility for their intrusion. She was the Head Girl, after all. If they were setting a bad example by being here, than that was mostly on her since she was supposed to be a leader.
She offered a kind smile to Carter as he offered them seats and looked reassuringly at the brunette, motioning her head towards the chairs. Ella then very slowly made her way over and lowered into one. People getting younger? "I'm not sure? Could be." She hadn't been paying much attention considering she was trying to manage herself mostly. "But students aren't the only ones aging. Professor A-Flamsteed is as well."
Glancing around at the other students in the room, Ella willed them all to keep calm and try and offer up information without yelling or getting out of hand. So far the Board seemed tolerate of their being here and she wanted to keep it that way. She was actually really glad that Nigel and Penelope were here because they were good at that, staying calm. At least it seemed that way to her.

Cassandra Rae-Branxton wasn't late... it was just that everyone else was so early. She brushed into the board room, completely aware that she looked much less professional than she normally did. That was completely appropriate, considering... well... her youngest child had some strange unsolvable disease. She stopped short and rubbed her eyes as she took in the students gathered there.
It would have been helpful if said youngest child had mentioned everyone had this disease.
"Have a seat in the chairs along the wall if you're a student. You know you aren't meant to be in here. It isn't allowed." And really... she was going to speak to Annie about getting the charms on this room improved if any old young person could wander in. Although these were any old OLD persons.

HELP.
She needed help. Sophie could almost FEEL the arthritis crawling its way through her body. WHY?! What had happened to her youth? She had thought about trying to find her Head of House, but the third floor was so hard to get to! She finally made it to the ground floor, when she heard the sound of adult voices. ADULTS. She had never been so happy to hear them before!
She made her way into the room just in time to hear--...

Why, YES. Yes, someone had!
"Botros," she said, her voice cracking a little. "There's strange things going on here. Strange things. The young are getting older, and the older are getting younger." But she assumed they already knew that. Sophie wanted to trust her professors, but why was Botros the only one benefitting from this change? And what about Bentley? They were finally getting some attention. It was the Carter guy, she voted for him, who first decided to take them seriously, them being everyone else that walked in after her. Sweet, now she wouldn't be the only one in trouble...except it didn't look like they'd be in trouble any time soon. They were actually trying to get to the bottom of this.
Ella was doing most of the explaining so she was fine with sitting where she was for now at the fancy table and waiting for the solution that was meant to come. She wasn't sure...but she didn't think the solution would come in the form of Vivi's mum even though she was the next to come through the door, in fact, the woman was pointing out that they weren't allowed...because they didn't already know that much. Pffft.
Here hazel eyes fell to the chairs at the side of the room. Did that mean she'd have to move? But this one was so comfy, so...not looking like the one by the wall. This was a right fix it was.
With a reluctant sigh, Lex heaved herself up from the chair she'd been sitting in but seconds later she heard something like a CRACK. "Holy kneazle!" The pain was REAL. "Ow ow ow ow ow!" Slowly she lowered herself back into the chair. She KNEW this was going to happen. It'd bee feeling weird all day. Sweet Circe this hurt. Ooowwwwwww! She'd.....she'd just sit here a little longer.

It was strange. But nice hair.
Nigel was inching back towards the door because they were not really answering the one question and he was seriously considering just leaving. That is when Mo's mom came in through the door. Yeah.....might as well do what she says and sit down.
Nigel did not want to make her angry.

Only did Beverly sit down when the Head Girl did so. For a strange reason she was going to follow the Head Girl's lead. Maybe because her own brother had been Head Boy at some point, was that she trusted someone with a Head badge, or because she seemed really nice.
Wincing slightly as she sat down and clasped her hands tightly on her lap. Okay. Now she was really nervous. A feeling of breaking the rules suddenly hit her. Were they supposed to ask permission to be in here? She didn't know. She was a new kid, remember?
Then another man spoke up, wanting to read her letter. Beverly looked at him anxiously even though he was smiling. What if he found it rude or mean and docked her points? (Could he do that?) Worse. What if he told her dad and brother?
Biting her lip, she ended up handing it over. "I didn't mean any disrespect. I'm just-" Scared, "-worried."
When a woman walked in Beverly sunk into the seat. Ugh. They weren't supposed to be in here. She was going to get house points docked. She just knew it. No wibbling, Wayne!
Then the Gryffindor Prefect over there was dying. Or probably broke her hip. It didn't help with Beverly's anxiety. There was no cure. They were going to stay like this forever and then die!
