As you enter the ballroom your breath is taken away by the sheer beauty of it. A large elegant candelabra chandelier hovers over the dance floor as individual candles are scattered evenly around to light up the room in a warm glow. It has been beautufully decorated in blue and green with Matty and Marie in mind. This is after all their night, their wedding reception.
Small tables surround a large dance floor while larger tables line the outer areas of the room. Name cards have been placed at the larger tables which have been set with elegant dinnerware. As you are shown to your seat, floating glasses of wine and champagne slowly make their way to your table. A beautiful cake can be seen in the corner but no touching it just yet.
The ambience is further heightened by the soft romantic music and gentle chatter in the background. It won't be long before the newlyweds join you to further celebrate their royal union so please relax and prepare yourself for a night of fun.

When he had seen the ballroom, Josh was glad that he had spent that extra time for grooming perfectly enough. This was one of his friends' wedding reception after all so for the first time in his life, he had used magic to look good. Well...mostly to keep his always messy hair in a good enough shape and some other little details.
He was dressed in a classic black suit with an ivory white shirt inside. His satin tie was dark red and had a gold, lion shaped badge pinned on it to show his roots. He had also chosen a perfume, the first one that smelled good to him; some kind of a forest scent. Of course his potential weapons, like his wand, were hidden under his jacket as the young man was always ready for trouble. But tonight he was an adult, handsome man and ready for trouble. Not that he thought anything would happen, it was just an habit.
When he was shown where to sit, he kindly nodded at them and took his place not really seeing anyone he knew yet.

Upon entering the ballroom, Mina allowed herself to take in the sight before her. It was breathtakingly enchanting and she had to take a moment to fully enjoy its beauty and to remember all that she felt and saw in that moment. It was an extremely special day for her friend and she had no doubt that it would be perfect. Smiling softly to herself, she allowed herself to continue into the ballroom itself and gave direction to someone that the happy couples wedding gift was just outside, ready to be taken to where the other gifts were. She wasn't about to carry said gift with her all night.
Dressed in a modest floor length, strapless sweetheart gown in a faint smoky greenish blue colour; the colour a salute to her own house roots plus her friendship with the bride; accompanied with her favourite satin pumps, she was shown to her table and found her name card. Setting her clutch beside her name card, she slide into her seat and looked around for anyone that she knew as she thanked her attendent.
It had taken her some time to pick out just what she was going to wear for the evening and she had worried about it for weeks until deciding on the gown and modest jewellery she was now wearing. Keeping her own make-up light and her hair simple, she was content with herself. It was an internal battle within herself to be there at the moment, but she had promised to be there and she wasn't about to break such a promise to someone that she considered a friend.
Pushing whatever strange feelings she had about what could happen when she did see some of her former classmates aside, she reached for a passing flute and spanned the ballroom again. It had been months since she had really talked, let alone seen most of the people she expected to see tonight. It would be nice to see them again for the most part and she kept that thought in her head as she continued to look on from table to table.
Spotting a familiar face, she raised her free hand and offered a wave to Josh. He looked rather dashing in his suit and she smiled. He looked almost like she remembered him months ago at his surprise birthday party, but she sensed that he was a bit of a different young man. She would have to stop over and say hello again properly later.
Mia had never been a Maid of Honor before and it been quite a surprise at how much was involved. Maybe because Marie and Matty's wedding ceremony was a lot more involved than normal weddings. It had been rather full on and quite formal but she'd had a good time nonetheless.
Only problem now was, that she was feeling a little tired and her legs were aching from having to stand up for so long. Merlin! She was so lazy at times. That is why she entered the ballroom on her husband's back.
She brought her lips to Nik's ear. "Woah! Would you get a load of this place. A lot different from when we got married eh?" They'd had no guests to share their big day and they had celebrated their nuptials with a quiet dinner. It had been perfect. And Mia wouldn't of had it any other way.
Although they did have a party at the commune when they had visited there to tell her parents. But that had been nothing like this either. A large bonfire and a buffet. Yeah this was totally different. "I guess we better behave ourselves tonight."

In all honesty, when he was asked to be one of the Groomsmen in Marie and Matty's wedding, Nikolai had all thoughts of declining. He really didn't think he was Groomsmen material, although he did look really, really good in a tux, and he didn't think he was close enough with Matty to be standing up there with him. Surely, he thought, there were other people he'd rather want to stand there.
But, when he talked to Mia about it, she assured him that that was what the bride and groom wanted and now, he was just glad the whole thing was all over. Seeing those two get married made him miss his wife.. even though she was standing not too far from him.
Which is why he entered the ballroom with her on his back.
And he couldn't help but agree with what she had whispered into his ear. He had thought the wedding service itself was fancy! Merlin! "I'm glad we got married the way we did." he whispered back, giving her arm a little squeeze. He could not imagine having any type of party that big. Not to mention, he didn't think Mia would want to be in a great room full with people he knew, heh.
Making sure he had a good grip on his wife, Nikolai made his way further into the room, and not bothering to ask for any help, he didn't need any, he began searching for their nameplates on the tables. They were sitting together, right!? "Really, Mia? You think anyone would notice us misbehaving?"
No, they would all be too busy congratulating the bride and groom.

The room was so breathtakingly beautiful that Mia was worried that she was probably going to break something. This place must have cost a fortune. She and Nik weren't poor by an means but she could not imagine spending so much money on a room for one night.
But each to their own.
She looked down at each table as they passed by looking for their names. "We're probably near the bridal table." They better be sitting next to each other. Mia did not want to spend the night away from her husband. She would change the nameplates around if they weren't.
Hehe. Mia nuzzled her face into the back of his neck. "I hope not because you are looking mighty fine in that tux." It had been a long time since the two of them had gotten dressed up.
"Ooh look there we are." she said pointing to a table that was next to the bridal table.

Truthfully, she was glad that the wedding part was over. She didn't mind the standing part, and she was genuinely happy for her friend, but...it was everything else. Weddings didn't suit well for the dark haired girl. Everyone in that room had that lovey-dovey look in their eyes, it was uncomfortable.
Brushing a wavy tendril of hair behind her ear as she entered the ballroom, Evelyn had to take a moment to stare. It really was beautiful. She'd heard snippets and things of what was going into this wedding, but now that it was all put together, she couldn't not admit that it was utterly perfect looking. As far as she was concerned that is. The last wedding she attended was almost thirteen years ago. Barely remembered a thing.
Smiling to whoever was showing her to her seat, it faded slowly away once she saw just who she was seated next to. No, no she was doing this for Marie. There was going to be no complaining tonight. Just those lovey-dovey looks. All the way. Pausing just by her seat for a second longer, Evelyn took a deep breath and...sat down. Next to him.
Merlin, sitting down felt good. She slipped off her shoes too.

Since now he was comfortably sit, Josh started to observe around the ballroom with amazement. The choice of colours were not his favourite yet still this seemed to be a very little, extremely unimportant thing compared to the whole decor and rich air within the place. He could not even imagine how much money they had probably spent for this important gathering. Everything he looked seemed to be of great value even though the young man was not familiar with any style of a life that rich. He had been a farm boy and now all he had was the money he got from Ministry. He considered himself lucky to be able to be present in such an event. Friends, of course, were the only way he could do so. He only hoped his attire and look were good enough for the event. Everyone seemed be quite classy in their own way. There were many elegant ladies around.
One of them was waving at him. Smiling widely, he waved back at Mina taking in how different she looked in that formal dress. It was a formal one, right? Different and beautiful.
While he kept watching around, his dark eyes were now on Mia and her husband who looked to be very busy with each other, the former Gryffindor felt someone sat down close to him; next to him, to be exact. And he recognized her even though he had not yet turned and faced her. He did not know how. It could either be her captiving smell or the alluring-cool air she walked around with that only he seemed to comprehend. Her presence so close made his heart beat faster.
Swallowing down the bump in his throat, he took in a deep breath take everything, especially the fast beating heart in control, before turning to look at her. Not doing so would have been extremely rude.
There was another hit for him when he set his eyes upon her beautiful face, making every other female in the room look very plain in his eyes, but hopefully he could feel himself able to control his emotions.
''Hi!''
He smiled kindly.
''You look very nice.''
Understatement? Definitely.

Hecate entered the room with her head held high. Alexander had been called away on business, and might make it later, when his typist returned from her honeymoon. For now she was solo. Stag... yeah...
Maybe she shouldn't have come... so many former students, and she wasn't too sure she agreed with Salazar's decision to marry so early. She sat at a table alone, contemplating leaving, when she heard a familiar voice...

Near the bridal table.
Well, that made plenty of sense, seeing as he and Mia were both in the bridal party, so Nikolai switched his direction and headed towards the big table. And as he walked and glanced around the room, he could not believe how all out Marie and Matty had went. Just look at how many glasses were in front of one seat! What were they all for!? He supposed he would find out soon enough.
"I do look good, don't I?" Yes, he already knew that, but he liked it better when Mia told him. Chuckling, he turned his head the best he could so he could check her out. "Have I told you how beautiful you look?" He was sure he had. Alot. But there was nothing wrong with telling her a few more dozen times. Because it was true.
After heading in right direction, it didn't take very long for Mia to find where they were going to sit. And thankfully, there were seated next to eachother. Letting her down from off of his back, Nikolai pulled out her chair for her before taking a seat of his own. "Since you were the Maid of Honor, are you supposed to make a speech or something? A toast?" Yeah, he knew nothing about weddings.

There was no point in answering that because one, she had already told him that he looked good and two, apparently he already knew it. Hehe. Her husband's ego was still as big as ever and it was one of the many things she loved about him. She kissed the back of his neck. "Only about twenty times. Which is pretty poor. I expect you to have told me at least fifty times before the night is out." Because what girl doesn't want to hear how beautiful she looked?
Mia slid down off his back and into the chair he had pulled out for her. She picked up a glass that she hoped held water and took a sip. At Nik's question, she quickly swallowed her water and gave him a cheeky grin. "Do you really think Marie and Matty are crazy enough to let me do a speech?" Merlin only knew what would come out of her mouth. And her husband would know that better than anyone.
She placed her hand on his knee and gave it a squeeze while she scanned the huge room. "Oooh would you look at that?" She nodded her head towards the table Evelyn and Josh were sitting at. "That could be a bit dangerous putting those two together on the same table." But it would be enteratining.

Ohh, that was so not fair!
Nikolai would have told Mia how beautiful she looked a thousand times, but really, they hardly had any time together since the night before! Mia was awake alot earlier than he was, since he didn't really have to do anything to himself, and because she was Marie's Maid of Honor, they were together practically the entire time. But now that they were together, he would make sure he told her so many times, she would get tired of hearing it. "Well then, I'll start now. You, Mia, look beautiful." Twenty-one. Only twenty-nine more times to go!
And now that he thought about it, no, he could not see Marie and Matty letting Mia make a speech for them. He wasn't going to say that, though, and instead he gave a shrug of his shoulders. "Who knows what they would let someone do. They're just so happy that they're married." They'd probably let anyone say anything about them.
Placing his hand on top of hers on his knee, Nikolai glanced in the direction she nodded her head. Ohh, hmm. Why did he get the feeling that that was done on purpose? "Are you going to go over there and see them?" She knew she could.. plus, it didn't seem like the bride and groom were going to show up anytime soon..

He wasn't sure of what to expect out of this. I mean, sure it was a wedding, and they're supposed to be lovely and all, but Raiden hadn't seen most people from school in a very, very long time.
He'd been away. That was his story, and he was sticking to it.
With a hint of tentativeness, he stepped into the reception hall, eyes flicking around hurriedly to take everything in. It was rather nice, and a smile tipped his lips; Marie was well-deserving of such a lovely wedding. He hovered near the entrance, staying out of the way as he observed the other guests already arrived...
Greaaaaaat. Former Head of House Hecate Lafay was lurking about. Raiden took care to not let his expression change as he noticed her; it was something he'd gotten rather good at, masking things like that. Instead, he straightened his tie, busily dusted a bit of lint off his sleeve, and continued looking at everyone else.
The rest of the selection were far more preferable.

He smiled kindly.

Understatement? Definitely.
Wiggling her toes a little, she sighed and leaned back on her seat, eyes closed. Just a few more hours and then she could let sleep invade her life for a bit. First, she had to get through the reception. His voice had her eyes opening again, turning her attention to him. Just...getting through the reception.
"Hi." she replied, staring at him as he complimented her. "You, too."
He looked very handsome, and dare she think it, smelled nice too. Something earthy and familiar. Not that she would sit and ponder the matter. Turning her attention elsewhere, Evelyn scanned the room, seeing who was there and who wasn't so far, compared to what she'd seen at the wedding. Dear Merlin, Lafay was there. It was weird seeing a Professor outside of school, even more so when they weren't your professor anymore. She'd spotted Mina, Mia and her Mr. Mysterious husband, and finally...
Raiden! Unless she was mistaken, that certainly was him. She made an attempt to wave him down.

Josh eyed the beauitful and brunette young woman carefully. With all her air and attitude, he could feel that he had just learned and experienced something very new; that a person could be so far away even though they were physically close enough to you. That was how she made him feel. He tried not to be locked to the matter though. She was the Evelyn he knew, after all.
He smiled at her reply. ''Thank you.'' She was not feeling so talkative, ha? But Josh had no intention of sitting there in silence during the whole reception ball thing. But since the girl seemed to be interested in someone else, he turned his attention to the rest of the place. Slowly more and more people were joining them, his dark eyes scanned most of them then they widened when he spotted someone very familiar; Lafay!!!
With a wide and warm smile on his face, he stood up and kindly waved at the woman. ''Professor Lafay!'' Would it be problem for her if he joined her for a short time? She seemed to be alone.

Carter...yes. That was his name but since his graduation, he was only used to hear it at work from his boss. They were not at school, did she have to be so formal? Anyway, he was not going to ask that and annoy her. As he could remember Professor Lafay was easy to annoy and he used to do it a lot back at Hogwarts.
First he did not understand what she said so stared at her face with a blank expression, blinking repeatedly but then upon seeing where she was looking at, he finally figured her words had been about Evelyn. With a sad smile on his face, he stared back the former Head Girl as well then looked back to Lafay. ''I don't think she is sitting there because she wants to.'' he mumbled a bit before coughing to clear his throat.
Whatever...
Assistance? ''Well...i need no assistance. I just wanted to say that i am glad to see you again and that...'' he eyed her a bit and smirked ''...you looked very beautiful. How have you been? Are there any other students at Hogwarts who look like they would be able to claim my throne?''

"Throne" She said and chuckled, "Someone has a very high opinion of himself, and she shook her head. "No one could. " she said. So he and the former head girl were not a couple... Ahhh. ''Well...well...well...It's really nice to see you smile.'' Josh said his smirk getting bigger and eyes brighter ''...professor.'' then he added with a rather meaningful tone. Slow attempts of trying to flirt a woman who was way older than him? Eh...he did not have anything else to do right now, did he? Would he dare trying to charm the wife of the Minister for Magic? Of course, he would. He was Josh Carter and nearly impossible, dangerous stuff was always attractive to him.
''You know...'' he began about him having a high opinion of himself. It was actually only when he was in a good mood but no one needed to know that. ''...i have always been like that.'' At school he was, yes, that was no lie. Then making sure it was a kind one , he laughed. ''Of course.'' Of course no one would be able to claim his throne. He was the lion king and the most Gryffindor of Gryffindors. Flattering himself felt good.
''No, i came alone. This is the first time i ever attended to something like this actually.'' Her husband was called away. Yeah...big problem. Hehehehe.

"So, I take it they took you in the young auror program?" the boy hadn't seen the letter she had sent, but she'd threatened the minister, her own fiancée at the time, that had he not placed him there, she'd still marry him, but he would regret the first two months.

Now which of the things he had said had anything to do with the Auror training program? Josh tried not to frown as he saw his attempts of flirting were simply being ignored ooor she did not consider them flirting at all. Very well, she could ignore forever and he could go on forever. He had a lot of time until the bride and groom arrived.
At least not being hexed so far could be regarded as something good. Plus her asking things about him meant she cared to a point. ''Yes.'' he replied with a quick nod ''It is not as fun as your classes but i am doing my best. Caused no trouble so far.''
Yes, that was right.
''But how are you, professor? Life is...good for you?''

Alriiiiiiight. The post-wedding reception. Personally, this was Lucas's favorite part of weddings. It was the part where he got to mingle with all the bride's single friends. And yes, he'd spent the whole wedding taking inventory of them. Sharing secret glances with a few of them. And silently promising saved dances.
Now... where to start?
His eyes scanned the room before landing on the girl that was in the castle for the sleepover.
Yes... that was a very good place to start. He made his way over to her. Hmm... she seemed already surrounded. No matter. He'd just move right in and say a quick hello.
"Hello again." he said with a smile addressing the brunette girl. "You look even lovelier today. I wouldn't have thought it possible."
-------------
"Shall we?" Carter asked extending his hand to his date for the evening. "Thanks for coming with me again." he said with a smile. It was a little nerve-wracking attending a wedding of an ex. But here he was. Supporting Marie. Like he had always tried to do.
"Did I tell you that when you plan my wedding I want there to be cheesecake?" he asked. He was sure he'd mentioned it a few times already... but he wanted to double check.
He glanced at the tables. Looks like they'd be shown to where they were supposed to sit. And shown they were. Once seated he leaned over to Cassie. "Do you see that? Floating champagne." he whispered to her. Yup. This was his first magical wedding.

Cassie linked her arm with Carter's extended arm and smiled at him. It wasn't the most ideal of situations but she could handle it and she was moral support for Carter. Also the ex-hufflepuff had helped to put some of this shindig together, she wanted to see the out come for herself."It's no problem Carter...I uhh..I wouldn't miss it for the world."
