The driver and snack lady sit waaaaaay up front in the driver's cab, but there are plenty of other compartments up here! Careful you don't sit in the Prefects' cab though. They bite.
As soon as the train had pulled up, Kaiden made his way onto it. He had already said his goodbyes to his family, and he wasn't interested in getting caught up with anybody. Stowing his luggage, he headed to the front of the train, where it would hopefully be quieter.
All he had brought with him upfront was Toad in his cage, so no stupid cats could get at him, stupid Alexa, and his pillow. He passed several empty compartments until he found the right one. Setting the cage down beside him, he put his pillow in the corner and leaned against it. He still had his hood up, and his glasses on. That would mean no one would bug him right?

Stowing his trunk in the luggage compartment, the fifteen-year old strolled down the corridor to the front of the train. He had no problem finding an empty compartment since the train was still relatively empty. People really hadn't started to board yet.
He sat next to the window, his blue eyes bright with excitement. Hogwarts in a few hours.. he could hardly wait.
Adelaide walked onto the train with Oreo in tow. He'd at least seemed to quiet down in his cage for now. She had full plans of letting him sit on her lap once she found a compartment. Well, that was if everyone else in the compartment was okay with it.
The place was still pretty empty meaning it wouldn't be too hard to find herself a seat. She was about to walk past a compartment with a single occupant when she noticed Stan. Might as well sit with someone she knew right? She opened the door. "Hey. Mind if I join you?"
After losing Jinx once again Kahlan had spent the last 10 or so minutes running up and down the train trying to find the small cat, and finally now she spotted it in a compartment at the front of the train.
So the first thing she did was glare at the cat, huffing in annoyance as she flopped down onto the seat next to the cat.
"Why do you always have to be so difficult?" she asked the cat, which innocently licked its poor before standing and moving to curl up on her lap meowing in the way that it always did when it wanted it's fur to be stroked.
And so the blonde did, despite being annoyed at herself for listening to the cat again. But of course it seemed to think that it was in charge and she wasn't going to have it run off again so she figured it would be a compromise between the two of them. One where she was doing all the compromising.
She was a senior now. No one really cares about fourth years but fifth years just... oozed importance. Everyone was starting to look up to her and she was at the appropriate height, thanks to her mild growth spurt, to be able to look down. It felt good.
After ditching her trunk, Blue kinda just wandered through the train, occasionally fidgeting with her outfit or her hair. After walking for probably a while, though it didn't feel that way, she just slid open a door to an empty carriage and flopped onto one of the benches, kicking her feet up. She'd left her book in her trunk but it was cool - Cassia was bound to find her in no time. The pair had a magnetic draw.

Still, it was BORING having to wait.
Hurry up, child. Hurry up.
The train ride was kinda long and you don't stick to one place. You get bored. Those were the snake's rules. Besides, she liked to say 'Hi's to those whom she didn't catch at the platform. Not that she wouldn't say hi to those she already saw. She practically said hi to everyone. Marching from the back cars to the front ones, the blond looked so pleased. Yeah, she was fifteen and life was so good now. Where was the other half of Clue again?
Not this compartment, and not this. THIS! Spotting her Eaglette, Cassia picked up her pace and slid into the carriage with a grin on her face.
"Hey! She said plopping down next to her. "Couldn't find you on the platform," Cassia had been there for long and she saw lots of people.
Dropping her bag to the floor, she leaned back in her seat and crossed her leg across the other.
"So. what's the plan?" For the term you know. They needed a strategy. Like always. Though, this one would be updated and different from the others due to lots of stuffs. The Ravenclaw would know about that.

Bristol was just wandering, planning to find Dee or Forrest when she was HER. Through the window, she spotted the girl that had hissed at her and Dee on the platform. It had scared the life out of her sister, but she'd chosen to ignore it. Because things that scare people were silly and deserved to be ignored. Now, though, she realised that .. she knew the older girl. IT WAS CASSITHIA. And she was about to get a Bristol, she decided as she opened the carriage door, maybe with a little more force than necessary.
"YOU."
Did that sound scary?
She was grinning. There was nothing to fear.
"And hellooooo," to the other girl in the carriage. Sorry to barge in like that. Except she wasn't really that sorry. Nope. "I'm Bristol," she explained and gave the not!Cassia girl a grin, before turning back to her hissing friend. "It was YOU that hissed at me and Dee on the platform. You scared Dee so much. You should apologise, I thinks." She nodded firmly, before adding, "I didn't mind though, it was just a bit of fun." She'd still ignored her, though. Because pride and all of that.
After securing his trunk, Forrest was drenched in sweat. It wasn't that hot, but dragging a big heavy trunk was too tiring for a twelve-year-old, ill-thin boy. He was panting and he had to drag himself to the closest compartment. He barely looked inside to see it was empty, and plopped down the seat.
This train needed someone elder to help with trunks.

Sarah had decided to store her trunk in the luggage compartment this time around, and had packed a carry-on bag for herself. She had just plopped down in a seat herself when she noticed little Forrest come in. He was thin like her,as Sarah hid her strength well.
"Hiya doing Forrest?" she beamed. This kid was cute. "What were you carrying in that trunk? Rocks or books?" He was a guy so shoes would not be an option. Sarah's trunk was also weighed down with books, luckily once she got to Hogwarts she could levitate it around. "do you think the houseelves will be there at Hogwarts?"

Okay, maybe Forrest wasn't so alone in the compartment.
He opened his eyes and saw a beaming girl. Ooooooh, he remembered her! She was--Sarah!--from the previous train ride.
He smiled back. Because it was only polite.
"I'm fine," he panted, but he didn't have the energy to smile any further. "Books 'n' clothes." He was lucky his arms didn't break while he dragged it. It carried a whole year's stuff. "That's what the Headmistress promised." He knew the girl, but he was still shy around her.

He was fine? Good. Although in Sarah's opinion being fine only meant that your heart was beating and you were breathing and stuff, which he was doing, although heavily.
Sarah nodded. "I would love to help you get it off the train if you would like" the fifteen year old said.
The previous term Sarah would not have taken the headmistresses words to heart, yet she had been working on herself over the summer and was going to try include the headmistress in the people to be judged favourably. plus, the headmistress was an adult which meant they were wiser and Sarah had to respect that. "It would be great if they are, yet I am usd to not having houselves at home and at Hogwarts we can use magic so we can manage without them. Of course I would not mind them being there and stuff." Another smile. "by the way, have you asked your parents why they named you Forrest? You now sort of suit it, yet Forrest is still unique"

Forrest certainly wasn't expecting the help offer, and he could smile thankfully, now that he was rested a little. "Thanks," he said, and fanned himself with his hand. It was HOT in here, no? He was slightly annoyed how he was so weak, but he decided to think about it later. For now, he had to focus on Sarah. His mother had said it was rude to think about something else while people talked to him.
He eyed her curiously. He hadn't had any elf before to know how it was with them, but even he missed them greatly. It sucked to clean, do laundry and wash plastic cups. But he wasn't going to argue with her. He knew she was an older Gryffindor. Gryffindors were not to be argued with.
"Erm..." What was he supposed to say? "I hope we don't have the turnstiles..." Yeeeeah, that didn't sound confident at all. Hmm.
Confidence and muscles. He was going to have those by the end of the term.
The back compartments tend to be most popular. People are always running back and forth right outside the middle ones. The safest compartments, if you don't want to be found, are the front ones. Unless you're a prefect or desperate for an empty one, no one really bothers with the front five it seemed. And people wouldn't walk past, because there wasn't really anywhere to GO.
Head down, scowling, Aidan slipped into one of those compartments. Attempting to lay low, he snapped the door closed behind him and drew the shade. Then he threw himself into a seat by the window.
Now to stick it out and keep anyone from bothering him until they got to Hogwarts.

Faylinn was bored.
There was nothing to do on this old train and she had yet to see anybody she knew, so she had taken it upon herself to find someone to talk to. Now, Fay usually wasn't this open about meeting knew people, but she knew she wasn't going to make any friends hiding away in her compartment in the back of the train. And to switch things up, Faylinn marched the entire length of the train through the corridor up to the front and threw open the first door she came across actually she played enie meanie minnie mo

"Hello!"
The Fourth year's head swiveled to face the door as soon as it opened. How stupid of him. He should have sat by the door and kept it pulled closed. At least the 'she' who opened it wasn't one of the 'shes' who he was avoiding. Still, someone was disturbing his peace and ruining his solitude, so Aidan glared at them.
And surveyed them some. Young. Peppy. Nothing to indicate House on their body. First year? "Prefect's compartment's down some." They're who she was looking for, right? She needed help or something? In any case, they're who she should bother and leave him alone.

Stan was staring out the window, a small smile playing around the corners of his lips when he heard someone open the door. "Adelaide!" Stan grinned and stood up. It was nice to see her again.
"Of course not!" Stan thought about giving her a hug.. but decided against it. They didn't know each other that well, after all. Instead, he just continued smiling at her. He just hoped she didn't start to blush or something, like she did when he'd smiled at her before. THAT had been kind of.. awkward.

Finally! This train was here. With her trunk safely stowed away in the luggage area, Schuyler only held her orange kitten against her shoulder as she ambled past the compartments in the very front of the train. Kitty was going to shed on her shirt, of course. BUT, that was the way it was with a cat, right? And her adorableness completely outweighed the small nuisance of having to clean the fur off her clothes and things.
She continued walking because now she was thinking that maybe she ought to sit in the middle cars? Hmm. That would be logical. If something interesting broke out in the back, or in the front, she'd be close enough to shoot up to the scene pretty fast. As long as she didn't end up sitting in the compartment with someone who was smelly, she'd be good to go.
Stan was staring out the window, a small smile playing around the corners of his lips when he heard someone open the door. "Adelaide!" Stan grinned and stood up. It was nice to see her again.

ANYWAY.
"How are you?"
Adelaide grinned back, willing the blush to stay away from her cheeks. So far so good on that one. As long as he didn't over compliment her. She let out a mental sigh of relief, glad she could sit with someone she knows. "Cool. Oh. You have no issue with cats right?" She motioned down to the cage carrying Oreo.
She continued to smile and shrugged. "All right. Same old, same old at my house. My parents trying to get me to stay at home and finish muggle schooling."
Brodie slowly picked out a compartment and sat his bag down on the ground, unfortunately unable to put it up on the rack with his arm in a sling. He sighed and leaned back against the seat. It wasn't likely that someone would join him anyways. So with that and having to keep his legs up anyways, he put them on the seat across for him, fighting a small gasp of pain.
Sarah hoped he would take up the offer. See, even if she did not get a badge yet she could still help and stuff. Besides, helping others set off a positve chemical reaction in ones brain and made them happy... unless that was just propaganda her father made up.
Looking at Forrest's reaction, he did seem normal. He probably misunderstood what she said and thought that she did not like having elves around, which she did. But at the same time, when she thought positively, she thought that on the great scale of things, elves were an extra. Not that she would not want one herself.
On to turnstiles.. "I hope they are gone too... Due to the turnstiles by the Great Hall charging so much, I had to turn to other sources for nourishment and it turns out I was not getting the iron I needed and I got sick..." Sarah said nonchalantly. No big deal as she was a lion. "Looking forward to second year?" she asked

So... he needed someone to sit with. Someone. ANYONE.
Alec frowned a little as he headed down the corridor, his arms laden with the amount of junk food he had bought from the food trolley. He was a hungry, growing child, he needed a lot of food, yeah? Even if he wasn't going to be a child for much longer. He still needed food! And he was still growing, much to the dismay of his girlfriend. Probably.
He tilted his head and looked into each compartment he walked past, a couple of items in his arms threatening to fall on the floor of the corridor. Man, he needed to find a compartment soon! Otherwise all of this was going to fall everywhere and, being friends with people like Tag and on talking terms with Penelope told him enough that this... was just going to be a waste of good food.
After a couple of minutes that seemed to stretch on, the sixth year finally stopped outside an empty compartment. AWESOME. He struggled with the handle for a while before pulling it open and heading inside. The junk food cascaded out of his arms and fell with a heap on an empty seat before Alec headed over towards the seat near the window and sat down.
... Okay. If he wasn't going to be joined by anyone... could he have a mini feast? Even if it was on his own?

It never did take her long to load up all of her things, seeing how she usually got help with it all, though it DID take a while to work her way around the group of first years blocking her path, which was weird now since the smaller bunch usually moved aside for her, but the train made stuff like that hard now. It would be easier to move around once she was back at Hogwarts and in her proper house robes, and not walking around looking like a Slytherin. A well dressed Slytherin, but that was besides the point.
Or the exact point. Dora was always well dressed.
Finally making it to the front of the train, after making a quick stop to the trolley, the fifth year glanced into each compartment casually, looking for friends. Specific friends no, as she assumed two of her favorites would be in the prefect compartment, anyone would do now.
"I like the shirt." She said to the new girl who didn't look all that young, passing her as she peeked into another compartment. Dora approved of all floral print wear. She also approved of Cass and Blue being in one compartment. "Watch out for first years, they'll ruin it with sticky fingers." Just a suggestion. Dora was so helpful.
She didn't spare the girl much more of a glance as she opened the compartment that held two of her friends, grinning at them in greeting. "Hey guys, make a new friend?" A small person type friend. She got a glance as Dora sat down across from her year mates. "Who are you?" Key information she needed to know.
Also.
"I stopped by the trolley."

Alec was just sitting there. Sitting there staring at the huge lump of junk food that was dumped next to him and pondering whether or not he should stay here or... try and find someone. His arms were a little tired, after all. And if someone wanted to come and find him, they would do so, right? Yeah?
Yeah. Of course!
He reached over and grabbed a packet of Bertie Botts from the top of the pile. It was just as he did so that he felt... something. Something in his HAIR. He reached up a hand and ran it through his hair. Why did his HAIR feel weird all of a sudden? Weird and powerful? As if it was about to embark on some sort of mission and... and...
... "CURLY WADE!"
He was standing there! RIGHT on the other side of the compartment door! Alec sat up and, grinning, waved enthusiastically back at the older Puff. He then motioned for the guy to come in, still keeping up his enthusiasm. Because LOOK! His hair ruffling buddy was here! How awesome was this? GRIN.
