Herbology Noticeboard

A large decorative cork board is fixed to the stone wall outside Professor Bentley's office near the terrace. The noticeboard is a place where you can find information about classes, homework and any other Herbology related items. It is updated on a regular basis, so make sure you check it regularly so that you don't miss anything.

Herbology Lesson One

Who: All Hogwarts Students

What: Lesson One

When: Friday 10th January @ approx 2am GMT

Where: The Student Garden

Items to Bring: Common sense, dragon hide gloves, comfortable shoes- strictly no high heels, a smile and basic note-taking implements.

OOC: The lesson won't start for about 8-12 hours after the lesson thread has been posted, so people will have time to RP arriving to class, reacting to their surroundings and greeting their peers and Professor Bentley. The class will last up to a week. Please read through the Herbology Rules and Expectations prior to attending the lesson, I will KNOW if you haven't read them. Herbology Homework One

Task:

Your task, is to collect your thoughts and plan out your Topiary Project which we will begin in the next lesson. You are required to consider a number of different factors that were discussed during lesson one.

All plans must be written down and submitted for approval before the start of lesson two.

The following is a guideline only, however you are encouraged to consider factors outside of those provided.

You will be encouraged to use a number of different methods to create your topiary, however it is important that you consider which method/technique best supports your design and should be able to explain why.

Herbology Homework Two

Task:

Write a journal reflection of approximately one page, or 12 inches of parchment, outlining the maintenance care you have performed on your topiary since their creation in our previous lesson. Reflect on some of the challenges you may have faced in doing so, or even in the process of its initial creation. What do you feel you have learned from this practical experience?
