Coming out on the grounds, the first thing you might notice is the new circular rink that wasn't there before. Come closer and enjoy this Muggle activity with a wizarding twist!
As you enter the rink, you will notice the table with shoes that have been transfigured into roller skates, as well as rollerblades if you are feeling well-balanced. Not into the Muggle way of things? Well don't worry! You are welcome to just charm your shoes using Glisseo to go skating around!
Charm your shoes or try it out Muggle style and come skate to the upbeat music playing for your enjoyment! Remember, your fun and excited student leaders are skating around to help if needed.
OOC: This is pretty self explanatory. Just have your charries skating around the rink. All SS rules apply and the shoes are unlimited so they will not run out. Have fun and if you need anything the student leaders are always around!
Oh AWESOME! Tora grinned as she ran to the table with the tricked out shoes. She had been rollerskating only once before, and thought it had been fun, so when she saw the roller rink out today... she made a beeline for the smooth concrete. But now she had a dilemma. Roller skate or roller blade? She paused with a hand on each type of shoe... what would happen if she tried both? One on each foot! She grabbed a mixed matched pair and bounded over to a bench. Alright.
The second year bent over and undid her own gray converse before tugging a roller skate on her left foot first. Better to have the more stable show on first. Fumbling with the laces of the roller blade on her right, she finally managed a sloppy bow, not much caring how messy it was so long as it was on tightly. More support. With a wibble and a wobble she carefully stood, clutching the bench for extra, much needed balance.
Stepping carefully into the rink, Tora tried out her stance without any wall support. Finding she could stand on mismatched skates/blades, she tried pushing off all by herself and....
"Whhhooooaaaahahhhhh!" one foot went right, the other went forward making for a very uncomfortable half split which Tora barely caught herself. Huffing and puffing she worked her feet back up to her hands and carefully stood up. That's better! Alright. Now to continue this experiment!
This time she held onto the wall as she practiced moving with two different skates/blades. It was a different balance, different movement for each foot and it required quite a bit of concentration she didn't really have. Still, she soon made it off the wall (sort of) and was tentatively trying to get herself about the rink. It was half working...
Leobald headed down to the grounds clad for a day outside in the May warmth that hinted that summer wasn't that far away. Staying cooped up in the library for most of the week it felt nice to be outside and to celebrate the end of term with the student's.
He walked around aimlessly amongst the areas before he happened upon the Roller Rink which immediatly intrigued him. Leo knew his balance wasn't exactly perfect, but roller skating could be fun.
Snagging a pair of blue roller skates rather then blades since he wasn't sure he could even stand on skates well enough to not injure himself. Blades felt like a too big risk to take unless he wanted to end up in the hospital wing. Strapping on the skates Leo cautiously maneuvered himself out onto the rink seeing a girl (Tora) already there. Testing his balance with a few skates forward he was going to call over to her when he started to wobble. Quickly moving over to the closest wall he gripped it.

Sophia walked around the different areas, taking it all in and not looking to do anything in particular really, save to look, when she happened upon Leobald in a skating rink of all places. She folded her arms and watched him for a while, cringing as he almost fell.
She shook her head and walked over to him with a slight smirk on her face, arms still folded.
"What in Merlin's name are you doing Leo?"

Wade's head occasionally bobbed with the music while organizing the shoes and everything at the stand. They were clean, as he made sure to Scourgify them beforehand, but understood if anyone else decided to keep their own. He had diven down as a few shoes fell under, before he heard some noise.
He rose up just in time to see one Ravenclaw girl taken a fall, his brows furrowing. "You okay?" Were the first words to escape his lips. She seemed to be recovering though, before his eyes next went to two more people.
"Hey Mr. Kitridge and Professor Bellaire. Everything alright?" Wade smiled waving at them. He then noticed as Mr. Kitridge made a death grip to one of the walls. "Do you.. need some help, sir?" It had been quite some time since he actually skated, but didn't mind getting back on if needed.
Bronislava wandered over to the summer party the school was throwing. She wasn't so sure she was in the mood for celebration, but figured she might as well try to have a good time now that the competition was over and the term had come to a close, which meant she would be going home soon. She hadn't exactly been pleased with the way things had turned out but she was thankful for the fact that they'd be leaving. She was rather homesick at this point.
She had come to a skating rink of sorts and hung back for a moment, just watching the handful of people there. This might be a fun activity to get her mind off of things, she thought. Walking over to the table of wheeled shoes, she eyed them a bit distastefully. Were these shared shoes? She had no idea who might or might not have stuck their sweaty feet inside so she decided to skip those and charm her own shoes instead. Transfiguration was one of her best subjects after all.
She sat down at a bench near the edge of the rink, pulled out her wand, and quickly transfigured her shoes into a pair of roller skates. It had been a while since she had actually tried this out, let's see how balanced she'd be. Slowly, she got up and pushed herself onto the smooth surface of the rink. She felt a little wobbly but soon took longer strides as she felt more confident skating.

Minerva had made her way towards the roller rink. She had helped with this idea and wanted to see how it was going, plus she really wanted to go roller skating. She hadn't been in so long and just wanted to have some fun. As she stood at the table she second guessed whether she should even do it. Was it safe? She really couldn't afford to fall, but she was an expert skater on wheels as well as ice. So this shouldn't be to hard. Grabbing a pair of the roller blades she sat down and put them on leaving her sandals off to the side so they wouldn't get lost.
Standing up she gt her balance before seeing Wade, "Hey Kitty!" She beamed at him. "Having fun?" She wouldn't be able to stay over to long since she would have to get back to the Gnomes, but for now the break was nice.
As she moved out on the rink she smiled as the skating seemed to natural. It was nice to be going around the circle. The music was a happy beat as well and soon she was humming along as she continued to skate until a familiar red head was right in front of her. Speeding up a bit she got next to the girl, "Hey Broni" She gave the seventh year a friendly smile. "How are you doing?" She was actually glad to see the girl again. She had wanted to see her before Durmstrang left, she had been the only one Min had really trusted. Even if Mischa was being nice when she talked to him she still didn't fully trust him.

Generally, Elodie was avoiding every bit of social interaction that she possibly could, and had been for a month or two. Talking to people only happened when it came to classes, or if she wanted food and was too lazy to move from the common room, or her dorm. So, Hufflepuffs mainly. And they got tiring after a while, so silence had taken its cutesy little way with her.
Until now. Where she gathered some sort of fresh air would be good for her, and she supposed she could handle conversations with a few people. Choice people. Important people. Those she could actually stomach. Countable on fingers, even.
Skaaaaaaaaaates though! Whee. She would head over and get food in a little bit. Probably if a friend turned up with an appetite. Just sayin'. She sat herself down first, to put the ORANGE roller skates on her feet and started to tie the laces up.

Gripping the wall tightly as he felt his legs stop to wobble he turned a little sideways to greet Sophia trying not fall over. "I'm trying to skate actually." Pointing towards the skates on his feet he continued. "I haven't skated in years. Thought I'd see if I still could. I remember that it was fun." Gesturing towards the skates and blades by the rink side Leo said "You should join me and skate." Please pretty please? He needed someone to stop him from injuring himself too much.

Hearing Wade's worried tone Leo waved to him in reassurance. "I'm all right Wade. Just quite haven't gotten the hang of it yet." Easing his grip from the wall he stood on the rink and flexed his arms a little before he felt he had some balance. Leo glanced over to the head boy again. "I used to skate when I was little and thought it was fun"
Roller skating! Kace hasn't done this in ages. He saw the rink and knew it was calling his name. He approached the booth and got a pair of skates. He strapped them on and then tested them out. The wheels felt good. The didn't seem to stop or be rusty. He walked cautiously onto the roller rink and then realized how easy it was. He saw some professors gripping onto the rails and he smiled because he used to be that way.
He skated into the center with ease. He then started to skate around the rink like it was a piece of cake. It was more like ice skating except on the ground with wheels. He wondered if he could try skating backwards......
As she moved out on the rink she smiled as the skating seemed to natural. It was nice to be going around the circle. Gaining more confidence with every stride of her skating, Bronislava moved her way around the circular rink, weaving in and out of people, and keeping a steady pace. This was actually fun and she would have to admit that she was having quite the good time. Even the music was fun and upbeat, and she moved her body to the rhythm as she continued skating, a smile plainly evident on her face.
She soon became aware of a figure near her person and she moved over slightly to allow the individual to pass. But it seemed that that was not the person's intentions. Keeping her same pace, the girl turned her head slightly as she heard another girl greet her. "Hello, Minerva," she smiled a bit more brightly than was usual for her. "I'm doing vell," she admitted. The competition, among other things, might not have turned in her favor, but she had to admit that right now she was having a good time. "Zhis is quite fun, no?" She continued skating next to the blonde girl, then added, "And how are you?"

Minerva smiled as she continued to skate with ease. She was really enjoying herself. Shaking her head as she she smiled towards Broni, "Please call me Min or Minnie. It's what I'm really use to around here." No need for her to use full name unless she wanted to. Min didn't mind her name really. She was glad the girl was doing well, "That's good. Are you glad all the competition stuff is over? You did great on the last task from what I heard." Since she was a part of it as well, Min didn't really know, but Broni was smart she figured it was easy for her.
That was great to hear, [b] "I'm glad you are enjoying it. The student leaders will be happy to know that everyone has fun at their last event."[/b Last.. she was beginning to hate that word and frowned a bit. "I bet your excited to head home though, aren't you?" She figured they'd be leaving soon. Her hand moved across her as she took the curve of the rink, "Oh.. I'm doing well. Just enjoying my last moments here." It was going quicker and quicker wasn't it. "It was great getting to meet you this term." She always enjoyed making new friends and she considered Broni a friend now, hoping the girl felt the same.

To say the least.

I don't want to have to accompany the students in laughing at you if you plop unto your behind skating."

Leo's ears got really hot as he heard what Sophia said to Wade. Apparently he wasn’t only amusing her but also the student’s. Oh well maybe it was his fate to amuse even if he today and in this moment only wanted to have some fun. He let Sophia pull him out onto the middle of the rink hesitantly. With his eyes fixed on her he let out a long breath trying to relax. "Centre of gravity. That’s easier said than done."
He pulled his hand out of Sophia's grip and tried to find his balance. When he was certain he wasn't going to fall over he tried to skate a few meters away from his best friend. Over his shoulder he called with a wink to Sophia. "If I land on my behind I expect you to come to my rescue."
Feeling his confidence rising he skated off around the rink away from Sophia.
Didn't the prefects already do an event this term this term or did he imagine that? No, he didn't. They totally did and he wasn't too keen on going to the first one, so subjecting himself to part two wasn't appealing to him in the slightest, yeah?
S'not like he had much of a choice though. He had to show his face and all, the adoring public demanded it. Least, that's what he assumed 'cause who wouldn't wanna see these perfect features? That was the question.
The fifth year lugged himself down to the event and watched from the sidelines as each of his peers and some of his professor indulged in roller skating.
Brodie walked up with a nervous chuckle to himself, he'd tried this once... And there was a reason for it only being once, but hey, he only had a little time left at Hogwarts so why not spend the last of it having fun and making a bit of a fool of himself since he wasn't going anywhere anytime soon. Just at home with his parents with no universities accepting him, not that he could afford to go anyways... But he grabbed a pair of skates figuring he could at least try the muggle way.
He slipped the shoes on and went out to the rink already slipping. He laughed as he fell and looked around with a shrug as he stood up again, trying again. He Nearly fell again but he held his balance and tried to go slowly, surely it wouldn't kill him to try the muggle way a couple more times before he just took the easy way out. He slowly tried again and though he wobbled. He smiled weakly, actually having fun, though he knew he probably looked like a fool.

WELL! Did she not want an excuse to let go of a book?! Yes, she did. She's been seeing lots of books which would be a very good and reassuring thing had she been studying the entire time in which she made physical contact with a book. But who cared yeah? There was this cool event going on outside and she couldn't just NOT be there, could she? Pretty sure one or two were gonna wonder where she was. Or so she hoped.
Picking what to choose was one of the things that brightened her mood and lightened it up. Such a comforting thing to do. And it did take more time that her revising the properties of that last plant. Eeeh, who had time for that.
As she got to the event she saw that MANY were already there. Good, she liked seeing people. Her eyes swept around trying to decide where she wanted to go first. Hmm. Her eyes were drawn to the rink immediately. THAT would be fun right!? She could using some strength and doing physical activities. And so there she headed.
Cassia grabbed a pair of skates, purple ones. Now to put them on. WAS THAT ELODIE?! Yuup. Automatically, the snake headed over to the fellow fifth year and plopped down next to her. "Hey, Elodie," she greeted her with a smile and her eyes looked around searching for Gemini immediately. Was the lazy cute cat around?
"Do you have experience with this?" she asked curiously skipping the 'how are you' part. That was lame and she sort of expected the answer with the exams nearing. Let's not ruin the jolly atmosphere. And here's to hoping Elodie knew more about skating than Cassia did.

CRISS CROSSED THE TREE TRYING TO CATCH ME.
Elodie? Yes. Yes that was her name. And it had been for many years now. Over a decade. She looked beside her and grinned at Cassia, before wiggling her nose in some form of 'hello', seeing as her hands were preoccupied with tying her laces, and her brain was too busy reciting the rhyme in her head. Sure, this thing came easily to most people, and Els was sure she could do it without the rhyme if she tried, but she liked the rhyme, and it wasn't like she was saying it out loud.
BUNNY EARS BUNNY EARS JUMPED INTO THE HOLE, POPPED OUT THE OTHER SIDE BEAUTIFUL AND BOLD.
She was beautiful. But not a bunny. She didn't have funny ears. BUT she did wiggle her nose. And because she was thinking about it, Cassia got a SECOND nose wiggle. "Hiiiiiiiiiiiii!" Cassia had purple skates. A super nice purple, actually. Elodie should have gotten purple.
"A little? I've fallen over twice before though." Bruises and all sorts! "Have you? Are you an expert, Cassia?" OR WAS CASSIA GOING TO FALL?!?!!

Sitting on the ground wasn't one of the most comfortable things to experience or spend lots of time doing. Her….rear was going to feel numb in a bit but she ignored that for now. She wasn't going to be sitting for long, just until she put on and tied her skates. She took off her sandals, put them aside then wiggled her toes in preparation to shoving them into the roller skates thinking that wearing socks would have been more comfortable. But that wasn't going to stop here from skating. Nope. Nothing was.
Sitting side to side with Elodie, Cassia grinned back at her and the wiggling of the nose. That was a way of greeting, y'know! The snake could totally get it. Especially when hands were occupied. Cassia had her own way of greeting without hands, her eyes would probably do all the thing. Fluttering her eyelashes for example.
And Elodie did know about this a bit. Comforting. "I wouldn't say an expert," she told her tying up the laces on the right foot. "But I'd last for a good while before losing my balance," like if someone nudged her or if she lost focus. "It's gonna be fun, yeah?" she beamed at the badger before turning back to her left foot.
With both feet laced up, she stretched them before her shaking them a bit as she leaned back on her hands. "You ready?" she winked at her companion. They were going to skate together, weren't they? She thought so. YAY!

She watched with bated breath as Leo pulled away from her, he looked a bit wobbly at first to her but then he seemed to actually find his centre of gravity. Good going Leo!
"Well it's my job as your bestfriend to do so. Come..skate with me." She skated over to him and offered her hand.

In all honesty, Alec was a little hesitant about this. He wasn't exactly... great at this. Balancing on a broom was a lot easier than balancing on one of these. His grey-blue eyes scanned the area quickly and, upon seeing no sight of the girlfriend, let out a sigh of relief. He was NOT going to embarrass himself in front of someone he knew so well. Even if there was Curly Wade and Minnie there. HEY CURLY AND WHEATY.
... And... he was here. Yeah. Which only meant that he had to CHOOSE a shoe type. Frowning a little, Alec scanned the selection before picking up a pair of roller skates, only because they seemed to be a bit... easier to skate around in? Yeah, he was going to go with that. Easier. Frankly, the other one looked a bit scary with the wheels down the middle.
Heading over towards an empty bench, the boy sat down and strapped on the roller skates. He wiggled his feet around to try and get a feel of them before standing up. ... Yeah... he regretted this. A lot. How were people able to skate around in these--
... WHOA. Hold the snitch. Was that...?
... She looked familiar. Astro girl...? Probably good friend of Adrienne, the one who hated him and his lame jokes. But that wasn't what he was concentrating on. Instead, he was concentrating on her shoes and the fact that she was skating around in BOTH types of shoes provided. BLINK. He didn't think that was even possible but... How was she doing that?!
Questions flooded the seventeen year old's mind. There was no way he was going to get answers by just standing there, wobbling on his roller skates. Reaching over towards the wall, he started pulling himself along towards her. After a while, his fingertips began to hurt but... that didn't matter. He was too curious to just... let this opportunity slip out of his hands. So... he was skating. Towards the girl. HE WAS SKATING with the use of the wall! Was anybody seeing this?
"How are you doing that?!" he asked, seemingly coming out of nowhere. Yeah... not creepy.

Alright, alright! She was juuust getting the hang of this skating with two different skates sort of thing. Picking up speed now... and WHOA CAREFUL! She reflexively reached out to grab the wall, but was soon pushing right back off (a bit slower) to try again. As she skate-bladed about the rink, she laughed with the professors who were having such a hard time on just one kind of skate. Not that she was by any means agile on two. She was about to skate over to see if she could help when she heard a voice right behind her.
"Oh, piskey sting!" she shouted, using Gram's second favorite curse (second favorite only to "billywig rot", popular in Tora's vocabulary as well). She swing her arms and slipped backwards over her right (rollerblade) foot before remembering that her left foot (the roller skate) was sturdier and plopping on her butt. As she righted herself, she grabbed onto her assaulter's shoulder to maintain balance and felt her easily aroused temper spike. "Well, I'm obviously not doing it anymore," she snapped before growling "What'd you do that for anyway?!"
Once she actually regained an upright position, realized who she was talking to, and how badly they seemed to be skating, she grinned and crossed her arms. Just to prove that she didn't need them for balance. She tilted her head back and looked up at the... sixth year? Maybe seventh she wasn't sure. Older student anyway, and restated her question a bit nicer. "You need some help with skating? Why don't you try two different kinds?" she was smiling though she was still a bit curious as to why (among EVERYONE there) no one else had bothered to try two different kinds of skates.
Oh Leo..he was adorable wasn't he? As far as a grown man being adorable got anyways. She didn't put up with a lot of foolishness from other people but Leo was special..he was her bestfriend after all.
"Not really...just relax Leobald."
She watched with bated breath as Leo pulled away from her, he looked a bit wobbly at first to her but then he seemed to actually find his centre of gravity. Good going Leo!
"Well it's my job as your bestfriend to do so. Come..skate with me." She skated over to him and offered her hand.
To have Sophia smiling and laughing was good even if it was at his expense. He knew she meant him nothing ill by it. Leo skated a lap around the rink knowing full well that Sophia was watching him like a hawk. He met Sophia halfway as she suggested that they'd skate together
Taking her hand Leo said "Only if you promise to let go of my hand if you see me start to wobble uncontrollably. I don’t want to take you down too if I fall."

... Oops.
The boy grimaced. He wasn't MEANT to make her fall over like that. Not at all! He was just meant to come up to her and ask her a simple question about the mix and match action that was going on with her shoes. And yet... FROWN. He held onto her, though, using the wall to steady the two of them. ... Alec... had a lot of questions, especially about 'oh piskey sting'. He was used to hearing a lot of curses and phrases but if there was one thing he hadn't heard, it was 'oh piskey sting'.
... BLINK. BLINK.
It was obvious to the seventeen year old that this girl was friends with Adrienne. Or, at least, he was sure they'd get along, if they didn't know each other already. Maybe he could give her a heads up about it and introduce them to each other. Maybe. If they didn't end up going against him and planning his downfall. "I... I didn't mean..." His voice faltered. ... No! Strong man wizard. Yeah. Clearing his throat, he continued, "I didn't do it on purpose!" Would the puppy dog eyes work on her...?
... And now he was confused? Why? Because angry girl was not grinning. He was curious to know exactly why she was grinning at him like that. Not that he minded if it was anything nice but... if it wasn't... "I probably do..." ... Wait... WHAT?! Two different kinds?! His complexion paled. "Are you kidding me? I can't even manage one kind of shoes," he said, motioning at the roller skates strapped onto his feet, "Two seems..." He looked down at her shoes and gulped. "... more than difficult."
One thing was for certain, though; he could throw the idea of coming across as cool out of the window.
Keeping a steady pace, Bronislava glanced quickly at the girl next to her as she spoke, keeping her focus on the rink and people around them as she skated. "Oh.. alright, Min-nie," she tentatively tried out. She herself wasn't big on nicknames, but if that's what the other girl wanted to be called, she could comply. She continued skating beside her, silent for a moment as she thought over her words. "I suppose," she began, trying not to let her emotions show. She thought she had done fairly well in her own task, the one where she was in direct competition with Minerva, but even if she had won that task with Vilhelm, it was very unlikely that her school had won the entire thing. And she had desperately needed that to happen. "I'm sure you and Wade did quite vell also. Vhat did you zhink of it?" She was genuinely curious to hear the other girl's thoughts, common ground conversation as it were.
She smiled a little more as the conversation continued. "It is fun so far. Vhat else is around?" Once she was done skating, she wondered what else she could do. Maybe get something to eat? "Oh.. you are a studnet leader, no? You helped planned zhis? It all seems very nice." She had to admit that it seemed like a fun little get-together/celebration as it were. Veering to the side slightly to take the turn around the edge of the rink, she nodded at Minerva's words. "I am glad to be leaving, actually. I've gotten rather homesick," she admitted with a soft shrug. "I am a bit sorry to not have spent my last year at my home school." She thought at the time it might be worth it, but now that they had failed miserably, she wasn't so sure. Bronislava couldn't help but to smile at the girl's next words, however. "Zhat's very kind. I vas glad to have met you as vell. You have always been so velcoming." Even when others were not.
