SSRP: Piers and Leo... manly bonding or something

Merlin's sooooocks, he hadn't been to Hogsmeade in years. Had it really been over a decade? Ugh, he was totally making himself feel old. 30 years was a long time to live, you know.

Piers walked through the doors of the old pub and took a good look around. Not much had changed. Maybe a few new decorations here and there, but as far as he could tell, it was pretty much the same. Smelled the same, too. Was it weird that he noticed that? He also noticed that it wasn't very busy, but he assumed that was because most of the students that usually filled it were out fulfilling their summer plans elsewhere. He didn't mind it.

Hogsmeade in the middle of summer was very quiet without the chattering students filling every street. It didn't feel right. But Leo decided to view it as a blessing since soon enough his days would be full of student's running around his heels looking for books in the Hogwarts library.

Opening the door to the Three broomstick's the mop haired man walked in. He noted the lack of people in pub except for a man around his own age, but didn't think much about it. Heading up to the counter he ordered. "A butterbeer please?"

Hearing someone else enter the pub, he turned to see who it was. Not that he expected to recognize anyone. Ah, yes, he should order. "I'll take one too," he said to whoever was behind the counter.

Piers gave the newcomer a friendly nod and a "Hello there," before sitting on a stool at the counter and continuing to look around. Hmm, maybe he'd get some food, too...

Leo watched as the barman poured up his butterbeer. Leaning in beside him at the counter to also order a butterbeer was the man he had spotted earlier.

"Good day!" Leo greeted back with a friendly smile. Paying for his butterbeer he looked around for somewhere to sit. The other man chose to sit on a stool by the counter which didn't seem so bad. Catching the man's gaze Leo asked "Is the stool next to you taken?" Meaning was he waiting for someone?

Piers also payed for his drink while the barman filled up the glass. The other man seemed like a friendly enough chap, so he thought he'd let him sit there. "No, go right ahead." He was flying solo today.

And just for conversation's sake, "Good to know after all these years, some things just never change." He gestured to the pub in general. And the butterbeer that was now in front of him. Mmmm, good old butterbeer.

Leo sat down on the bar stool next to the other man who apparently even if it seemed so wasn’t waiting for anyone to arrive. Taking a sip of his cold butterbeer he murmered. "Just what I needed in this heat."

Letting his eyes drift around the pub’s wall he nodded. "Yes, it hasn’t changed much over the years. The smell is the same as when I first set my foot in here in my youth as a Hogwarts student on Hogsmeade weekends." Oh the nostalgia.

Piers took another long drink from his cold cup and nodded. "Definitely." He wasn't a fan of hot summers, so a refreshing drink was always a plus.

"I was thinking the same," he said with a small chuckle as he looked around. "Last I was here was ten years ago," he added, just as a side comment. He wondered what this guy's story was. Just reminiscing old times, too?

Peering around the bar as he took another refreshing swig from his cup Leo responded. "The nostalgia still strikes me sometimes even though I now work at Hogwarts." The man beside him hadn’t sat his foot in Hogsmeade for over 10 years.

"10 years is a long time. To which house did you belong in your school days?" Leo asked his curiosity shining through just a little as he turned to face the other man again. And more importantly what brought him back to Hogsmeade now?

Oh, he worked at Hogwarts, did he? Piers raised his eyebrows to that. "Is that right? What do you do?" To him... hmm, he looked like a History teacher. Just a guess.

"Slytherin," the brunette replied with a nod before another sip of his butterbeer. "And yourself?" Assuming he had gone here as a student.

Taking a sip of his butterbeer Leo looked up. "I’m the school librarian. Leobald Kitridge." He introduced himself, extending a hand for a shake. Going on what was it now 5 or 6 years in September since he’d accepted the librarian position at the school.

That was not the first house heäd had guessed the brown haired man would have belonged to. "I was a proud Ravenclaw in my day." Leo commented.

Ah, the librarian, was he? Interesting. "Pierson Fuller," he replied, shaking the man's hand. "Interestingly enough, I'm actually applying to teach Charms here this coming term." So maybe they would run into each other again in a few weeks. He was certainly hoping he'd get the job.

Piers nodded. "Good house," he commented. "I had housemates tell me that's where I should have gone," he added with a chuckle. But no, he was comfortable in Slytherin and always had been.

"Pleasure to meet you Piers," Leo chirped excitedly when he heard that the other man was applying for the vacant Charms position at Hogwarts. If Annie and the Governors approved of him they’d soon be colleagues and that in itself was exciting since he had a feeling that he could become fond of Piers. "Charms, it wasn’t one of my favourite subjects in school. Why do you like it?" He wondered as a memory past by in his head.

Grinning Leo asked. "Did the sorting hat want to place in you Ravenclaw but decided on Slytherin?" He had heard that the hat sometimes had trouble placing people and in some cases went with the person's wishes. It hadn’t been that way for him though he almost hadn’t put the hat on before it had declared his house in a loud voice.
