The Game Room

Employees of the Ministry of Magic often find the Game Room as a place to unwind during breaks and sometimes at the end of the work day. Golden oak flooring and paneling with the exposed walls painted an olive green, the Game Room is completely different from the other rooms on the level. Two billiard tables occupy one end of the room while the opposite end of the room contains six dart boards. A ping-pong table and two foosball tables are found the middle of the room. There is a fireplace in the room with couches and chairs arranged around it. A few small tables have inlaid checkerboards and kits of both Muggle and Knights Chess are available to those who wish to play.

OOC: All Ministry of Magic employees, regardless of their assigned department, are welcome to create their own roleplay in this thread.

Briony walked into the new found game room she had only just heard about. She wasn't really one for games and acting stupid, but this was an exception she supposed. Right now she needed break from Ryan and everyone else in the Education Department. She walked over to a dart board and picked up one of the darts, biting down on her lips slightly. She took a quick glance around and aimed, throwing it at the board. She hit the nine, almost hitting the wall. Hehe. That was sort of fun.

Jared wasn't usually on the seventh floor, but hearing about this game room, he decided to come and have a look. It sounded pretty cool. Walking into the room, he saw only one other person in the room throwing darts, and he chuckled.

"Nice shot," he teased, because she had nearly hit the wall. Jared looked around the room with a grin, it was cool in here.

Briony spun around to see a man standing there behind her. She felt her face flush red with slight embarrassment. This wasn't normal of her to be playing games. "Thanks," she replied with a small smile. What was wrong with her these days?

"Umm...I'm Briony Whitehall," she introduced herself, seeing as someone was going to have to make introductions or she would be driven mad by awkwardness.

"Nice aim. By far better than mine," she mused, watching the dart hit the board, almost on the center. Her brother had one of these. Then again he had six kids. Her brother was insane.

"No I actually work on the second level. I'm one of the Division Heads for the Education Department," she explained. Why she was on level seven, she yet to know. "Do you work on this level?" she asked, directing the question back to him.

"Thanks, but I've had practice." Jared said with a shrug. He had, he used to play darts all the time, and he'd always had good aim.

"Oh," he said. The seventh floor was quite a ways away from the second, but then again, Jared worked on the fourth floor. "No, I work on the fourth floor. Magical creatures."

When he said he worked in the Magical Creatures Department her eyes widened and her face turned a bright red. Her last run in with the Magical Creatures Department had been when doxies were terrorizing her Department. She had ran in completely freaking out with a book. "Seems I have a tendency of running into a lot of Magical Creatures employees," she giggled.

"Do you want to play a one-on-one game of something?" Briony asked, gesturing around the room.

"Well I've met someone names Nikos...I don't quite remember his last name and a woman named Hanna then someone other lady I have yet to know her name," she told him with a nod. She didn't know a lot of people though. She blushed even more when he started laughing at her reaction.

"Fine, how about...ping-pong?" she pointed at the table. "And I think it's you who should be worried about losing to my awful skills," Briony pointed out with sarcasm. She walked over to the table, took the paddle and picked it up.

"Sure, I'm good at that." he said, with a grin. "Oh, I'm really worried now. Whatever shall I do, against skills like that?" Jared teased. He followed her to the table and picked up a paddle. "Ready?" He asked, confidently.

"Ready as I'll ever be," she figured, bouncing the ball on the table and taking a small hit. She watched it bounce over the net. Well her next problem would be if she could get it back over if it made it back to her.

Chris entered the game room. It was the first time he had been in here. He hoped Frida would join him because he liked her very much already and what would be better then to play a game of muggle billiards. He set up one of the tables.

"Hello, Chris." Frida said as she walked into the room, stopping short when her eyes landed on all the different games. Most of which she had never played, nor seen, before.
"What's this?" She asked and placed her hand on the billiard table that Chris was next to.

"Its a muggle game that is done around the world. You have a set of several balls that you have to hit with a big stick and try to get them all in before the other does and that means you win." He got the colored balls into a triangular formation and then he put the white ball in front of him.and he moved the stick forward and balls went everywhere.

Frida blinked as she watched as some of the balls group, and others scatter around the table. 'Doesn't look too hard.' She thought to herself and picked up a pool stick from the rack nearby. "Sooooo, like this?" Frida hit the white ball like Chris had done, and watched as it, not roll across the table, but skipped, seeing as how Frida had hit it at a bad angle. *clunk* *clunk* *clunk* "Oops."
Though it wasn't so bad after all, the white ball managed to hit a solid, which rolled a tiny bit closer to another solid, which then halted in front of one of the six holes. "That's kind of fun." Frida said with a smile

Okay. That wasn't cool. Frida narrowed her eyes when Chris was ahead of her...point-wise, if that was even how the game worked. Now her competetive side was coming out.
"Yeah, two in, but I'll get three." She positioned herself in front of the white ball and aimed the tip of the pool stick dead-center. "Get ready to come in second place, Chris." Frida said and as hard as she could struck th- *SCREE!*

The woman blinked, clearly shocked at the amount of fabric she had torn up from the table with the pool stick. "Um...whoops." She stood back and looked over to Chris with a broad smile. "That's not supposed to happen is it?" No. Of course it wasn't. Frida sighed and took out her wand, gave it a flick and watched as the fabric appeared reattached itself to the table.

"I see." Frida said smartly and moved up to the white ball again. "No, you didn't do too well. Maybe I'll have better luck." "Baseball for sure is another muggle sport that i think wizards should try to invent in the wizarding world but that could be a long way off. You got one in so you can keep going" he said to her

Frida blinked, "That counts too right?" But then changed the subject to another sport, "I know how to play muggle tennis actually. My friend that I've known since I was eight showed me how to play about ten years ago. I think that's really fun."

Frida started to hit a striped ball towards another billiard on the table, watching as that one too clunked heavily on the table and missed the pocket by a good foot and a half. "I've never seen professional muggles play...I've just played off against my friends. I'm pretty good at it, and managed to knock the wind out of my friend Todd. Poor guy. He laid on the court for at least twenty minutes." 'Guess that's a sign for me to work on my aim.'
She couldn't help but smirk a little as she asked Chris, "You play any sports? Like, all the time?"
