Graduates' Boats

"Firs' years, this way!"

Never thought you'd hear that again, did you? This time, though, the familiar call seems to be nothing more than an echo, as the groundskeeper is not actually keeping watch over the little boats tied to Hogwarts' dock. Perhaps the Hogwarts staff feels that their newest graduates are more than capable of sending themselves off?

The same fleet of magical boats that carried you to the school as a firstie still bob gently on the dark, deep lake, waiting for your departure. Two graduates per boat, please, and be careful not to tip over. The boat will take off once you release its rope from the dock.

Enjoy your last trip across the Black Lake, and be mindful of Barty.

So... this was where Anya had told him to come. And he was the first one here. Jake looked around at all the boats tied to the dock. He made his way over to one and nudge it with his toe. It was a little weird for him, being here. He had never ridden in one of these boats since he hadn't been here for his first year. And now he was to ride in one.

To the train. That would take him home.

It wouldn't hurt to wait, right? Maybe someone else would show up soon and offer to share a boat with him.

The last time she was in one of these boats she was small, eleven and ready to take on the world. She was taller now, eighteen and aftraid of any and everything the world had to throw at her. With her robe over her shoulders she walked down towards the boats and stopped standing to the left of someone. " crazy isnt it?" she said before looking over to see who it was.. "oh, hey Jake." yuo that was Jake. Funny though, she had never called him just Jake before, he had always been just Keller. No better time for proper names then now though, eh?

Brodie stepped into a boat and shook his head, there was now way this was happening... Not now. His last time on the boats. He shook his head and sighed. He slowly sat and ran a hand through his hair. He couldn't believe this year was coming to an end. It seemed like the year just started yesterday and now he was going home and would have to start watching his new brother and sister, but he was alright actually. He'd let them know what Hogwarts was like, and if he'd have to, when they came to the age, he would make sure his siblings would get to go to the amazing school. The eighteen year old smiled weakly and sighed, Hogwarts... It's been crazy, but I wouldn't have it any other way... Thank you.

Nerida looked back this was it. No more Hogwarts after this. She just couldn't believe that the year was already over. It had all gone by so fast. It hadn't seemed possible, but it was and she was going home. And the next year she would wave goodbye to her little siblings who would be going to Hogwarts. She looked around. Hey look boat with that boy in it. She put a foot in it and then sat down.

The blonde gave him a smile, and asked "Hey Brodie!" It was Brodie right? She had seen him with Taylor during one of their school years, or was that just a girl that looked like Taylor. "Can you believe its over?"

Dragging her feet Minerva took her time leaving the castle. She had taken a last walk around where she could before leaving. Touching walls, looking at portraits even talking to a few. She couldn't believe her time was up and she was now leaving like she came in those boats. No.. not quite like she had come. She was taller, even if not by much, she almost was a fully different person now. So much had changed in these seven years. She moved her wand tapping her head blonde going brunette. She came in as a brunette why not leave as one.

Moving towards the boats puffy blue eyes fell on the first one Jake and... was that Ariana. She blinked assuming they would have sat together, but no matter she'd see her best friend on the train. Giving a small wave to them and then to Brodie and Nerida, Min moved to a third and empty boat. She looked at it awhile a little afraid to get into it. Where was her kitty when she needed help. A small smile crossing her lips, she seriously relied on her puff boys way to much this term.

Carefully getting into the boat she sat quietly looking up at the castle trying to put it in memory, in a place that would never leave her mind. "Thank you" She said quietly before resting her hands in her lap and letting the tears stream down her face.

Wade grinned a little before slipping beside her to help her in the boat. Just like how a regular kitty would help another. "Yeah.. no problem." After hearing her thanks, before sitting extra carefully in the boat too.. They were really sailing. His brows turned inward seeing as they were slowly moving away.

"So..." What could he really say now? "What's for dinner tomorrow?" ..It was a start.

Hearing someone speak beside him, Jake looked up to see Ariana. He gave her a half smile and nodded. "Hey, Logan." He did notice that she called him by his first name... which was sort of weird, because she'd never done that before. He didn't mind, though.

"It is kinda crazy," he answered her earlier question as he stepped into the boat. "I bet it's really weird for you. You've been here seven years, haven't you?" As far as he knew. Maybe he should have asked Anya or something. She'd know. "Wanna share the boat?" He held out a hand in case she wanted assistance getting in... it was kind of wobbly.

"You and Indy will come to dinner soon, right? Once every one is settled for summer you two will come and visit right?" She knew she'd seem him and Indy all summer, but all of the sudden she felt like she might not.

Putting her head on his shoulder she rested her eyes. "You have an exciting summer though, your sisters will be due in a few months, right?" She thought maybe August, but maybe she didn't have that right. "Other than your sisters anything big planned? You and Indy doing any traveling?"

He probably had an exciting summer planned or at least Min hoped he did. "oh" they were moving and she was sitting backwards with the moving. She felt a bit sick, but wasn't going to say anything. Just let the motion sickness feel pass. She closed her eyes leaving her head on his shoulder.

It was a whole lot of crazy. One thing being super crazy was seeing a Jake without an Anya, she liked her baby lion very much thank you. Though it was nice to just be with the others from her class and stuff.

"least im not terrified of the lake this time around." she remembered that, she was so scared to go across the black lake at night in an enchanted boat, though with the things shes gone through at this school this was one of the easiest things.

Jayden walked slowly, smiling up at the castle with tears in her eyes as she took her last look at the castle she had called home for so many years. "Oh Merlin," she grumbled to herself as she sat down. "Crying is ridiculous. Jayden doesn't cry. Nope. Oh goodness. Talking to myself again!" She laughed half-heartedly between hiccups. "Goodbye Hogwarts, it's been real...."

Of course it was a big moment now for Jake, but all he could really think about was how he wished Anya had gotten a chance to ride the boats again. There was a lot of small things that she would be missing out on, now.

He helped her into the boat, laughing and catching his balance as it wobbled. He very carefully lowered himself onto one of the seats, making sure to sit in the middle so he didn't tip it one way. "I bet these seemed a lot bigger back then, huh?" Because when you were a first year you were not an almost six foot tall man. That was for sure.

"Ready?" He asked, leaning over to untie the boat from the dock.

Taylor wandered and got into a graduate boat. She had always admired the ones who had ridden in them each year and now it is her turn.... Tay didnt want to socialize or anything... she just wanted to cry and be alone for once. Taylor didnt know what she wanted to do but now that she graduated... what is there to do... She had sent in some college applications and got accepted into some but it just seemed empty right now... Tay glanced back at Hogwarts then sighed, shrugging and putting on a smile. Door is closed... and going to an open one...

No, no she wasnt ready. She wasnt ready to leave, to grow up and do this adult thing. Nope not ready. "ready as ill ever be." mighr as well get it over with. She sat down opposite Jake as he reached to untie the boat that would lead them away from the school to the train. "At least there we're no dementors this term" ... also these boats did seem a lot bigger back then as well... [B]" yeah, they seem.so much smaller then what i remember now that i think about it."[B] she hadto of grown at least a foot and some during her time here. Funny how much changes in seven years.

So, this was it? Finally leaving and all? It was such a weird thing to think about, knowing that she was a graduate and she was independent and all that. Kat wouldn't be coming back to this place. No more badge pinned to her robes. Nope, nothing at all. No friends except when there is Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade, you know. But besides that, her student-life has ended. The boats... she rode them as a firstie. That was her first time, and this was her last.

Pssh. Old, I tell ya.

Anyway... she was waiting. Or something. Whatever.

He shook his head, "No, no... I don't mind you being here." He looked over at Taylor and gave a small sigh. Brodie knew she was taking this hard, and she always just let her emotions show. He'd talk to her on the train hopefully yeah? Then he could hug her and comfort her. But he looked back to Nerida, "I'm sorry," He gave a weak smile, "But most of the time that Taylor and I were together has kinda slipped away after the breakup." He nodded, "But I do remember meeting you... I'm just horrid with peoples names normally."
