Runes Lesson One

[Jolie]

*Professor Tari walks around the dimly lit classroom and is not satisfied with what she sees. With a few waves of her wand, candles filled the shelves, and all the desks were arranged in groups of four. 'Much better,' she thinks to herself while as she walks towards the front of the room.

She sits down on the stool next to her desk and patiently waits for her students to arrive.*

*walks in*
Hello Professor!
*seats herself at a desk near the window*

*Walks in and sits,

"Good morning, professor," Nadia says happily. "Nice to see you! I've been waiting for this class all week - I was even about to owl you to ask if we were to start at some point! The wait was unbearable^^"

[Keeper of the heart]

"Hi everyone good morning Proffessor!" love girl said.

[Dawn Bloom]

Walks in and takes a seat at the back.

*Walks in and sits towards the back*
Hello professor!
*Gets book out, ready to work*

Good morning to you all! I'm going to pass out a roster so I can attempt to learn your names before the end of the term.

*Professor Tari gets up from her seat at the front of the room and passes a roll of parchment over to a student sitting at the front of the room.*

Please put your name along with your house and then pass it around the room.

[She-Who-Is-Not-To-Be-Psycho!]

*Writes,

"Nadia ChantalonaRey, Slytherin 2nd year"

Pass note along to next student...*

"Good morning Professor," Ali said as she took her seat in the back in the back of the classroom.

[Dawn Bloom]

Dawn takes it from Nadia.


She writes, Dawn Bloom, Slytherin

While the list is going around, I'm going to explain this class.

This class will consist of mostly lectures with a few group activities. Make sure you bring plenty of parchment, you'll need it. We'll start off by learning the rune alphabet and pronunciation, then advance to grammar rules and the translation of some spells that you'll find usefull in some of your other classes.

We will also take a look at other languages such as Latin, which is important to understand the meaning behind some incantations. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask them now.

Well, I would just like to say that, although the pronuonciation of these spells are sort of latin or whatever, they remind me alot spanish, sometimes. lol

Ashlie listnes eagerly. Feeling a bit foolish, she sticks her hand in the air. "Does anyone know where the latin language originated?" she asked. "I can't remember if I've ever learned that." She gave a sheepish smile, and wrote down her own information as the parchment came to her. Ashlie Moore. Third Year, Ravenclaw

Kyshia takes the paper and writes:

"Hello professor, sorry for being a little late."
*sits behind Dawn and starts writing, Vicky Beckham, Gryffindor.*

"Hello Professor!"

He went to seat near Ashlie. He brought out a parchment and wrote:
"RJ Manzano, Ravenclaw 2nd Year"

*Raise hand* "By rune alphabet what exact languaje are we spaking about? I thought it was Latin but it doesn't look like that's the only languaje we are learning. Also, are we learning Greek, any chance?"

Turn to Dawn Bloom,

"I know! I was thinking it myself. Are you a Spanish native speaker? Because I am, htat's how I can tell^^"

Then Ashlie, "Weren't the Romans the one who spoke Latin? Mmh, I'm not sure though..."

[Dawn Bloom]

"Yes, I am," she answers Nadia, with a smile.

[Harry-Ron-HermioneONLY]

"Ahhh, professor I don't feel well.My head........I have to go to the hospital wing....."

There is actually a rune alphabet, seperate from Latin, that we will cover. It's very similar to latin, but using different symbols to represent different letters and sounds.

We wil not be learning Greek this term, We may touch on it next term, if all goes well.
