SSRP: The Hendricks Household

It's the year 2095, and welcome to the Hendricks household! They first met at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. They became friends and dated, and now they're happily married with two children. The large Force Estate was eventually sold on as they decided they wanted a slightly smaller - but no less impressive - home, where they could start their family. Madeleine and Justin Hendricks now live in a small town in England with their daughter Beth, aged six, and son Danny, aged two. The house is always open to visitors, but be warned - it's often rather busy!

Floor 1: dining room, family room, study, kitchen and a bathroom.

Outside: Tennis, stables, main garden

Floor 2: master bedroom, Beth's bedroom, Danny's bedroom and two spare bedrooms, all of which have en-suite bathrooms.

Phew. Maddie sat down on the couch in the family, Danny in her arms. She settled him next to her on his pile of cushions and flicked on his favourite TV channel. Disney or something. Beth was upstairs in her room, and Justin was on his way back from work. She sipped at her Diet Coke and waited for her husband.

Justin walked down the drive and entered the house. The first thing he did was take his jacket off and go kiss Maddie. "Hey baby" he said and smiled at Danny. He was so cute, but didn't get that from him clearly. "Is Beth upstairs?" he asked. He had something for the two of them.

Danny smiled at his dad and put his arms out for a cuddle. "Dada" he said and giggled. He had a tendancy of giggling. He was probably the happiest baby right now.

Maddie smiled up at her husband and kissed him back, smiling as Danny pulled himself awazy from the television to give his dad a hug. 'Hey' she said happily 'Yes, she is. And... wait for it, she'll be down in a minute. Time for Hannah Montana, or whatever it is six-year olds watch' she said, and right on cue her daughter came thundering down the stairs

'Daddy!' she cried, runnning up and tackle-hugging him. 'Hug!' she demanded, laughing.

Justin smiled and hugged Danny. Then Beth came running in. "Right on time. Hey sweetie" he said and hugged his daughter. His family meant everything to him. Literally. His career meant nothing compared to Maddie, Beth and Danny. They were his entire life. "And I have present's. Not everyday I come home from work with presents for you guys" he said as he took out two boxes. He handed Beth the pink one and Danny the blue one. Then he took a long purple box and handed that one to Maddie. This box was different.

Danny smiled at his dad and ripped the top of the box open. Out dropped a Lightning McQueen toy car. Danny smiled immediately at his dad and began playing with the car. He was happy with the present. Ok, more than happy.

OOC: It's up to you what Maddie and Beth's presents are.

Maddie smiled happily and turned the volume down on the TV so they could all talk
'Oh, thanks' she said, giving him another kiss and handing Beth her present. Then she took hers, opening the long purple box excitedly 'Oh, Justin, it's gorgeous!' she said, staring at the beautiful necklace nestled among the purple silk. 'What do you say to Daddy, Danny' she prompted gently, watching playing with the little car. Sweet.

Beth let go of daddy's waist and pounced enthusiastically on the pink box. Pretty pink!
'Presents presents presents!' she cried, excited. And it was pink. She ripped open the box, throwing the lid at mummy. She grabbed the doll inside and hugged it, careful not to squish it though 'Thank you daddy!' she said and sat down on a big cushion, staring intently at her new toy. Staaaaaare.

Danny smiled and stood up holding his arms out for Justin to grab him. "Thank you, daddy" he said still smiling. He loved his new toy. It was his new favourite toy.

Justin smiled and picked Danny up before sitting down beside Maddie. "Welcome guys" he said to Danny and Beth. Then he turned to Maddie and kissed her back, making it last longer this time almost is if something else were to happen. "I love you so much" he said to her. He was excstatic. He had everything.

Maddie smiled up at him as he sat down on the couch and returned the kiss. It was longer than the last, and she almost felt like something else was going to happen. But the children were there. of course
'I love you too' she murmered, and smiled at the kids and her husband. She had such a great family. 'So how was work?' she asked

Beth was pulled away from her new toy by her parents... kissing. Eeeeeewwww.
'Gross' she told them, matter-of-factly, and then turned back to the TV, sitting the doll down so she could watch it too.

Justin giggled at Beth. "That'll be your kids saying that later in life, missy. Probably, if you find a guy decent enough" he said. If he allowed any guy to touch her. No guy was good enough for his little princess. "And as for work, lets just say someone's lost a loved one" he explained.

Danny climbed on Justin and over so he was in between mummy and daddy. He put the toy in his lap and began messing about on Justin's lap.

Bradin walked down the drive and knocked on the door of the home his best friend lived in. He was glad he'd been invited and happy to see them again.

Maddie laughed
'It will indeed, Beth. Look forward to it' she said, giggling. She'd obviously check the guy out first. Although perhaps that was Justin's territory... Daddy's Little Princess and all that. 'Oh gosh, who? Anyone I know?' she asked, concerned. She heard a knock at the door and stood up to let Bradin in.

Beth made a face
'Uh-uh. Kissing's gross!' she exclaimed, looking away from the TV and poking Danny's arm 'Wanna play with me?' she asked him.

Justin giggled at Beth. "You say that now but later on in life you'll be going through that stage in life" he replied. Then he looked at Maddie. "James Morton. I'm not gonna say how but we know who did it and he's standing trial next week" he explained.

Danny smiled. "Yes" he replied and climbed to the floor and began playing with Beth.

Bradin smiled at Maddie as he entered the house holding his sons hand. "Hey Maddie" he said with a smile.

Harley stood in front of Bradin and looked up at Maddie. He'd met Maddie and Justin before but it had been a while since then so he didn't really know them that well and didn't really speak much.

Maddie gasped
'Oh Merlin. Give the family my condolences... maybe I'll send some flowers' she said. Putting on a cheeful face she turned to Bradin 'Hey' she said, glad to see him 'And Harley! You'll fit right in here, d'you want to go and play with Beth and Danny?' she said gently, giving the small boy a little hug

Yay! Play time! Beth grabbed Danny's car toy and dug in her toybox. She emerged with a firetruck and a pink racing car and set them on the floor. She waved up at the strange boy and called him over 'Come and play cars with us!' she cried, smiling

"Already did. They're pretty torn up about it, as we would if it was Danny or Beth. I just hope he gets life and the keyb thrown away" replied Justin and smiled as Bradin and Harley entered. "Hey, Bradin, and Harley" he said ad gave his godson a hug.

Danny turned to the other boy and smiled. "Come pway" he said enthusiastically.

Bradin smiled at Beth and Danny and walked over to where Justin was sat. "Did I mention you two have cute kids and what about locking someone up and throwing away the key?" he said and smirked. He knew exactly what he was talking about but hey, he had to join the conversation somehow right.

Harley nodded at Maddie and ran over to Beth and Danny. He sat down and began playing with the toys with Beth and Danny. They looked happy together.

'Of course they are' Maddie said understandingly. She'd never be able to cope if it was Danny or Beth. She put the thought out of her mind and smiled at the sight of the three children playing. It was a pretty picture... 'Oh. Someone on trial soon. He... er' she whispered the rest, not wanting the children to hear it.

Beth grabbed the pink car and pushed it across the floor, running after it and trying to keep up. She reached out to grab it and ... fell flat on her face.
'Daddy! Ow, Daddy, it hurts!' she called, crawling over and grabbing his legs

Justin looked at the three children and smiled. Such a beautiful picture. "And as for what happened today, Bradin works in the same department as me hunny" he replied. Then he looked down at Beth and picked her up. "Now who's a silly sausage" he said to her tickling her. That always cheered her up and usually took the pain away whilst he checked her over. He rubbed her head better and kissed her forehead. "All better" he said and put her back down again.

Danny pushed his lightning mcqueen along the floor and crawled after it slowly trying to keep up. He grabbed the toy and pushed it back again hitting Justin's legs with it. "Sowwy daddy" he said.

"Yeah I know about it all. He won't see daylight again. Only through metal bars" replied Bradin and smiling at the three children. They looked so happy together and were enjoying each others company which was always a good thing.

Harley stood up and ran toward his toy car tripping over at the same time. He began crying. "Daddy" he cried out.

Bradin got up and went to his son and picked him up. "Be careful" he said as he rubbed his sons leg better and hugged him. It always made Harley feel a lot better.

Maddie blushed
'Oh, forgot about that' she said apologetically 'Anything else happen? I remember when I worked at the Ministry... so boring.' she said, laughing. She smiled at Danny and rolled the car back to him.

Beth giggled as Daddy tickled her, forgetting about her head completely.
'Stop it! Tickley!' she squealed, squirming around in his arms. She ran back to her doll as soon as he put her down and fiddled with the dress. 'Don't like cars anymore' she pouted

Justin giggled at Beth. "Then leave the cars to the boys" he said to her playfully. Then he looked at Bradin, who was busy sorting Harley out, and smiled. "Well other than that, nothing else has happened. Been a pretty boring day" he replied sighing. They didn't seem to get much in these days and most of them were murders anyways.

Danny grabbed his car and took it to Bradin to show him. "Look Bwadin, daddy gave me it" he said holding it in Bradin's face.

Bradin put Harley back on the floor and smiled as he ran off again to get his car. "HQ hasn't been giving us much work lately at all" he replied then looked at Danny. "Thats smart isn't it" he said to him and tickled the two year old.

Harley ran back to his car and pushed it toward Beth. "Want to play with my car?" he asked holding it out for her.

Maddie sighed and stood up, heading for the kitchen
'We're having pasta for dinner, is that alright?' she asked everyone, pulling out cutlery and plates 'And could someone perhaps help me set the table, please?' she called out, grabbing ingredients now

Beth looked at Harvey
'Nu-uh. Don't like cars' she said pointedly, shaking her head 'I wanna play dollies!'

Justin got up and followed Maddie to the kitchen. "Thats fine" he said and set the table ready for dinner. The children wre playing and they were busy with the dinner. Everyone was happy. "Where's Ginny, Bradin?" he asked curiously.

Bradin walked into the kitchen and helped Justin set the table. "She might be coming later. Kinda busy at the moment" he replied. He hoped Justin or Maddie didn't see through that. They were kind of having disagreements at the moment and it wasn't a good sign either.

Ginny had heard all about the Hendricks. She was happy that Justin and Maddie had finally moved in together. She walked to the door and knocked. She waited for someone to answer.

Justin heard a knock at the door and went to answer it. "Hey Ginny. Come on in" he said and stepped aside for her to come in. Bradin didn't look too happy about it at all. Still, he couldn't stop his wife from doing what she wanted could he.

Bradin tilted his head back and banged in against the wall. "Why o why o why" he said. He and Ginny weren't on the best terms right now and it wasn't getting any better,

Harley heard his mums name mentioned and ran to her. "Mummy" he said and ran into her arms.

Bradin looked at Ginny coldly. "Hi" he said plainly. He had to keep his cool for Harley's sake. The poor boy would be torn apart if he knew that his parents were on the verge of a very big argument.

Harley smiled and hugged Ginny. Then he ran to Bradin. "Daddy. I want a cuddle" he said and put his arms out for Bradin to pick him up.
