| | Study Hall In close proximity to the library lies the study hall. Whether you are a first year or a seventh year, a Gryffindor or a Slytherin, a boy or a girl, this room is the best place to go for your studying and homework completion needs. If you ever find yourself stuck on something or have no clue what you're doing, you can always ask those who you are studying with for help or the professor that is overseeing the study session.
Scattered around the room are groups of desks that make it perfect for you and your friends to collaboratively work together. Average-sized oil lamps have been strategically placed on the desks to create a calm, comfortable environment. In a neat pile in the centre of the desks are extra quills, bottles of ink, and spare parchment should you need it -- just remember to leave the quills and ink at the table and only use what you need for parchment. Under the windows a long bookshelf containing a copy of textbooks for each class can be found, which you are welcome to use during your time in this room.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Clara Simelanu Fifth Year | Clara walked into the Study Hall, noticing that it was actually quieter than the library. She looked for a seat in the corner and spotted the textbooks that were available. Today, she didn't need any of those. She was just here to get ready for upcoming exams. And so she pulled out an academic planning notebook and began to pencil in various dates and check off completed assignments. However, this only took up a small chunk of time and not even one whole hour had passed.
She glanced around cautiously, almost suspiciously, and decided to go take a look at the stack of available textbooks. Surely she'd be able to spend a few more minutes here. After all, it was so quiet and so peaceful...

After all, it was so quiet and so peaceful... Needing a break from the library after the stolen book incident, and a quieter place than her dorms, Skylar found herself in an empty study hall which seemed like the perfect place to continue work on her revisions. Plus, if she did need a book, it was in close proximity to the library. Why had she never noticed this place before? And there was only one other person in here, who seemed about her age, though Skylar noticed the blue robes. But perhaps having more people to bounce ideas and theories off of would be beneficial in her OWL prep? "You don't mind if I join you, do you?" Sky said, dropping her bag at one of the desks nearby, but not too close. Just in case she preferred solo studying. "I'm Skylar ... Slytherin. Fifth year." Now, what to study first? She'd already done Transfiguration, Potions, Arithmancy, Charms.... Creatures, she guessed was probably a good thing to work through.

She'd already done Transfiguration, Potions, Arithmancy, Charms.... Creatures, she guessed was probably a good thing to work through. It was a bit odd that the study hall was this empty. Surely there had to be others that knew of this space. After all, fifth years had their OWLs to prepare for. The professors had been drilling it in their heads about how important these exams were. Hearing about how this would affect their careers day after day really made an impact. Perhaps it was too early in the term and procrastinators will always be procrastinators?
Clara pondered this as another girl walked into the room. She eyed the girl warily. The girl sat somewhat close by and introduced herself as Skylar the Slytherin. Ah, that's easy to remember, she thought. Clara wasn't really one to judge people based on their Houses. She remembered her parents telling her about how there was a bit of a stigma that came with each House, anyway, so she came into Hogwarts giving every classmate the benefit of the doubt. Plus, Slytherins were definitely academic competition. Smiling slightly, Clara replied, "Hi, I'm Clara. Ravenclaw. You could probably tell by the robes, though. I'm a fifth year as well."
Clara's eyes flicked through the textbook pile and she walked up and picked up the Charms textbook. She made her way back to her seat and turned to Skylar, adding, "So, what brings you here today?"

Clara's eyes flicked through the textbook pile and she walked up and picked up the Charms textbook. She made her way back to her seat and turned to Skylar, adding, "So, what brings you here today?" Clara and the girl was also a fifth year, interesting, very interesting. Because the girl was a Ravenclaw, which meant she was competition. While she knew she was a bright witch, Skylar wasn't naive enough to think that every year, things could change. New students could come, old students go, perhaps professors who taught her well before, would not be returning. But she would be polite and offer a smile nonetheless.
What brought her here today? Uh, for a Ravenclaw, Skylar was questioning her common sense. They were both fifth years, so wouldn't it be obvious? "OWL studies?" Sky shrugged, indicating to her pile of books. "the library was crammed with first years today. Who probably aren't even studying, but just taking up space." She made a face. Really, their workload didn't warrant library tables.

Really, their workload didn't warrant library tables. Clara nodded, "First years...yeah, they'll know better in time. In fact, it's not even just first years. Tons of people go to the library without the intent to study. It's fascinating, really. Is it that hard to take your socializing elsewhere?"
She glanced at the materials sitting at her desk and sighed. Charms wasn't her best subject, but at least it wasn't her worst. That award would probably go to Potions or Care of Magical Creatures.
She turned to Skylar again and asked, "So, which OWLs are you taking?"
To be honest, Clara had been preparing for these exams for quite a while. She had heard of some students from previous years who managed to get 10 or 11 OWLs, while some others settled for maybe three or four. The variation was staggering, and she constantly straddled the line between being reasonable and being far too ambitious. It was something she had been proud of for a very long time, but at this stage of her academic career, as OWLs and soon, NEWTs, were coming up - it wasn't exactly the greatest advantage.

| For anyone! Dem Carters | even 🕊🕊 have pride | | Expecto PAWtronum 🐈 | U-NA-GI Well, he was trying to use the study hall for what it was supposed to be used for. That counted for something, right? But, he'd been having so much trouble sleeping between OWL prep and all the weirdness going on this term that he was having trouble keeping his eyes open. He must have read the same few lines of his History of Magic textbook five times by now, and none of it had stuck, thanks to the fact that he kept dozing off. Okay, Ronan, you can do this....
Oh, no he couldn't, as instead of reading the book, he had dozed off again, head hitting the table. It was seriously a good thing he didn't snore. That would've been embarrassing.

Maybe he could hide from the crazy puff in Study Hall, though to think about it that probably was the worst decision. He needed to focus. All these third years were going nuts and it wasn't he cursing causing it. All most of them talked about was who they liked,
and stuff like that. Eddie didn't want any of that and he clearly didn't understand why people did.
Moving into the study hall he looked around seeing Ronan he thought about going to an empty table, but really maybe he'd actually sit near the boy.
Maybe if he sat near him other people wouldn't bother him.
Oh look he was sleeping, perfect Eddie didn't have to talk.

Oh look he was sleeping, perfect Eddie didn't have to talk. Even in his dozed off state, Ronan was hypersensitive to his surroundings. Blame it on everything that had been going on this term. So, when the chair beside him scraped the floor, he quickly shot to sitting up straight as a pole, wand out and aimed at the culprit. "Oh, it's you, sorry. Thought you were Kitty." 'Come to finish me off' was what he didn't say, but was implied. "Anyway, what homework brings you here?" Surprisingly, the assignments hadn't been as bad it seemed, to him to least, but he wanted to hear what others thought.

| Puff by day, snake by night | Mj's bestie | Always UP to Something... He gave looks to that comment and then turned back to his books. "Definitely not that know it all." He didn't care to be social with anyone,
but Ronan was proving to be not the worst person to be around. They had some of the same attitudes toward these professors, he just acted on it more than Edward. "No homework, just trying to hide from an annoying girl." If that puff came walking in and he was walking out.
