Underground Chambers

Opening a well-hidden door in the dungeons allows you access to the many underground chambers beneath the castle. While this discovery may be exciting, it is important to move forward with caution -- hopefully you've come along with some friends, just in case something should go terribly wrong. No, you've thankfully not stumbled upon the Chamber of Secrets. But only Merlin knows what you'll find here.

You start off in a chamber containing a dusty table where seven bottles once rested. Whether you find that interesting or not, it is the two doors present in the room that play at your curiosity. Going through one door will take you into an antechamber that leads to a much bigger room. Here a large mirror can be found, which will reveal something interesting about yourself if you stand in front of it properly. The other door, however, stems off into a series of chambers. First you find yourself in a spacious room, though there isn't much to be seen besides a thick layer of dust (with a dash of decayed troll bone) on the floor. Carrying onward, a giant chess board is revealed (to play a life-sized game, one need only cast Reparo on the mutilated pieces) and then a room filled with an array of winged keys. Lastly is a chamber that is relatively harmless ... as long as the blue flames remain lit.

Perhaps you've learned about this place once in history class? It all seems oddly familiar. Hmm.

Zoryn Spinnet was being very cautious. A word, which, never seemed to stay in her vocabulary for large chunks of time. But right now, it was the only word that mattered: Caution.

She peered around the dungeon corridor to make sure the coast was clear before tip-toeing her way down. While it was darker around these parts of the castle, Zoryn knew exactly where her door was. Still, she felt around the wall a little bit before finding the knob. Quickly slipped inside and closed the door behind her.

She had to check up on a few things.

Cameron had found the entrance to the underground chambers by accident a while ago and...had used it for quiet moments alone. Getting away from everything. If he didn't feel like being in the Common Room. If he had things to study or letters to write or wanted to do something that the current administration would disapprove of.

Eating food outside of the kitchen and Great Hall for instance.

Right now, Cameron was sitting with his back against the wall, holding his lit wand close to the book he was reading and sipping on a mug of hot chocolate. Completely engrossed in the book, he didn't hear the knob being turned which was why he started slightly when he noticed someone had slipped into the room. Wait...was that...

"....Zoryn?"

The Gryffindor quietly closed the door behind her, as to not draw any unwanted attention this way. And while she had been sure that no one was around on the other side of the wall, she hadn't stopped to consider the possibility that the chambers may have already been occupied.

Which is exactly why she nearly jumped a foot into the air upon turning around and seeing a body.

Yes, yes she did shout a four-letter word that started with the letter 'F'.

"Cameroni???" WHAT WAS HE DOING IN HER HIDEAWAY? "No offense, but what the heck are you doing here?"

.......said word earned Zoryn a stern look through narrowed eyes. Even Liam got scolded by Cameron when he used that word. No matter the circumstances. Although, the Gryffindor DID look quite startled (and he couldn't really blame her) so Cameron saved her the lecture on why she shouldn't swear.

Next time.

As for now Cameron slowly got off the floor, after carefully putting his bookmark into his book to mark the page he'd been on. "I was reading." He paused, tilting his head a little to give her a curious look. "What are you doing here?"

The eyes did nothing, ok. He had SCARED her! Was there a more appropriate word to say in that kind of circumstance? I think not. Just sayin', okay?

Zor watched as Cameron stood up, book in hand. His story checked out. "Same," she answered without skipping a beat. Though, obviously, she wasn't holding a book. Actually she didn't even have a book with her at all. It wasn't her best lie... But he had gotten her all flustered with the alsdf thing and how was she supposed to come up with a good lie when she nearly felt her heart exit her body?

Yeah. That's right. She couldn't have.

Cam eyed her for exactly one second (okay, maybe 10) before being absolutely sure that she was not in fact holding a book. Which, in turn, prooooobably meant that she was lying. Why, though? Why did she feel the need to lie to him about this? They were friends right? Sort of?

With a hint of a frown on his face, Cameron walked closer to her and gave her a confused look. "What's going on?" Was she on some super secret mission or something?

And you know what Zoryn did?

She eyed him right back! Because unfortunately, despite the fact that she was typically good on her feet... She had made a misstep here and now she had to roll with it. She wasn't being suspicious at all. Nope.

"What do you think is going on?"

It was the best she could do.
