| | Fruit Bowl Out of all of the paintings hanging on the walls of the basement corridor, the one depicting a silver fruitbowl is an easy favourite for some of those here at Hogwarts. While many may think that there is nothing special about this particular painting, those who are well-informed about its purpose know what lies beyond. Past this painting is where all of the food you stuff in your mouth three or more times a day is made.
If you're in the need of second breakfast, elevenses, or a mid-afternoon snack, then this is the place to be. If you are someone who knows this particular castle secret, you know those bananas and grapes aren't there just to make your mouth water and your stomach rumble. Simply reach out your hand and tickle the delicious-looking pear in the corner. After it has a squirming fit and laughs, it will transform into a green door-knob and grant you access to the grand Hogwarts kitchen where anything you desire can be whipped up in no time at all.

| Open. You may ask why was Rafferty staring at the Bowl of Fruit. Why was his serious face plastered with one of disgust? It was because Rafferty could not imagine whose idea it was to use a bowl of fruit to hide the kitchen. Even more so, why did they have to tickle the pear. Rafferty knew that he would feel ridiculous tickling it. It was a ridiculous idea in the first place. Would Rafferty’s huge pride outweigh his craving for steak and kidney pie or would he just turn and march right back to his office?

Craving for a sandwich that he had learned to make from Rylee last year and having finished all.. Ok most of his homework for the day, Dorian decided to pay the kitchen a visit. Although food was forbidden in the corridors they didn't say that it was forbidden to make and eat something in the kitchen.
As the fourth walked through the dungeon hallways and only getting lost twice... He finally found the portrait of the fruit bowl and.....his Head of House... Or as Chase and him used to refer him to 'The Ogre'. Biting his lips to not let out a laugh at his thought, Dorian straightened his face and walked closer. Out of all the new professors, he disliked him the most because he had literally taken over Professor Stewarts jobs. "It's the pear, Professor" he said politely. How did this man manage to solve the riddles to get in to their common room but not know how to get in to the kitchen? Ha!

Rafferty turned a scowling face at the Ravenclaw. He drew himself up to the fullest height. “Why thank you for that vital piece of information.’’ Rafferty’s tone was one of sarcasm. Every word dripped of it. “Whomever came up with this idea to get to the kitchen was ridiculous. Tickle the pear.’’ Rafferty snorted. “Really.’’

Instead, the Ravenclaw smiled and although it was politely, his words dripped with an equal amount of sarcasm back. "You're very welcome, Sir" He wasn't afraid of some stuck up professors except for the Headmaster, he was REALLY intimidating
So if he knew how to get in to the kitchen, then why hadn't he yet? His words definitely did not add up to his actions and Dorian had a feeling that the man was waiting for him to open the door. He was not going to though, not yet anyways. "Helga Hufflepuff i presume" he said with a shrug of his shoulders. And he didn't think it was ridiculous at all. He thought it was funny. But of course, these new Professors did not know what fun meant so he wasn't that shocked that he didn't knew. "Are you going in or not?" he asked and added a "Professor" like an afterthought.

Argyle scurried from the Hufflepuff common room and her finished cleaning. The house elf heading back towards the warmth and duties awaiting in the kitchens only to come across two humans waiting just outside the portrait leading in. “Master Professore…Master Studentese…Argyle help you with anything?”
Did they not know how to get in? The elder was a relative newcomer to the castle after all. Did they WANT to come into the kitchens? The house-elf looked from one to the other with wide eyes unsure of what to say or do further.

Yes, he was. His senses seemed to have become even more enhanced since he had arrived at Hogwarts. “Careful there, Katharos. One more sassy word of you and I’ll be docking points.’’ Rafferty’s tone was one of ease and delicacy but he meant every word.
The question was begrudgingly considered. In that time, one of the elves had appeared. Rafferty glared at both his company. Without another word, Rafferty tickled the pear. There was a foolish feeling about him as the pear giggled then turned into a knob. Rafferty yanked it then moved into the Kitchen.
