| | of Professor Melanie Roman The office is located in a small hut near the paddock where lessons take place. Please knock on the door and gain permission before entering. When you've entered, if Professor Roman is busy with another student, there is a mint green sofa and matching armchair for you to sit on or, if you'd rather, the wicker armchair with bright pink floral upholstery. In the center is a coffee table, complete with sweet bowl. You'll find all kinds in there, from chocolates to peppermints.
Beyond the little seating area is a desk with a tall, black, rolling chair that Professor Roman occupies. On the desk are photos of her family and on the walls, photos of creatures that Roman snapped herself. On the wall directly behind the desk, hangs Roman's diploma from WU. Otherwise, the office is plainly decorated.
Feel free to take a seat and enjoy some treats until Professor Roman can be with you. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Adrienne Rebecca Colbert Seventh Year | The Last of Her Kind Adrienne approached Professor Roman's hut somewhat warily. She hadn't taken Care of Magical Creatures last year, so she wasn't particularly familiar with the area, and she was just a little bit afraid that she was going to open the wrong door and find herself face-to-face with an angry hippogriff or something. So when she got to the door, she hesitated for a moment, put her ear to it and listened for any ominous-sounding noises, and when she heard nothing she knocked twice on the door, firmly. When there were no immediate howls or growls, she relaxed a bit, and tried to put on the kind of smile that would make the professor like her, and, thereby, give her good grades.

Professor Roman sat behind her desk amid many small stacks of paper. On the one nearest her, she was scribbling notes as she looked off of, and ruffled through, the others. She wasn't expecting a knock on her door, but was absolutely delighted when she heard it. "Come in," she called as she finished her sentence. The door was unlocked.

"Come in," she called as she finished her sentence. The door was unlocked. Adrienne smiled. So far, so good, no vicious monsters behind that door (unless they could perfectly imitate Professor Roman's voice, and that was highly unlikely). She entered the office cautiously, still, taking in the simple but pretty decoration and the rather dynamic portraits of creatures on the walls. "I am sorry to bother you," Adrienne said. She wasn't really sorry to bother her, but that was kind of what one was expected to say when the person you're bothering looks busy, "I just wanted to say hello and welcome to Hogwarts, and introduce myself. My name is Adrienne Colbert, I am a second year Ravenclaw." There, was that everything? She suddenly remembered the slight weight in her pockets. "Oh, and I was wondering if you would like a peppermint toad?" she asked, holding one out. It was only then that she noticed the small bowl of candy on the table near the couch, and she lowered her hand slightly, not sure whether to say anything- no, she abstained. Best not make things awkward.

She put her quill in her inkwell to show that she was finished with whatever she was working on...for now, at least, and that the student had her undivided attention.
Adrienne Colbert. "Nice to meet you, Adrienne. Thank you very much." It was more of a welcome back, but she understood her point. "That's very kind of you."
The toad, however..."No, thank you. You can take anything you want from that bowl over there, though." Professor Roman pointed to the sweet bowl by the couch. She wasn't going to take candy off of students. However, she was fine with her students leaving her office with their pockets heavier or energy higher.

"I'm glad to hear," Adrienne said, smiling tightly. She wasn't entirely sure what to say, now, so she glanced around the office for a moment, taking in photographs and paperwork piled on the desk. She bit her lip and looked back at the professor, trying to think of something, conversation-wise. "So, euh, were you a student here as well, or did you learn magic somewhere else?" Perhaps not the most creative thing she could have said, but at least it was something, and it wasn't something offensive, as often managed to jump out of her mouth unintentionally. "Oh, thank you!" Adrienne wasn't one to refuse candy, so she grabbed a chocolate frog and a Drooble's and shoved them back into her pocket, along with the peppermint toad. Any professor who had a bowl of candy for students was probably a pretty good professor, and honestly, Adrienne was pretty excited for Care of Magical Creatures. It would likely be a pretty fun class!

She gave a nod. "You're welcome." After a pause, watching the girl pocket the candy, she continued, "Anything I can help you with Adrienne?" Melanie wasn't kicking the girl out, necessarily, just wondering if she had any further purpose of visiting today.

Melanie wasn't kicking the girl out, necessarily, just wondering if she had any further purpose of visiting today. "Oh, I see," Adrienne said. Hufflepuffs weren't that bad, usually, and she was glad that at least one of her professors was going to have been in a cool house. It would be better if she'd been a Claw, of course, but at least she wasn't a Snake or Lion. "No, I think that is all," she said, grabbing one more piece of chocolate before she headed towards the door. Contrary to popular belief, she could actually take a hint, and it seemed like Professor Roman probably had something more important to be doing right then. Like... actual work. Instead of talking to a candy-hungry student. "I look forward to being in your class!" Adrienne called at the door, before closing it quickly and heading out. The fake smile dropped from her face within a second, and she was her usual somewhat sulky self as she headed back towards the castle.
