SSRP: Dance Floor

Not far from the long table of food is a large wooden dance floor, inviting all whose eyes glance over at it to come and dance. The music that's been in the background as you wandered through the tent suddenly fills you up when you step onto the floor. Want a new song? Just ask the floor politely and it will obliged you.

A rainbow of colors flicker across the floor, reflections of the enchanted balloons floating above. They're reachable to those taller than most, and easily summoned by others, and for good reason. These balloons aren't just for decorations, they also conveniently hold freebees for all the guests, generously donated by the many of the infamous wizard businesses such as these very shops in Diagon, WWN, and a few others. Take one for yourself and enjoy the surprise inside.

When Daichi had heard about the Board of Government Celebration he wasn't sure if he wanted to go. He had found the whole Government thing boring but maybe that was because he hadn't really paid much attention to it.

Not knowing what to expect, Daichi had not changed his clothes to something formal. He wore his yellow shirt with white stripes and red pants. His shoes were blue like the sunglasses on the top of his head. As he entered the tent the first thing he saw was ....a dance floor.

HE COULD BUST HIS MOVES IN HERE!

And a LARGE food table stood at the side! He grinned as he saw that no one was here yet and as he stepped on the dance floor the music started to play louder. But the song was not his thing...besides, he wanted to DANCE! and...he suddenly remembered that he didn't know any dances except...

"Floor! Chicken dance~!" he said to the floor since he knew that asking it it would change music. Nothing happened though and the Prefect pouted and sighed loudly. "Alright, please?" he added and the first tune of the chicken dance filled the room...or was it just for his ears?

Either way! Remembering what Professor Cerulean had taught them , Daichi began to dance like a pro.

Beak beak beak , Flap flap flap , wiggle wiggle.
He jumped to the left and Beak beak beak , Flap flap flap , wiggle wiggle.. Jump to the right
Beak beak beak , Flap flap flap , wiggle wiggle "ONE MORE TIME~!"

Gaaah he had loved this dance when they had learned it and he still did!

Mack had never been one to be shy when it came to dancing, she floated out onto the dance floor, even though only one other person seemed to be interested in dancing, she began to do a series of pirouettes to warm herself up, she had watched as a boy not too much older than she had done the chicken dance as she had heard him call it, she could only assume it was a muggle dance, because in her eight years of taking dance she had never heard of it. Once he had finished she decided that if she was going to dance now was her chance before the floor got too crowded. She continued doing pirouettes then a series of turns before a fan kick, she continued her dance until the song ended and she exited the dance floor quickly hoping she had not drawn too much attention to herself.

Erik led the way, or led Ivy, all the way to the dance floor. They had just missed the embarrassing antics of a boy doing the bird dance, or vhatever it was called, and a girl attempting ballet. Really it was a good thing he hadn't been watching the floor until now or he might not have wanted to dance at all, with those two on it.

"Apparently we can choose our own music," Erik murmured to Ivy as he swung her out onto the floor and into a hold. Did she have something tasteful in mind?

"You just have to ask the floor nicely," he gave Ivy a wink and the floor a look. "Vhat she said, please." A song that seemed tailored for Ivy started to play at his words...soft and slow, and a little bit jazzy, just like she'd asked.

Erik's brow contorted at the lyrics for a moment, but he pulled her in closer and started turning them on the spot anyway. Slowly.

The lyrics were... interesting. But she liked them, and the song as a whole, so far. Ivy followed his lead and danced slowly with him. Her eyes moved around the tent for a moment, watching some people. But then she reminded herself to relax, so she did and instead paid attention to Erik and the song.

"Are you glad it's all over?" he asked just loud enough for her to hear.

The previous song had sort of kept Ivy distracted the whole time. The next song was also good, but less distracting due to the fact that it had no lyrics. That was probably best.

Ivy met his icy blue gaze when he spoke. She nodded twice and spoke just loud enough for only him to hear. "Yes... I was getting tired of the debates." She figured he was speaking of a few things in general. Running for the Board and... other things. "And you? Now that we got what we wanted?" It was all definitely worth it.

Sonea had heard about a dance but she had no idea why the dance was given. Something about a government… She had really no idea what that was, she had probably missed the class on Hogwards where everything had been explained, she had missed the first period after all. But… Even now that she had no idea why the dance was given, she wanted to go and to make fun! She had problems at home and a dance was a good place to forget all the problems she had and to just being a normal little girl. She had asked her mother if she could go, and her mother had nodded to her, without asking any questions, as if she was not worried at all where her only child was. But Sonea didn’t worried about her mother’s reaction, she was only happy that she could go! She had been so excited to go to the dance that she almost had hugged her mother before she had ran away. She had brushed the fur from Little princess but said to her rat that she was not allowed to eat since she was already too fat and had chosen her most prettiest dress she had to wear. Her dress was pink, she wore cute, ret shoes and she had a red ribbon in her hair.

And now, a few hours later she entered the dance and looked excited around her, this was her first dance! “Look, Little princess” whispered Sonea and stared at all the people around her, searching for somebody she knew from school.

He gave her a real smile, even if it was for only a moment. "Everything we vanted. Yes." He was...kind of happy. He didn't even take affront to the word 'we' there...

Raven was not so interested in coming to this party. She was never really the life of a party, usually staying to the side and watching others. But her mother insisted that she go. This was about her new school, so her mother thought it would be good for her to congratulate the new governors. But please, she didn't even know the names of the new governors! But when she pointed THAT out, her mom said that that was even more reason to go. Then Raven used her last card, and that was that she didn't want to go to the party alone. So all her mom did was send her friends older sister to take her to the party.

So here she was with Jo-Jo, her friend's older sister. Jo-Jo had gone off to the food table, leaving Raven on the dance floor. She saw two kids dancing. Was one of them the prefect from the Alley? She also she two adults talking (More than likely about something BORING), and she just got this feeling that at least one of them was a governor.

Then there was a girl a little younger than her who looked almost the exact opposite of Raven. Unlike Raven - who wore a black highneck dress and cape - this girl wore a pink dress and red shoes. Plus, this girl looked like she actually WANTED to be here. The girl also looked somewhat familiar. Did she see her before? Raven watched the girl from a distance as she tried to determine.

But what if this girl was the girl with the rat? Raven didn't want her to think she was just following her all around, so she ducked behind the two boring adults.

In fact, she was so observed in watching the girl in pink that anyone on the dance floor could have crashed into her. Lucky there wasn't very many people here so far.

There was quite an interesting selection of people at this party so far. Some of these children seemed rather odd. And she and Erik would be governing them from now until... well, someday. But Ivy returned her attention to Erik again. He was much better to look at the strange children.

She smiled in return for a moment. "Good," she said simply. Everything had turned out the way he had planned, so far. That made Ivy pleased, too, which was a new thing for her.... being happy for someone else's success. It was partially her success, too though, so it made a little more sense.

It was about something that had been on his mind for a little while now, something he was curious to follow up on with Ivy..."Did you still mean vhat you said, vhen you said..." he hesitated with a small sigh, hating how awkward he sounded right now, "after all this is over, you vanted to get to know me better?" His blue eyes searched her multi-coloured ones for verification.

Erik was starting to feel fidgety under Ivy's gaze, fidgety and nervous awkward. He was never awkward or nervous but here he was, probably squeezing her hand too tightly as they danced. When she finally answered, he let out a tiny breath of relief...or something...and nodded slowly a few times.

"Okay," he remarked lightly. So that was good, then..."D'you want to grab a bite from the buffet?" Erik could use a drink now. And it would be good to get away from these children.

To be honest, Ivy found his nervousness adorable, cute, okay, it was adorable. She had to admit that. She couldn't help but keep smiling, even though he was squeezing the blood out of her fingers. Ivy squeezed his hand gently so maybe he would realize it, but she wasn't too bothered by it.

After he asked, Ivy leaned in and placed a small kiss on the corner of Erik's lips. He deserved that one. "Yes," she then replied, taking a step to the side, but still held onto his hand. They could use drinks.
