Stretching out across a section of the common room sits a unique library of sorts. With floor to ceiling bookshelves, this mini library belongs strictly to Ravenclaw Tower and, as such, are as unique as its inhabitants. Books on your everyday subjects can be found here, with extra copies of textbooks placed in case anyone needs it. However, the library also holds many books on other, more unique subjects: books on lesser-known sports, arts and craft and even music sheets can be found here. After all, knowledge doesn't stop short at school subjects, does it? Professor Stewart has gone the extra mile and added a complete section dedicated to comic books: James Bond, Archie, an entire range of Superheroes from both the DC and Marvel worlds.

What's particularly amazing to note about this library is what's in the bookshelves themselves. Some of these books have been passed down from older Ravenclaw students who don't need them anymore. Their notes and other wise words can still be seen etched into margins and crammed on spare pieces of parchment in the books themselves.

Near the library sits a few comfortable armchairs and sofas, each near their own little lamps for the person who wants to do a spot of midnight reading.
Absolutely no eating nor drinking in the library. We don’t want those precious books to get soiled, do we?

Mark was looking over the Library in the Ravenclaw Common Room. He hadn't been to this section yet...which is very unravenclaw like. Being a Ravenclaw was something, this young eagle was still growing used too. Even this Late into November. He saw the books on Music, and on Different kinds of Art Styles he had never even heard of. He would very much like to look at those books later.

His eyes stopped on the section the former Head of House Stewart still had in there. a Whole section of Comics. Of all kinds! LOOK AT THEM! Still sitting in the Bookshelves even after the ban to read them or have them was enacted.

Impulsively Mark jumped at them. He didn't much care what each of the comic books were. DC, Marvel, Dark Horse, Calvin and Hobbes. A Collection of The Farside Comics. Mark started pulling them from the shelves. He would carry as much of a stack as he possible could in his small first year arms and go to his Dorm Room. Then a few minutes later, he would be back and grabbing another handful of comics and rushing them to his dorm room, then back again. He would repeat this process continually. Surely no one was going to stop him. This was his little act of rebellion. The Headmaster's rule that they only have educational books was a horrible one. If all they had were Instructional books on the best Wizard's Chess moves...no matter how interesting that book may sound to Mark...even he would grow tired of it. Everyone needed a Fictional story, even something as simple as a picture book to let their imaginations go wild. He would keep and hide these comics for the other Ravenclaws. Maybe even for the Hufflepuffs, the Gryffindors, and the Slytherins. without Imagination there was no creativity and Mark wanted there to be creativity.

So how many more comics did Professor Stewart keep in this Bookshelf?

Chloe was in search of something to read... but what she found was a criminal mastermind. Or was someone still a mastermind if they were being really obvious and could be caught by a pretty much useless Ravenclaw sixth year?

Criminal... minion.

"You can't just have whatever books you want. They belong to everyone." Chloe crossed her arms and tapped her foot, trying to look intimidating. She was taller than him, at least, although that counted for very little when she was wearing pompoms in her braids.

Mark stopped dead in his tracks after having been at this task for a few minutes now. Pulling the Comics then rushing them to his Dorm Room. He turned and spotted the Girl who had caught him. She was Taller than him, but then again who wasn't taller than him right now? It was the blight of being one of the youngest 1st years in his class.

As with the New Head of House the Ravenclaws all obtained rather recently her voice was rather intimidating, but there was just something off with her. Something that distracted from her intimidating vocals. Must be the Pom Poms in her hair. He couldn't help but just look at them instead of her as she reprimanded him. "You don't get it. The Headmaster Banned these books. We can only read Educational Books. As much as I love reading my Charms Textbook I still need... WE still need Comics." Mark was saving them. He was going to be the go to kid for any Student who needed a comic to read real bad. He could begin a business of underground comic book distribution at Hogwarts, and he'd be the head honcho of it all.

Okay maybe that thought was getting out of hand, and he needed to stop looking at the Pom Poms in her hair. Who was he talking to anyways. He never looked down at her face...

Oh that's the Older Girl from Quidditch that was their Captain Juniper. Other Chloe.

"You need comics, you have comics. We're not allowed to read them, but that doesnt' mean someone's going to burn the whole bookcase," Chloe stopped tapping her foot, but not because she was successful at intimidation but because her foot was getting really tired.

She recognized this little twitchy first year. He'd made the Quidditch team with her. "Besides, if you take them, how will other people get to find them and read them? You have to figure something else out. Maybe... make them invisible here on the shelf. Or Transfigure them to look like text books."

Was Rafferty pleased and proud to be Head of House? Yes. Did he frequent the Common Room? You could say yes. As it was, he had stumbled upon the library on his initial visit but had not examined all of the books at that time. This was the reason he was back today. The conversation that was taking place between book boy from the Lake and a female. What? Stewart had comics here? Raftery would be having none of that.

“Good day, children.’’ There was that cold smile in place. “What's this I’ve been hearing about comic books? We can't have those around now, can we?’’ Raftery moved to the shelves to take a closer look at the infernal books.

Mark looked up at Chloe again as she suggested instead of taking them from the shelf and keeping them for himself, which had never crossed his mind. "I don't know how to do any of that. Transfiguring a books cover seems like it would need a lot work I don't know how to do yet." He didn't mention the possibility of making them invisible. That too was out of his skill level at the moment. They were still teaching him how to make a feather float. "Would you help me do that?" better to learn it now than to have to wait a few years.

Just as he finished asking Chloe how to Transfigure the book covers, the Replacement showed up. "N-nothing. It looks like some of them have already been removed from the bookshelf, Sir. Professor Stewart must have taken some with her before she left."

ha...Ah...haha! Wow...Wow...Mark Lied. He Lied!!

He then shot a look over at Chloe. If he hadn't already taken and hidden some of the Comics in his Dorm, they would all surely be removed now.

The point was that she was just trying to convince a first year not to steal things and now it turns out he'd been right the whole time. Mr. Visiting Professor Ainsworth proved that right here.

"Good day, sir. Mark and I were just noticing that there are illegal books left on these shelves. Would it be alright if we sorted them out and brought the illegal books to your office? I'd hate to inadvertently lose a textbook because we didn't look closely enough." And Mark needed to just keep a lid on it for now, since Mr. Visiting Man wouldn't know anything was missing if Mark hadn't brought it up.

This would have all gone so much more smoothly if Chloe hadn't stopped him to reprimand him for stealing the comics from the shelves. He'd have had 2 maybe 3 more trips finished and the remaining comics would be safely stored away in his dorm room and no one would know any the wiser. Replaceworth was already browsing the bookshelves, and the last few comics that were left he was sorry he would see them go. He couldn't do anything for them now.

he nodded in agreement with Chloe. Keeping his mouth shut, no way was he going to mess this up by running his mouth any further than it had.

Was Rafferty suspicious? Quite so. Why? Because that was how he was. Rafferty was generally suspicious of all students. “Now now. Why would Stewart do that? Did she have a fondness for comics?’’ Since he had ignored the other Ravenclaw, Rafferty now looked at her for an answer as well. A wrinkled nose as a form of greeting? Or was it her reaction to seeing him?

“What a great suggestion, Kettleburn. How kind.’’ Rafferty lazily looked at the bookshelves. He would have to comb through each book to root out any illegals. “Thanks but no thanks.’’ Rafferty allowed a smirk to grace his features. “If you two could run along somewhere else, I’ll be the one to scrutinize these books.’’

He had a dumb face. Chloe was always kind in her thoughts for people, so she was surprised by this unwarranted criticism as it rose to the forefront of her mind. He had a dumb face and she would be glad not to ever have to see it again.

"Alright, sir. I just thought you might have better things to do and we could help," Chloe shrugged and tossed her plait with a clenched fist. So. Interesting. This was the body's reaction to a dumb face. "Come on, Mark. I don't have OWLs or NEWTs this term, so I'll help you with your studies." Hint hint. She had a LOT of free time for book sorting.
