One of the most rewarding things you can do in your seven years at Hogwarts is win the House Cup. It is not an easy feat, but with a little effort and a little perseverance anything is possible. In the common room, a poster of a lion may be found on the wall by the noticeboard. Here, Professor Bentley, your Head of House, will display the names of the top five achieving students and leave a few words of wisdom. These names will be updated on a regular basis, so be sure to keep up with classes and homework if you hope to glimpse your name on this prestigious list. The lion is enchanted, and will purr affectionately when approached by one of the top students, however if you have been lazy, don't worry too much. He can't hurt you, though he might try to take a swipe at you with his paw. Good things he's just a poster.

To be in with a chance, be sure to attend all your classes and complete any homework assignments in a timely manner.

United we will conquer, divided and we will be defeated.

OOC: Welcome to the Roar Awards! Here I will post the top five students with the highest house points. To give Gryffindor a fighting chance at winning the cup this term, all you need to do is get involved. Lessons and homework will earn you points, unless of course you break the rules, then you will lose points. But the main point is to keep spirits high and do whatever you're comfortable with. Just have fun.

SENSATIONAL start to the term, my dear Lions! Your fierce and competitive nature is showing, and it pleases me that you're using this energy to progress you're learning outcomes.

Remember though to remain balanced, take a break from study from time to time and do something fun, do something for you. Participating in extra curricular activities is always a good route to take when needed a break or a new way to challenge yourself. Give quidditch a shot? Or gobstones? Or try dueling on for size?

Remember to find your niche, be organised, and enjoy yourself.

Young Lions, you should all be so proud of yourselves in this moment. Not only have you thrust yourselves into the new school year roaring and rearing to go, but you have been consistent in your efforts and know how to make your Mamma Lion proud.

Continue the wonderful work that you've been doing. Remember to keep your diaries up to date with the tasks from the noticeboard and of course make sure you schedule time to stretch your legs. Relax. You deserve it.

My my my, young Lions. I cannot begin to express the extent of my pride that I feel for you all. Your efforts this term have been astounding, and I am more than pleased with your behaviour and conduct, save for the odd hiccup.

You should all give yourselves a pat on the back, and continue whatever it is that you have been doing up until this point. Study, work hard and play hard... this is your time to shine.

As the term is slowly drawing to a close, I cannot begin to express my pleasure of having worked with you all this year. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed there are no words to explain just how proud of you all I am. Throughout this long and tedious year, we have faced challenges, some small and some great, and at the end of the day while we may not be at the top of the leader board, and while we don't have a trophy to stick in under our belt, we can all go home for the year knowing that we have given it a red hot crack.

My dear Lions, I'd like to take this opportunity to express just how amazed I am by your efforts. You have handled the aging epidemic with a maturity which I'm sure is a bi-product of this illness, and with persistence and valour. Thank you all, for all the wonderful things that you have achieved this year... not dying being at the top of the list.

And it seems we have a change in our leading Lions! A congratulations to all that have met the challenge this term.
