Seventh Year |  The Office of Syd Wordsmith, Department Head Hold it! Title Invasion
This office has a large, heavy wooden door with a brass nameplate affixed to it. The shining, polished plated reads Syd Wordsmith, Dept. Head and beneath that plate was on that also read Attorney at Law.
Beyond the door lies the very familiarly colored office. Well, familiar if you had been a Gryffindor. The carpet and upholstery is all a very rich red while any metal in the room shines with gold. There is a large desk at the far end of the room with a high backed office chair behind him. On the sides of the room are cabinets full of files from several old cases and the walls have been decorated with paintings of famous Gryffindor lawyers.
The room also smells somewhat of lemons... That could be the large, glistening pitcher or lemonade on a countertop by the desk.

"Syd!" Ben said outside of the door. After a moment he decided to open the door not waiting. "Sir, sorry to barge in, but it's an emergency. We got the scumbag from all the Hogwarts incidents unconscious in our work area." He stood there waiting for the department head's response. After almost a year this was his first REAL direct interaction.

He put his hands into his pockets and strode out of his office as if it were nothing. Though this was just how he operated. After years of dealing with criminals you get accustomed to the excitement. | |

Warren walked up to Syd's door, letter in hand. Was he going to do this? Was this really going to be his last goodbye? He never thought he'd see the day where he'd stop working but...he wanted to spend time with Alexa...his soon to be wife in a matter of weeks. He didn't need to work, he had the money and really...there was nothing driving him anymore. No harboured grudges to make amends for...no sarcastic voice of his father to make him mad.... It was time to go.
Raising his hand he knocked on the door hoping Syd was there.

Syd came walking down the hall behind Warren and got his keys out as he did so, trying to give Warren a sign that he wasn't inside the office. He stepped up next to the man and unlocked his door, looking at him and smirking.

"That so?" Syd said, taking the sheet from Warren and sitting on his desk.
He read over the parchment and nodded, seeing that it was perfectly in order. Yes, it wasn't the first time he lost a good subordinate, but this was certainly a rather important time for him now.
"Well that makes two of us then! I'm gonna be busy with this here thing we're gonna have going on in the Ministry and after that..." he said, sliding off the desk and walking to a photo of a large, plantation style home. "I'm headin' home. The American government needs someone and I think I've been away from home too much." | |

Looking around the office he pushed off the wall, "I think it's just time for me to retire. I've been doing this for far too long Syd....in far too many places. It's time for me to spend some time with my wife." He eyed the parchment for a moment before saying, "And that isn't a two weeks notice. I don't need the reference and won't be back to the ministry. That an immediate notice. This is my last day."

Nodding Warren smiled and opened the door. It was symbolic almost...a new path...a new life....opening the door to his future. Closing it behind him he took a deep breath and with one last look around headed for the elevators.

Forrester made his way to Syd's office. He had heard the most absurd rumor and there was only one man that could help him with it. Knocking on the door, he entered the room where he found Syd sitting busy in his own work.
"Hello Syd I need to ask you something?" Forrester said.. "If you have sometime that is"
