An old moving tapestry depicts Barnabas attempting to train trolls for the ballet. Don't laugh too hard, now; the tapestries' occupants are easily offended.

So Mo had made it back to his dorm and shed his winter wear before leaving his pinhole camera tucked safely under his bed in the dark until he had time to develop the photo paper properly. Only once he was back in just a jumper - no coat or hat or gloves this time, Mo tromped out to a place halfway between the Gryffindor and Ravenclaw common rooms.

He seated himself on the floor near the tapestry and passed the time waiting by pulling on various strings and trying to see if any came loose. The trolls in the tapestry were NOT amused and called him very ugly names.

"Jumpers aren't summer clothing and you brought no sunscreen, genius."

But it was okay, Alice had enough sunscreen for BOTH of them.

"Take your jumper off. And then.. here." She nudged a bottle of sunscreen at him. "Squirt this at me. Get skin." Was there a window nearby? For harnessing sunlight? While waiting for him to shed his jumper, she wandered around the area in search of one.

There! Window. The sixth year went and stood by it expectantly, shooting Mo exasperated looks. He was so slowww.

Mo was an obedient little Ravenclaw as he pulled off his sweater and pushed up the sleeves of the t-shirt he wore underneath. She was lucky there wasn't a West nearby, considering she was ordering him out of his own shirt. And considering she wanted him to put on sunscreen.

Just on him, right? Not on her? He spread the stuff liberally over his upper and lower arms before tossing the bottle back at her. "You want me to cast the spell at your skin? Are you mad?" He hoped she wasn't crazy, because he was willing to do it. Sigh sigh sigh sigh sigh. "Solis Focalis."

Oh, Cactus. Was he deaf? "I said squirt it on ME. Me. Alice. Here." She caught the bottle and lathered some sunscreen onto herself, since he was seemingly incapable of it, and then waited for him to cast sunlight at her.

"It's not crazy, it's creative. Would you just-"

There. Finally. It made her skin feel a bit hot, but it was essentially fine. "We're testing the effects of sunlight on sunscreen. Making sure it blocks the UV rays and whatnot. Your turn?" She wiggled out of the way of the sunlight, then pushed him into a good position near the window and performed the spell herself.

... did that work? Was he screaming in pain? Yes? No? Maybe?

She was being mean, which meant... she was punishing him for what happened outside, since she couldn't punish herself or West. He let her verbally assault him, politely averting his eyes as she rubbed in the sunscreen and then turning back in interest once she was impacted by the spell. Seemed like a good test, since he was SURE it should cause at least minor burning and skin irritation.

Clever girl, that Alice.

He took his place. "You're mad if you think I'd put sunscreen on you. After that... outside with the camera..." He fell silent as the sunlight hit his arm. Warm, but not unpleasant. If it WAS a perfect test, then they'd proven the sunscreen effective. "It worked."
